The problem is, should I sell high quality prints or are posters better? Printing on canvas is very expensive, so an image of about 100x70 would cost about 250 USD to the customers.

Posters are not either very cheap, but alot cheaper compared to canvas. Costs about 30 to 60 USD depending on color quality and size.

The preferred image format is a question of preference of taste and habit, and for many uses JPEG is fine and quite good in quality. However, I'd say that after a some considerations, PNG is a format better suited for wallpapers and pictures made from RAW's.
The reasons are:

- Extra transparency, gives better depth to the image and easier control over hues and tones.
- Better preserved image quality when stretching or scaling down the image.
- Easier to preserve graininess from cameras.
- Better bit resolution. PNG can handle 16-bit coding.

Also, PNG is more Open Source than JPEG, which makes is a bit more trustworthy.
The compression of JPEG, the formula, is some sort of Fourier-transform that is specially adapted to sunny landscape images. While that makes it good for many portraits, holiday images and such, it's not good at all for large, monochromatic images or large single colored areas.
Also JPEG has problems with showing a slight changes of hues when taking sky pictures (polarisation) or other more subtle changes in color. THe result in the more obvious cases is a sort of jagging. Usually people tend to show a picture that looks good and has no jagging, but often it's there, just that the screen usually can't cope with it (6-bit screen of somewhat bad quality 8-bit).

Those are my main points for using PNG.

The other part is of course the screen/monitor that is used to view a picture.
Not taking into account color profile's it could be said that in general most production and viewing is based on the 8-bit RGB scale. Even if that not completely true (CMYK) when it comes to the web and to the monitors we use, it's mostly true.
However. Most screens are 6-bit. Gaming flat-panel monitors, office and home use are all usually 6-bit. Laptops - usually 6-bit. Even if you calibrate it, it still only show the colors it can show, but more correcly. Also people tend to use 9300 K blue-tinted warmth index instead of 6500 K, which is more close the our sun (5300-5600 K).
If you like using 9300 K, that's fine. I like it too.
But it should be taken into account.
Now, every one are very excited about using S-IPS panels and such because they are supposedly better than everyone else along with some OLED's. But the trouble is that what panel you use is only a part of how an image on your screen will be viewed. The other part depends on illumination. There are a couple of papers here on the net that explain how backlight is done on flat panel monitors.

Also, please bear in mind that while flat panels are good, a mitsubishi/sony CRT flat glass monitor with color calibration and warm-up time of about 2 hours will be better than most of the flat panels ever can be. That's because they are analog and because their resulting color dynamic is wider.

Back to the flat panels.
Usually the backlight on flat-panels is point based direct behind the screen, either lamp or tubes lyng and illuminating the panel. However, in more engineered flat-panels, mirrors and illumination equalizing methods are used. Those of unfortunately rare, hence the usual backlight bleeding on many screens, even very expensive ones.

So, please observe what cinfiguration and environment you are working in.

B/W - best in 16-bit PNG
Very large images with oneto few dominant colors - NOT JPEG.
Images that have lot's of green, sky and sun - JPEG
And, use a good screen.

Must say that tha VS looks wonderful.
Clear, well designed, good colors option and nice buttons. I like the somewhat different borders and their patterns.

At least as much a I can see from the preview. I use Vista so I can't use the XP VS skin.

I have also made a more high quality versions of the wallpapers included.
So if anyone would like those, send me a note.
However, observe that for it to make a difference you have to have a high quality panel and a quite large monitor for it to make a difference.

I agree that in most cases it's some sort of stealing, even if it can't really always considered stealing. It's copying. And there's a difference in that. Of course, posing someone else's work as your own isn't ethical.
Somehow people think that by posting something on the internet with a © mark prevents others from using it. That nonsense. If it's good and attractive, no matter if it's a program snippet, an image or a sound file, someone will use it. Wether they choose to ask for permission or not or to pay or not is another question.
Ripping isn't dangerous, using someone elses work as base to create a new piece is OK too. In fact, you could modify someone elses work to a degree where it's not even considered to be owned by the person that creates that base-property.
If you are afraid your work will be used by someone else - don't post it online.

