Hm, where to begin... I dont even know where to start...

I'd like to start off by saying I just came back from Morocco after going through Spain. And I'm just recovering my energy since the trip-- which was a great experience. I had some influences in my artwork and stories that were already deriving from these cultures (especially in recent years) so it was cool to see where they derived from and I'm sure it'll show up in my artwork for a while.

Nevertheless, it's going to take me a bit to catch up with everyone and everything going on so please be patient, I shall be back on the ball soon.

In fact, you know what? I'll stop my message here and tell you all about future plans later. I'm gonna go have me some tea and relax. <3

And I urge everyone to do the same!

So spring break has started and I have a lot to work on:
BUSY. I was jokingly saying that Spring Break would be busy but its no joke.

First of all, by the end of this week I will be making a post about the sketchbooks with some examples. I'm working out the kinks on the sample ones (which will also be for sale btw) and will be making a form up for those who are interested.
You can choose everything about them from the type of paper to how to design the cover. I'm all ears. I'm here to work and please~

Second, I've been finishing up a quick cosplay of Ampharos (pokemon) for the D.C. Cherryblossom festival. Thats probably taken up my last couple days of work since I wanted to pop it out and get it out of the way for the rest of break. It's really cute. I'm still reconsidering my choice in fabric right now, but the nice thing is it doubles as a nice spring dress.

Spring is here! Its amazing~

Third: I'd like to put Tintostudio.com back up very soon. I'm currently in the process of negotiating problems with my last online hosting to join a new one. I'll let you know if the domain name changes altogether. There's the possibility it will just to save myself some money and trouble of transfering domains at the moment. My studio will continue to be "Tinto Studio" however. I'm even thinking about legalizing the name to myself.

Fourth, for anyone in the Baltimore area, please come to The8x10 and check out Swampadelica and The Black and Tan Fantasy Band. The Fantasy Band is awesome and Swampadelica is awesome AND the band that both my aunt and uncle are in, so I'll be there to support as well! This isn't just an advertisement though, if you remember I did artwork for The8x10 before for an assignment for my Concepts class:

Upon finding out (on accident) that Swamp was playing I contacted Brian Shupe about making a poster for their opening and he gave the okay! Not only that, but I'm being drafted for logos and t-shirt designs for the band 3fifths since Brian's having an open call for artists to do designs right now.

It's amazing how these little opportunities open doors to others.

Just a note about Katsucon this month...
Innnteresting? Well I certainly had a decent time but I'm not sure if I'd say 'good' exactly. It was a really weird weekend. Never the less I had my share of fun. It just goes to remind me that I should probably just get a con table next time Katsucon comes around (hopefully if table reg. isn't f'ed up like it was this year.) The masquerade was pretty good surprisingly, I had the best panini ever, I missed the dancing since I couldn't get out of my costume though--

which reminds me, I did get into my room eventually! I was right to think that my friend went into Panel 1 (or whatever room was right there) and I met her after an hour. Thanks for keeping me a bit of company while I was floundering around! Sorry if I was a little out of it x3 Aa, I realized afterwards that I didn't see you in any of your costumes btw D: So sad.

--not 'too' many problems with costumes for once, and despite missing gaps of the con, it had its moments.

But I degress; event over. All done. wait for the next one.
(Which I think will be the Cherry Blossom festival?)

On a returning note,
I'm working on two sketchbooks to show as examples of the types of the handmade sketchbooks I will have for sale. Once again, If anyone is interested in learning more about this in the meantime or maybe interested in purchasing or commissioning a sketchbook from me, please let me know. Once I'm done the promos I'll put up more specific details.

Unrelated to that, I wish I did more artwork for myself. Lately I've been wanting to draw something cool for myself, but there's just too much homework-art to do.

Important Announcement!
This semester I'm taking a bookbinding class so I'll be making different types of books this spring. I was going to think of something new to sell during Otakon and I think this is going to be it. So just an announcement that I shall be selling handmade sketchbooks following Katsucon! That's right. Handmade and custom for commission. Hardcover or soft. Want a sketchbook themed to your favourite character? Just looking for something nice with a specific type of paper? Now you get a chance!

Mending stuff is just about finished with Ingway's costume so after making sure all my other costumes have gotten properly re-mended I'm going to see if I can't fix/finish Steena or Darc's costumes in time for the con. It seems like all travel preparations and expenses have finally been worked out so everything is looking good.

I'm not sure if I'll have time to go to prepare something to sell in the artist alley for the convention or not, but if theres something up you'll probably recognize it from deviantart. x3 I dont think I have time for anything new this week with all the homework I've got to work on.

Speaking of which, anyone else a little worried about catching up after spending the weekend off at this thing? D: (mumble-mumble)

Alright well I haven't writen a post in a while (as usual) so lets you and me catch up:

Winter Break:
Uneventful. Made art sparingly. Spent 50% of break screwing up my sleeping pattern, 20% fixing my screw up, and 30% sleeping and waking and doing productive things at productive hours. That's all that really has to be said about it

Wow that was fast. Guess that just about catches things up about past. Now to Current things:

Back to School:
It looks like its going to be another good semester. I've got some great classes this time around. However the workload is a little heavier and I'm already seeing tons of work in my lap to coincide with sewing for Katsucon and just plain old laziness on my part. So its work-work for me right now.

