On a lighter note, the animated film My Little World from July Films looks like it's nearing completion and I am exstatic. I've been closely watching this develope for a few years now. It looks positively enchanting. I was really blown away. The movie is incredible, but nothing what I expected. A real true drama about how cruel life can be, but how wonderful dreams can make it. All those other fantasy movies really pale in comparison. I highly reccomend it, but it's definitely not for the faint of heart. It's rated R for a reason.

This is what fantasy movie's should be, but I guess actors aren't good enough to do this. So we turn to animation (Which I have no problem with because, frankly, I think most actors and special effects can only be done properly through animation). At any rate, I was blown away by the scale, the story, the characters, and the concepts. A real work of art. All I want to do is see it again.

I read through the first two or so chapters and felt like throwing up. The novel just *feels* like it's written by a child. The word choice, the cliche story, the thin characters and their lame dialogue. I got sick of it very quickly, threw it back in his face and said it read like it was written by a child that hadn't been lectured enough by his English teacher. He told me, "Well yea, it was written by a kid."

Now this ticked me off, because then I was like, "Well hey, anyone can get a book published nowadays. No matter how crappy they write." I figured there had to be somethign more to his writing if he got a publishing out of it, but later I find out he didn't get the publishing because of a hidden talent I could no see, but [u]his parents own the publishing company[/u]. Ha ha ha! "Hey kiddo! Whatcha want for Christmas? Oh, you're writing a book? Aw, that's cute. Hey, want mommy to publish it for you?" Nepotism at it's finiest, I say. I pretty much lost all respect for it after that. So, of course, I'm not going to pay to see the movie. I might see it when it comes out on television to appreciate the cinimatic and graphical values.

But this is sad. Since the start of the rediculously undeservingly *huge* fanbase of Harry Potter, film writers have been opening their doors to mediocre fantasy movies. I'm so sick of it. What about the great authors that don't get nearly as much attention? Like Steven Brust and Terry Prachett (Well, he kinda gets the respect he deserves), but the point is that mediocrity is the new standard. I know people who claim to love fantasy to death and pride themselves on being fast readers and loving great literature, but can't read through the first LOTRs book (And I'm not kidding or making this up). But they can read all five Harry Potter books in a few days. They can't even read a *real* novel like The Screwtape Letters or War and Peace (...Well, I'll forgive that but it really is a great read, people!)

Yay for adults having the inability to read past a fourth grade reading level...This seriously scares me.



OH! But if you want to see a *real* worthwhile fantasy movie, go see Pan's Labyrinth on December 29th! It looks to be amazing.

Well, I finally ordered a laptop! And I already bought WoW. So now it's just a matter of it getting custom-built and shipped to me. ^.^ I'm so excited!


But now I'm looking more towards future matters, like the new expansion and how awesome the Draenei look. I can't stand how excited everyone is getting of the blood elves and how little attention Draenei are getting. I mean, on the WoW website there are 12 pages of screen shots and only 3 of those screenshots actually have draenei in them and there are none of the females. The blood elves are a recycled race with different colors, a slightly different design, and evil. The Draenei are completely different and cool as God. :3

At any rate, for those who care, I'm going to be starting my character sometime next week. I'll be playing a Female Warrior Orc named SwampRose on Lightning Hoof. Anyone who plays Horde and happens to be in that area can stop by and say hello. :3

And if anyone plays let me know what you play and where you play. Where I have friends will influence what servers I make characters on.

*sigh* I've been cruisin' DA today and just remembering how much I miss this place. I bought myself a new sketchbook so maybe I'll be able to actually finish something.

I've been really working on the stories for three of my old characters: Kernal, Vivica, and Klip. I created them years ago and gave them each a kind of rough background, but over the years their stories really developed. And then they began to entwine to the point of where they're all together now. I really gotta get it down on paper, and then maybe I'll post it because its the first thing I've written in a while that's going along the way I like it. Anyway, I'll probably be drawing Kernal a lot. I really love him to death. ^.^
It's probably because I've been listening to so much Our Lady Peace. That band reminds me of all my characters.

At any rate, I've really been obsessing over Bitey lately(Bitey of Brackenwood, for those who don't know- [link] ). The animations are so incredible and Bitey is such an awesome asshole that I really just want to draw him. I love badass satyrs and I love any creature that can run a million miles an hour.

Did I mention I got a second job? Because that would explain my severe lack of ....anything. I'm a Game Advisor at Gamestop. :3

I'm saving for a good number of things, inclkuding a laptop and a better car, so that's wht I'm doing with my summer. Hopefully, with my laptop, I'll have more incentive to color things. (Or I'll get caught up in WoW and loose my soul).

Anyways, just a couple of things I wanted to mention.
Firstly, the dude at Penny Arcade officially went up a notch in my book because Tycho reads Steven Brust, who is the greatest author in fantasy right now. It's so very rare that I find another person who truly enjoys his work, so I'm just glad to see other readers. ^.^

X3 has redefined the bad quality of comic>movie. It was sooooooo bad. Even the action scenes weren't that cool. Like Colossus and Wolverine did the Fastball Special, but it was so lame. He didn't even go fast. And it had that lame 'I'm being carried across the stage on strings' look.


There were two redeeming factors of the movie. One thing made me crack up so hard I could forgive the attrocities of this movie and it was this one twelve second scene right here:

I can't believe he actually said that....

The other occured after the credits in a small ten second blip that made me feel a little better about a lot of the shit funneled into this film. So many crappy things happened that didn't need to at all...and definitely not enough cool stuff happened.

