The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of getting free food donated every day to abused and neglected animals. It takes less than a minute (How about 20 seconds) to go to their site and click on the purple box 'fund food for animals' for free. This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising. Here's the web site!
A story Im working on
This is actually the complete version but I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions before I submitted it. Its seems kinda bland toward the end

Randy turned under his blanket. He didn't want to get up, the comfort of the bed keeping his furry body prisoner. He knew he had to get up though, or he'd feel groggy and disgusting for the rest of the day. Unfortunately he had no shower. Rarely did a squatter ever have running water.
The fox yawned and rubbed his eyes as he sat up. He looked around his room at the mint green walls, the open door to the hallway, the bathroom, the closet, and the two tenth floor windows in his bedroom. He went into the bathroom with its old-fashioned fixtures, and poured some water out of a jug onto his toothbrush as he looked at his face in the dirty mirror. He squeezed out some tooth paste onto the brush and briskly started brushing his teeth. He frowned at his reflection. "Another boring day to last through", he thought to himself. Detroit wasn't exactly a happening city.
The bathroom had a window too, though it was frosted and slightly smaller than the two in his bedroom. the vulpine opened it and looked outside at the street below, at the tiny-looking pedestrians below walking to wherever their destination was. Wolf anthros, fox anthros, dog anthros and the like. He left the window open and walked back into his bedroom to put a pair of pants on. Though randy wore pants, most other anthros chose to go nude or wear loincloths. Randy was definately a minority when it came to clothing.
The ratty frayed curtains blew in the newfound breeze. Randy rubbed his empty stomach as it growled, wishing he had gotten more food the night before. He sat down in the beat-up wooden chair by the already-opened windows in his bedroom, and stared out at the neighboring building, an insurance company, a lovely orange building. The wind ruffled his orange fur, and caused the ceiling fan to start turning despite obvious lack of electricity.
That was when it happened.
There was suddenly an ominous rumbling and the whole building shook. Randy's chair fell over, throwing him to the floor as bits of dust and plaster fell from the decaying ceiling. He instinctively put his arms expecting to be crushed by the twenty-three floors above. "This is the end"! he thought to himself.
But to his surprise the old Book-Cadillac hotel held together.
Two young german shepherd puppies ran by his door crying for their mother. Randy helped himself up, happy not be a ground-up hamburger patty. "What could that have been"? He thought about it for a second. They weren't demolishing anything. This, after all, was Detroit, and on top of that, Lunaku.
He needed to know what it was, frightened that something could make that much noise. He left his room and went into the hallway. The german Shepherd mother was comforting her puppies down the hall, keeping them in her loving embrace. She looked at him nervously. In a deep yet feminine voice, between comforting her young, she told the fox, "We're evacuating. you should too". "In a sec", Randy replied. Her look turned to become more worried. "Be careful". About ten rooms down was the stairwell. The stairs surrounded three ornate ironwork elevators, now stranded on three different levels and devoid of the well-dressed attendants that once worked them.
He held the tarnished brass railing as he hurried up the carpeted grand staircase, kicking up dust, dirt and trash as he went. A husky and a cat came running down past him in a mad dash to get out. Their pitter-patter soon faded into nothing. He heard yelling coming from the bottom of the stairwell reverberrating up to his position, as the other pannicked squatters rushed to get out. Four more floors and he'd finally have reached the roof, a great vantage point to see what was going on.
Fear coursed through him. He wondered why he was doing this. He should have left like everyone else. The building may have become unsafe. It seemed to him like it had become unstable, but that was not the case at all.
He continued up the next four flights breathing heavily, heart beating like a drum, through the multi-colored corridors with their colorful dusty runners. The 33rd floor looked the worst since the hotel had been closed slowly, floor by floor. The dark green paint was even beginning to chip off the walls. The young fox went up one more flight to the roof access door, and flung the old-fashioned metal door open, letting in a strong breeze along with leaves, dirt and more trash.
Randy ran out the door onto the roof patio, sweat soaking his fur, his tongue hanging out as he panted. "Where could that noise be coming from"? he asked himself as he scanned the horizon and listened for the noise. It had been built to basically be a garden on the top of the building. Tall grass and vines had taken over what had once been well-kept...

