I am really loving this warmer weather.

Yes.... I really need to update my journal ( and art!) more often. I've been so busy at work these past few months that I barely have time for myself anymore. I really hate doing 12 hour days, but when I'm not there, my classroom goes to h*ll. Gotta love the responsibilities of being a teacher. At least with winter almost upon us, I'll be trapped inside a bit more and will be able to get some new artwork done. I hope.

Always remember to forget the things that make you sad, and never forget to remember the things that make you glad.

I am really loving this warmer weather.

Realized I haven't updated my journal in a while. EEP!

I've been quite busy so far this summer..... Mostly with work. I did get to take a nice vacation to see my family in Pennsylvania and stay at a camp in New York State. Broke my foot (please don't ask). But things have been so very busy that I haven't had time to do very much besides grab my camera.

But what happened to summer? Seriously. I haven't been able to enjoy it as much as I used to be able. Is this what happens when you grow older and have responsibilities? Sucks.

Always remember to forget the things that make you sad, and never forget to remember the things that make you glad.

It tried to turn on for about a second, then turned itself off again. I repeated this attempt for a few hours before giving up and going to bed. Tried the same thing today using both a/c power and/or the battery. Nothing. Tried the outlets in five different rooms. Nothing. So right now until I get it back from Geek Squad (Best Buy), I have to use my husband's computer. That means all of the updated artwork I was trying to post last night just won't happen for a while.

Sorry.

All of my photo editing software is on my laptop as well as my camera software, and my artwork that was done in photoshop with my new tablet.
Oh the woes of work....

I think it's time for me to look for another job. I love teaching. Honest. But I'm just so very tired of coming home each day too exhausted to do much of anything and most weeks wear me out so very much that I'm getting sick just about every weekend. I'm looking for just about anything right now that isn't a secretarial position. I like being able to move around all day and look out a window or even go outside for a while. It's definately the wrong time of the year for a greenhouse to be hiring, but maybe a florist shop? With today's job market as it is, it's going to be a long process but I't time to move on.

If I could get started and get a reputation made for myself, I would love to do art and craft shows, artist exhibits, fairs... I do everything from painting and sketching, to photography and woodworking. I make seasonal wreaths. I quilt and sew. I do landscaping and gardening. I love to go fishing and am in love with boating and sailing, swimming...anything to do with water.

So..... Any ideas?

Always remember to forget the things that make you sad, and never forget to remember the things that make you glad.

tis the season

I've had enough of Ike. Hurricane/Tropical storm. Pain in the ass is what is is. After record setting rainfall this weekend, Now i've got to clean out the basement because it's got about six inches of water and the kitties litter boxes are floating around. I've got to get an insurance agent out here, borrow my neighbor's sump pump, and get everything dried out and see what can be salvaged. I keep most of my stuff in plastic storage boxes and up off of the floor, but my husband isn't that clever. I'm afraid to even look at his things. Once the insurance person is finished, we've got to have the basement waterproofed. Whoever did it the last time did one of the crappiest jobs I've ever seen.

Anyway, Fall is just a week away. I'm honestly looking forward to the cooler temperatures. Summer's going fast and the nights are getting colder. As much as love running around in my shorts and bare feet, I love cuddling up in my sweats and curling up in a blanket. That, and everything else that comes with the fall season.

Always remember to forget the things that make you sad, and never forget to remember the things that make you glad.

seriously... It's too short.

Whatever happened to three months of summer vacation? I got out of shcool the first week in June (no later than the 4th) and went back to shcool two days before Labor Day Weekend. I had almost three solid months of doing absolutely nothing. Now? I really feel sorry for most kids these days. They go to school until mid-June and go back to school the second week in August. August is still summer! It's way to early to have to be stuck indoors all day, suffering in a classroom. Part of the problem is all of these stupid days off that most school districts are throwning into their schedules. Days off should be restricted to holidays and foul-weather days, not just random days here and there. Fewer days off means longer summer vacations. Children need their free time, just like averyone else. It's a rite of childhood and shouldn't be taken away. Three months off should be a Consitutional Right.

Always remember to forget the things that make you sad, and never forget to remember the things that make you glad.
