so last week was fuck-all-turned-upside-down-crazy.... my father calls at 4am Saturday morning. my aunt who has been battling cancer for the last two years is on her deathbed. so i drove up to Tennessee Saturday afternoon. 8 miles from the house my car kicks itself out of fifth gear. so i have to drive the rest of the way strong-arming the stick shift into fifth. i get there and instead of a the chair my aunt usually sits in, is a hospital bed, i walk up and she immediately recognizes me, which is awesome. anyways, the car wouldn't be a BIG issue if i didn't have to be back in Atlanta that Monday to start work at my new job... so my dad decides that rather than pay more in repairs then the price of my car, he'd help me buy a new one. that Wednesday morning, my aunt passed away. she was a CEO at IBM and 44, she's survived by her 17 year old son, her husband, parents and brother and sister. the next day, i bought a brand new 2008 Honda civic.. Saturday we had a celebration of her life at their house, with more than 160 people attending. her son's friends even ferried people up their quarter mile drive way with two six-seat gas-powered golf carts. Sunday afternoon i drove home... Sunday was the first night i slept in a bed that week. next morning, up at 6:30 to report to work. that whole previous week i was supposed to be toning comic pages for Heidi, so now every night after work i need to come home and work on that, so i can get it done ASAP so she can get paid.

tomorrow is casual Friday. i can wear blue jeans.

i have a new car.

I'm broke.

shared the table with me, and gave out ALL her dark crystal previews as well as sold all her cocktopus plushies.. she even had people coming up and asking for them when we ran out.

it was great seeing all our scaddie friends as always: , , , , , and others i can't remember right now...

DUH.. CATS () was there too, and he gave us sweets even AFTER his car exploded.

our table-neighbor was adorable too, very quite and she had her whole family there with her. and she made more monies then heidi or i. (thats some good english right there)

this week seems like it'll be full of busy fun to, heroes is tonight, reaper premieres tomorrow, drink & draw on wednesday, and boston legal and my name is earl on thurs. not to mention halo 3 will be out tomorrow.

also, MC CHRIS is playing at the roxy on the 1st here in atlanta.

anyways.. i'll be heading to san diego comic-con (home, sweet home) at the end of the month, with the uber-awesome (super-artist by day, super-hot girlfriend by night). she'll be pushing her new Dark Crystal book from tokyopop, so i may get to sit behind the table with her. aside from that, i'll be wondering around submitting portfolios and just generally trying to shoot the shat and get some work.

in more local and distant news, we'll also be sharing a table at Anime Week Atlanta. i'm looking forward to that so i can sell some of my stickers! also looking forward to getting more fanart done.

SUPER HAPPY CARTOON MEGA CONGRATS TO for starting his first day of work at cartoon network today. i expect him to bring billy west over to cook me breakfast.

also; the new smashing pumpkins album is actually quite good. it's probably all i'll listen to for the week.

i'm not so good at these blorg things ( i had to fight the urge to type "anyways" again). but hopefully i'll be a little more attentive to this little slice of the internet.

And in headlines today; i also love me some commissions.
