Kay, so as much as I hate it, I'm cutting down on my arting time to finish High School. I should be graduated in the next 1 or two months, so I won't be gone long. I may do something random here and there, but there won't be any full tSW pages till after I get all the work done. I'll update the status below as i get stuff done. I don't see it taking me any longer then December-ish. Two a day for a 5 day week will get me done in about two weeks, but the Art courses will set me back a bit. We'll see, I may be back before I planned....

There is a new home for tSW on dA!

Add to your watch list if you want to keep up with the comic. I'll be slowly removing tSW stuff from this account as soon as I get it all on the new one. That means the pages and any and all character stuff. Won't be here no more.

To those who got commission from me, I'M SOOOO SORRRY that it's taking me so long. School is a mess right now, and no.... I didn't get much of a summer break. On the bright side, I have two books left plus three electives and I graduate FOREVAHZ!

Then I need to get a part-time job so I can pay my parents for my room and board..... something I still don't understand... anyway. I'm sorry, things just got crazy. And I'll get them done as soon as my schedule clears up within the next two weeks. (I'm going to be super busy this coming week, and then I'm going somewhere over the weekend (6-9th of August) then I'm having a friend stay a week,(you know who you are.... I hope)

Transformers 2: Movie Review

So I went and saw Transformers 2 last night. Now, before I get into my thoughts of the movie and such, let me say this: I never saw the cartoons. Never played with toys. Not a huge Transformers fan. I loved the first movie, though.

Every time I go into a theater to see a movie, I walk in with a 5 star opinion of the move. If I like what I see, it may keep it's 5 stars, depending on actor performance, composition of the shots, writing and content. That said, here's my final rating, and I'll say why in a moment. And I'll try to make this as spoiler-less as humanly possible.

3 an' a half. Not bad, all things considering.

"Why," you ask? Well, for starters, what killed those two and a half stars was one thing: The fantastically annoying sexual jokes that I didn't find funny. And the group I was with didn't find it funny either. One or two subtle jokes is fine, but there were things that I just did not need to see (or hear).

I'm scarred for life I tell you! LIFE!

Aside from that, the only things that kept the rating as it was, was the music Score (by Steve Jablonsky and Linkin Park) in addition to the Soundtrack that had music from Linkin Park, Greenday, Taking Back Sunday, the Fray, Nickelback, The All-American Rejects, Hoobastank, and Stained (just to name the bands ones I recognized). Another plus was the actors performance (which I found believable) and shots (which were well placed) as well as the CGI FX (which were done with an amp'd up version of Maya and 3ds Max. So my friend says who is working to become CGI animator, and he's pretty good thus far.)

So. Would I got see it again? Probably not.
Would I go buy it on DVD? Most likely no.
Would I watch it if I came on TV for free (not Pay-per-view)? Probably.

No, don't let my opinion turn you off from going to see it. It was a very good movie (Terminator Salvation and Star Trek still holds first place for me), and you are entitled to your own views of the film, this is just mine.

That said, it's worth 6.50 for a ticket but I wouldn't go see it in IMAX, like I had originally wanted.

Photoshop help? Can't use custom brushes. -le gasp

Well.... I can use them from about a minute, then the program decides to freeze and shutdown. And it's not just custom made brushes, it's any brush BUT the hard round brushes. And I use my own custom made brushes for my backgrounds (namely for tSW). It's annoying cause I can't do my BGs the way I normally do. It has, however, taught me to press Ctrl+s evreytime I make a change..... which isn't really a bad thing. But I still have not clue as to what could be causing it.

So any ideas? I'm using:
Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit (64-bit OS's are weird and XP still Pwns all. Can't wait till Windows 7 comes out though)
3.00GB RAM (would love to have 16GBs, OMGosh. <3)
Adobe Photoshop CS2

EDIT: Okay, so I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and I'm still having the same problem. If anyone has any clue as to what could be affecting it, please tell.

tSW Delays

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know. I said page two would be up soon. I didn't lie, I really wanted to have it done by now. Real life jumped up and got in the way. However, I've got news.

I'm messing with the mythology of tSW. Originally it was going to stay more or less the same as it was as "the Wanderers." Now, I'm having all these ideas pop into my head about how this happens, and what caused that, and who did what and why they did it. But I had now way of showing it without going off the storyline of the comic. Now I do.

"Devastation" tells the story of how everything happened. It has a lot of backstory, and goes pretty deep. It will be darker emotionally than tSW, though it will have some lighter and humorous moments. Characters from tSW will be present, as will some old characters that were going to be used, then were scrapped. (Such as Whiteclaw, Kellan, Keltak and Shaluta) There will be humans (yay) right from the get go. It will take place in a military compound. You will also learn of the planet the story takes place on.