Like Beast barely did anything cool. He had one cool fighitng scene in the movie that was kinda blurred around so you couldn't even see much. The main portion of the movie revolved around Jean (AKA Pheonix AKA 'I stand and stare at you while shit explodes around me') The movie was riddled with plot holes and most characters didn't get enough air time because they crammed it with way too much of Jean's emo bi-polar crap. I was really disapointed.

I just took a gander through the big new E3 list and I'm very impressed. ^.^ Seems like there's a lot of really amazing-looking games coming out in the next few years.

The one game creating the most hype is probably this one:

Super Smash Brothers Brawl! Introducing Metaknight from Kirby, Pitt from Kid Iccarus (Awesome!!!!), Zero-Suit Samus, and Wario (About time!).
...oh, and I almost forgot SNAKE!!!! Snake from Metal Gear Snake? Yes, that Snake. He will be a playable character. Imagine that!

Then there's Super Mario Galaxy, whch is the classic standard Mario for the new system. Looks really nice.

And Star Fox DS is going to be the first good Star Fox since Star Fox 64. It looks *amazing*.

And then there's the Zeldas, of course: Twilight Princess and the Phantom Hourglass. In all honesty, I'm actually more excited for Phantom Hourglass, because I know it'll abuse the DS peripheral like nobody's business.

And then there's some interesting new games I haven't heard much about like Saddness, Too Human, Mass Effect, Huxley, etc. They all look pretty cool. We'll see how they come out.
And then there's games I've been waiting to come to America for a while now, like Narutimate Heros and Okami. They've created quite a bit of hype.

At any rate, I'm a content little gamer with her tummy full of previewing goodness.

After reading some of the replies to 's journal, I have to get something off my chest. (It's nothing that said, it's just some of the people replying).


When Squaresoft and Enix merged it was their attempt to snag the big markets on both sides of the ocean: While Squaresoft sold relatively well in the US and Japan, Enix sold *Phenomenally* well in Japan and was almost unheard of in America (And by '*Phenomenally*' I mean millions more copies than any SS game sold there).

So they merged in 2003 to get the best of both markets. It was a logical business movement. However, many people seem to believe that because of the 'Enix' part in Square Enix the games started to majorly blow after the merger.

IT IS NOT BECAUSE OF ENIX THAT SQUARE STARTED SUCKING!!!!!!! Square started sucking back in 2000-2001 when they made their first full length movie Final Fantasy: Spirits Within and their first half-length movie Final Fantasy X. If I recall correctly, those monstrosities came out before 2003 when the merger happened. Now, I find everyone complaining about 'too much cinema' in these crappy 'Square Enix games' and how "God! Why did Sqare have to merge with Enix? Enix SUCKS!" and "I blame Enix for all misfortunes that fall upon the earth!" Do you remember how long you had to play through FFX just go start fighting on the map?!?!


You know what? It's both of their faults. Before the merger, Square released Final Fantasy X and began working on Final Fantasy X-2 *before* the merger and Enix was working on Star Ocean 3. Therefore, it's both of their faults, not just Enix. Enix produced a harem of wonderful *Amazing* games that either never made it to America or didn't sell too great, for some reason. Star Ocean 2: The Second Story still stands as my favorite game ever. And every Dragon Warrior ever made sold over 4 million copies, more than any other FF of their time except for FFVII. And Bust-a-groove was another great game I loved. Anyone remember Valkyrie Profile? Yea, that *wasn't* a Squaresoft game, contrary to popular ignorant belief. And Enix also worked on Grandia II, considered to be one of the greatest RPGs of all time. (And they worked on Grandia Extreme, which despite the one save point in the game, was great)

So to people who say 'Enix sucks', don't be ignorant. It's not that Enix sucks, its just that Square Enix sucks. So here's the formula.

Square=Good. Enix=Good. Square Enix=Sucks.

Done with this semester! ^.^ I finished my last final and I think I did pretty good on it. Yay! Several months of freedom. I'm getting a second job at Gamestop.


And on a ranty sidenote, every other hardcore Magic player in this world is a big fat asshole. I swear to god its true (At least for the ones I find online). I was just about to join a Magic forum, but after reading a few posts, usually where someone relatively new posted a deck and would ask for some feedback on it, some *huge* dick would post a really nasty insulting essay about how they clearly don't know the inner workings of cards and had everything wrong and should just go an kill themselves. I'm serious. Go to any thread with Magic players and withing five or six posts it turns into a huge argument/debate/fecal-throwing monkey fest. It's really unfortunate, because just about every Magic player I know in real life is cool.

It's just...goddamn, why do some people have to be so friggen elitist? Same problem in Warhammer...

For the longest time people have been nudging at me to get WoW, but I've been extremely hesitant because once you get into WoW you sell your soul to Blizzard. But my boyfriend just got it and won't stop bragging about how cool it is. He let me try it out and create a character and now I'm hooked. So I'm pissed, because now I have to go buy myself a laptop and this game and subscribe myself to it and it'll cost a ton of money....Stupid WoW....



On the flip side, I found a copy of Rez at my local gamestop, which used to be one of the rarest gimicky games ever created. I remember looking up a copy, because I heard it was good and the cheapest one was going for $200. It seems to be much easier to find now, but still...I'm glad I got a copy. The game is really cool.

's main account got frozen. I'm really pissed about this, because they said she was frozen for scamming, but I know for a fact that's not true. I don't think there's anyway I can make the de-frosting process go any faster, but I'm just saying that the TNT is going a little crazy lately with enforcing their stupid rules. For example, I got a warning the other day for entering the AG on multiple accounts....which I've done about once a week for the past year and never got in trouble for it once. It's not against the rules...or at least not listed.