Many government officials had begged him, threatened him {Even offered to pay him millions} not to save Laurence city. It was considered a financial burden that many officials didn't want. 50% of the population was on unemployment. The numerous abandoned factories and warehouses were considered an eyesore and the land was at a perfect location on the peninsula for a naval base for the colonies. They couldn't do so because the locals kept rioting when the government tried to push them out. It was only because of their numbers that they kept the city. Just one rampage could end that. The death toll would be enough to reduce the population to a more feasable number. During the day the streets were packed with furs of many canid varieties. It was literally a living carpet. Kayko didn't want to see it pictured on the news, the poor anthros being crushed to death, hundreds at a time. He wouldn't even eat them. Just crush them like the insects he considered them to be, not taking the fact in that each little body held its own personality. He would eat from the pannicked survivors, desperately trying to run from the city. His name was loathed by micros all over. ROGUE

Kayko was born in pine-clif, lunaku in 1989. pine-clif specializes in the manufacturing and sale of bricks. His parents were enslaved workers. His mother was half fox and half german shepherd. His father was a jet-black pure wolf. His father was sold away when he was seven. when he was ten his older brother, arctos was sold to a cafe as prey. In the same year his mother was sold to another sweatshop. Kayko found out that his brother had escaped when he was 15. When he first turned 17 he accidentallly saved his brothers life while having no idea it was him. After his escape his brother was recaptured along with his newly formed pack and they were sold to the brick factory near kayko's house. kayko fled the town after that to search for his parents. His brother stayed in pine cliff to watch after the pack he led and to take care of lira, his younger sister. He now devotes his life to finding his parents and freeing them.

Foxby recognized the area. He brought Aerial up a dirt road. At the top stood an ageing castle. The place looked nothing like he had remembered it. The roofs on the once magnificent building were rotted and sagging. He was amazed at how much it had weathered in such a short time. One of the front doors hung crooked on its hinges. The other hung open carelessly letting the elements inside. He began to enter the derelict building when Aerial stopped him. “are you sure you wanna do this”, she said “I could do it for you. As you know I don’t really mind killing members of his group”. “I can do it”, foxby said “he killed my mother right in front of me. I want to be the one to kill him”. She looked at him, able to tell he was actually being serious. They entered the great hall. The spacious room was filled with overturned tables and chairs. The few windows in the room were shattered and their tattered curtains blowing in the soft breeze. Foxby turned around immediately after hearing a loud clank. An empty wine bottle rolled down the stairs, clanking at each individual step and rolled to foxby’s feet. The date was recent. He looked up the steps. The first step creaked and so did the rest as he tried his best to make a quiet entry. Aerial flew to the top to avoid all the noise.
The upper hallway was littered with broken furniture, artwork and other debris. It was now raining outside, shown by the water pouring through a hole caused by fire in the vaulted ceiling. A door farther down the hall blew open and closed but never closed completely since it had no knob. At the end of the hall were two double doors. One had been torn off the hinges and lay in the hall giving a clear glimpse into the large room. There was a busted bed as well as some other demolished furniture. Foxby’s mouth dropped open. Carved directly into the stone wall was a portrait of his mother and the wolf had inked it in…..with….with his own blood and with surprising accuracy too. There, however, was no sign of the wolf in his room. In a corner Aerial spotted a doorway and pointed Foxby to the stairwell inside. It only went up. It ended abruptly at a small doorway that led to a small balcony that wrapped around the top of a tall tower. The wolf he had hated so much was standing on the stone railing in a swan dive position. He stopped to take off a ring and tossed it into the mote. He finally seemed to notice that he was no longer alone and turned around. His hair had become long and unkempt. “well, are you going to kill me, or am I going to have to help myself”? He looked down and none of them spoke a single word. “This is for your mother”, he said in a regretful way and jumped but foxby screamed NO and caught the wolf by the scruff on his neck. Foxby, however, could not keep hold on such a large creature and the wolf fell but uinstead of landing on the ground and being splattered he hit a rotted roof two stories down. The wood began to groan and snap and he fell through onto a table in the great hall. The table was immediately smashed to bits and the wolf just laid there, stiff as a board. He awoke a while later with bandages on. He saw Foxby laying on a couch across from his bed asleep. Brutos started crying and Foxby woke and walked over to him. “I never meant for this to happen”, brutos said “I would happily give up my own life for hers. Your mother was a much better person than I am.
“why’d you do it then”? Foxby’s voice cracked as he said this
Brutos paused.
“The pressure”, Brutos said, “The pressure of being the leader of that many men”. He looked over at Aerial who was sitting in the only intact chair in the upper floor. “When are you both going to kill me? I deserve death for my sinful actions”. But Foxby refused. To this brutos just laid back down and stared up sadly at the ceiling. He had to do something for Foxby, but what could he do to repay Foxby for killing his mother?
Then Brutos remembered the gem. He had heard tales of it from the people of a village he had visited as a kid. He knew now what he could do for foregiveness from Foxby, but how would he get the gem?
"So remind me again of why you're helping this guy, foxby".
"I just cant do it, Aerial", Foxby replied, "I mean, you heard what he said".
"yeah, I did, but how do you know he's being honest"?
"You dont need to be in that army for long to recognize a liar. There were many many dishonest people in that army".
Aerial looked over at him and sighed. "I'm not surprised".
Aerial's attention was brought to a pitter patter of paws running up the steps. She transformed into her dragon form and faced the gang of three-dozen or so miscelanious canids. They took one look and her and bolted back downstares and out of the castle. She flew after them and caught up with the group. A german shepherd who had been lagging behind lost his balance and fell over, becoming a sitting duck. She flew at him and breathed in, pre...

