I went in for a job interview today for a receptionist position with a notary public. I don't know yet if I really want the job as they encourage their staff to take legal courses... they pay for them, but still. Oh well, we'll see.
I also made an appointment to see my hair stylist for next friday - and I'm going to get my nails done, too! Wow... I feel old lmao.

I'm keeping busy, though! Tonight I'm going out shopping, and doing dinner and seeing a movie with a couple of friends of mine. That'll be nice, I'm sure.

I should really be cleaning my room right now, but after the interview and after my long work week, I really just want to relax before heading into the city tonight. :/ Oh well.

I'm doing lots of doodles for a certain contest that a certain someone is holding for her adorable characters I'm having a great time with it so far, but I'm not sure how I want it to look in the end - plus, I misplaced my storyboard for it!!! gah, that's annoying. Oh well.
go and check it out! It's going to be a lot of fun!

Anymoo! Work is cool, though I have to drive for a while to get there (about 30 minutes), which isn't too bad, really - except that I have to borrow my mom's car (as I can't afford to buy one). Oh well O_o

Going to see Harry Potter again today with as it is her Birthday! Happy Birthday!!! She's joined the 23 club, lololol.

Nothing much going on today except that, after the movie, I'm to mow the lawn again (not cool), and pick up new fawcett handles for the shower seeing as how the hot water tap broke off the other night... I have to use a wrench to turn on and off the hot water sigh.

That and I have to fix my bike. I'm going nuts not being able to ride it to work. I feel so chubby lol.

I'm baking cakes and treats with my friend Ali tomorrow night Super excited for that - we have challenged ourselves to a photo op! We're to take silly photos of us baking and having a blast - and we're not allowed to look at (ie: delete!!!!) these pics until the next week! heheheh, it'll be fun, I'm sure. We'll have a laugh.

Anyhoo, I had to wait in line for about three and a half hours before one of my friends got there (one of my besties, Ali!) - at which point I ran into the theatre to go to the bathroom - and we were able to chat it up and have a great time. We made some new friends, too Well, not the kind of people that you'd hang out with again, really - but were chummy in line with haha... uhm. Yeah.

After another two hours, my other friend showed up (one of Ryan's besties, Kevin!), and Kev and I went into the arcade to play Guitar Hero (Kev) and DDR (me), while Ali held our place in line.

AFTER HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS OF WAITING....

They FINALLY let us into the theatre and the movie started at 12:10.
It was good but... well... I wont tell :3 teehee...

FUNNY AS HELL, though... despite the fact that a certain wizard got shot out a window >v>;;;; NOT A SPOILER! Really... I mean, c'mon... you've read the books, right?

Needless to say, I'M TIRED. SO SO SO TIRED... I got to bed at 3:30 in the morning, haha... twelve hours after I got in line... and slept in until 9am... and I have to go to work for 9 hours......

My day started with me waking up at 11:30. This perterbed me a little seeing as how I hardly sleep in at all lately. Well, I thought, there goes my morning! I got up, and looked out over the back lawn with a frown on my face... and told myself that I'd do it later, after I cleaned the kitchen and had breakfast.

With breakfast out of the way and the kitchen mostly cleaned up, I trudged downstairs into the laundry room (dodging piles of dirty laundry on the floor - I'm terrible at getting my laundry done in one go - I started it yesterday and it's only half done) to get into Ryan's old jeans and a Tshirt... and to find ratty old runners.

I next found myself wandering around the house, trying to find excuses to stay inside - 'Where is my iPod? If I can't find it I can't very well mow the - oh, there it is...', 'Well, where are my headphones? Not those ones, my good ones - I can't go out there without music - oh, okay, there they are.'... - that sort of thing. With music and headphones in hand, pocket, on my ears, etc, I picked up the keys to the shed and walked outside - into the bright sunshine. 'I need sunglasses!' I thought, and ran back inside.

Needless to say, I found a pair - I have dozens of pairs, thanks to work *grumble*.

