Due to the unpredictability of my schedule, I can only take on one project at a time, but I will post up here when they are available again.

The price will depend on what is requested. However, character portraits will always be cheaper than real-people portraits because it is harder to get a likeness when you're working with real folks in photos. I specialize in fantasy, sci-fi and steampunk humanoid characters. Anthro characters are more challenging for me but I will still accept those jobs.

Putting aside the adorable naivete of this comment, the underlying assumption is that artists who sell their work are selling a part of themselves, in a way devaluing the very thing they create. To some, creation is the kind of thing only the gods do, and a monetary transaction sullies that divinity.

Due to some craziness (which you probably don't know about unless you're on Thorns or one of my friends) I have been having some difficulty handling my entire life, but I am plugging away and hope to have every single one of my September+earlier commissions finished by the end of the month. I have started my October queue and finished several of the pieces owed, but I still owe many of you your character portraits. As I only took on October commissions on the condition that they have no required time constraints, this is hopefully not too big of an issue. The style in each "before" example was unmistakable; they were unique, not idealized. The face alone identified them. They actually seemed a bit like real children - unabashedly unfashionable, pudgy and short. The 'after' versions can be summed up in 5 words...pretty, skinny, fashionable, sparkly, zzzzzzzzzzzz.

1) Drowning in an ever-increasing Category 5 homework storm.

2) Panicking about commissions, desperately trying to handle the biggest projects without neglecting the small ones. I've been trying to get the work done during my off hours in the Library, but that place was Not Meant For Working apparently, as people treat it roughly like a hookah bar. They even bring their kids there. I did an entire commission the other day while a 3-year-old with a cold was staring at me, looking like he wanted to gnaw on my face.