Isn't it amazing how many new deviations are submitted daily on dA?\
That the amount of people who are interested in dA increases daily?\
And the fact that so many artists have found a platform to dicuss and present their work to others?
\

Without a doubt it's a big, interesting and versatile community.\
But isn't it amazing to always see the same artists on the frontpage every single day concerning the fact that so many new deviations have been submitted?\

We're all aware of that and believe that this has to change. It is already quite difficult for the "unknown" artists to promote their work and gain more attention. \

Clearly, we do not intend to deny the skills of those great artists who enrich the community by sharing their magnificent work. But we do intend to enhance the platform in such a way that "unknown" artists might get a real chance to draw the public attention to their own pieces of work by promoting it on the front page of the community.\

In our opinion we think it unjust to only have the chance to be represented on the front page if one has the luck of having many watchers.\

We would like a better system which allows a deviation to be seen on the front page if, for example, it has 'only' reached about 40 favourites and about 200 views. \

Take a look at the actual situation: You have uploaded an impressive piece or art that gets faved according to the number of your total views/watchers. Then, however, a more popular deviant uploads a more or less 'average' deviation and automatically reaches more than the double of your favourites/views in a mere moment.\

A new structure of the frontpage could enhance the actual competition on dA, i.e. popular deviants wouldn't be able to best the "unknown" artists by posting a rather average deviation.\

A reasonable alternative to present the "daily top favourites" on the front page would be a bigger amount of thumbs which would show the 40 best deviations of the day in a random order.\

We think it's in everyone's interest to change the current situation and make dA a place where creating and sharing unique art plays a far bigger role than scrambling for new watchers. \
"c'mon, you'd be much better off without him", the fox said. "He treated you like shit".
Kayko's brother screamed. "I'll do anything lance! Please let me live!"
Lance punched vince's figure. "SHUT UP ASSHOLE".
Kayko responded, "Thats only outside the house. He's afraid people will think he's a wuss. When we get home he immediately appoligises to me and explains why he does the things he does. It comes naturally to him, being the oldest and strongest of us".
"Look, I'll make you a deal", Lance said. "I'll suffocate him and then return the body for a funeral".
"Please dont Lance, He's family, and he's a really a nice guy when he's not around people he doesn't know too well. You just need to get to know his true personality. I promise I'll keep him away from you".
"FOR GOD'S SAKE, SOMEBODY HELP ME", vincent yelled from lance's stomach.
"God", Lance said. "I'll let him go. You're lucky though. Normally I eat away from everyone at lunch for just this reason".
Lance emptied his stomach of the white wolf.
vince knealed in front of lance. "Thank you Lance", he repeated frantically while bowing to the orange fox.
"DONT BOW TO ME", Lance said. "You have your own god already. Besides, if your brother hadn't begged for your life I wouldn't have let you go at all. He's the one you should be thanking". He pointed toward kayko sternly. "You should treat him better because he loves you very much"!
Vince turned toward his brother. amazed. He looked rather pitiful with his snow-white fur and long hair soaked in partially digested food and some kind of brown-red liquid, all of it sagging down making him look weak and puny. "You saved my life kayko? I thought you hated my guts". He started tearing up and ran to his brother and hugged him. "I cant believe it, Kayko, you still love me despite how badly ive treated you in public.
Kayko smiled. "I could never hate you. You're my brother. Besides, you always apoligised to me afterwards anyway".
"Vince".
Vincent looked up at lance nervously. "yes"?
"You can have your old job back if you want".
"Really? even after I treated you that badly"?
"Sure".

Michael, Kayko and darkwolf left the town the next day after they met vincent. Felos stayed behind after meeting someone he liked. As for Jake, he stayed there with his family and worked at the brick factory. Vincent turned over a new leaf and started treating everyone better.