Some important notes:
1. This will not be a full Graphic Novel. there will be "Episodes", each 5-10 pages long. Depending on how long it takes to tell a specific story. No telling right now just how many episodes there will be.
2. There will be story arcs, as well as one Episode stories. (Stories that take place during the main arc, but are events worth mentioning.)
3. Many new characters. And by many I mean a LOT.
4. This is still a work in progress and won't be released, at the earliest, till Fall or Winter of 2009.
5. When it is released, I hope to have one full episode every month. With tSW being released at the same time, every other week. For example: If I post page 10 of tSW on a Friday, a full Episode of Devastation will be posted on Saturday.

By the way. I'm super tired, so if none of this makes sense, please tell me so I can clear things up when I'm not half asleep. I'm going to bed, cause I can't think of anything more to say. I'll edit this when I do, tomorrow.... maybe. -passes out-

ART
Q: What program do you use?
A: I use Adobe Photoshop CS2.

Q: What do you use to draw?
A: I use my WACOM Bamboo Tablet while working on the computer. And I use graphite pencils while away from the computer. I rarely work with colored pencils, or any other medium, though I would love to.

Q: How long have you been drawing?
A: I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil, but I've been taking it seriously for about 6 years now.

Q: Can I use your art on my website/blog/rp forum/community?

tSW - Minor Changes

Hey all. A quick update about tSW. I'm changing how it starts out. Adding a bit more mystery to things. And when I post the page, you get not one, but two pages. It's a two-page spread, and let me say, it looks totally flippin' awesome thus far. I'm not gonna say anything else, except that it just looks cool.

I'm also going for a more realistic look for the wolves, and fairly simple, yet detailed, backgrounds. I'm trying to push my current skills and develop my own style better.

As far as the release, I don't see any problems arising with that. It may be up late tomorrow night, cause I have a nasty habit of staying up later than I should.

I'll let you all know if I run into any speed bumps that will push back the release, but like I said, I don't anticipate any problems.

On a side note, if you haven't already, go check out ~Danman87's page. He's got some fantastic music that I just cannot stop listening to. It's all instrumental but it's perfect. It's been much of my inspiration for the Srytinn Wolves.

tSW Release - Friday

On Friday, the 13th of February, when most of the uber superstitious types will be hiding at home, I will be posting page 1 of the Srytinn Wolves Graphic Novel. I'm hoping, that also by Friday, I'll have bought some webspace to use for as tSW's home outside of dA.

Now, because I really need to focus more on my schooling, I will be taking a break from doing pages. Maybe a week or two. Maybe more, maybe less. The Srytinn Wolves - Graphic Novel Reboot

It's official, and =ShadowWolf2008 and I are excited! The Wanderers will now be called "the Srytinn Wolves." There have been several other name changes as well - pack names as well as names of characters, but in a nutshell:

The Svartons are still the enemies of the Kyrros, except for a different reason. They are also Srytinns with their own powers and abilities, and not normal Timber wolves.

Wanderers news

So, after much talk with my partner-in-crime, =ShadowWolf2008, we have come to a decision about our collab project, the Wanderers. We are removing the Stargate Atlantis element from it. Completely. Most of the characters are undergoing renames and revamps, and several new characters are being introduced. A new plot has been approved by my partner, and I have stared re-scripting it. I'll be drawing the pages as I write the script.

However... we've hit a bit of a snag. I need a new name for it, and I'd like for it to have the name of the main enemy in it... but we can't think of one. We need something evil and powerful sounding, but simple and preferably easy to spell. We need something that can strike fear into young pups hearts. Any suggestions would be fantastic!

Also, I'll be getting character sheets up for the characters. I need to finish one thing for Shadowwolf first....

Several name changes have taken place. Indigo is now Kava (meaning Powerful in Japanese), Hunter is now Ryu (said Riâuu meaing Dragon in Japanese), his brother, Galacitc is now Xrow (said Zrow, and means nothing). Hawkbill is now Hawkeye. Jaksune is now spelled Jaqsune.

My iPod has died. Not surprising, really. It's so beat up, I'm shocked that it didn't die years ago. 1G Shuffles are tough if mine could survive me for as long as it did. It's ironic. I start up my iTunes, and it plays 'End Of All Hope' by Nightwish. It fits how I feel right about now...

Yo, listen up! Here's the story...

I'm still alive. In news I ordered a new tablet, and it's in transit - so I should be getting it tomorrow. I ordered in on Saturday, and it didn't ship till today. So two days ain't bad at all.