Of course there are regulations ans such, but there is an inherent difference in making a copy and using an physical item.
But the internet is not harmonized in legal terms, and that means that is in most cases unclear who is supposed to folow what laws, as well as which of all the possible laws really do apply.

Now if someone is using your work in print for commercial uses, like for a magazine, advertising etc, that's a somewhat different matter.

I have used basic HTML, it's made in Dreamweaver and I will try to learn som CSS to remake it later into an CSS + HTML version.
THe gallery is very basic, but you can look at pictures. Used simpleviewer and porta to make those, but I like it.

Still I am not that active. To some extent, deviantart has lost it's allure, and also most of the deviations you can find are cool, but not the most original ones. Nor are my recent submissions any better for that matter.

Have been trying to find some good skins and such, and it's really hard, even if there are lot's of both stylish and visually stunning skins. The problem is in functionality and usabilty. Having a really cute skin that is 100x100 pixels large or similar on a 1600x1200 Pro Crt sucks, men people use to thin fonts, bad choice of colorschemes etc. All that makes skin either too small, hard to read or to cluttery.

Have started the old skins again, since the new ones suck.
Oh, yes, and why I still use CRT, it's because of it's colors. More colors. At least if it's properly calibrated.

Recent deviations are somewhat varied. Sometimes just art, still mostly wallpaper sized. Have to move away from the wallpaper section thought. More ordinary art should be enough. Also I am planning to be selling prints. BUt not sure yet wether the deviantart prints account is the right thing.
Also I have gone more public nowadays. I can be hired for various shoots.

New camera: Nikon D70. An used one. I only have one lens to it. So I'd be really happy to buy some more. Not necessarily new, high grade ones - there far too expensive. But maybe some older ones that have manul focus and good f numbers.

It's hot outside, and I usually am indoors when not at work. Either studying of doing nothing in particular.

Also I have some really bad headaches during day, so I might visit a doctor and complain to get myself examined. I'm not a great fan of hospitals and such. Been there too much (at least my point of view).
Among the news since the laft journal would of course be that I am single (was Acero - explains the watch thingy). Have no specific ideas about it. Shit happens. You would know as much as I do about it, so no real point in debating it.
I also now run 1 GB DDR on my compy. Rather sweet.

My recent submissions have been somewhat dark, I would really like to get some feedback about them, not necessarily fav's or comments, but more suggestions about how I could make them better. I sanyone up for it?
So far I have received som really good critique from Brian Sharland . Would really appreciat if you would note me on those matters.

Also I could greatly recomment My Devart friend Mark. His art is getting more like real art and I must say that his recent submissions have been outstainding i both color, geometry and the most important thing in his works - the feelings that constitute them. Go chech out his account.

Yuck, Kissing disiease, got it a few days ago. Now II'm really ill. I seem to belong to the very few who donät get away with it sou easy ans a sore throath. Swallowing is a problem, going heavy on painkillers ( doctors orders) stay in bed a week or two (!) and forget about going outdoors or doing some work. Can't sleep really, I dream weird stuff and the brain seems to go in mach 3 at night. The painkillers seem to wrok on the fever at least since otherwise I would have something about 38 degrees centrigrade I guess. And that would be really bad.
If anyone has had the experience of having this disease, write me something if you can recommend something. In swedish it's called Körtelfeber. Not funny at all.