I was contacted by a Disney intern yesterday who was promoting Pirates of the Caribbean 2. He knew there was a gaming club at C.W Post and wanted to give us tons of *free stuff* like tons of boosters from the Pirates of the Caribbean card game and giant promo posters. I told him to ship it all to my house. So guess what...?

I'm getting tons of free piiiiiiiirate stuff! I'M GETTING TONS OF FREE PIIIIIIIRATE STUFF!!!!!!!!!!


And I decided I'm going to drop Chemistry. I talked to my teacher and he convinced me that its very possible for me to still pass, but I told him that if I don't pass the next test then I'm going to take an Unofficial Withdrawal and take it again in a different semester.

So now we can't enter on side accounts? How lame is that? I was planning on beefing out Joshy with some trophies and now I can't.

I'm not going to let it get to me though, because the way I see it...what deems a main account your main account anyway? Just because you do most of your activities on it? What I usually do to keep my accounts balanced, and what I've seen most people do, is every month or two, switch your side account to your main account and work on that one for a while. I've done this for a long time and have never gotten trouble for it and as far as I'm concerned, as long as you only do it with one account at a time, there's nothing wrong with it.

Sephiroth is sooooooooo much harder in KHII than he was in KHI, which is funny, because that means that Sephiroth is a force to be seriously recconed with in every game except Final Fantasy VII. Lol. ^.^ I mean, you could beat him without much difficulty at level 60 and he was a damn pushover at level 80 or higher. In KHI he could still get the best of you at level 100.

So I spent the first three days of it in New York City (Since it's only a short drive from Long Island)with my boyfriend Chris and two of our friends from Southampton. We went to see V For Vendetta which was an awesome movie. I loved it. ^.^
The next day we spent at the Nintendo store, which was pretty cool. It's really meant for people with a Nintendo DS, because they sell tons of peripheral for it and have lots of stuff for DS people to do.
The best thing in that entire store was their wide array of Pokemon merchandise. It was here that I was fated to meet my one true love:





Meet Mr.Pants. He's the best...ever...period. Don't question him. He will stompify your face. He's always mad because he's so cute.


Aside from Mr. Pants, I got some free poke-crap from old reserves and some real tasty pizza. And I watched tons of movies: The Village (It was almost a really cool movie. If only those kick-ass monsters were real!), Robocop, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (Again!), Last Action Hero, and a whole lot of Legends of the Hidden Temple and Figure it Out.


I love visiting the City. ^.^ And I love Pants. =3

KH2 finally started picking up again. Ughh, after Ariel's level, I didn't know what to expect. *Shudders at the thought to half-naked pre-teen dolphin Sora bopping to stupid 'finny' lyrics* That was disturbing.


On a random note, I really really want to see Benchwarmers. That movie looks so stupidly funny! And if the entire movie isn't only fat kids getting pelted with baseballs, I'll be pissed!

I'm not even kidding. I signed up for a counseling program for extra credit in my Psychology class and we did an excersize on time management. We had to write down how many hours we spent each day doing important things like traveling, hygene, time your in class, time you work on classwork out of class, studying, errands, clubs, meeting people, working, sleeping, eating, etc...
Anyways, you were supposed take however many hours a day you spent doing that and multiply it by seven to see how many hours of free time you had each week. I racked up 167 hours of time I spent either working in class or at my job or sleeping, etc. Everything I have to do on a daily basis came up to 167 hours a week. And there's only 168 hours in a week. So I have exactly one hour of free time out of the whole week. Chemistry has sapped me of most of that time. As has meeting with peoples around campus as I desperately try to work out a co-op.

Anyways, it sucks. I really want to finish my pictures and petpages and do fun stuff, but I'm so damn busy. I can't wait for this semester to end. -.-

...Huh...I find it terribly funny that my stupidest deviation has gotten over one-thousand views. Just goes to show you that people really can't get enough of penises...even if they are poorly drawn. :3
Anyway, this little notice caught my attention mostly because they offered me a print account for a discount price and threw a bunch of encouraging slogans my way. So, I'm curious...if I made a prints account, would anyone want a print of anything? Be honest. I'm not going to be offended if you don't want anything, but I'd like to know if there's anyone out there that, for some reason, really wants a print of mine and never let me know previously. o0 It's one thing if people actually want to buy my pictures, but I'll be livid if a bunch of my friends come on and tell me to get one and I end up wasting $14-whatever. e.e

