the girl that was my girlfriend decided to become christian, and also decided to change her personality into something I dislike

I had to work late several days to finish a parts of a project that had to be done before/for saturday morning

its a re-doing of the electronics display area

I got all that crap done on time (I was done 9pm friday) -it was the hard part of the project
I got finished the rest that I have paperwork/instructions for today

alot of it looks kinda shitty, but thats how the morons in the california HQ want the electronics displayed

oh well, it's set up how they want it, except where they didn't pay attention to what they were doing and I had to make things fit properly (lazy bastards)


other morons in the california HQ have decided that instead of providing good, quality, honest customer service, all the salespeople should now act like snake-oil salesmen, or used car salesmen by being friendly/interested in the customer in an extreemly fake manner, and pushing unwanted products and services on the customers

last time I checked, trying to force or pressure a person to buy more of something than they need, or trying to force or pressure a person to buy something they don't want is BAD customer service

if someone says they are 'just looking' or 'only browsing' it is BAD customer service to continue to pester and bother them

GOOD customer service is to let them look and browse-left alone by employees, then ask later if they are 'finding anything interesting' or asking if they need help at all

BAD customer service makes peope shop in other store locations, or shop in another company's stores

I have heard many complaints about another store in the company I work for, and I have been there and recieved NO service in that store-people shop in the store where I work because we let them shop *unmolested* and we are friendly *WITHOUT* being pushy

how about good, quality customer service without the employees degrading themselves or making themselves look like jackasses

....it's just a thought....

oh, and another thought....how about having a district manager that isn't a condesending, incompetent, sexist, prick? you don't need to be a rude jackass to EVERYONE....I think it is possible do have a decent human being in a district manager position....since I think we used to have one....

It would be nice if the higher ups in the ompany and the idiots in HQ would come back to the real world of retail and stop screwing around and wasting money on useless programs-and yes, it is a huge waste of money to pay for a program that tries to teach you to treat customers in an extremely poor manner


example of "good" customer service (according to HQ):

employee spends many minutes not talking about what the customer wants to buy
employee finally can ask how he/she can help the customer

employee-we have that right over here
*leads customer towards sandpaper*

employee-do you need and soaps or cleaners?
customer-i just came in for sandpaper
*shows location of sandpaper*
*customer gets the sandpaper he/she needs/wants*
employee-did you see the boats on display in the store?
customer-i already have a boat, i just came in for sandpaper
*customer heads for checkout*
*employee follows*
employee-have you heard about
customer-i just came in for sandpaper
employee-we have an protection plan that extends your warranty on electronics you purchase from us
customer-i just came in for sandpaper
*at the checkout*
employee-are you a member?
customer-no
employee-would you like to be?
customer-no
employee-its free
customer-no
employee-would you like to apply for our store credit card?
customer-no
*customer buys sandpaper and leaves*
employee-thanks and come see us again

now, in the eyes of the HQ, this customer will come back because he/she recieved such "good" service and was offered many other things he/she might have been interested in,

in the real world this customer is not happy and will probably not go to that location again-or it will be his/her last choice of location to go to, and will go to another location, or go to a competitor because in reality the employee did nothing but bother a customer when he/she clearly needed one thing and came in for only that thing