Went first to Miami, or to be more exact, Broward county. Visited some people there. It was quite nice. But : Very hot and humid. And by that I really mean hot and humid. It felt a bit more than 40 degrees celsius. Not sure how warm is was, but at that point I didn't really care, just to keep myself cool enough from overheating was enough.
Many things are quite differentm, the most obvious being the rectangularity of the street system and the tiny scale of the publictransport system compared to the sheer humber of cars. Everyone seems to have a car. You see two houses in an area, and 8 cars in front of it. The distances are quite huge to travel, so having your own car is quite essential. And since petrol seems to be alot cheaper than here in Europe, it's also possible. Unfortunately, americans don't seem to be good at driving cars (they themselves complained, it's not my words). Everytime someone took me to or from Miami to Broward (that's just south of Ft Lauderdale), there was always some accident somewhere.
The urbanity is very different in it's feel and structure too. Mainly that there are several city districs and that some of them are safe during day, whilst at night tourists are not advised to be there.
Something that was a good new things there thought was the Tri-rail, a quite fast train to be there that took the 40 Km in 40 minutes with stops.
Beaches there are not huge, but fairly large. And well visited. I was this time only to Miami South beach. It was OK. Lot's of people, expensive brands stores, fast cars and lot's of showing off. Strangelty enough, I found only one internet cafe. Thought there would be more of them. Maybe I am sort of spoiled as a swede, used to have nodes everywhere.
Me and Darkery (my sister, who was with me on the trip) ate a TGI Fridays. Hamburger for both, smothie for me and two cokes for here (+ water) sums up at $27. Don't know if that's expensive, but it was good.
Now to the more larger dissapointments:
Lack of knowlegde. I don't know where to start. But say this: How is it possible that people don't know which way south of North is? And don't know where the states are properly or how Europe or the rest of the world looks?
I thought Mr. Leno had found some people that just happened to be that way of didnät care, but most of the people I talked to did amazingly not have mucxh to say about the rest of the world. It was to say the least, a bit of a shock and not good at all.
From my point of view, it's good if people know alot.
I'm not saying that they were a bunch of fools, no. Americans are quite normal people I guess. But they don't seem to be so well educated. In general.
Now to cofee. Coffee is good at Starbucks. Before them, it is said that there was no real coffee in the states. Ask the Spanish... (spanish people from spain) or the french. Or people from South America.
One thing that was really well, weird was a drive thru atm. There are quite commen. I can understand the concept, but it seems sort of the highest point of lazyness, to drive to get your money. The reason might be that people feel more safe in their cars than outside. But people there seems to be afraid to some extent of each other.
Things are generally cheaper than sweden, but not always by far. Somethings cost as much as in Europe, others are cheaper. Electronics is alot cheaper. And fotorolls too. Very much cheaper. For the sum of one roll kodak 800 ASA here I can buy 4 there.
Pittsburg in Pennsylvania was far more a nice place. It was not as hot as Miami and it was an more interesting citystructure. And definately more of a university town. Especially that i was greener. In some parts, it's resembles (note: resembles) british architecture.
I visited the Carnegie Mellon University and Universoty of Pittsburgh. Was quite OK, but I didn't find anything special. Except for that Carnegie costs a friggin lot to study at, but that were no news precisely. On the other hand, I was there for two days, so it was not a lot. I didn't see all parts of that town either, but some major parts I saw.
The scale is ver y different. Pittsburg is a tiny town by american standards. And normal (not to say very large) by swedish.
One thing that is very hard to miss is that there seem to be very few of real nature in people's everyday life in some highly urban parts of the states. Many people make the forests and the natural areas drown in the informationary noise from society. And that many of the forests areas near towns seem be hard cultivated and reshaped into a cultural landscape more than just a forest.

Well, I'm not in mood to be happy at the moment, so I thought that for once, I'll pour some disgust over here.
I am a bit annoyed over some things
- things that seemd arranged (meetings, phonecalls, people's different opinions) that get aborted or rearranged in the last moment, jst because someone has not the guts to stand for their earlier opinions. Quite spineless.
-that some are so naive in thinking that since they are have had some education in some subjects, that they are automatically right about it. It more that they are blind for their own speed in it, since it's more probable. I must say that many also seem a bit to naive about some things.And unfortunately, most of them are my age...so something a bit too odd about me.
- Tired of that (for some friends sake) 1. Girls don't seem to tell what they mean or want, 2. Boys are stubborn fools sometimes.
- Basically I feel unappreciated and disgraceful.
- Bored beyong belief.
- well, I have not updated my site yet, since I've just not had the time. Promised it to be upp and running the this week's mid, but it's still not there and I just am too tired to get it working at the moment.
I'd really like to do some photography, but have lot's of rolls waiting for development.

And well it turned out more or less OK after the circumstances. My hair is quite a task to cut, and not very easy, and I think they have done their best.
Anyway. it's not what I have thought to write about really.
My intention is to write about well, life, love and feelings.
Sometimes is seems to me that such a discussion and straightening out of definitions is necessary. It's not that I am all scientific about, no. I wouldn't dream of it.