Day 1: We leave at about 3:30 from campus since It takes an hour and a half to get there. Me and two other people took our cars while the rest took a big party bus. I stopped by my house and got my sister, and we kept going. About ten minutes before we arrive we get a phone call from the bus saying that they had to go back because one of the other drivers got into a car accident. We were kinda worried, but it turned out everyone was fine and they got their eventually. We spent all our time in the dealer's room and bought tons of crap. On the first day I got a really cool vynl Neji figurine with a changable head and arm so he can either be staring down at you with two fingers held up or he can take off his headband, hold it in one hand, and stare at you with the seal showing. Day 2: We get there relatively early again and went straight to the dealers room. One thing I wanted to leave with was a really cool General Grevious figurine, but I could only find three: one was $90 from Clone Wars and not poseable, one was much cheaper, but really small and lame, and another was just a bust. Finally, I found an awesome twelve-inch fully-poseable Grevious figurine with arms that split into four and came with four lightsabers. And he was only $25. Completely awesome. ( [link] )
After buying stuffs, we went down to the gaming area, where they had Super Smash Brothers Melee, Sould Calibur III, Street Fighter 3rd Strike, Guitar Hero, Naruto GNT4, Narutimate Heros 3, Mugen, and Guilty Gear. We entered the tournament for Guilty Gear and I did pretty crappily. I only beat two guys before I got taken out by a really nasty Faust player. However, my buddy Jason who won first last year managed to get third this year even though he didn't practise. My boyfriend (Chris) and Jason also entered the 3rd Strike tournament and got third and second, respectively. (I didn't enter, because I don't pride myself in 3rd strike at all). We stayed there for a few hours before a Gai and Lee cosplayers saw Chris (Who was jiraiya) and asked if he would come to the photoshoot.
So we headed down to this big circle of about 200 cosplayers. There was a big naruto photo and then a Final Fantasy one. After that, Rock Lee challanged and Anko cosplayer to a battle. Lee got drunk and actually did a really good job of avoiding Anko's attacks. Then a Kakashi jumped on Anko and held her down. Then a Vash jumped in and tore Kakashi off. Then a Cid came in a tried to stab Lee. Then Tenten came and started throwing kunais at Anko. Then a Kisame ran in with a full nine-foot tall scaled sword and swung at everyone. The the Ghostbusters came in the Ecto-1 and began yelling at everyone. Eventually, it turned into The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny. So awesome. XD


Day 3: This was the slow day. We got there late and then realized we didn't have our passes and had to drive all the way back. We Beastmaster's autograph and I bought Mad Cow Disease. Lol. Apparently, there's this website that makes giant replicas of miscroscopic diseases ( [link] ) . My boyfriend got AIDs, my little sister got The Pox (Which was really cute), and our other friend Brad got The Clap. There was also The Common Cold, The Plague, Hepititus, Teburculosis, and a whole bunch of others. Apparently, a donation is made to the study of whatever disease you buy when you buy it. And they're so damn cute. X3 We went down to the gameroom to participate in the Soul Calibur III and Tekken 5 tournaments. I got third in the SCIII Tournie and Chris got second, winning a nifty little Suikoden V art book and soundtrack. We all did relatively well in the Tekken 5 tournie, considering that none of use had played since last year. I got fifth or something, Chris got fourth I think and got third again.
We hung around fo r a bit longer then we all went out to White Castle for some gross burgers.


But yea. I-Con was a blast again. We've decided to go to ConnettiCon too, so I'll see ya'll there.

...Let me clarify.
Before I came to Deviant, I was a young budding artist on Elfwood: a warm small community that's rather closely knit compared to Deviant. When I first started, I didn't have a clue. A few artists like and helped me find my place and were great friends to newbies like me. But my absolute end-all be-all favorite artist in the world was Quel. She had a beautiful realistic, yet someone cartoony, fantasy style that I adored. She was also friendly, for the most part, and visited my gallery a few times leaving me nice, encouraging comments (when I realized she did I nearly fainted).
Then, about a year or two later, her gallery vanished. Her website that I checked daily also vanished. Even her secret updating mailing list, that she only gave out to people she trusted, vanished. She completely disapeared from the internet. I sent her emails asking why she took all of her beautiful work off the web and she never answered. Finally, one of her closer friends fessed up in a forum that Quel, who was literally plagued with art theft, had taken every piece of art she had ever done off due to uncontrollable stealing.
It hurt so much not being able to see the beautiful pictures she created and I really missed her sarcastic sense of humor and wonderful characters. I don't think she realized it, but she inspired me so much and helped me so much.
On her website, she had tutorials on how to use PSP7, which looked like the best program in the world to me. I bought it because she used it. And I learned how to use it from her tutorials. The reason I created my own tutorials on the program was because she took hers off the web and I felt that they were too good to lose.
I printed out tons of her pictures and posted them on my doors. I loved her art so much. And today I can only find it on a small print-ordering website. I can't even get a full view of anything. I'm just glad I can see some new stuff she does and be relieved that she's still drawing.


I don't know why I'm going off here. I think I just wanted to say that this is what art theft truly does: it tears artists apart and forces them to vanish. vanished too, sadly. So have a lot of other fantstic artist I known. I never want to vanish and I don't want anyone else to vanish. So please, don't steal art. You will get caught eventually, and what's it worth? Whoo hoo, people think you can draw for a little while...is it worth making the artist that you admire so much remove themselves from everyone else? I don't think so...

More Battlefront II, that game is the shit. Anyone who likes Halo, or hates Halo because its overrated but still likes shooters, should definitely get it, because it blows Halo out of the water...in my opinion. Much better lasting value.

I'm a happy little camper, because I was starting to get a little disapointed in Radiata Stories. I was 20 hours into the game and nothing interesting had really happened storyline-wise, but it all just turned around. About halfway through the game you get to choose sides on a war: human or non-human. I went for non-human, so now all humans are my enemies. But now things are really picking up. I got this rediculously badass light elf on my team named Gil, and he's probably one of my favorite video game characters I've seen in a long time. =3
I really reccomend picking up a copy if you enjoyed Star Ocean, Tales of Symphonia, Final Fantasy IX, or Suikoden. It's almost like a big combination of the best elements out of them.

Disney is sticking to the only thing it does good anymore: turning good books into good movies. Bridge to Terabithia is coming out sometime at the end of this year. That book was one of my favorites when I was a kid, so I really hope they do it right.

