So anyway, I had already been doing a lot of fun stuff with my friends (more on that later).
But when vacations were finally here, I found myself lazying around, all day (*gasp* who could’ve thought!). And the worst part, guess what I was doing?

Facefuckingbook.

That’s right. The world’s biggest procrastinating weapon.
Facebook.
I found myself sitting around, playing stupid applications.
Or checking people’s profiles.
And waiting for new notifications to pop up.
I thought that if I checked it enough I’d eventually check all my notifications, and find nothing else to do.

Wrong.

The more you use it, the more it uses you. I’d go take a shower, and eat dinner, and I’d find 20 new notifications to check. Fuck.
And then I’d log in on dA, and find the journals and watchlist piling up and up.
Fuck that. I spend all my time keeping up with facebook (more like gossipbook), and couldn’t pay attention to my art?

So I just did it.
Right there.

I closed my facebook.

I’m on vacations people, I cannot handle society right now. Not 24/7, not inside my effin’ house.

And I’ll tell you something.
Damn.

Boy, I've been waiting to truly play that song on Guitar Hero for a looong while.

Today was officially my last day of school (damn makeup calculus tests!) So I'm completely free now.
I'm only waiting for Wednesday, which is the day of my graduation.
We senior in Dominican Republic have this tradition of making a lot of money through school, and then use it to party and have a blast, however we see fit.

Basically, we spend the entire high school years rising up money, and when we finally hit senior year, and end school, we use it to pay a trip for the whole senior class.
We all go to a beach resort for as little as a weekend, and up to a whole week, depending on the money we've raised.
We all go to a beach resort, pay up rooms for everyone, and party. A lot.
This means we get all the food we can eat, all the alcohol we can drink, and all the sun we can get tanned on before our skins start to peel.

I'm not sure how many places out there have this sort of traditions, but it's a neat way to say goodbye to your childhood friends.



So anyway.
Being on vacations really gives me a lot more free time.
And my usual computer's not currently functioning.
This is usually bad news. And it kinda is, because most of my processed pictures, ready to upload, where over there.
But I'm used to having my stuff fuck up, so I was sure to make... various backups.
I just need to reprocess now, which is not that big of a deal.



I'm actually happy with this, because my computer is in a really tight room, along with my brother's and another one. People are always going in and out of that room, and, well...
It really feels like an office job, at my own house.
Just more uncomfortable, because i don't even have enough desk room to draw anything.
Now I have confiscated my dad's laptop (he never uses it. Ever. we have to check his email for him. He just wants to call it his), and have it in my room, till they fix mine.
Now I'm more comfortable, and have enough room for the drawing.


And now, for the bigger, more important news:

My mom bought me a new camera as graduation/birthday present!!!111oneoneoneeleven
*fwoosh*


She got me a Canon Rebel XTi, with a 18-55mm lens.
She also gave me a wide angular lens she had gotten for herself, because the pricks at the store had told her it was universal for the Canon cameras.
It doesn't fit her EOS D5, but it fits mine. So Yippie!
Now I just have to get a ring thing to invert it and be able to use it as a Macro lens as well.
My godmother's also getting my a lens for my camera. I'm hoping it has a lot more reach than my current one.

So anyway. I've got my first shoot planned with ~Stevieberg this Sunday. I've been cooking up a lot of ideas these past months, and now I've got the medium to use them, so, with all the free time, you might be seeing a lot of me from now on.

I'll try to upload some of the new pictures on Monday or Tuesday, but on Wednesday's my graduation, and I'll be gone until next week, so see you around then.

I know I've been lurking for the past months.
I know I haven't updated my journal since like February.
I'm guilty.

I haven't had a camera for a while. And i've been effing busy with school. But this is my last week of school exams.. ever, and that's got me really exited.

So anyway.
I realized I should've updated -something-, and then I figured i have a lot of pictures lying on my computer I never uploaded, which I might be doing on the next couple of days.

On happier news.
Both my mother and I are getting new cameras.
We ordered hers for mother's day, and it should be arriving around these week.
She wanted a Canon, and a good one at that.
I won't get mine till a little before graduation, maybe, in like a month. But at least I'm getting it.

Though, there's NO WAY I'll sit around and not use hers to upload something in the meantime

Well, this all means you'll start seeing more of me from now on, instead of just lurking, and the occassional comments on your deviations.