I've been waiting for the comics I ordered from TFAW.com for almost two weeks. I should get them tomorrow, too. If so, it will be the. best. day. EVER... Period.

So, I'll have some new arts up soon for you all.

Also, I've got a new computer, and by new I mean rebuilt, but it works and is MUCH faster and the best part? It was free, and it works pretty good as such.

For those who have no idea about computers, you can skip this.

This is from the System Properties and Device Manager of my computer:

- Microsoft XP Pro (I'm using a Vista Transformation pack. I was unimpressed by the newest OS, but I still like the looks.)
- Intel Pentium 4 CPU 1.50GHz
- 1.49 GHz, 768 MB of RAM
- NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400
- 80 Gig Master with 20 Gig Slave (100 GB Total. I would LOVE to have a Terabit drive one of these days.)

Like I said: not bad for being free, and using spare parts. It original had 128 MB of RAM, and I said: "Uh, no. That will not do at all."

Wanderers News...

I have the final 4 pages fully scripted. Don't ask why I'm working backwards, I really don't know. But it was easy 'cause it has little to do with the first issue, but it leads directly into the second issue.

Expect to see a TON of Wanderers concepts and character sheets once I get my new tablet. I've been itching to work on some TW stuff for a LONG time.

Scare ya? Good. No, in all seriousness I'm still gong along with it. It won't be done until all the issues are done. And I would never cancel it without giving you a good reason. Now for that news I talked about: I'm re-scripting the beginning. It may not be as dramatic as I would like, but I still like it better. Less hoomans to draw which means that I can start drawing it ASAP.

I may be delayed in coloring it. I need 25 more bucks to have enough money to get a new Tablet. Then the first TW page will the first thing that I will put up. Ya'll been waiting too long for it, and I hope it's worth it.

Yo, listen up! Here's the story...

So nothing really new. I'm working on horse anatomy for the first time in... 5 years. I pretty much quit drawing them soon after I was getting good at wolves - and I sucked at horses at that time.

I'm thinking of making a new fursona. I have a name, species, design and such thought of. Now I just need to new tablet so I can draw it out and show you all.

I'm finally figuering out the more complex stuff of photo manipulation. -points to my journal image and new icon- Speaking of the new journal image, the words on it all mean something in the mythology of the Wanderers. And yes, I know there are misspellings - I may fix them later. It depends on how much they annoy me. -shrugs-

Yup, that's... about it. Just letting you all know I'm still alive.

Sculpting?

Listen up, yo!

So, I'm really wanting to take up sculpting. I need something to do other than digital art. And, as odd as it may sound, I'm starting to get a little bored of it - ergo, I'm looking at new things, and new challenges. Therefore, I'm going to take up sculpting.

But I need some help. I need to know what kind of materials are good for the medium. What works good for wire armatures, tools, types of paint, ect. I already have my heart set on working with Super Sculpey, so that's taken care of.

Don't ask about the title. I'm getting hyper off Dr. Pepper as my brain slowly shuts down from the lack of needed sleep. However, falling asleep to a mix of Three Days Grace, AC/DC, Black Sabbath and the Iron Man soundtrack isn't so bad.

Anywho, the purpose of this journal is to inform all those whom actually read it, is that after I buy a new tablet, and get a P.O. Box -or something of the like- I'll be able to take Check and/or Money Orders for Commissions. So now payment choices are not limited to PayPal alone.

Listen up, yo!

Ugh, really not feeling all that great. A large soda + popcorn + some ice cream = a Sugar Overdose. It's been about a couple hours since I started feeling... off and got some nutritious food (A couple Almonds, some other stuff with protein in it and a wee bit of lasagna) in my belly - and I'm still feeling a bit shaky. Not as bad, but it's still annoying... and somewhat worry-some. Too much sugar = me ending up a diabetic. And I'd really like to avoid that. And today has been a bit of a wake-up call that I need to take better care of what I eat and drink - just like my Mom's been telling me for years.

So, after I finished with my afternoon chores, I decided to put my new sub - thanks to =ShadowWolf2008 - to good use and install a new CSS. You like? Go drool over it here.

And now, after seeing Star Wars: The CLONE WARS, I can give a proper review of it.

EPIC. Absolutely. Beyond any shadow of a doubt, EPIC. Not better than the movies, be defiantly worth seeing. I WILL be buying the DVD when it comes out, and I WILL be watching the new series when it starts up later this year. (Cartoon Network on October 3, 2008)

There. Done. I'm not feeling good enough to type out a loong review, but I'd say that *grantgoboom's review of the movie is good, and reflects my thoughts perfectly. Go read it here. Then, if you haven't already, go see the movie. I know I didn't walk out of the theater disappointed in the least. It's something every Star Wars fan will enjoy in some fashion or another.