Not a huge fan of Halo, but the Halo movie can't be anything to scoff at. I'm sure it's exactly the same as the game is entertainment-wise: Really really cool the first two or three times, then quite boring.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian kind of explains itself as far as awesomeness goes. I don't think I even have to mention what these books mean to me and how thankful I am that Disney did such a fantastic job with the movies.

Swiss Family Robinson was a really badass original, so I really hope they don't screw it up in a remake.

Castlevania better be cool. It just BETTER be cool otherwise I will tear Dimenson Films a new one.

Here's one that took me by surprise: Transformers. I'm so excited about this. The Transformers kick ASS! And Dreamworks is doing it, so the chances of it sucking are slim.

There's, like, three films coming out that have to do with Superman or Batman. And one of them is Superman vs. Batman (Lol@that). I don't know what to think of them, really, but Batman Begins was phenomenal, so I assume they'll be good.

A live action Kiki's Delivery Service sounds a little hard to chew, but eh. It won't be any skin off my nose if it sucks balls.

The ones that I KNOW are going to suck are Terminator 4 (Unless it's only about the robot wars and has a completely different cast, this can only suck), Indiana Jones 4 (Harrison Ford is way too old to be doing this, which means some new dumbass is going to be pretending to be Indiana. Lame!), Jurassic Park 4, (What's with all these fours? At any rate, if this isn't about how the dinosaurs are invading America and trying to take over, it'll be lame), Back to the Future IV (Again with the friggen four....This is self explanitorily-lame.)


So the rule of thumb for 2006 films is: Don't see anything with a '4' in it, because it will suck heavily.

Anyways, that's not the important thing.


Anyone who knows me knows I deeply, truly, and utterly love imagination. I love people who would rather put forth a creation from their hearts than conform to what makes money in society now. There's still things out there that do it. And I'm going to name them off.

One, my current favorite, would be Alias Comics. They're all imaginative brilliant geniuses down there. I was always a big comic tycoon, but I was always kinda meh about the sterotyical hero comics. I felt like they were lacking. Alias Comics have put the heart, magic, and imagination back into story, characters, and new worlds. Here's an example:




Lullaby, my new favorite comic. It's about Alice, from Alice in Wonderland, who is thrown into Wonderland due to a car accident (Involving, swerving to avoid a white rabbit). She has practically no memory of her past and the Queen of Hearts takes advantage of her and forces her to become the General of her army. After a while there's an evil that becomes present and Alice needs to travel to Oz (Yes, THAT Oz) to stop it. Along the way she joins up with Jim Hawkings (From Treasure Island), The Pied Piper, Pinnochio, and Little Red Riding Hood. But here's the catch, they're all styled to be semi-anime badasses. Alice weilds a sword. Jim's sword has a sentient shark's head and bites rather than slashes. It's just soooo...goddamn....cool. And the art is gorgeous. Nothing half-ass there. I'm totally in love with everything about it.

And the kicker is I just discovered that the dude who does the art for the comic is right here on Deviantart! . is the master. If you can't fathom the coolness I'm trying to describe, please please PLEASE take a look at this dude's gallery and see some of the beautiful pages out of this wonderful comic.

This is another one I discovered at a comic store. It's the cutest little story I ever read. (And pretty much a mirror image of my childhood). It's about this kid named Joey whose Grandmother buys him a set of four stuffed-animal big cats: A lion, a panther, an orange tiger, and a white tiger. Later on, he finds out that the stuffed animals come to life during the night to protect him from bad dreams, the monsters in his closet and under the bed, and generally things that go bump in the night. What's cool about it though is that the cats are so badass when they come alive. It's sick. So basically, Joey has to use his imagination to combat the forces of the beasties before they destroy him. (Basically, conjuring up an army of hardcore imaginary friends).


I just really really love imaginary crap like this. There's really nothing cooler. :3

What happened to the definition of 'Creativity'? And I don't mean this in the way that the sudden uprising of 'Creativity clubs' mean it. I'm seeing it like this; moreso than ever, people talking about how there's no such thing as creativity anymore, (Mostly, on Neopets) and how the BC and AG won't let anything creative in anymore, but then they show me their character designs...and its the same thing I've seen in every other gallery ten trillion times. I'll have this conversation with someone every once in a while over neomail/email, or on a board, or in a guild. And it always goes just like this;

"Yea, Neopets never lets creative things into the BC or AG anymore. It's so unfair."
"Well, let me see your design."
"Oh its soooo cool and original! My godly lupe with wings and a tattoo over one eye and the ability to shapeshift is the coolest."
"Well...yea, that's cool, but...it's been done....?"

And god forbid you mention to someone that their design is not as original as they'd like to think. They'll go batshit on you. It's completely rediculous. I'm not bashing wolfy/catty things with wings tattoos. They're cool concepts, but don't try to convince me that you're the first person to think it up.


You know, I never claimed to have original designs. Hell, my pets are probably quite UN-original since they almost always look quite similar to the Neopets original designs...just in my style and with backstories I created. I'll never say "Steal this concept and DIEEE! It's mine! I thought it up completely by myself!!!!!", because I'll give the benifit of the doubt that the so-in-so in question may have just gotten the same idea as me. (Plus, I don't care that much) It just seriously irks me the wrong way when people brag and brag and brag about how completely unique their ideas are...when they're just like everyone elses. -.-


Edit: I think I got sidetracked at some point. I just want everyone to know that this post isn't complaining against lack of creativity exactly, it's complaining about the people who complain about lack of creativity who claim they're the ones who are going against the flow, but they're actually part of it. And then they go on grand cullings against anyone who has a character that's remotely similar to their own.