Well, first things first.
I'm not so busy anymore, now that exams are over, I've just been waaay lazy. Now that I'm on regular schedule again, I've been going out, and hanging out with friends like five times a week, and I always come home tired, which in turn makes me sleepy during class.

My dad's much better, for all of you who asked. He spent a couple of days under observation at the hospital. Now he's following a really creepy diet (we though it wouldn't last two weeks, but it seems he's actually following this one), and he's been getting more rest.
He still won't admit he's getting old (72 now), so he wont stop working. I think as long as he's not under too much stress, staying active's the way to go.

In other, sadder news, my camera's currently not working.
I got pushed in a pool a week ago, and it was in my pocket.
I let it dry, and didn't turn it on, but I've tried it a couple of times, and it just won't work.
Not many people work with digital cameras around here, and they usually send it offshores to fix it, which is really expensive.
Luckily though, a couple of people have directed me to places where it can get fixed. I have no idea of the price, but I think money on photography is money well spent, so I'm fixing it nonetheless.

In the meantime, I've been drawing almost every day at school. I need to get my portfolio ready, because admission period is two months away, and I still don't have much ready.
Since I don't have a camera right now, I might start uploading sketches and such stuff... maybe.

SO! How was everyone's single-awereness day, otherwise known as Valentine's

I was actually a bit stresssed a couple of weeks back, with all the presents I had to get, and the hunt for a valentine and whatnot.
But last weekend, I realized, this year, I've got enough friendship to go around this year, and cover the lack of love.
I got all the junk off my mind, and just chilled.

Valentine's never EVER turns out how we expect it anyway. In the end, I end up meeting up with almost ALL my friends throughout the day and night, and I even end up having a double valentine's. It was all pretty fun.

And when I have, I don't have a computer available. Plus, I had to go through a LOT of deviations from my watchlist I had to catch up on from the 2 weeks I didn't have any internetz after i got back from New Year's at the beach.

On top of everything, my dad's at the hospital.
It's nothing too serious, but if he didn't get treated quickly it could turn into something very serious. He's been sleeping there for two days, under observation, while they make some tests. I've had to wake up at 9 the past two days, after going to sleep crazy late, and spending the whole day at the hospital.
I'm tired of pork sandwiches... That's the only thing they serve at the cafeteria that has no cheese (I'm currently lactose intolerant) or chicken (there's this weird disease affecting all the chickens around, so I'd rather not).

My mom's birthday was today, but since she slept at the hospital with my dad, we decided to throw a party at the hospital, instead. There were guests coming over all day. So many people in the room some of us had to sit outside because it was so full. Many people visited, so both my mom and dad were very happy. We even had a giant cake for the guests there. The cake had milk in it, but hey, it was chocolate cake, so hey.

Anyway, those are my excuses for not updating anything.
I have a bunch of work piling up, so maybe I'll upload a load of stuff soon.

It went progresively better as the year went on. it went kinda crappy for a bit in August, then better for a while, and then downhill beginning October.

2. What was your favorite moment of the year?
Many, many memories. From Fungus Day to Europe to Absinthe week.

When my folks found out stuffs.... both times.

4. What are your plans for 2008?
Stay healthy, get richer, find someone, do well in school, and actually keeping my plans for this year.

Got various colds through the year, and then a big flu during my trip to Europe. I could hardly breathe through that night. Then I got cursed. And in December I found out I've got a.. bacterpillar running through my stomach. It's been very annoying, and it's made me lactose intolerant. I've had to stop eating most of the great holiday food because of it.

10. What was the best thing you bought?
My dad got my mom a brand new camera. Panasonic DMC-FX100. Which fits in a pocket, and I can carry everywhere, and still gives me awesome 12MP resolutions, and a bunch of features.

11. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
Some people...

12. Where did most of your money go?
Buying myself food when I go out. And playing videogames when I had a little extra.

13. What did you get really really really excited about?
Senior year. Only 5 months left of school. WOOOH!

We spent Christmas Eve at my house. Seeing as we got the biggest living room in the family, every year my father invites all the relatives over, and that ensures a crazy night.
This year, however, some of my brothers were offshores, either on vacation or have moved, so our numbers were significantly less. We were eating turkey for the next three days, and I'm exhausted!

