I seriously need to lose weight. Watching my mom monitor her blood pressure constantly, seeing morbidly obese people at school everyday, and with my sister's wedding looming ahead something needs to be done about my figure.

I will not only do aerobics, I will do plenty of weight training and watch what I eat. For now it's small steps, with using the stairs more often and chucking all of the candy in my cabinet away. My MP3 player (a dinky Rio Sport, no iPod) is packed with high intensity songs to get me through 20-25 minutes of running on the elliptical.

I don't need luck right now, because I know I'll lose the excess weight. I need support and constant reminders of what I'm doing this for.

Tomorrow I'm going to be moving into my new apartment with and two other roommates. We're moving into a brand new building with new furniture and other shiney things. Sometimes I wonder if I'm bringing too much stuff or not enough. I know that over this week and next I will forget something at home or bring something from my apartment.

Again my updates will be wonky and my time online will be limited. School picks up again at the end of the month, and the price of college textbooks should read "$Arm" and "$Leg" instead of their price tags.

This semester I'm going to be more focused on extra-curricular clubs/activities. I'm going to join business clubs and socities at school instead of endlessly job hunting. The current job I am really seeking is tutoring lower level business courses. Government benefits and I arrange my own timetable.

AX was a lot of fun, despite the 3+ hours of waiting in line for every major event. (Panels and autograph sessions were 1-3 hours.)

Quite a few people asked for pictures too. Weird, considering how half assed my costumes were.

I've been inspired to draw again. Now if only I can find the pen to my tablet...

Yesterday, I watched Bleach. All of it. That's right, all 34 episodes from start to finish. (I'm going with the manga as Viz releases it. I know scanslations are available, but if you want the anime released here you gotta support the domestic product too.) Now I understand why certain characters are so popular. My new reason to lose weight: To cosplay as Kuukaku.

Next up on my marathon list: Trinity Blood and Sousei no Aquarion.

Next week until roughly June 23rd I'm going to be in Palm Desert to visit my sister and help her fix her house. I'm going to be gone for a while, yes. Maybe I can find a muse in the desert to inspire me to draw great pictures again.

I am going through my last bits of packing. I'm moving back to my parents house for the summer until Fall semester begins.

I'm going to be very busy the next few weeks. Traveling here and there, visiting friends when I didn't have the time during the semester, and so on. You may not hear many comments form me or see many deviations for a while. Once I am settled I'll upload everything I've done. And yes, the Kiriban watch is still in effect.

The program is called Art Rage. It's a small program with the essential "natural" tools (pencil, oils, watercolor paint, crayon) and has very realistic pressure and brush stroke behaviors. Check out the Sample gallery to see what people have done with this little program.

The only disadvantage I've found is the strange file it saves as. Thank God for screen captures

My internship at Cinequest, officially ended last week. You know what that means: More drawings from me! ....well, maybe.

I'm sending out resumes and filling out job applications like a mad woman. I really want to get more experience under my belt before graduating. But I talked with some of the older students, and they said to wait until May. May is when the biggest career fair starts over at my school, which means there will be plenty of opportunities to get an internship or a part time job at a company I like.

I am now seriously backlogged in drawing projects. My MAG submission is now gift art, and this month's MAG has only 1 character, but a very interesting concept. On top of that, a site I regularly visit is also running an art contest sponsored by J List. The people there are insanely good *ahem* *ahem*, but the least I can do is try.

Spring break is coming up next week. I'm looking foward to yet dreading it. The bulk of my midterms are AFTER spring break =\ Ah well.

Last night, my sister's boyfriend called the house. I found it strange, since it's usually my sister that calls at random times. He asked for my parents, so I gave the phone off to my mom. Then she yells for me to pick up the phone a few seconds later.

I think my confidence in digital art is showing with each picture. I carry a little sketchbook around with me everywhere. I doodle things, friends doodle things, and a few important notes, names and numbers on some pages.

Next week I'll be starting school. Yet again the bookstore will rape me of my money and run away with glee. I'll be even busier now that my boss has teamed me and a few co-workers on a huge project.

A whole slew of things have inspired me to draw recently.

An art subforum at I visit frequently has all sorts of active artists whose work is awe inspiring. Right now they are accepting submissions for a pin up book to be published sometime this year or early next year. I'm putting two (perhaps more) based on Alice in Wonderland. One down, one to go.