It's pretty much just a sweeter version of Naruto 3. A few more characters, some spiced-up specials, and some cool new levels, but the best thing about it, by far, is the beefed-out team attack mode. For all of those who played the last game, you know how completely and utterly lame team attack mode was (Which was terribly dissapointing, because the whole show is about good ninja teamwork). Team attack now is pretty much the most ninja thing ever. You can literally start a combo as Temari, then have Gaara pop behind the guy and chuck sand at him for a while, then have Kankuro drop down from above with his puppet. And then they do a super-insane team special that does an assload of damage. X3

I just love dem Naruto GC games! First one's out in America, I hear. Though the first one sucks, it might not be a bad idea to try it out, for anyone who hasn't tried these games yet.


And I'm not one of those people that find a really awesome artist and fav evey single picture they do because it's awesome, but I have a real hard time holding back when I visit 's gallery. *bites lip* Soooo beautiful!

Well, I finally got through my busy week. I *know* I bombed my Chem test, but I think I did fine on my Psych test and two papers due. All I got left is a lab and a midterm on Monday.

Radiata Stories is growing on me. Such a cool game. Jack's outfit completely changes when he changes armor, so I love buying every armory I can find and just seeing how cool it looks. =3 My boyfriend's got Dragon Quest VIII, so we're going to trade when we're both done.

I'm so pressed for time this weekend. I wanted to color all those little scraps I uploaded, but I have two tests to study for and a paper due. -.- Arg!!! I hate it when everything happens within a day of each other.

On the flip side I bought Radiata Stories, because there was a decent price break ($29.99). I really like it so far. Especially the main character. I always love really plucky smart-ass main chars, like Zidane. They just keep the story from fermenting because they've always got something funny to say. Best part about the game: You kick things to inspect them. XD I kick everything! You can kick people to start fights with them too. Lol.

Another thing I'm doing right now is my first D&D campaign with a bunch of my friends, who're experienced in the game. I'm playing a super sexy half-orc named Swamp Rose. I'm such a beef tank. I wield a vicious orc double-axe that does 2D8+2D6 damage and 1D6 to me. It's siiiiiiick. =3
And now I'm pregnant with the child of a darwven blacksmith. I don't think the DM was expecting that. XD We'll see how that plays out.

I was lucky enough to be born into a country that's not in war, or stricken with famine, or under attack from the forces of nature, or born onto a culture that treats women like a lower class, or an impoverished third-world country.


I may go hungry, but I never starve. I may not always get what I want, but I get what I need. I may not be brilliant, but I'm smart enough to get by. I have a job, I have a family, I have an education, and I have life.
Just be grateful for whatever you have. Always. Because it can all be gone instantly at any time. And there is *always* someone who has it worse than you...always.



That aside, I found my sketchbook and I'll probably be uploading some new stuff tomorrow when I get back from work. Yay for a five-day weekend!

Now, of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you don't like the Final Fantasy series then I can't make you. So I decided to check this guy's board out and see exactly why he hated Final Fantasy. And, as usual, it turns out that he didn't hate Final Fantasy, he just said the series went downhill after FFVIII.

Now why does every "FF hater" say that? It''s not that they hate the series, they just hate everything after FFVIII. And the funniest part is, I find out most of them haven't played anything before FFVII. Now, for those who don't know, I'd like to point out that FFVII and FFVIII were produced by a completely different director. And FFIX went back to Kazuhiko Aoki and that's why it looks and feels like one of the older Final Fantasys. In truth, Final Fantasy IX combines the best of the old with the best of the new: The nice mideval setting, plucky main character, twisting plot, but a lot of adult themes and violence. It was a ray of sunshine on the depressing world that FFVII and FFVIII left us in (Good games, but the main characters were so sullen). So if FFIX pisses you off with its nice bright characters with rich story to them and more fantasy style then how can you possibly like anything in the series before FFVII?


So I conclude that these people are not "FF Haters" but "Elitist FFVII and FFVIII Babies". FUCK you!!!!

I really want to be good with him(her?), but the combos people pull off simply aren't possible, but aren't being roman-cancelled either...so, I am left at a loss....-.-


I love candy. I'll never weigh less than 130 lbs because can't give up candy. X3

I picked up a copy of Pokemon Ruby Version the day before yesterday and I've already sunk 21 hours into it....would it be an understatement to say I have a rather addictive personality?


And I just wanted to give a big "Fuck You" to people who bash pokemon. As a hardcore gamer, I can honestly say that pokemon, though its formula has barely changed in four generations, is such a solid game that people will buy it regardless. Its just works so well.

Bwaaahahaaa. My Mudkip is already a Swampert. X3 Yay for Arons!

Anyways, I got my tablet and programs installed again (yay!), but I still have no scanner (boo!). So nothing exceptionally pretty for a while. Hopefully soon though, the Festival of Buzz is fast approaching and I really want to do something new, though I'm entering a lot of old pictures I've done as well. Hopefully, I'll get in. I have another goal on Neopets: A darigan Hissi. (High roller).

Sorry, I feel like I've been gone for so long that I should mention what's going on.

First of all, about three months ago I was diagnosed with Fibroadenoma, which is tumorous breast tissue. No, I don't have cancer and I'm not going to die. I just had a larger than usual tumor in my titty. So I got it removed about two weeks ago and I feel fine, but the thing about fibroadenoma is that it can happen more than once. So I might just get another one.

Also, I now have access to a computer, but I don't have a scanner or any painting programs. So I still won't be getting any new work up for a while. But I have some stuff that really needs to be colored, so when I get my scanner back, I'll have a nice fat update.