Listen up, yo!

My tablet is officially dead. The cord had already been repaired once after our little ankle-biter decided he'd chew clean through the wire. It never really worked quite right since my dad "fixed" it.

Now, yesterday... or was the day before...? I dunno, anyway, I tripped on the wire, and it came apart. Yay. -.- So now I'm all bummed 'cause now I can't color all the stuff I was planning on coloring, and I have no money to buy a new one. I don't really wanna take the chance of taking the time, time I don't have, to repair it then it not working or working worse than it was.

Oh, and Commissions are closed again till I get a new tablet.

I'm looking at getting a WACOM Bamboo (not the Bamboo Fun) for 70 bucks + tax. ($75.41 at BestBuy) Anyone else use one? Are you happy with it?

Oh, and the Sub was payment for a commish from =ShadowWolf2008 Thx gril! Now I just need to find the time to get a Journal CSS up... x.x

Scanner dead. Tablet dead. Well, not sure about the scanner. I need to reinstall it to make sure, BUT my tablet is most definitely DEAD. So what does this mean? No artz till I get a new one, and I can't get a new one till I get nearly 100 bucks.

Does that qualify as a Catch-22? Yup. It does.

For those that don't know what a "Catch-22" is: according to Webster.com, a Catch-22 is... a problematic situation for which the only solution is denied by a circumstance inherent in the problem or by a rule ; also : the circumstance or rule that denies a solution

OH and that also means I can't do commissions! Fer cry'n out loud! IT NEVER ENDS! x.x And I have like sketches that I really wanna finish and show you all. Like for TW and Drift Waters and, and, and....

Seriously?? I've been open for commissions for nearly two months, and I've gotten no notes, no comments, nothing about anyone asking about a commission from me?

I mean, aside from =ShadowWolf2008. She's the only one who's ever commissioned me... aside from another guy I know in real life.

Back on topic - am I doing something wrong here? Because as far as I can tell, it goes like this: I open for commissions, people contact me, we work out details, they pay me half up front, I do the art, I send the works to the person, and they get me the rest of the payment. Right??

I seriously need to know what's up, cause I'm really starting to get frustrated with this. I've been on dA, collectively, for nearly 3 years (since September 6, 2005), and I've only gotten commissions from the two previously mentioned people. (Not that I'm complaining or anything. I thank you, Shadow and Tim, for commissioning me =3 )

Commissions is my only means of income. I have no job, aside the occasional baby sitting job, which I've only done twice. But that's not the point. The point is, I'm wondering what's up.

Is there something wrong with my art? With me? With my system of payment? (PayPal is the absolute only way for me) With the amount of time it takes me to do things? I take my time with free stuff? (I get commissions done pretty fast) Or is it something else? I really need to know.

By the way. Sketch commissions are the only thing I have open right now.

So anyway. First. I'm putting TW on hold till I learn to draw humans, and become comfortable with it. (Could take a while) And before all those who bother to read this, go: NO! U CANT! I NEED IT NAOWZ!!11!1!one!!!1! (which I doubt anyone will, but w/e ) I have a couple reasons.

One: My scripting format is one some might find confusing if you've never seen/made a literal movie script.

Two: I often have trouble conveying complex things over the internet. I'm better over the phone or in person, but for safety's sake, that won't be happening unless by some freak of nature I meet you in person and you become a good friend. (I can almost guarantee that not happening either. Sure, call me paranoid. )

and...

Three: I would be easier on both =ShadowWolf2008 and I if I did it myself. For the above reasons. I'm going to be taking Ho-To-Draw human classes in a few months. It should go by fast a smooth cause I learned the basics from my Sister-In-Law who let me borrow a REALLY thick book on the subject.

And now for something completely different. (just to quote Monty Python )

I need some input on my work in progress novel, Three Brothers. I would like to know if Three Brothers (3Bros) would make a good Graphic Novel. I'm not really comfortable with my writing skills just yet, and I can see 3Bros as a GN... I'm just wondering if anyone else could.

Now, just to set the stage, as it twere:

Three Brothers tells the story of Ipiktok, Miksa and Kakrayok, three Gray Wolf brothers struggling to survive in 1920's Alaskan Wilderness. It's their story from beginning to end. Birth to death... and it's not a happy fairy tale. The trio is forced to face many challenges, from Hunters to Bears to other Wolf packs and other hostile animals (Moose ect) Basically, it's a dramatized version of the life a real wolf would be forced to live at that time - except it's three wolves not just one.