My boyfriend is an Asian film fan, so whenever he comes over we watch Asian movies whenever there's nothing on TV or any new anime worth checking out. Yesterday, we watched Shimotsuma Monogatari (Kamikaze Girls) first. The direction reminded me of Quentin Tarantino movies, and the costumes were gorgeous. If you like Gothic Lolita and/or Japanese female biker gangs, this movie is for you. When the movie ended I got excited about the prospects of drawing Ichiko.

Next, we watched Silmido, an interpretation of South Korean battalion 684's tragic story. The characters were stereotypical, and the action was kind of blah, but you do have to wonder about those 31 men and their officers.

at around 4PM i turned off my computer to watch a bit of TV. i turned it on again 10 minutes later when i remembered i was supposed to pay a few bills..............

i spent the last 3 or 4 hours killing off spyware that magically embedded itself in my computer. i am now frustrated, hungry, and incredibly irritable. i'm sure my computer looks like an appetizing meal to these spyware makers. thankfully i know exactly which programs i installed on this piece of shit.

whoever the fuck started spyware needs to be hanged by their toes over a pot of 3 molar hydrochloric acid.

i finally got myself a shiney new scanner (a canon LiDE 35). the canon customer service e-mail worked really fast after i had some installation problems. all of the test scans are much brighter than what i got from my old HP.

now that i have a whole bunch of scans done and printed, i'm in the process of coloring them. i finally got my box of markers back from my friend's house, so there are definately going to be a glut of marker colored pictures pretty soon.

next week i have the last day of classes, and the oral exam of my japanese final. the week after is finals week. i am going to study until my eyes corrode from all of the highlighter fumes. oh yeah, lots of fun =\

in school news, i got a 93% on my accounting midterm. which means, i get to slack off on the final! horray! (my professor drops the lowest score, since the final counts as our 4th "midterm"). also, i don't have to attend my business writing class anymore. i received a solid B, and signed a contract with my professor which guaruntees my B, i don't have to take his final, nor go to his class anymore. class registration is next monday at 7:30AM. i'd like to punch the genius that came up with these weird time tables.

i'm giving away my old scanner tomorrow to make room for a new one. hopefully the greyed out effect on the colors won't be as bad. my new scanner should be in the mail soon.

must get into classes i need. my graduate in two years. must finish up the sketches of current drawing projects (see below). must get shower to free up time for video games. MUST GET MY LAUNDRY DONE!......well, you get the jist of it.

look at me go, i'm being highly organized about all aspects of my life. my priorities, from the top, are school, my marketing internship, working out, and drawing time. it's difficult to stick to the schedule, especially when i want to draw more, but i want to graduate from college sooner, not later.

School is seriously getting in the way of valuable drawing time. I am in the middle of my midterm hell weeks, so I'm surprised at all when I can even complete a pencil sketch.

And as if I'm not busy enough, I got accepted to a marketing internship at Cinequest, which runs the annual International Film Festival in San Jose. I'm really excited to actually have a real psuedo-job for the first time in my life. I need the work experience if I have any hope of working in California in the near future.

The current drawing projects below are inked, but I either forget or am too busy to scan them. I promise to do it soon though! Maybe this time I can get some time in to finish coloring some of them.

Yep, school's been underway since last week. Getting bored enough to sketch and doodle in class again, since that seems to be the only time where I'm forced to sit on my ass.

While I would be drawing on my freetime, I have required reading for almost all of my classes and a quiz EVERYDAY in my advanced Japanese class. When I get my reading/homework done for the day, I make an effort to go into the gym in my school for at least half an hour. I seriously need to get in shape. I must get in shape, damn it!

on friday (7/23/04), while i was out hanging out with my boyfriend, my godfather came by to my house to fix my computer. he used to work for dell, and my computer's a dell. so by the time i came home, i received the good news from my dad that my computer was fixed. in conclusion: i'll be returning to my usual c/c for those on my watch list >D

about a week and a half from now (early august), i'll be leaving for a week to vacation with my family in palm springs, las vegas, and maybe the grand canyon if we schedule ourselves properly. sad ain't it? i've traveled to hawaii and the philippines and canada and new york city but i haven't been to any of the other places.

hey look! i made a new sig!

a few days ago i was suddenly frustrated with all the time i took to make my signature/watermark on my artwork. so after lots of doodling on my sketchbook, i finally came up with this. i'm really happy with it. it combines almost all of the elements of my old sig and looks awesome at the same time.

still no new computer yet. just paid off tuition for college, which cut into the "tenchan needs a new computer" fund. so if you notice that i don't comment, it's not that i hate you. i just have next to no time to seriously look at all of your art and give c/c like i usually do.

gonna be keeping busy the next two weekends. the first is my nephew's birthday party this weekend up in sacramento. next weekend is my sister's friend's wedding (my sister is the maid of honor, and we've known her friend for a long time).

but since those major events are on weekends, i still have bucketloads of time to draw and continue experimenting with coloring on photoshop. i know most of my stuff looks bad now. but hey, practice is practice, and sometimes it ain't pretty.

no internet and no boyfriend makes ten-chan go somethingsomething....