I tried a new format and ending. I hope everyone doesn't hate it as much as I did.
"Yes and no. Im looking for my parents. Do you know any other Darkwolfs"
"I think there are a couple in linnor".
"Linnor? thats clear accross the country. are there any darkwolfs closer to here?
"Im so sorry, there aren't any that i know of".
"Oh well, I like traveling anyway."
It took almost twelve hours for them to get outside the city and its suburbs to where the city's canid population no longer resided. It was a dirt road in the direction they were traveling. Linnor was a very dangerous city on the border of the slave country. There came a sound of a gunshot from behind. The rain made whatever was behind them impossible to see. Darkwolf signalled them to the concrete ditch on the side of the road. Luckily it wasn't as full with water as it normally was. After a while they started hearing voices and singing. It was bus full of refugees. They wondered why the bus was going toward the slave country instead of fleeing it.
Darkwolf left the ditch and signalled the bus to pull over. It pulled over and the door was openned. The driver was wolven with brown fur. He had black fur on his head though. "Why are you going in that direction", darkwolf said.
"The bridge to detroit is too icy to cross and its likely this weather could continue for months so we have to go back to Anita and take a different way to detroit".
"Do you Mind if we join you"?
"We dont mind. Where are you going"?
"Pine cliff. are you going by there"?
"Yes".
They got onto the junky bus. When it started that same gunshot noise came from the bus's engine. Around the bus there were seven or eight different families of various canid varieties.
Michael looked out the window at the passing feilds of crops and their corrosponding groups of ramshackle outbuildings and houses.
The farm buildings were on raised ground like the road since the area was prone to flooding. Trees had grown on the sides of the mound that the road was on, giving it extra strengthening. He eventually fell asleep. The bus jolted to a halt and woke him back up several hours later. They were in pine cliff. It was still pouring like crazy so they were soaked when they got back to Kayko's house. He offered them dry clothes when they got up the steps to the porch on the second story of his shotgun style house. He introduced his sister and then went to get his brother. "Hey lira, where's vincent"?
"He hasn't gotten home yet", his sister said.
"He hasn't? im gonna go pick him up. I'll be right back guys". He went outside into a roofed over driveway and pulled out in the small junky car he and his siblings shared.
Felos layed on an old green wing-backed sofa. Michael sat in an old brown leather recliner. Darkwolf sat in the chair that matched the couch and jake sat in the other matching chair and picked at the duct tape covering a hole in the cushion.
Kayko walked into the brick factory where him and his brother worked. It was lunch and vincent always came home for lunch. He searched the lunch room and then the kiln where he worked until he found lance, their boss. He had eaten something big. Lance was a macro but his stomach was still bulged out. The imprint of a hand appeared briefly on the front of his stomach and Kayko's eyes widened. "Brother"?

"Its fine. Im not afraid. Im actually traveling with one. so its cool".
"Oh, thats good. So how come you seemed so nervous"?
"I felt bad about accusing you of eating that fox".
Jake interrupted. "I have a name".
"Oh, sorry jake".
"anyway," kayko said, " thats not the first time someone's accused me of eating someone and with my personality it wont be the last. So dont feel guilty michael. In fact most of the time its other wolves and some foxes who have accused me. so you're the first human who's accused me but not the first person".
"thanks",michael said. "Hey, would you guys like to meet the people im traveling with".
They were already cooking breakfast when michael got back.
Felos immediately recognized them.
They talked for a while and decided to bring kayko and jake with them as far as pine cliff.
The next city was old detroit, another one of the preexistant old american cities abandoned along with earth years earlier. They were headed there since darkwolf heard that he had some family there.
Detroit looked much the same as it had when it was still occupied by americans except for the steep multi-story roofs, added balconies and extremely low crime rate. All the newer buildings had been moved to the new detroit in the mars colonies.
They stopped at a victorian house with a two story 1920's era brick addition that took up the front yard up to the sidewalk. It was a convenience store. The famile that owned it lived in the house in back. They went inside to buy drinks and michael was surprized to find no plastic. Only natural stuff was used Lunaku and since sand was natural glass was natural. The only unnatural things in lunaku were the asbestos shingles on some of the houses and the concrete board used in its place when a shingle had to be replaced.
Michael had never seen drinks bottled in glass. Only plastic was used in the colonies.
On his way out of the convenience store he bumped into a gray-haired wolf.
"Oh, im so sorry", he said.
The male brown wolf behind the counter said", you need any help darkwolf".
Darkwolf and the wolf he bumped into both looked in the brown wolf's direction.

Kayko had the fox lay on its back and dried his front with the back of his hand then the back. Kayko shrank to a normal sized wolf and shook hands with the fox. "Im Kayko", he said as he shook hands. "Im sorry I scared you so much, I just love to do that".
The fox smiled. "Its okay, after i had the crap scared out of me i really enjoyed the massaging. It felt so good".
Kayko looked at him cock-eyed.
The fox fell to the ground and begged kayko not to eat him.
Kayko laughed. "Im just joking". You're not gonna be my dinner or my slave, just my friend.
The fox got up and hugged him. This startled kayko at first but then he got used to it and patted the fox on the back.
"I love you", the fox said.
This remark startled kayko. "You're not in love with me. right"?
The fox looked at him confused. "Of course not".
kayko felt stupid for asking the question.
"Oh, my name's jake henson". He smiled and said," i used to be a lawyer but they felt I wasn't good enough".
"I'm from Pine Cliff", Kayko said.
The fox looked at him wide-eyed. "thats where i was going. Im going to stay with my family there and look for a job".
Old Earth lacked most high-paying jobs since earth was a poorer area(with the exception of canada). Earth became a generally cold enviroment around when the humans left in fact that's most likely the reason why they left.
"I'm michael", the human said nervously.
"dont be afraid", kayko said. "Us canids are not how we're made out to be.