There are a couple points that I hope to achieve with the story.

One: The life a Wolf is far from easy. It's alot like our lives actually. It has ups and downs.

Two: Wolves are social animals. Family oriented. Packs are usually made up of one family, or of wolves that are related to the Alphas in some way.

Three Brothers is meant to but a good light on wolves. Not the sour one that fairy tales and other stories have put on them. There is no single enemy, no foe for them to defeat.

Help Needed!
Comic is based on the TV show Stargate: Atlantis. Must have some knowledge of how the characters from the TV show look and act. Must be able to draw humans in a semi-realistic style. Sketches only. Payment is one free, commission of your choice for every 4 humans sketched. (You do 8 humans, you get two free commissions, and so on.) Must be willing to work on the project for the whole duration (3 issues), and to assist with 2 Character Model Sheets. (Kiavan/ John Sheppard and Spirit who both have human forms)

So I get an email a few days ago saying that my SOE account for Star Wars Galaxies has been reactivated 'cause of the 5 year anniversary for the game. So I think, "Cool, maybe now I can see what character was on what account." 'Cause I have a ton of em.

So I install the game, it does it's updates -and takes 20 minutes to do them, plus the install time, so that's like over a half hour- then I go to click the play button, and yaknow what happens?

Yup. It didn't even get to the loading screen before you build your character. So the whole computer crashes, good thing I wasn't working on anything important. *cough*TWissueonecover*cough*

Then it reboots, and I login to my account, and then it tells me "The system has just recovered from a serious error." Yes it has. w/e

I'll have to wait till I get a computer that can handle to awesomeness that is Star Wars Galaxies, 'cause it must be too cool for my current one. It's not much fun to play when you can't follow someone around that you know anyway. It gets creepy when newbies follow random people around. 0_o

*s =ShadowWolf2008* She was fun to mess with when I can a new character she didn't know about. Dun worry, girl. I'll be on with Eian about the same time you get back. mkay? mkay.

In other news...

I'm about half way don't with the TW Issue One cover. It'z shiny. It may be done my the middle of next week. Or sooner if I get more chances to work on it.

Ahem... *shifty eyes* Sorry. Anyway! Doctor Who season finally, Journey's End = EPIC WIN! There was one part near the end, I started laughing hysterically for like a full 30 seconds. And I was crying a few seconds before that, ergo, I was laughing and crying at the same time. It was a great episode all around.

Can ya' tell I'm trying really hard to not put in any spoilers for those U.S. folks who haven't seen it yet?

Anyone else do that at the end of today's ,tonight's for all you Brits , Doctor Who?

I did. RTD was right when he said there would be kids screaming out of the windows. I settled for screaming at my computer. Then getting close to tears from the emotional stress from having to wait till next Saturday, and from wondering if DT will still be playing the Doctor - or if we'll suddenly get someone new.

But still. The episode. was. EPIC. Yay!

So, I was wandering around BestBuy.com, mostly window shopping, and I saw this beauty.... okay not the best looking laptop out there, but for the price and performance - I think it's worth it. And if I really wanted to, I could paint it... or something. lol

But the looks of the thing is nothing compared to the lack of monies I seem to be having. So once again, I'm putting out a notice that I'm open for commissions.

Yes! I'm 18 and have no job. And I can't get one till next year (after I finish school), and it's very frustrating to be in my situation with no way of getting money except for the occasional 30 bucks for a fixing a single computer once every 3 to 6 months. And my mom's computer is driving me up the walls with it's extreme slowness - like it's going to die and day now. Therefore commissions is my only income ( haha, right -.- ) and I still havn't been paid for the last one I did.... but I'll let it go because of her RL reasons.
-end rant and sighs-

Sorry. I really had to get that off my chest. I feel better now.

Yesterday was playing... well yesterday - well, last night. It's a Beatles Tribute band, which is actually pretty good. There were only a few songs that I could sing along with - while my Sister-in-law sang along with quite a few - there was Yesterday (the song), and few others. It was freezing cold, but well worth it and the 3 bucks for parking, 6 six bucks for two sodas and 3.50 for a bag of popcorn - and I've got a dollar left over. xD

Hello all. Yes, I know. I havn't uploading anyth-- ah, but I have. Here--> ~clandestine-comic Go check out the account, I could really use some help for any willing. I already have 7 comic pages worth of script done - finny! Other than proofreading, that is.

YES! I'm still working on TW and Drift Waters... well Drift Waters not so much. I've set it aside till a later time. TW is at a stand still till I get new character sheets up. Alcoum's is done, but I'm not going to throw it up until I get Adria's up. ABC order. xP