I trudged down the back steps towards the shed, with Barq and Theo close on my heels. I put the key into the lock and popped open the door, to see the dreaded lawn mower sitting in the semi-darkness, waiting for my touch to bring it to life.

At this point, I was still optimistic. 'This could be a good thing,' I thought, 'I'll be getting some sun, a good work out...'

I dragged the behemoth out of the shed with little trouble, dropping it down the two steps onto the lawn with a clatter and a thump.
I looked it over, trying to remember what it was my father told me to do first. 'The choke!' I thought, and pulled the little lever on the engine back, 'Then I gotta pull this thing back...' I grabbed onto the switch attached to the handle, grabbed the little plastic T-shapped bit and yanked the cord, hard. Nothing happend. I tried again and the mower roared to life.

'This ain't so tough.' I grinned, and muscled it into position. 'Time to get this party started!' I cranked my iPod, and began to push. Seeing as how I left it a little too late, I had to keep the grass bag on the mower, instead of letting the mower mulch and displacing on the grass (way easier, by the way). So by the time I got to the other end of the lawn, I had to empty the damned bag.

Ahem, I wont bore you with the rest of mowing - row upon row and bag empty after bag empty; but I will tell you that I had to run from wasps, dance away from spiders and pick up multiple doggy poos along the way. Not to mention throw the ball for Barq as many times as humanely possible.

After I finished, all sweaty, grumpy, and covered with grit and grass, and shoved the mower back into the shed and proceeded to close the door... until I realized something. Theo was out in the yard with me when I started. I frowned and opened the door to the shed, calling his name, no answer. I went inside and called again, no answer, again. Aftger about five minutes of me standing there calling and making noises, and thinking that I'm just the silliest person to be doing this, and he couldn't possibly be in here - I hear a little mew coming from the back of the shed. Then I hear his bell. I see two little green eyes looking out at me from the shelving and I smile. 'Stupid cat. What would you have done had I left you locked it here, hm?' I reach out to him in what I thought was a loving and kind gesture, but what apparently wasn't - as he poked his head back into the mess of stuff and shuffled around.
'Great.' I thought, moving deeper into the dark shed.
Little did I know that he was moving around to the door - I just couldn't see him because, well, he's a black cat in a dark shed.

More spider dancing followed as I tried to escape in true Indie style.

Needless to say, the shed is now locked, the cat is now in the house - and I'm looking forward to my week without mowing!!

So, 23. Not much different from 22 actually - though I feel the need to get things done more so now than before. I've been making some calls and I've come to this conclusion:

It's damn hard to find scholarships for adults who want to go into post-secondary education. On top of that, there are hardly any scholarships out there awarded to students wishing to study massage! D:

I've also learned that since I live at home, I wont be able to get as much help from the government re: student loans as I thought I would, though the fact that I pay rent helps with that a little. Apparently, when I put all the numbers into a little loan calculator, the most I could get is around 12,000 dollars... Which is nothing to sneeze at! I mean, that's great! However, my schooling over 20 months will cost me just over 30,000 dollars. Which means that I'm going to have to ask my bank for help - and there are issues with this as well - because I'll need my parents to cosign for that line of credit - which I'm sure they wont do. Sigh.

Hopefully, I'll get some concrete full time work for the summer so that I can at least buy my books and my supplies with no financial aid. If I happen to get in for Sept that is. If I'm in for January instead - that's fine too - it'll give me time to save even more, and perhaps move out of my parents house and into my own place (which will help with the government loan thing...)

I'm so confused!!! Anyone out there who can help me out with all this? I really don't understand...

I have to get my driver's license renewed on monday. Sucks to have to spend 75 dollars to get that done when I had just given ICBC 200 bucks to get my N about 8 months ago. Silly people didn't renew my license then. Oh well, I guess that doesn't really matter because...

It's my birthday in three days!

Yup yup, I'll be 23 on the 8th. Holycrap. 23. That's waaay too old.

If I started NOW, I'd get out in time to have my first baby however, I would have TONS of debt to pay off and it wouldn't be a good time to throw a child into the mix. *huff puff* Lots to think about.