I just think that my notion of love seems to be very different, but that not the point either.
I got a comment today from a friend today that I seem to lack reactions.
Like now, the situation is thus. I really hurt to hear from a special person and some other friends. But if they tell me that they can't or so, I hav eto choose to believe them.
But what the comment was about is that I seldomely react in a such way that most people do. They tell me that I am to calm, or even just immobile in my feelings.
They are right, but the reason is not a lack of feelings. I have feelings, people know that, and they tend to shift quite of ten. It's just that I usually don't show them. Also, I am used to loosing different issues and so, just because people insist on that their version of the issue is supposed to be right and because I do realize that I will undoubtedly hurt their feelings if I say my version of it.
One thing is somwhat funny, and at the same time sad. I wouldn't know if someone loved or cared about me, until that person became mad with my rigity and yelled at me and then suddenly stopped feeling for me, or just one day just told me that they care about me.
I have no real idea why it works that way.
Just don't get me wrong, there are of course people I do love (I really hope I do), but I'm rather uncertain wether they do realize it, and if they at all would appreciate it.
So, in summarum, I am well ....lonely?
I also always wonder how people manage to tend to be so damn busy all the time, that those things that are supposed to be an essential part of their liffe fade away in chronology until their life is their work and all they do is their business, and they don't think about anything. Well, you can't get everything can you. And you can't get pleasure in a compact effective form because it's maybe a bit just uncompatible.
I am also amazed by those that take relationships quite lightly and those that just speak out that they don't have time for this or that without even realizing the implicaments of their own speakings.
From my point of view, it just as well be rather spineless. It also has to do with the craze of everyone (in this place at least) of being afraid of being "burnt" in a relationship, meaning that something that seemed to be love turns out to be something different.
Those I have spoken to seem to be more afraid of being loved (because they fear the end, or that they will ahve a bad consciense afterwards) than to love someone. They don't want to hurt anyone, as much as they don't want to get hurt themselfes. There are no guarantess anywhere to that someone will love you. But why not at least enjoy the moment? And why could people not love you? Is it so bad?
No matter if you are a Dark angel or well. .ohh what you can think of... someone might still like you, right? And thinking that the one you are together with now is not forever might be realistic, but still in a sense lame (than why are you together in the first place then? Awesome sex, no one else to turn to? Feeling lonely at night?, Just afraid of being alone and feeling miserable?)
For my part, I am more hm...don't really know.
If someone I do love would just even send a note or call me or just one day knock on my door, I'd be happy I suppose. Sometimes days pass when I think of just one specific individual than other people or assignments.
Well, I have to get some sleep now. Rather tired. Borrowed a book with irish (it says celtic on the front side, but today it's the same as Irish folk tales) folk tales. Want to know what they tell.

And actually as it seems the final. A rave that is arranged every first friday of the month during sessions.
Wonderful.
There is something with trance that makes one shiver and just dance without thinking.
The geometric hallucionation of pure emotion. You get goosebumps and go wild sort of.
Rhitmic, basslines punching you inners and you feeling the higpitched music and the spatiality of it. Together with about 70 other, all really sweaty of the action, trancelovers dancing away the night to the heavy and fast rhytm of trance classics.

For some reason many poeple think that this sort of music is plain trash. I can't agree. Yes, there is lot of good music and bad, and bad trance too. But the good one is good.
And, since many have a very misunderstood view of the much the volume and bass should be, they think it's all bass. but it's so much more than that. Then of course, getting the sound right is an artform in itself.
Trance is very energetic, dymanic, extremly varying in structure and long.

Well. I got home at about 03.30.
Tired in extremum, and the knees hurt a bit.
Slept today until my mum called me at 12:30. She was a bit surprised. Well, quite understandable.
My body feels hurt and tired. But it's just wonderful. That feeling.
Nokomis I do agree with you.

The reason:
A very dear friends relative passed away. Very abruptly, and very unexpectedly. It was a man I knew. A person that had together with my friend quite an impact on me. he also made me appreciate the asian cuisine and it's delicate tastes. Also, he showed some very seldom met generosity. All that made him good human being.

The latest 3 weeks I have been occupied with the idea of making a picture to his memory.