Then I turned 19 on the 27th (yay!). So happy birthday to me.

On a lighter sidenote, after a month of begrudgingly sent home from Gamestop, the demo for Shadow of the Collossus is out.
Being a huge fan of Ico, I've been utterly infatuated since I first heard about it. Basically, your some hot warrior out to slay 16 collossi in order to re-awaken your comatose girlfriend. There's no sidequests, no villages or cities to visit (Hell, other than you, your girlfriend, and your noble steed, there's no one else) just 16 incredible boss battles and the puzzle of figuring out how to take them down. Regardless, this game is goddamn work of art. The horse looks and acts [i]real[/i] and taking down a stone and moss monster a thousand times your size is probably one of the most exhilerating feelings in the world. Not to mention the beautiful landscape (people thought it was for a next gen system). Definitely something gamers should pick up. Comes out September 20th.

Firstly, the drive was no picnic. Five hours of staring through a windsheild. Luckily, Chris, my boyfriend, was my navigator and got me through flawlessly.
We stayed at our buddy Ian's house, which was a nice cozy house about half an hour outside Baltimore. We drove in on Thursday to wait in line with about 15,000 other people for pre-registration. Interestingly enough, the line went by rather quickly.
Much fun was to be had! I got lots of pictures of awesome cosplays like a cactaur, Trogdor, Testament (GGXX), Ashton (Star Ocean 2), and about a million more. I ran out of film halfway through day two. Woe is me. ;-; I bought a little Neji and Naruto display of them fighting together and a Urahara stand.
The second day was the day of gaming. I entered the Tekken 5 and Naruto GNT3 tourtament. We ended up not entering the GGXX Reloaded one because the format was still the XBox one and they didn't have PS2 controller converters. ;-; I didn't care too much because I got ownzored in both (In Tekken I lost gracefully to a much more talented Stevie fighter, but in Naruto I got cheesed out by someone who only did one move as Gaara. I hope he's proud of himself. I'm still pissed.)
The last day was pretty chill. We spent the last of our money, mine on a bunny and kitty hats and Chris on a nice katana. Oh, and I bought a beautiful print from . She was awesome. ^.^ And then we went and saw Piano Squall, which was probably the coolest thing we did there. He was absolutely amazing! He played the opening theme to Eva, Time's New Scar from Chrono Cross, Terra's theme from FFVI, Frog's Theme from Chrono Trigger, and Sadness and Sorrow from Naruto. It was extremely cool.

People, if you like anime and gaming music, and you know you do, do yourself a favor and download some stuff from Piano Squall's site.> [link]


And just to go on a bit of a rant here: FFIX does not suck because the graphics are different. If you want to hate it, hate it for some other reason. The style is more 'fantasy' than any of the other FF's to come out since FFVI. If you're spoiled because FFVIII looked more realistic then FFIX, get the fuck over it. It's called Final Fantasy for a reason. If you want realistic, play Final Realism...or Sci-Fi Fantasy.

Yea, my computer died. It quite literally died. As in, I need a new one. There's so much spyware and so many viruses that it simply doesn't function anymore. Like, even the Task Manager says that 'The task manager isn't responding. Please click end now to stop the operation now.' Luckily, I work at a pretty high-paying job, so I should have enough for a new one within a month, if I work hard enough. So don't expect updates for a while. ^.^;

I also need a new car. And a new bathing suit. And new summer clothes. And an external hardrive.

I need too much stuff.


On a side note, I'm probably going to Otakon in August. Let me know if you're going. Maybe we can meet or something. ^.^

My ultimate posse!!!- http://the-unorthodox.deviantart.com/journal/5068132/ Tue, 12 Apr 2005 09:13:53 PDT I went with me, my sister and seven of my friends: Chris (Who cosplayed Jiraiya), Tim (Who cosplayed Shikamaru), Jill (Who cosplayed Temari), Karen (Who cosplayed Ino), Will (Who cosplayed Kakashi) Mel, and Christina.

Day one:
We get there at about nine and have to stand in line because we were stupid and didn't pre-order our tickets. Tim and Jill were smart and did, so they got in about half an hour before us. We finally get in and manage to push our way into the dealer's room. Within the first ten minutes, I found all three FLCL DVDs, which was the main thing I wanted from there. Then we found a huge table with all these rare soundtracks. I got the original Final Fantasy Tactics soundtrack, Final Fantasy Chrystal Chronicles, and both FLCLs. Then we found another table with posters and keychains and all sorts of little anime merchandising. I got myself a giant Naruto poster with Neji in the front and Lee, Shikamaru, and Kiba hanging in the back. And I also got a Neji keychain and three official forehead protectors for me, my sister, and my cousin.

Day two:
We get there slightly later than yesterday, because we'd bought most of the stuff we wanted. I went to the dealer's room for a little while and picked up the first Star Ocean EX DVD, which made me happy. We also found some cute mini-keychains of the Naruto characters in their poses from the third ending that everyone loves so much. ^.^
Then we headed towards the gaming room where our Jiraiya and Shikamaru competed in the Guilty Gear tournament. Unfortunately, no one mentioned the format had changed from Guilty Gear X2 to Guilty Gear X2 Reloaded, which irked us all. Shika had to leave midway through because he wanted to get Jewel from Firefly's autograph and he ended up being disqualified. -.- Jiraiya did pretty well, but our friend Jason won first, which was really cool.
Later that night we went to the Masquerade, since they couldn't participate in the anime cosplay, since they hadn't registered early. When we got there, we found out they had an age limit on who could enter, so I had to sit outside with while our cosplayers were announced. A guy who welded a Boba Fett costume together ended up winning first, followed by a Killer Clown, from Killer Clowns from Outer Space and a Ghost Busters crew. They were all very good and detailed like crazy, so I had no complaints.