Everyone seems to be talking about birthdays lately. Mine is in a month from friday. 23 years old... s'not cool!
Oh well.

Went to see X-men Origins: Wolverine a couple of nights ago - and it was awesome! After the credits there was a bit about him being in Japan - and I really hope they make a movie of his time there!
Ryan and I went with his friends - and one of them was a guy I graduated with, and it was HIS birthday that night, haha. We had a blast. They even invited me along on their next outing, which I really appreciate because Ryan himself has never invited me along to hang out with him and his friends. For some reason that kinda bothers me oh well.

Ryan and I had a bit of a tiff this afternoon - ended up okay, I guess. He came over to give me a hug and to say sorry, but not actually saying sorry - guys are weird. It just seems that he's not all that interested anymore. Might just be me. I don't know. He's hanging out with his friends more and more, and it seems to be that we're spending less and less quality time together. I don't count watching a movie with his dad as quality time, mind you.

*sigh*

Today just seems like a bad, bad day.



I'm going off to drink more tea and possibly doodle... maybe play fire emblem... maybe read. Apparently Ryan and I aren't doing anything tonight because he wants to hang out with Fabian... even though 'guy night' is supposed to be tomorrow night... It's a good thing that Mom and Dad have a Cinco de Mayo thing happening tonight.
I can actually tell him that I have plans and mean it - instead of sitting here doing nothing all night and feeling sorry for myself.

Feels so good.

Now to get back to real life!
I bought myself a new sketchbook (mainly because I can't find my other ones in all my boxes), and I've started sketching again!
I have tons of ideas to get out there, but mostly I'd like to do a self-portrait... for some odd reason that's really getting to me. Oh well.

So, my little sister and my mom left a couple of days ago to go to Cabo, Mexico. That leaves me here with papa and the animals, which wouldn't be so bad - but dad has a night shift tonight. That means I'm left all aloney on my owney... in this big scary house >_<;; I'm such a baby.

I tried to invite Ryan over to keep me company for a while, but he has homework and wont come over. Stupid political sciences essay due next week.

Oh yeah. I lost one of my jobs... I only have one now, though it's temporary. I'm going out job hunting on Monday with a friend of mine. Gonna dress up and take the bus! whoo!

I may have to reopen commissions again... not that that really helped last time, lol! Oh well. Must get drawing again before I can do that, anyways.

So I guess I can get the kiriban up and running again!

I really want to get back into drawing, too - not only for me and for my watchers - but for my friend, Ali. Her cat, Demetrius, passed away on the evening of Feb 4th. He wasn't even 4 years old. I have Demetrius' brother and sister, so his death hit me pretty hard - I'm now worrying constantly if my Omi and Aya are going to get sick, too.
I'm going to be drawing her a tribute to Demetrius, and I hope to have it done in the next month or so - it'll be like the drawing I did her dog, Cyrus.

Anyhow, I'm back Hopefully for good!

Oh, more Ryan updates! He broke his right front tooth a few days ago poor guy! Don't worry, both of his front teeth are fake (due to an accident about 10 years ago) and one of them decided to snap in half right before his thanksgiving dinner.
He got it fixed yesterday for FREE because apparently, the tooth that broke had a tiny hole running through it and the dentists were surprised it hadn't broken off sooner!

I know I'm not the best artist out there, that's why I'm offering these commissions so cheap. Perhaps, when I gain more confidence and experience, I can raise the prices, but not for a while.

Now then... on to another minor annoyance:

We were thinking of renting a basement suite for the two and a half months prior to leaving for Japan together... I'll lay out the pros and cons on this matter, and again, I'd love your opinion:

PROS:

1) Less stress when we arrive in Japan as we would have a clear idea of what living together would be like.
2) Rent is fair (600 bucks/month, that includes utilities and laundry)
3) It isn't a big move (Heck, it's in the same house for me, and two blocks away from his parents house)
4) We always have a place to hang out - no worrying about asking the 'rents about using the living room etc...
5) We don't have to worry about outside bills, such as phone - as we'd be using my cellphone for calls, and all we need is my parents' internet password to access the wireless.
6) There's a killer Thrift Shop nearby to get cheap furniture if we need it - like chairs, etc...
Good thing is, they can go right back there when we're done - and seriously, what's a few bucks?
7) We have most of the furniture we need already! Like a matress, desk, dresser, bookshelves, TV, Computers, Xbox360, Playstation2, Super Nintendo () etc...
8) Privacy!
9) We don't have to worry about re-routing our mail as we can still grab it from home, etc.
10) Learn how to live well and budget our money!