And speaking of work I'm currently trying very hard to make ends meet with money right now. I'd planned to get a job this semester and even have applications I've picked up right in front of me. However the formerly mentioned school work has me wondering if its really a good idea. And yet here I can hardly pay for Katsucon this season...

Solutions, solutions... I'm in such need for money.

Katsucon:
I'm going. Thats about all that I'm sure about at the moment, heh. I took Steena and Darc off of my costume list because the con crept up on me and I've been living too bassakwards generally right now to get sewing done properly. I haven't even fixed Ingway's pants which is probably only a two hour job, give or take. That doesn't mean they wont get done or wont come with me to the con. It just means its getting more unlikely and in the event that I just want to take it easy, I'll guarentee they wont be there.

Putting my little Blue sub artwork and the Noein piece into artist alley. I'd like to put up more, but making art goes under the cosplay category right now-- and I'd feel guilty working on something trivial when I have this nice stack of homework next to me that 'also' needs to get done.

(Aa, the life of a student...)

Anyway, that is all for now.

AUSA Wrap-up:
This is late, but thanks to everyone who visited and to people who were interested in my artwork. Having a booth was a very educational experience. Also learned that if I want to make any money at a con I need a hell of a lot more fanart. Hah! I did get a few amazing commissions though which was exciting and also a lot of generated interest which is encouraging. It means although I didn't sell much, people want to buy my style. So hopefully, I'll sell more nexttime with my newfound knowledge~

I had a good time although it breezed by really quickly. ((Here's a peek from our Angelic Layer group via *Flying-fox. :3 [link]))

Commissions: If you're reading this Sean, I'm sending out your Persona 3 artwork this weekend! I apologise for the delay, but I hadn't realized my professors would decide their work would be my Thanksgiving break. *sighs*

Thanksgiving went okay, mostly quiet, nothing much, and right now I'm currently in a muddle over finals since it seems every professor wants their final a week early (which is this coming week! surprise!) so that the following week is breezy. Obviously this means I shall be hermiting, unseen, but very much heard in my frustration these next two weeks trying to pop out massive amounts of art. It also means there'll be artwork to see though, for those who've been waiting to get a peek (sorry, a lot of it I haven't got to scanning and documenting yet! ^^,)

But anyway, looking forward to break coming up!
The school screwed up my schedule too, but it looks like after some necessary steaming, that's been straightened out as well.

My mind has been a total mess this weekend.
You ever have that anxious feeling that comes from having a nice full day to do 'something', and yet have so much to choose from you can't decide where to start? Thats been this whole weekend.

AnimeUSA coming up this coming weekend and I've got a lot to prep for the artist table yet. I've also got quite a bit of sewing to do that could've gotten done this weekend and just didn't. It looks like I'll be finished Mao in time, but my doubts lie in Steena. I've got too many prints to prepare to worry about how to balance a giant red collar on my shoulders. Honestly. If time permits I want it done though. Steena's who I looked forward to most
So yes, I had to worry about this and the homework coming this week.
Combined, this disintrigrated my brain into a pile of unyeilding mush. >>, Thankfully I've had periods in between where I actually managed to get some work done, but I'm obviously very busy.
Or unbusy. Stupid antagonism.

Look out for a relief post when the con is over.
No more sewing for a while and time to regather myself since after its over its just a couple days and I'll be just in time for Thanksgiving break.

As of this afternoon I've remembered the importance of sleep, especially in relation toward antagonization.
Never have I felt sou motivated to do work then right after I've taken a refreshing nap. Which once again leads me to re-confirm that I am in fact in need of daily naps to function.

Maybe more sleep, but somehow I feel like thats just impossible.

Anyway, life's pretty good.
For any of you student-friends we have a cosplay club underground working on Tuesdays on the 5th floor Meyerhoff Lounge. Tomorrow's looking like it'll be good. I'm excited to get some sewing done for AUSA. And you know what? Same with going to counsiling tomorrow. I'm hoping since introductory session is over now, we can get cracking on keeping me from antagonizing this year.

But yeah. Things seem to be going toward a good direction right now. And as you see it's productive. oo I can't think of a better way of saying it. Its just really nice.

Anyway, School has begun.
And its looking pretty good.*content*
I'm a little sad I dont have a day off all week, but my schedule has a very comfortable flow to it so that I dont feel like all I'm doing is sitting n class all week.

A few minour problems and distastes about a class or two-- And a little pre-woe about the workload I'm gonna have, but otherwise? My classes look like they'll go just fine.
And hopefully it'll stay that way.

Hm, only problem I foresee is that I've got this horrible lazy pace going though. You know, the type you get first week that has you stuck in this lazy-bored pace? I hope it doesn't adhere.

During my excessive time,
I started playing Digital Devil Saga as school started which has been... interesting? It's different than my usual genre and cheesy at times-- yet intriguing and entertaining. The story concepts are great too. I only complain about getting used to random encounters again, too-muted scenery, and the fact that the characters need to be more convincing acting/scenario/dialog-wise. Even as a bunch of emos. The game is older though sou it passes. x3 Erica said the devil forms were ugly but I think they're cool. Its nice to see something in a different style~
Sou tired of happy prissy games.

Still working on fan-art prints for AUSA, however school is going to slow that down for a while sou don't expect anything too soon. I may photoshop-edit the Noein one yet for improvements. O'kami up soon... maybe some successful assignments... If they're, uh, successful.
