        <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ A lot of people have asked me since I started posting more inkwork what tools I use, and I am SUPREMELY happy to spread the word, but I feel like it needs to come with a disclaimer on USAGE for the tools I'm promoting, and all that doesn't quite fit in a comment box, so I decided to cobble together a little journal to link to when it comes up.<br /><br />There are people out there with feelings about paper.  Frankly, I don't care as much.  I care about the paper I PAINT on, but for inkwork, it's more about the brush for me.  For the record, I generally use bristol board, which is common for comics, but right now I'm using Fabriano series 4 drafting pap ]]></media:text>

        <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ The first matter of business: my Crane Wife comic.  This is still happening!  I feel bad for being super absent around lately but it's just cause I've been working so hard on this monster.  I am still not sure how I am going to present it- a website is in the works (in theory) and I definitely want to print it when I'm done, but I've also been getting a lot of "you should look for publishers!" which I don't know how into I am...         <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ I've been wondering a lot recently about the enigma of inspiration.  It's not a "here or not" situation, it's like, not enough?  Can't get anything done.  Too much?  No desire to continue life.  How do you cultivate that perfect balance needed to actually get stuff done?!  I've been experimenting.  As it turns out, the answer is NOT to look at what inspires me the most- (enter mignola rant below.)  I become inflamed and anything I manage to produce is the equivalent quality and relevance to the rantings of an insane person praising his holy light.  And then I can't get enough and can't stop viewing and obsessing over said inspiration.  Luckil ]]></media:text>

        <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ I had two really excellent teachers this semester, Fred Lynch and Shanth Enjeti, and they're both the kind of guys who just talk incessantly and you get about half of what they're saying but you suspect it's all brilliant.  They drop hilarious and insightful quotes at every second and have no idea.  It's sad to me that only people who have them as teachers will get to benefit from their crazy intellect so I put together a collection of some of their one-liners that I managed to write down.  I regret that I don't have more of Fred's, they're both comedians but Fred just has some of the best ideas I've ever heard and as a result I'm usually lis ]]></media:text>