Kayko enjoyed this, this feeling of vast superiority over another life but yet not harming it but rather befriending the little creature. In truth he envied the little fox. Kayko loved feeling like how he figured the fox felt, helpless yet safe. Kayko couldn’t understand why rogue, without even thinking, could just eat them when they’re so much fun to entertain. It was fun for him to scare them at first but then he liked them to know they were in no actual danger.(rogue copyright whoever created him, sorry about the criticism).kayko felt the little vulpine nuzzling his tongue and couldn’t help but smile to himself.

It was raining again, turning once hard ground into mush. It was always gray out in lunaku.

The fox was asleep now. Its breath hitting his tongue cooling it.
Kayko went to a dry nearby cave that was large enough to accomidate him. He layed down trusting himself not to swallow the sleeping fox while he himself slept.

Michael stared out from the camp site under the concrete remains of a large factory. They had proved sufficient to keep his group dry during the night. He stared over toward the dry cave through the pouring rain. If this was Autumn what was winter like here? He couldn’t take it anymore. He got up and ran across the field to the cave. As he closed in on it he realised it wasn’t a cave at all but an airplane hangar covered in all kinds of plant growth and hidden behind massive fur trees. Airplanes had been phased out last century. He had never seen one up close but then again earth had been abandoned shortly after there was no longer a need for the airplane. He was still frustrated at the creature that had eaten the fox but he couldn’t help but stare in awe at the old hangar in all its enormity. He ran inside. The back part of the hangar was closed over with the biggest set of sliding doors michael had ever seen. They were almost entirely windows. The glass was green from the years of moss that had collected on them and stained the light showing through them. He walked up to the enormous creature laying in the middle and layed a punch on the side of its muzzle. Due to its enormous size , however, the punch barely faised it. It woke up and stared angrily down at him.
Why did you eat that fox, michael said, he’s ur own kind!
The giant wolf’s expression turn to a smile at the accusation of the little human.
What’s so funny!
Kayko lowered his head to the ground and opened his mouth showing michael the sleeping fox it held.
Michael said nervously, I don’t believe you.
Fine then, come and feel his pulse.
Michael approached him slowly and quickly snagged the fox’s arm. He looked up nervously and said, um…… he has a pulse.
The wolf picked the fox up with his thumb and pointer finger and gently placed him on the ground before michael.
The fox woke up and replied, its morning already?

The fox was very skinny. There were rounded bulges however where the muscles on its arms and legs were.
The fox, in all its despair tried to unclamp the jaws which imprisoned but soo realised that was hopeless. It collapsed down on hands and knees and frantically searched for som sort of escape. The fox though knew it was completely hopeless that high up in the mouth of a giant carnivor, though. it sat down
and looked down at its legs. they would be first to go in the stomach acid. it collapsed down onto the tongue.
The fox was so scared that when the tongue moved just a little the fox jerked violently and let out a loud yelp. After that the little creature whined and whimpered and put its bushy tail between its legs with its black and orange ears back to show submission to the obviously dominant creature.
its diaphragm expanded and contracted as its body breathed hard instictively to try to calm itself.
It layed down and continued to whimper with the warmest parts of its body, its stomach and chest, pressed against the giant tongue. Then it curled into the fetal position instinctively to protect its soft belly tissue, not that it would do any good against teeth the size of the fox's head.
The tongue responded instantly and pressed the tiny vulpine against the roof of its captor's mouth.
It screamed and wreathed violently trying to free itself of the enormous appendage. Its hand frantically searched for a hold so it could pull itself out.
A low gutteral growl came from behind it in the enormous throat that it feared so much. The little fox stopped struggling knowing that that was what the growl was for. What was he going to do to it?
The giant tongue pulled its little captive back and forth. The carnivor seemed like it wanted the fox to relax. The fox worried about what the purpose was but, being as tense as he was the little fox enjoyed the massaging.
The macro seemed less concerned with eating him and more with making him comfortable.
It was the best massage he had ever gotten. all of the muscles and joints were being shifted from his feet to his hands.
He wanted his captor to know that he was enjoying this so he nuzzled the giant tongue, a humble thank you for the treatment he was recieving.

