I cannot thank ^RockstarVanity enough for giving my 2009 Doctor Daemon calendar a Daily Deviation!



I've always wanted a DD. I mean, who wouldn't? But for me, I've personally never felt that any one piece singled out of my gallery would be worthy of receiving this magnificent award. Not because of technical skill or anything, but because I never really felt that any one work out of my gallery could sum me up as a whole, as an artist. I've always felt that when you receive a DD, that one piece represents you as an artist in your skill and your portrayal of the visions seen through your eyes and that that one piece kinda sums you up as a whole. That's the one piece that grabs new attention from unseen eyes, and that's the one piece that's going to pull people into your world of work.

Receiving this honor, especially for my 2009 calendar, is just mind-blowing and I'm RADIANT!!! and honestly speechless. It's the perfect piece for me to receive this award because it encompasses all of my favorite aspects and visions of horror in one collection.

Okay, I've babbled enough. I hope you all enjoy 2009 in all it's no-holds-barred bloody goodness, and your next appointment HAS been confirmed!

Back for it's second year in full-blown, no-holds-barred bloody goodness. Yup, I've compiled a bunch of works, some old pieces I never thought I'd ever bother with but seemed all too gruesomely appropriate, some pieces I've gotten print requests for, some I just couldn't wait to get in here, and ones that have never graced the presence of DA.

And of course, Man Eater, finally in print, for those who've wanted it.

The Doc D calendar is back!

Man, that was FUN. And I'm NOT DONE YET!!! Keep your eyes open for another fellow deviant's '09 artistic glory to last throughout the year.

I'm going to take a quote from $FallenRox's journal, because this is something that is, I feel, immeasurably important.

More little things.... hugs daily- get them, they're good for you. Telling the one you love how special they truly are to you, do it- they deserve to hear it.

I went into this whirlwind of a full-fledged sore, angry rant last night because there is someone in my life who does not do this whatsoever. Not doing these little things, like a loving smile, a hug, the words of how much that person means to you, what you like and love about them, why you treasure and value them in your life... Not doing them can break a relationship.

I am on the verge of breaking up with Mike because he is not capable of understanding how important the little things are. I've tried to talk to him, hoping he'd understand. I prayed he would understand. He doesn't. I can't be in a relationship where I feel ugly, undesirable, neglected and invisible and like I don't matter. No one deserves to feel this way.

Give hugs and tell the ones you love how special they are to you and do it now. They deserve to hear it.

I am back from Florida! Back to my quaint, not-so picturesque crappy hometown. I have to say in a way it is good being back home, back to familiarity, but not back to the daily grind.

My trip to Florida was very bittersweet. It was AWESOME, beyond words, to see Yvonne. I knew her health would not be up to par, but I did not realize the exact severity of the condition she was in. Yvonne didn't withhold it from me; she told me she was dying, but she didn't want to make me worry, make me sad and for me to not enjoy myself during my visit.

Yvonne's sister told me her exact condition. Yvonne has cirrhosis of the liver, and her liver has almost completely shut down. Her body cannot rid itself of the toxins, so she is slowly being poisoned to death. It has made her so weak, so confused, it's heartbreaking. I don't know how I managed to hold the tears in the entire time I was there. The doctors have given her about three months.

But her will...omg, this lady has the most AMAZING will. Her will is what enabled her to do all the things and go all the places with me that we did. I keep hearing her sister's voice in my head, telling me that all Yvonne cared about was me getting down there and showing me a good time. I could totally pick up that Yvonne was embarrassed and upset that we couldn't do a lot of what she wanted to and show me the things she so badly wanted to show me, but she did get me to the beach. And we drove past one of the stores that is an inside joke between she, Mike and I. And I think most importantly, she took me to a store along US 1 that she really, really wanted me to see. The cashier was so sweet and took our picture out in front.

All in all, it was a very bittersweet trip. I wish Mike had been able to go with me because Yvonne wanted to see him badly, and once I told him what was happening, he really, really wished he had made it. Who knows though, maybe we can scrounge together enough moolah so we can both go down, even if it's just for one day.

I took a TON of photos. I'll be putting a lot in my stock account, because I want them to be enjoyed all around.


On the flight down to Florida, someone in the cabin ripped two seriously potent farts that had unbelievable hang time. I'm impressed. But omg, it STUNK. After taking their ass into my lungs for the second time, I tore myself from my Stephen King book and decided that if they ripped a third, I was going to say something.

"Hey!!! I can smell that, you know. So can everyone else on this plane. Go to the bathroom if you have to blast and stay there until the stink dissipates. We can't open a window to air it out, and I don't think anyone wants the panic of the oxygen masks to be deployed. At the rate you're going, it's gonna happen. So please, please, for everyone's health and breathing comfort, take your smelly ass to the back of the plane. WHAT THE HELL DID YOU EAT?!"

Yvonne was discharged from the hospital today. She still doesn't sound 100% but she sounds A LOT better, and her level of anxiousness and excitement for me to come down for my visit is only building. Even when she sounded the worst while she was in the hospital, me going down there was still one of the only things she could talk about.

I just got off the phone with the airline, reconfirming my flight.

Could it be, that this is actually going to happen? In a few days, am I actually destined to soar the skies on my way to Florida?!!

Tell me this is going to happen. Tell me this isn't a dream. Tell me a good thing is going to happen and let it be real. Because right now, everything feels surreal.

Something has come up in which I may not be going to Florida next week after all. I don't know yet, it depends. On many things.

My friend Yvonne who I was going to be visiting has been in the hospital since this past Friday. She has been diagnosed with hepatitis C. *insert emote here for a sharp, stabbing pain to the heart*

Yvonne is a cancer survivor. She's battled a lot in her rough life and won. She is one of the strongest, most lovely ladies I have ever met in my life. She's been begging me and Mike to come down to Florida to visit her since she moved down there back in May. With everything that Mike and I have been through since August, I could feel the walls closing in on me and the desperation to escape it all for a little while building up. That's when back in September I made the decision to book myself on a nice little flight down to Florida to visit Yvonne so we'd hang together again and have so much fun like we did shortly before she moved.

If Yvonne is out of the hospital before I'm scheduled to leave, then Florida here I come! But if not, I'm going to cancel my trip. Mike's not going with me, and I don't at all want to be there while my friend is stuck in a hospital. It'd be awesome to see her even if she was, but not like that, and I wouldn't want to be on the beaches like we've talked about without her.

I just want to cry.

August was too much. More piddly, stupid shit keeps happening but it's nothing horribly life-changing...YET, I should say. Because it really seems like each and every single fucking time we or individually we make some kind of plan to induce some GOOD into our lives, something just HAS to come along to fuck it all up. And now Yvonne is sick.

There really must be a black cloud of persistent bad luck permanently hovering over us. This is where I really want to punch whoever said shit like "Life is what you make of it" and "God only gives us what we can handle and nothing more" in the face. None of us made this bed for ourselves. Nor can we handle it anymore. We've had enough. We didn't do anything to deserve any of this. If the powers that be feel otherwise, then what else do they expect? Have we not paid our price heavily enough?

I'm sorry to go on like this. I just wanted things...Certain things, to make hearts happy. I wanted so bad to swoop Yvonne up in a huge hug and show her some sentimental things I was going to bring with me that I KNOW would make her smile and be all happy and gooey inside. For us to call Mike from the beautiful beach we were planning on spending our time on to brag about why he should have come with me. To take photos of our out of shape selves and text them to him. lol To be there so Yvonne would feel just a little less lonely, and more at home with her closest friends; she misses us so much.

I dunno. All is not said and done and set in stone yet, but I still need to call and get info about flight cancellations.