CONS:

1) Rent would increase 100 bucks each from what we're currently paying at our respective homes (We each pay 200 bucks/month)
2) We have to pay for our own food - I mean, we do this anyway... like ordering in for ourselves or buying groceries, but this means that there's absolutely NO more scavenging from mom and dad's fridge...
3) We wouldn't be able to save up as much money to go to Japan (I have the ammount needed to go right now... he doesn't, then again, he makes more than me...)
4) We both need to ask/beg for a raise to make life comfortable.
5) We wont be able to buy ourselves nifty things anymore... which could technically be under PROS, too... I mean, we would have less stuff to pack and then sell, right?
6) Apparently, Ryan would have to start paying the insurance on both of his cars if he moves out... This was agreed upon a few years ago - I'm not sure if they'll (his parents) change their minds or not - but this is the biggest problem so far for Ryan. He's only paying a portion on the insurance right now, so it isn't a big hit on his wallet.
7) Only one parking spot - which is fine, because I don't have a car - and Ryan's main car is his little red truck - which he doesn't mind parking in the designated spot... his problem is the Stealth. Now, this could also be talked over with his folks, as his dad loves this car and loves to drive it on occasion. He probably wouldn't complain if Ryan chose to keep it at the house (as that's where it's staying while we're in Japan).

I think that's all - I add more as I think on it.

The night comes along and you can't help but worry a little bit, not about your S/O, but about the 'friend'... you hope that your BF/GF calls like you asked them to when they got home...

No call...

He/She calls you the next morning to see what's up - you tell them about the not calling thing and they say sorry - all fine and good...
Then "The movie ended late, and we didn't get to go to dinner, so..."

You:

a) flip out - you said that you didn't feel comfortable with them going to the movie - after all, how the hell can you 'catch up on old times in a movie theatre!?"

b) take it in stride, he/she obviously wasn't thinking - you're angry, and you let them know that, but after all - they didn't get to go to dinner, right?

c) whatever! You trust your BF/GF completely, if anything was going on, they'd let you know!

This is an opinion thing... I, obviously, chose and followed through with option A, then promptly hung up on him because he was being a stupid boy and didn't understand what the hell he did...
The thing is, if I see him tonight, he's going to be pissed that I'm pissed - and we need to figure out yesterday about whether or not we're moving in together. D: Why did this have to happen now!?

PS: my boyfriend drives a really hot car - and he had the choice to either pick this girl up in said hot car - or use his beater truck... guess which one he picked? Yup, the hot car...
Also - I asked if this girl was pretty - apparently she's a knock-out...
I'm so tempted to swear right now... and I hardly ever swear.

FEATURE!

is a great irl friend (since grade 9! Whoo!) of mine who now lives in Europe. Her art is AMAZING! And she has a great webcomic that she's been working on since highschool. It has recently undergone a HUGE change - she changed her art style completely and overhauled the webcomic. It's again only just starting up - but the art is second to none. Most of my spider stories happened while I was Willow Beach in Osoyoos *shudder*... when I was a little girl *fades off into flashback*

1) I was putting on my lifejacket and clipping the clips when I realized that there was this HUGE spider hanging from a web from it - I realized this when the thing bumped into my leg (it was a significant bump - this thing was the size of a quarter! Or, at least its ass was...).
I freaked out (didn't scream, though >_> dunno why) and ran onto the sand. The spider played out its web and landed. I covered it with sand and stepped on it.
All calmed down and more than a little proud of myself, I turned around and walked forward a few steps - then turned my head just in time to see the spider pop back out of the sand! AND IT WAS STILL ATTACHED! I ran again, buried it again, and stomped to my hearts content. This happened a few times - spider pops out, Jenna runs, Jenna buries it, stomps on it, walks... spider pops out... etc. Until the darned thing finally stayed down! By then I was at the water and using wet sand to bury the thing, so yeah success!