The next town would take a couple days to get to. There were little villages on the way but they were way off the highway in rural lunaku. for part of the trip they took a shorter route that was an old trail through the woods.
The trail went for most of the way through the woods but also went through a field.
They looked out and saw a fox fleeing for its life. It was running toward them then suddenly two enormous paw-like feet overtook it. it was then wrapped in a giant hand and tossed into the macro's muzzle.
Michael cringed and fell to the ground not quite believing what he had seen. Darkwolf looked down sadly. "poor guy", he said. "we should have tried to save him", michael said. "Its a sad thing", said felos. "unfortunately it was too late for him". They stayed near there camped out for the night. Of course they had no fire. They didn't want to become the macro's next victims.

meanwhile................

The fox got up and looked around. It couldn't believe it. It was still alive. It crawled around looking for an exit.

An old wolf couple drive down lunakan highway 88 in an old fifties style pick-up truck. The junky truck began sputtering and rolled to a stop. The bottled coke in the cup holder started rippling the moment they stopped. They didn't notice at first when the male wolf got out to look at the engine, but when the male was outside with the trunk open the female noticed the rippling and called over her mate. He came over to and then they began to hear the pounding sound coming closer. He slammed the trunk closed and jumped back into the driver's seat and turned the ignition key. But it wouldn't start. Little did he know the battery was dead. Suddenly the giant figure of a wolf came out from behind the trees and stomped toward them. He frantically tried to start the car then the foot was right above them. His mate hid under the dashboard and started whimpering. He put his arms over his head and ducked, but instead of landing on them the foot landed on the pavement right in front of the truck totally missing them. He could have sworn the giant wolf missed them on purpose.
He kept on marching towark kenaku on the highway not even cracking the pavement.
Kenaku is Lunaku's largest city. It is about the size of nyc, but much poorer. As a canid city it's in a colder area since its residents all have thick coats of fur to protect themselves.
He passed town after town of canid residents with out even touching them.
He ran through enormous rock-lined overgrown drainage ditches to get to the center of kenaku, jumping bridges as he went.
While he was going other lunakans that lived in slums around the city didn't even seem to notice him. But once he got to the busy rundown business districts. They began fleeing and screaming in fear.
He bent down and grabbed the first group of running canids he came upon, their warm furry bodies squirming in his hands, when suddenly one of his little captives rcognized him. "hey, its bent-ear" a skinny little red fox said. The fox was a little kid who lived right next door to bent-ear and was good friends with him. Canids on the street below began recognizing and stopped fleeing and just looked up in wonder and amazement but still remained alert in case he had becom their enemy. Bent-ear had been all over the city's news when he saved a group of canids from rogue on the border.
They hadn't recognized him in his macro form.
He smiled down at the little fox and gave him a big wet lick along with the rest of the group. Then he announced, " evver since I was a kid ive been afraid rogue would cross the border and start attacking the villages, towns and cities of lunaku. My fear finally got to me and I decided to do something about it". His voice echoed throughout the poor ramshackle streets. "So I went to someone that could help me protect lunaku. I went to the master himself and got myself changed into a siz-changing wolf. I dont want any special treatment though, or i'll feel guilty"." im not a god so dont worship me. i want everyone here to go to heaven or at least not to go to hell on my account.
Everyone in kenaku wore a cross to protect themselves from satan and Bent-ear was no exception. He had a cross necklace macrosized when he was, so that he would have protection against rogue if he ever decided to fight him to get to lunaku.
There was a brief silence then every one of the skinny poverty stricken canids started cheering and clapping for their new protector.
Bent-ear put his captive canids back safely on the ground and ran a finger down the fox boy's back.