The image is one of about 150, of whom all where dedicated to the same theme. I have spent a lot of time planning and thinking how to do this idea. And I found one picture to it.
Nothing is edited, everthing is raw.
Thursday..(today when this is written) will not be a happy day.
I hope that his nearest relatives are OK after the circumstances.

I have worked with a Canon EOS 10D, an DSLR I have borrowed from a friend. The equipment is also an 50 mm fix lens, 70-300 lens and an 18-75 lens.
I am quite amazed by it's raw design and the simplicity of it's use. Like it a lot.
The day for me began today at noon.
First downtown, check for some prints. No prints unfortunately. Take piuctures downtown.
Second: take som pictures at home of some friends.
Third: Take pictures at a bands rehearsal.
Fourth: Charge battery and eat dinner. Then out in the night together with two friends and take more pictures.
So it's about hm..300 pics in 13 hours maybe.
Quite a lot and I am tired.
Need to sleep.

The journal name this time is a beginning of an sentence.
And besides me, there is only one single person that know how it continues..
The sun is shining, my mind is walled in mist and something called mgla. The word is en elder expression for darkness of a special sort. If you read this and happen to know it's origin, tell me.
I have burnmars on my fingers, and even some small sharp cuts.
I have installed a major graphics cooling upgrade. I was forced to, since my GPU was about to melt again. That's when I got the burn marks.
These days I have started to listen quite a lot to Swan Lee and Clannad (again).
Also I have a staggering amount of rolls to develop.
I am also in a way worried for some individuals that, as I see upon it, have some chance for well, lets called it environmental breakdown of self. *worried*
And I am not.
My modifications hurt all day, and I have to get to my hometown soon before it gets to late. bacause then...well then.... it will be far too interesting.
Also I do not know really which people on the planet care about me, beacuse from my point of view, those people that might do it more or less seem to view me as an sort of resourse. Like some agent of some kind. They call and all demand this and that to be done by me in order to help them. Makes me think sometimes that everyone just want to be light/dark/cool/really a badass/beautiful to the world/lucky/luckily depressed (yes there are those fools too, I have know n such)/people that wants to be ... well hard to interpret and therefore misunderstood -> cool again (but in reality need, to say as an more wise friend that has been, there done that said -" they need to get a life") - but reality all renders them helpless. The weird thing is that it also seems that very few like to listen to my more intricate thoughts. At the moment there is actually only 1 active. Kémmotar. My feodal lords are in communication links a bit to far, but I know they would listen. And I am getting dangerously cross over that soon. The weird part is that everyone seems so accostumed with my presence or response that they get angry/annoyed as soon as I start talking about my stuff or if I just disagree with them and say no.
Now about music.
I have after numerous discussions with girls and boys and experimental attemps to get people to listen to something new, concluded that females tend to be more bound my music that has an element of song in it and that they are also more conserative to new music. Males have an another tendency, they listen to their stuff, but mostly agree on listeing to something new, and also ..they seem to listen to more music.
Here in sweden I see a division that makes males for some wierd reason gather more information de facto. I do not know why. Guys have more interests maybe. I don'y know.
Of course, it's still easier to move around in the public room as an male, but in sweden it should not matter, since it's even more women here then men. Also it seems that guys tend to be more doubting to their nature nowadays and willing to discuss things.
The reason for me writing this is NOT because I think males are better or some shit like that. No. It's more or less observation.
I ´personally know as much girls and boys. I prefer to have girls and friends to balance it out. Just difficult to find those that can make good friends, and girls in this town where I live now seen to find it odd. I'm from a larger city, and that makes itself quite clear. I also feel best around those that are not my age, but older, about 3 to 5 years or so, maybe more. Because I have always been in a such divided environment. Further on, I have read some social geography and anthropology that has quite clearly stated the predictivity of human behaiviour in some ways.
Otheriwse..girls are well.... quite wonderful. Not all, some, many of those whon I know of. And some I value even more (you know who you are out there *point at*). They are genereally more caring, see to things in another way, if they allow themselves too.
My hair is getting long too, pretty long. So I have to find a way to keep it in shape and somehow think out some new form for it.
I may also get to work with a real pro camera btw. real pro= expensive.