2) I was in a little tin motor boat, exploring the canal (looking for turtles, or whatever) with my dad and a few other kids. I don't know when it started but I absentmindedly starting rolling something goey along the side of the boat. I could tell it was a ball shape - it was rolling easily, afterall - and I could tell that it was delicate and filled with liquid. For some odd reason this didn't really enter my mind at the time. I just kept rolling it with one finger (the pointer finger on my left hand, rolling the thing from tip to where it attaches to my hand and back again) with just enough pressure to as not to pop the thing.
After doing this for a few minutes I wondered what the thing was and turned to look.
At first I hadn't a clue - then, after a few moments... the legs unfurled. The poor thing was so disoriented, by the time it finally figured out where its legs were it couldn't walk - but I'd already shrieked by that time, and dad flicked it over the edge and into the water. O_O; Ick... I still can't believe I did that.

3) (this one at home this time!) I had just come home from either karate or air cadets (I wasn't a cadet for long... stop hazing ) and had a towel on my head (I had just gotten out of the shower) whilst leaning over my salad that mom had made me for dinner before bed.
A spider then decided it would be an awesome idea to drop from the ceiling onto my towel, and then drop into my salad. O_O;
I killed the spider, then ate my salad

4) back to willow beach! I was on a boat speeding across the lake when all of a sudden, I couldn't see out of my right eye. I thought 'this is weird' and flicked the thing away. It landed on the back of the boat, a spider (jee, who figured?) and I stepped on it

It started like a movie preview - a young man and his horse galloping through what appeared to be a canyon towards their village. The horse was entirely black and was shaped like an Arabian - though larger in size and girth.

The 'scene' changed to them galloping through the village, they were being greeted by friends and family, and there were horses everywhere! Every person had a horse - well, every adult. The people wore strange clothes in the village, heavy cloaks (parkas?) that fell halfway to your waist, with large symetrical patterns in browns, oranges and yellows. Their eyes were all in blue and green.

'Scene' changes again to show the young man and his horse standing at the other side of the village (you could hear all the village happenings going on behind them) facing a HUGE body of water with the canyon walls rising to startling heights above them on either side.
The water was black - and over the surface were reeds - over the years, the people have gathered the reeds together and made a serpentine pathway over the water - a safety zone.
The reeds were often deceiving - some gathering naturally in pathways or patches that seemed like they would hold weight, but would really only grab, tangle, and drag you under the water to you and your horses death.
The reason for these pathways was for the gathering of food, and other resources from across the water (there were several of these large 'lakes' in a row, with small patches of land in between). The reason that horses were needed was because of the creatures that lived in the lakes - speed was essential.

When out hunting, a young man or woman would wear clothing that was light, and didn't catch much wind - so the clothing was bound tightly to their body with wrappings about the waist, arms and legs.

'Scene' changed to the young man and his horse racing along a pathway over the water (I had a birds eye view), the sun glinting off the surface - and something rose from the deep - a shark, torpedo-shaped and deadly, and at least 50 feet long (megolodon anyone?). It had heard the horse moving above and felt the disturbance on the water and had come to investigate - the pathway was good for predators aswell.

The young man hadn't seen anything, but the horse sensed the shark and, sides dripping sweat, he ran faster.
Another large creature leaped from the water and over the path, knocking horse and rider into the water (this beast, if you're interested in knowing, had a head much like a Uintatherium, but elongated, and had a body shaped like an orca, about the same size, too, but with clawed front flippers).

The shark didn't waste a moment, sensing the splash, it whipped around and came from below, its gaping maw taking in the horse and dragging them both down.