Day Three:
We mostly went this day just for the Tekken 5 tournament they had going, since we had kind of expended ourselves everywhere else. We got there and practised with all the guys there with some Loser Out fun. One guy got about ten wins under his belt with Bruce when my sister came up and destroyed him with Asuka, and then went on to get 16 wins in a row, beating every single guy who competed *twice* and only stopped when the tournament started. I was so proud. The guys there (I used the term 'guys' since there were only three girls there including my sister and I) were either pissed off because they lost to a thirteen year old girl or really impressed with how talented she was. Either way, she was the talk of the whole room. Anyway, I went through the preliminaries undefeated and only lost one round to a guy who was extremely talented with Christie (In fact, afterwards he politely asked for a rematch, which I was more than happy to give to him. He won the first round, then we double-KOed each other, and then he ended up beating me. It was the best Tekken match of my life). I got up to sixth place and then lost by cheese-out to a guy using Feng's shoulder slam. My sister got third and then was cheesed out by the same guy. We didn't mind so much though, because we were so impressed with our performances.

*Note* The fatigue bandana is under my hat. I always wear it. Any of my friends will vouch for that.

I bought Tekken 5 and it's *awesome*. Steve Fox is great! I also got Star Ocean 3 and was kinda disapointed with it. Lesson learned: there is no greater joy than SO2, not even SO3 comes close.

I-Con is this week! (Yay!) Which means I'll be on Stonybrook campus with my friends, who're cosplaying as a Jiraiya, a Shikamaru, and a Temari. If you're there, be sure to look for us.
I'm going to be adding a bunch of photos once I get them back from I-Con. So you can look foward to those. XD As far as artwork goes, I'm not sure. I've been to overwhelmed to be motivated, but I have a few ideas in the burner that have yet to boil. One includes Docos being innovatively lazy. n.n


Work has exhausted me, I think I have Hepititus and Herpes, but I shall prevail. Classes tomorrow...Never thought I'd consider getting to sleep until 8:00 am 'sleeping in'. @.@

I actually picked it up again myself, which was tough, because I originally stopped playing it after I gained about 30-40 levels in the Cave of Trials and then died via Weird Devils. ~.~ But I maaged to get past level 11 and get Meteor Swam for Celine, three Million Staffs, another set of Bunny Shoes, another Seraphic Garb, and most importantly, I got Tr-Ace for Ashton. It's supposed to be his most powerful Killer Move because it's secret and costs 45 MP, but I still think Hurricane Slash (Which deals 9999 damage three to seven times once you get the proficiency up to 999) is best.

Nothing much else is new. I kinda got back into the Gaia community since my friends all made accounts recently, so you might find me on the Game Discussion forum there, if you're lucky. Or you can be my friend! ^.^ My username is, of course, TheUnorthodox.

I'm quite pleased with it. The animation is pretty good. They could do with more action, but I just want to see more Ashton flying around.
The voices are nice too. I love Ashton's Japanese and English voices. Rena's voices are both pretty good too. Celine's English voice is far better than her Japanese voice, simply because whoever does her English voice knows how to play an egocentric, whiny, sexy, bitch spot-on. And Claude's voices are bother pretty good too, although I think I prefer his Japanese one.
The humor is *excellent*. Half the time I'm cracking up on the floor. Ashton is a riot. They dedicate an entire episode to how he gets lost because he was obsessing over barrels too much. XD I love the lil' barrel maniac.
And the DVD came with this card with the current cast of characters on both sides. Nice touch.
My only complaints about it is that they call Claude 'Clode' in the English version for some reason. It bugs the hell out of me. And Ashton, for no reason other than for humor touches, is overbearingly whiny. He's whining about how much his life sucks every minute. He never did that in the game. Oh well, I guess it adds to his charm. =3


My new job isn't so bad. I'm getting along with everyone pretty well and all my co-workers help when I need it. I even have a favorite Client.


Also, how do you guys like my new Webcam? I just put it up yesterday. XD It might as well be my webcam, because all I do all day is 0wnz0r with Neji in Naruto Gektou Ninja Taisen 3.

I've been trying to find downloads for FLCL, but it's a total bitch because it's been licensed. Anyone know of any? Dox would be very grateful if you told her. ;_;

I've got my first day of work tommorow. Sux0rs....

And I'm going to address something that's been royally ticking me off. For some reason, people are whining about this new show called 'Avatar' that's going to be coming out complaining that it's too 'wannabe anime-like' and that it's just America jumping on the anime-obsessing bandwagon, trying to squeeze a pretty buck off it. They also have the same complaints for Teen Titans and some other new shows.
Well I got news for you, Japan didn't invent animation!!!! In fact, the first animation Japan ever got was created by Japanese film hobbyists that were inspired by the animation work done by America and Europe. So they began creating what was the first anime ever: three one-to-five minute long cartoons that were extremely similar to Felix The Cat. If you think about it, all anime is is a perversion of what America and Europe developed. Even the 'Godfather of animation', Dr. Osamu Tezuka, first got interested in animation because of cartoons and comics he imported from America. He started out just copying pictures of Popeye and Mickey Mouse.
Saying that America is 'stealing' Japan's style of animation is obsurd since, if anything, they 'stole' the entire idea from us to begin with.
Just wanted to refresh your memories.