Last night, my home computer had enough of dealing with my cousins' bullshit, and decided to implode. (Well, not literally vanish from the face of the earth, but you know what I mean.) So yet again, I have no computer.

I can't exactly ask my sister for a new computer, since she lives in Palm Springs now and can't just steal one from her workplace since she's unemployed. So now I must do some research to find the best computer deal for under $1500.

Why under $1500? Because my parents have a lot more bills to pay and altogether are worth a lot more than $1500. If you decide to throw in my tuition for fall semester, the numbers aren't very pretty, and we have only one paycheck to allot to all of these bills.

My time on the internet will for now be very little. Just long enough to check e-mails and two or three websites. If any of you can find a sweet deal on a PC tower for under $1500, or are willing to build one for under $1000, please let me know.

fanime was definately a blast, even though i had to work and take the train to go home.

june so far has turned out to be a lot of good things, with a few sad things along the way.

my older sister is in the process of moving with her boyfriend to palm springs. they've been together for over five years, so it IS like they're married for my family. i'm not sad that she's leaving, but it's going to feel weird not getting random phone calls for her asking if i want to go drinking or have lunch/dinner at her house. besides, i can always take a plane to go down to visit.

i'm in school again, summer school. i'll probably get bored enough again to draw in class. most of it will end up going to my scraps section, should i decide to even scan them.

and yes, i DO have some drawings that i need to scan and post up. just be patient with me as i try to figure out a schedule for myself for the next month.

done. all done. no more school to worry about. i still have to move my ass out of my dorm (this is my last post from my dorm for the semester), but a good 95% of my stuff is at home already. from now 'til june i get to focus on fanime. i still don't have my staff schedule yet, but i do want to meet the people on DA that are going.

fanime also means i won't be able to update my page for a while. hopefully i'll get lots of drawing done.

whaddya know? i reached over 1500 pageviews and no one told me about it

this month is the last month of school for the semester. study schedules and people's mental capabilities are collapsing everywhere. i know my sanity is being held together by the thinnest of threads right now. the only thing that's keeping me going is Fanime and all of the sketches i've been giving out as gift art. this week my motivation is spending boatloads of money on dinner, and going to watch van hellsing with my dormmates.

i've been adding a lot of people to my watch list. many of them are artists that i've admired for YEARS and just discovered that they joined DA. so if you have time, visit and bow to her awesomeness.

changing little things to my main page. new ID, new avatar, and trying to go for a much cleaner appearance. even with my dorm connection here it takes ages to load my page sometimes.

i'm also trying to change up my drawing style. i'm looking for new things to inspire how to draw eyes, as well as a new marker technique to experiment with.

to cure myself from boredem and to get motivated to do more art, i am now taking requests. now before you go " oooh! oooh! i want hot yaoi gundam wing action CGed plz!" i have a few rules.

In Order to Qualify:
1. You MUST be on my friends list, watch list, and/or watch me
2. acknowledge that this WILL TAKE TIME. therefore all of you MUST be patient with me.

and now for the fun part.

1. TWO CHARACTER LIMIT
2. No yaoi/yuri. Shonen Ai/Shoujo Ai is fine.
3. No yiff. I'm horrible at drawing furries if you ever bother to look at my gallery.
4. No animals. I can't draw fish, much less cats, dogs, lizards, rabbits, birds, lemurs and what have you.

why is this a good thing? because it irritates me to no end when really crappy art from popular artists are put up in the daily favorites. why are these crappy pieces of art put up on the front page? because (1) their fanbase is INCREDIBLY stupid and decide to join the +fav bandwagon along with the other INCREDIBLY stupid. OR (2) their art clubs/cliques/groups/cults conspire and vote up one member's art. not exactly an impartial way to have your art appear on the front page, now does it?