I wanted to spend New year's with all of my friends back home, seeing as most of them are leaving to study outside of the country after we finish high school. It was our last new year together, but my parents dragged me here... Aww well, let's make the best of it. After 12 on the 31st i'll be partying with all the tourists over here.
Back in my trip to Europe last summer I became quite good at hanging out with tourists, so we;ll see how everything turns out

I brought all my art junk, and my camera over, so I might get some stuff done for the portfolio, and i should be uploading it when I get back. I forgot the cable to connect my camera to the computer, but I've got 8gb memory, so i should be okay till I get back the second. There won't be any new deviations till then though.

I'll be posting another journal soon, seeing as the computer is a great way of procrastinating, and getting me away from stuffs.

Holidays means three weeks of unstoppable frenzies of booze, hanging out, having fun, doing stuff you never have the time to do, whacky christmas shopping, presents.. and yeah, family and all that.

I'm gonna use these vacations to keep preparing my college portfolio, since I haven't really gotten into it yet. That means that I MIGHT post some paintings and drawings, instead of just photos.
I also think I'm getting together with this weekend for some photoshoots, so we'll see how that turns out.

So, I was in the hospital yesterday for some analysis. They filled me up with morphine and shove a cam down my throat. I was only there for 15 minutes and it felt like a 10 hour sleep. Afterwards they gave me something else to wake me up, and BOY did I wake up... My sister tells me I instantly tried to get on my feet and jump out of bed.
...I need to find out WHAT they gave me...

So, the last couple of days I've been busy playing Call of Duty (2 at home, and 4 at the videogame room). It's got me pretty obsessed already, what with seeing things as if it were the game, when I'm in the real world. Good news is, I finally finished CoD2, which is the one I have at home, so I can get things done now.

Seniors from my school host a field day every year, and it was my job to take care of one of our activities, the videogame room. It was really fun mainly because i didn't have to work. It was sooo much fun I missed the rest of the field day because I couldn't get off Call of Duty 4, and Halo 3. We hosted a Smash Bros. tournament, where my friend ~xxxfashonxxx kicked the crap out of like 25 different people. it was pretty huge. Well, what can I say? Work isn't work so much when you're having that much fun.

So, after that, I've spent like three weeks rehersing for that big play. They've made me skip class, which really pisses me off, because they only kidnap us when I'm actually working. I've had to stay in school till like 5 PM in some occassions, and I didn't have time for anything else. Some of the evil teachers insist I should have all the classes I've missed, and I should get the out of thin air, which really bugs me because I NEED to get good grades.

So we finally got to the day of the play, earlier today. Turns out many people didn't show up, because there's this crazy big storm coming for us (should be here in minutes, acoording to the forecasts), and it was raining like hell. In the end, the auditorium was still pretty full. Acting in a play was so much more fun than I expected. Our former art teacher, who came back to write the script and direct the play for us, surprised us when she came on stage, totally improvising a character, and adding scenes we never rehersed. This was a good thing because we had some technical difficulties, and she saved our butts on more than one ocassion.



Later on, one of our mom's friend took us to try out a new place that just opened, Cinnabon.

EVER!!!

I ate them slowly, with my bare hands, getting all dirty, and BOY had I ever tasted something so good. I mean, I had to eat it slowly, and talk to it, and seduce it.

And the closer I got to the end, the better it tasted. It was like making sweet sweet love to a juicy belly dancer and yoga instructor, in a hot tub... full of cinnamon goodness.

...

And I did it.

... Twice.

It was so dirty I needed not one, but TWO towels... and a handful of napkins.
It was all dirty...

And then I looked around, and saw everyone's weird expressions, just before I realized I had been MOANING in the middle of the mall.

... but it was totally worth it.




And now some sad news.
Turns out that the guy that takes care of our garden might've killed Lucrezia. One night, at like 12, he knocked my sister's room and woke her up. He was complaining that her cat had scratched him like three times, that he was tired of her, and that either she left, or he left. She told her to talk to my dad about it.
Next morning, my cat lies cold on the backyard, supposedly due to rat poison.

... Well, I've bored you enough already.

Today when I was rehersing for a play after school, my brother called me and told me my Lucrezia, my cat, passed out. They found her lying out cold on the backyard. They say she might've swallowed rat poison, but I think she was better than that.
My sister's cat was always bullying her around, and assaulting her every time she got the chance. I think she kind of finally made it and catched her off guard...
Haven't seen Lucy's body, because the asshole who found her disposed her body, and haven't seen the other cat either... not sure what's gonna happen when I see her.

Meh.. all for now, I guess.