The wolf agreed to let him come. They had to walk to Natith, the closest city to there.
"Im Joseph darkwolf" he said ,"but just call me darkwolf. I dont really like my first name".
His last name, darkwolf, reffered to his jet black fur which made his family unique.
"I've been searching for my family ever since i escaped my owner".
The walk took almost thirty minutes in the deep snow. The city was luckily another canid city. As a lunakan city it was in poverty along with the rest of lunaku. They stopped for food at an old diner operating out of of one of the crumbling early twentieth century buildings.
The buildings had steep roofs adapted to the cold snowy climate. Most of the buildings were gray marble, brick or brownstone or a combination of them.
The roofs were mainly copper with at least two stories of dormer windows in them.
Most of the buildings had large arched wood windows to take full advantage of the winter enviroment and every one of the individualistic apartments had at least one terrace, usually with laundry hanging on clothes lines in it.
The once glorious lunakan style buildings were now in disrepair due to the poverty the country was going through.
As they walked toward the diner the local canids avoided michael(i finally came up with this name for my human character). They usually crossed the street when they saw him coming or walked into a building where they felt they would be relatively safe. "im sorry", he said "but why is everyone avoiding me"? "They fear humans", said Darkwolf "There have been many captures for slavery and fur, so they tend to avoid unfamiliar humans if possible. Plus, most humans treat us like shit anyway".
"not all humans are bad though, Darkwolf". "i know and they know but they're not taking any chances".
A homeless cat demon sat next to the front door of the restaraunt in front of a refrigerator box covered by a green piece of waterproof canvas. He looked like a human except for his black-furred tail and cat ears which were partially hidden by his long black hair.
He looked at them with his light green eyes and said timidly", If you have any leftovers, could i have them. Michael and Darkwolf looked at eachother than Darkwolf looked back down at the cat demon.
"Why don't you come eat with us"? he said.
His black cat ears and tail perked up at the request."really, thank you".
He had a certain calmness about him.
"meh name's Felos", he said, "and i live in that refrigerator box by the door". With that he laughed. His mind seemed unafected by the poverty of the area.
A skinny red and white husky took their orders.
She casually said"Hey Felos, I haven't seen you in here lately. How come"?
"I figured I should stop stealing food from you", he said.
"Really, its no problem, Felos".
"Besides, im leaving this city soon anyway, Nikita".
"Well, if you ever need us we'll be here", she said." i'll miss you".
She began walking away but them remembered to take their orders.
After they ate and went outside Nikita hugged Felos and repeated what she had said earlier.
Felos instinctively knew they were traveling and asked to come with them and they gladly said yes.
He went and packed up the canvas and the few things he had into a backpack.

He layed on the couch in the large main room. And when he looked out the large window behind the couch there they were. The glowing pairs of red eyes. He screamed "leave these people alone"! "They've never done anything to you"!
He curled himself up under the blanket. After a couple of seconds he threw the blanket off, ready to fight, but the eyes were gone.
He woke up the next morning to see snow outside. There had been a blizzard while he was sleeping.
The whole pack was sitting around the table. There were 17 members in all. Besides the two foxes there were 8 wolves, 5 coyotes and two huskies. Of course this was not counting their 7 pups.
The night before they had given him heavy clothes to survive the cold.
The pack offered to share breakfast with him and he graciously accepted.
The breakfast was waffles and scrapple.
After he finnished there was a frantic knock at the front door.
The alpha got up and answered it. A skinny wolf came running in and pushed the door closed.
He begged the pack to shelter him. He was being persued by humans.
The alpha commanded everyone to hide and they readilly obeyed but not before barring the steel front door, putting out the fire and making the place look abandoned.
The wolf's tracks had been covered quickly by the thick snow outside so following the tracks was now near impossible.
They hid for a couple of hours but the humans never came.
"Im sorry i made you have to hide for that long" the wolf said apoligetically.
The alpha said "really, we dont mind".
"Well, i'll be going now", the wolf said "im sorry i can't give you anything for your troubles".
The human (cant think of good name) interrupted. "Can I go with you".

He walked towards it, careful to keep alert and keep hidden from whatever was making the smoke incase it showed hostility towards him.
Gradually a marble tower roof came into view then the tower then another one behind it. The roofs of the towers had a gentle curve to them and came up to a point. Each were topped by a rusty iron cross.
The windows were big old factory style windows covered in decades of rust that blead down the tower sides. They were arched at the top. A center building with a steep tericata roof and equally rusted dormer windows connected the two towers. Every one of them was barred.
Ivy vines had begun to take over the sides and grass was on the roofs. An enclosed walkway extended from the the center of the third story over the highway to yet another tower of the same style.
The whole structure had an ornate old fashioned feel to it.
The smoke rose from a chimney on the left end of the building and a dim light shown through one of the large windows.
He darted into the building's front porch which extended the whole front length of the building along the highway.
Careful not to be seen he walked cautiously toward a door the hung wide open and crooked on its hinges.
The rain that poured off the roof made it hard to hear what was going on inside.
He sat down wondering what he should do.
He worried about what he would find inside if he did go in.
When he realized that he hadn't eaten in days he decided to chance it. He went in careful to keep quiet.
A small flight of steps led into a large room in which the fireplace was.
On a piece of steel grating over the fire were various types of glass bottles filled with an unknown liquid. Most were clear but some were brown or green glass so he couldn't tell. One was blue. The colored ones were letting off strange aromas.
Something poked him in the back. It was a spear held by a young male gray fox. He called out his mate.
She came over and sniffed the human.
"He doesn't have the scent of those trapper humans", she said.
The male withdrawled the spear and said "who are you? You don't have the scent of the humans around here".
They were interrupted by about seven pups who came into the large room from a doorway that led to the small windowless room where they slept. Three were foxes, three were wolves and the last one was a coyote.
One of the wolf pups only had only one eye as evidenced by the the shred of cloth wrapped over where one of his eyes had been. He had lost it when he was shot at by a trapper outside the building. He didn't mind though. he was just happy to be alive.
One of the other fox pups tugged on the tablecloth he was wearing. It looked up and in a sad tone asked "are you here to take mom and dad away"?
The man stared down at it in disbelief.
"of course not", he said in a reassuring tone.
The rest of the pack was out hunting and the fox couple had been appointed to watch the pups.
He asked about the bottles.
"oh, them"." the clear ones are for sterilizing water, and the colored ones are for making herbs and medicines. We can't afford many pots so we usually use whatever we can find and glass bottles are very common around here. We run the hospital and give medicine to the other packs around here".
"Oh, and I almost forgot, there are some clothes upstares if you're done wearing that tablecloth".