The young man surfaced first, in a panic, and discovered, to his horror, that he was far from the path. He began to swim through the water and reeds, lifting his arms and legs high of the water in order not to get tangled. He was crying and I felt his sorrow and his fatigue as he tried to get to safety.
The shark passed below him, the dorsal fin hitting him and sending his spinning in the water. The young man cried out and splashed loudly through the water with renewed vigor.
The village was too far away to hear and send help, and the young man new that he was alone and that he was going to die.

He felt a great loss at the death of his horse, for a boy (or girl) upon reaching adulthood, recieved a foal to raise to his or her liking. He had been with his horse for years now (I'm thinking four? The boy can't have been older than 19...) and had developed a deep bond.
The shark attacked, missed, and instead struck the young man with its snout, knocking the wind from him. The young man wrapped his arms around the nose and held his legs out and straight so as not to fall into the jaws.

The shark went under - the young man let go, and in finding that the shark had only pushed him nearer to the pathway, climbed up and ran towards the shore at a very slow pace compared to the speed of his horse. His legs were exhausted, heavy and sluggish. The shark weaved below the path, following closely.
The shark veered away as the young man neared the shore and canyon walls, and he was safe.

The young man fell to shore and sat facing the water. He began to yell for his horse, screaming his name (which I couldn't hear, really).
Suddenly, something black surged from the depths at the shore and scrabbled madly at the rock.
The young man didn't recognize his horse at first, and he fell backwards to get away.

I was born in Richmond hospital in Richmond, British Columbia, and lived in that poor excuse for a city for two years before moving to lovely Ladner. You probably don't know of this backwater little town/village - but you've seen it in movies like Air Bud (and all the other Air Bud films), Final Destination (where the girl got pwned by the bus), and popular TV shows like Supernatural (Dean is the hottest guy on television, btw, check it out *drool*). We've had tons of big-name actors drop by while filming, including Antonio Banderas and Ah-nold himself (cause I can't spell his last name, ferchrissakes).

Still don't know about Ladner? That's okay - we really don't mind.
Nothing interesting has happened in this town since the fires ripped through our little china-town in the late 1800's... and seeing as how we don't have a china-town anymore, you can only guess how THAT turned out.

I've lived here from age 2 to present (glorious age 21) and I hope to be getting out of here soon!
The only escape I've had was a 43-day trip to Europe that I took a couple of years ago. I stayed in a small town in Germany called Oldersum and traveled from there to Bremen, Leer, and Neermore. I also traveled across the border into the Netherlands, seeing the student city of Groningen, and well as the small residential town of Tenboer (sp?), where they were having a festival - it was canceled though, because something blew up... causing a huge fire and power-outages... It was fun to see the charred wreckage, though!
From there I went to Paris for 5 awesome days. Let me tell you something though, 5 days is NOT enough time to see all the wonders of Paris! I went up the eifle tower, saw the Notre Dam, saw the outside of the Louvre (hahaaa....) and generally got hit on by loads of creepy french men.
I did many fun things while in Germany, though - I stayed with a good friend of mine who had moved there shortly after graduation and worked in their tea shop. I didn't understand much german (having only taken a couse in grade 12), and so you can all imagine how difficult taking orders must have been.
Oi.
I even went out on my own rollerblading (seriously, you'd think that the Germans haven't seen rollerblades before, the way they were looking at me!) over 10 miles to the next little town (Neermore), and ordering myself an icecream and talking to a lady in my halting german about where I was from and with whom I was staying. It was fun!

Anyhow, that's pretty much all...

I recently went to an 'art workshop' at the local library that was hosted by Mei Yu, a local artist... I was surrounded by 12 and 13 year olds and I felt VERY out of place XD but it was interesting. At least I got to talk to her afterwards about school and jobs and the like...

She also said that my stuff is really good ^_^ doesn't hurt my ego to hear that!
Then again, just browsing through DA again today humbles me and puts my work in perspective - I have a long way to go!
It bothers me still that I can't have photoshop, and that I don't know how to use it - but that'll change, I hope, soon.
Up until then, my work will be colourless, because I'm still iffy on using pencil crayons on my work... or any other colour medium that doesn't involve computers. *shudder*