(now ..imagine the paradox...when you read the sentence ..really nice music.. you all think of different music I suppose, but in reallity few of you know what I mena by that, the possibilities are so many that it's mind buggering..what do you know I could be listening to japanese noise and rockabilly or maybe even to some obscure Goth music from Washington D.C. ? Well, today I've made an small nostalgic flipback..listening to layered trance a bit. MOst of you wonät probably understand the structural feeling of it, since most of you unfortunately are not acquainted with it...you are either in other sorts of music (which is actuallly good) or just to young. It's also good, since trance then and now doesn't really have the same sound.
The emotions are therefore different.
Wondrous and somehow stormy clouds here today... and through them the Suni does shine with a fearful glow.
Yesterday I was taking pictures of a major event of the year in Uni-tech terms. Teknik -Sm. It was quiet boring. Except for one comedian that they've hired to lead the show...which is most fortunate..since otherwise it would not have even been worth attending.
Playing photographer is kind of essential sometimes.

The another worlds series turned out quite OK. And it's nice some have commented it. I wonder thought how many have seen the text in the panoramic picture.
There will be maximum one or two more pictures from that occasion.
Had a friend visiting me yesterday... she needed somethings got done on my computer ( her's is so to speak out of order and can't get connected to our internet here due to some problems I can't find out). I therefore heard a new band to me. Eeels,, american rock (sort of ) if I'm not mistaken. Quite serious lyrics it seems.

Today I am going to the medic here. I'll see what she or he tells me.
Also, the computer is working stable now, something that can never be underestimated.
I wonder sometimes why I don't eat fruits so often as I should I guess.
I had two friends visiting me during the weekend, so me and a certain J (a friend too) spent soem good time together with them. We wera quite far waywards too, we went together to Omberg (grand hill/smaller mountian at these latitudes), and saw as well Alvastra cloister ruin and the famous Rö k stone (Runestone). Also we just observed several wind-powerplants standing more or less still, something which is quite unusual here. It blows quiet a lot most of the time.
We also went out, and my friends enjoyed it a lot, the place was balanced good between the sexes (which is good, since then it's good activity everywhere). The music was of course hilariously lousy, but not all. For my part, I met some of the elder section people from the Uni ( I don't fraternize so much with the younger one, the olders ones are more interesting most of the time at that stuff), which I've not seen a while, so I had some time to talk to them.
Got late to sleep that night.
Sunday..late up. Awoke at about 1 pm. nice. Still dizzy from the drinks.
Well, we went to a cafe and ate a semla each. Semle...well..it's kind of hard to explain. Search for it on google or just believe that most people find it tasty
That's the weekend.

I dunno If I'll have so much time to submit things this week. I might, but it not for certain, so I'll be more of a critic prolly.
The digital pictures I have are not the best to submit either. I have about 6 rolls or so waiting for development. But I have no possiblity of doing that this week. And in the worst case it all might drag out until the mid of mars... (This is not funny). It takes me quitea trip to develop my rolls. I have acces to a srecial lab..therefore...it takes longer time...but the better result. I have to learn how to work with better equipment too.
Instead, my site Avlee.tk will see an upgrade and a redesign in some structural terms. And newer material.

New pictures will be coming up, I'll also maybe submit some old pictures that have been lying on my harddrive for a long time.
Soon it's Valentine's day...hm..I don't know what to think of it.
Usually I hate that day...everyone are so overwhelmingly cute... one sometimes wants just to take a RL and start roaming ..... Don't worry, I won't do that.
I can of course flip in a methaforical sense and admit...I have only received something on that day once...and it was way years ago..I don't even really remember how it looked or what is was.
Well, that's me..I'm weird. (I guess.)

now wounded him in the eye under his eyebrows, tearing the eye-ball
from its socket: the spear went right through the eye into the nape of
the neck, and he fell, stretching out both hands before him.
Peneleos then drew his sword and smote him on the neck, so that both
head and helmet came tumbling down to the ground with the spear
still sticking in the eye; he then held up the head, as though it
had been a poppy-head, and showed it to the Trojans, vaunting over

THE SKELETON IN ARMOR

SPEAK! speak! thou fearful guest!
Who, with thy hollow breast
Still in rude armor drest,
Comest to daunt me!
Wrapt not in Eastern balms,
But with thy fleshless palms
Stretched, as if asking alms,
Why dost thou haunt me?"