he woke up the next morning stiff and tired. It was pouring down rain. It wasn't so scary in the day time. The abandoned house was at the bottom of the hill. nothing stirred in the vacant black holes that had once been windows. water was flowing directly down the side yard into the huge lake behind the house.

The hill was strewn with garbage from decades earlier the largest being other abandoned cars. A tablecloth with a sixties flower design lay wrapped around a branch a couple of feet from the door.
He got out and wrapped himself in it to keep dry and began climbing the hill. He knew the trash had to come from somewhere so he began climbing the hill. He started seeing chunks of concrete and asphalt and then a 4 foot fence made of stone and intricate ironwork above him.
A concrete path four lanes wide stretched for miles into the mountains. weeds and grass grew up from between the cracks in the old concrete.
in the distance he saw smoke and decided to follow the road untill he found what was making it.

He could see for the first time since his capture. He ran through the doorway and fell to his knees on the cold wet ground. That was when he noticed it. Numerous glowing red eyes stared out at him from the darkness.
He fell to all fours and looked down hopelessly cloaking his face in a veil of his long brown hair and cursed his luck, but when he looked up they were gone.
were they playing mind games with him?
He breathed in deeply. This couldn't be happening he thought. It just simply couldn't be real.
It was hard to see in the dense forrest through the thickenning darkness.
He stopped briefly to grasp the situation and possible escape routs from it.He was prey and after being captured he would be tortured to death. That was the incentive for him to make the hunt interesting.
He saw an abandoned car ahead of him wedged against a huge tree. It had obviously been there a while since the tires were rotted out and rust had nearly taken over the exterior.
It was raining again. He opened the door and jumped into the back seat where he curled up pulling his legs against his chest. He cried for about an hour burying his head in the vinyl upholstry and somehow drifted into sleep.

He sat in a room alone tied to an aluminum arm chair. The leather cushioning had rotted away long ago since he felt only the cold springs against his skin. His arms were tied to the chair arms and his feet to the cross-bracing on the bottom.
He breathed hard, an instinct to his fear which flowed in waves to every inch of his malnourished body making him shiver. He'd been awake for 2 days strait. Of course you'd be too if you were in his situation.
The voice that came from the darkness had said he would be in the most unimaginable pain, the likes of which had only been expirienced by a few people.
This thought stirred up even more fear in his gut. He struggled in the chair stretching and flexing his wireey body but despite his best efforts he couldn't even loosten the rope that bound him.
He heared a clanging. He started struggling even more but it did nothing.
The clanging got louder and more sped up. It was coming from somewhere behind him in the darkness that swallowed the whole room.
If he hadn't been gagged he would have screamed.

The clanging stopped when he gave up the struggle with his bindings. He bent his head back to see what was there and hit something hard....it was a stone wall. If there was a wall behind him where had the noise come from?
Intent on knowing what the noise was, he struggled in the chair again and was again met with the noise. It was coming from the chair. The left side arm was loose. At long last, a glimmer of hope. He shook the arm until the bolt came out and hit the floor with a metallic bang.
the arm came loose and he slipped his arm off along with the rope. He proceeded to untie his other arm and legs.
He got up and stumbled forward. His legs were like jello from sitting so long. He recovered his balance and stared wide-eyed into the smothering darkness trying to penetrate it. He felt along the wall for about ten feet the his hand went out into thin air. He slowly went down the hall making sure to be alert for who or whatever was preying on him. He stopped and listened closely. There was a clicking sound approaching him from behind. Without even thinking the human bolted for his life down the long hall and into a wooden barrier.
The clicking was coming closer. Fear gripped him as he searched for a knob or handle. Whatever hunted him was closing in on its prey. Just then his hand hit something metal. a door knob! he twisted it and the door squeaked open.
He quickly slammed the door and ran forward tripping over something onto the stairs. It was the bottom step.
The door swung open behind him and he frantically crawled up the stairs and into an abandoned house.
