For all yee who live in the Philippines, NEXT WEEK is UP AME no Jidai (con details at the bottom of this entry), and I will be sharing a table there with

! My problem is that table fee is...freak expensive...and I'm not sure if my usual keychain/bookmark sales will be able to earn enough to pay for it--because seriously, I'm worried about breaking even. And at this point I don't even care about profit anymore. Help! ;A;

I usually do on-the-spot commissions with Copic markers in cons, and I'm hoping that opening this type of commissions a week early will help me pay for the table fee, and at the same time be able to put more time into the drawings. At the moment, I can't show any recent work with markers because I have nothinggg. ;A; This([link]) Persona 3 image from my gallery is almost nine months old, but I hope that it shows what I can do with the medium? : )

Commission price is 150PHP (or 4USD) per head. A5 size, chibis only, one character per sheet of paper.

If you live in the Philippines, you can drop by our table in UP AME next week and I'll give you the original for free. If you live overseas, it requires an additional 6USD and that includes insurance. Shipping fee is expensive and I apologize for it ""OTL I'll accept commissions until I hit the target amount, or until this weekend(Nov 28). :'D

I know that this is pretty late, but I have been pretty down recently (personal stuff, plus the effects of the recent typhoon). For those who don't know about it yet, the Philippines suffered from what is possibly the worst flood in the past 20 or so years. More details about it along with methods for donations can be found on *behindinfinity's journal, over here: The Philippines need your help!

Our house was affected on day one, but it's not as bad as other places like Cainta and Pasig. Flood water went inside our house, but we didn't lose anything and we're all fine. I'm glad to hear that most of the people I know are ok too (=hirayagi-ellery, nagaalala kami sayo! D: ), but we still haven't heard from my aunt who lives in Pasig. Please pray for her. : (

There is news that two new typhoons are coming (one already named as Pepeng), and it is supposed to be stronger than Ondoy. Heavy rain is expected to start around Friday. October 2.

I've been posting journal entries more + a ton of ranting over at my LiveJournal account, with a number of drawings/wips/random screenshots and convention reports. My LJ is friends-locked, but I add anyone as long as you tell me who you are, haha!

I've been drawing a lot more than usual recently...it's just sad that they're not stuff I can show people here. : ( Most are work and convention-related things, but there are ~some~ pictures of that on my LJ! I wish I can have time to draw more personal CGs. I really like how I've been drawing more than usual though. XD I'm starting to feel better about art in general, but I still whine at times. And I still fail at art. :<

Also, I am sick.
I hate the weather these days. It's always raaaaain when I wake up then heaaaaaat in the afternoon. *sniff sniff* Two more papers + one final exam then I'm off to work again! XD

First of all important things, I have a favor to ask. <3
For all ye people who know Persona 3, there's a 1/10 scale figure out there of Minato Arisato (Shujinko, the main character, or hero--whichever you prefer), and I'm currently in the state of desperation on trying to find it anywhere online (Dude, I went through over 100+ pages of google search. NOTHING.). It's all sold out on amazon, and ebay doesn't list it.

If any of you guys can try to help me find an online store with it, or know someone willing to part with it--please please please tell me. D: I will forever be in debt. My soul will be all yours. I never thought I'll have a lot more trouble with the ONLY art-related class in my course, compared to my majors. I'm sooo unlucky with profs. Some friends got the course with EXTREMELY NICE profs. All they had to do was WATCH VIDEOS and DRAW PATAPONS ('COS IT'S ART!) TO PASS. I had to do 5 800-word papers and 1 1000 word paper + watch productions and read a ~200pesos worth of xeroxed readings.

And a page is worth...40cents?

You guys know how much I suck at writing. My journals, including this one, is PROOF already! Writing those papers were TORTUREEEEEEE. (Hello, Word Count! Sorry for abusing you too much!)

EPICFAIL!Shuu struck again. xD
It's about the WEWY contest results. I was supposed to post something about this yesterday buuut...not anymore. I'm gonna be honest though and say that I was disappointed with the results--there were quite a large amount of more deserving stuff in that pile of 7000 entries. =/ I still can't stop thinking about it (I don't want to sound like a sore loser, but you really can't stop thinking and forget a feeling just like that, right? Someone even said that I don't have the right to feel disappointed because I was "popular" and winning this would be just an "extra" to what I already had. What?) For now I just want to thank each and every one of you guys who faved and/or commented on "WEWY Heroes: Heaven's Drive". I re-read those and it made me feel better yesterday. :] I want to do one more picture of the trio before I eventually forget about them (of course they WILL still be part of my beloved OCs), let's just see if time will allow me to do that.

I got my grades yesterday, and zomgzomgz I passed everything (INCLUDING THE OH SO EBIL CALCULUS)! Yeah, I know that's pretty pathetic for most of you but I am but an AVERAGE-IF-NOT-BELOW-AVERAGE student who's currently taking a specialization that is so STRESSFUL-IF-NOT-DEATH-THREATENING.

I'm sorry for the lack of updates--I'm still dying because of work work work and school school school (I'm managing, though~ Life's been super tough for the past few weeks), but here's the new CSS layout I promised! xP I haven't added the links at the top yet, they'll be there soon~ Lots of thankyouuus to ~erdexs again, for the helpful suggestions while I was doing the design and for helping me fix the footer CSS. :3

I've been trying out different drawing styles lately, and this really lame painting job is one of them. I want to draw stuff that are supposed to have little to no relation to anime--only because I'm scared since a lot of people draw anime so well, and I fear incompetence too much. :[ I've also been thinking about the real meaning/description of a graphic designer/artist--what it takes to be called one and all. I know I'm nowhere near as talented as real designers and illustrators, the fact that I'm studying a completely different field (IT) makes up for it a bit (lololol excuses xD)...but recently I've been seeing too many people online calling/referring to themselves as "graphic designers/artists", when all they do is take someone else's art (hey dA--we're not an art STOCK community now, right? o_O) and photoshop bits here and there, add text and brushes and textures and WAH-LAH, "ART" created by an "ARTIST". o_o'

What do you guys think?
...maybe I'm thinking too much about useless stuff again. D:

I'll post new works around mid-April, when this term ends. Lots of contests entries, game art coming~ :]

Also...a few days ago I received an email from The One Million Masterpiece saying that the drawing I made there a year ago made it to their 2008 calendar, as one of the drawings for the month of May.

I saw it around ~4am while doing one of my projects, I was so sleeeeepy that time but after I read the email I was back to hyper-mode again. xD I didn't think that a drawing as crappy as what I did would be chosen for something as big as that (plus...I made it early 2006, I believe?), and my parents were so proud of me after I told them about it. I never felt so loved by them before, lol. I think they're really starting to understand how important drawing is to me, even if what I do is mostly anime. :'D

I won second place. :3

I was overwhelmed by all the people who went to see the entries at National Art Competition gallery, and...to you guys who's probably reading this now because you followed my DA address on the picture *shameless plug, lol* might remember me as the girl in black~ I was standing beside my entry at the gallery for a while, and I already felt like I won because of all the nice comments people say on it. Just the sight of people stopping for a while to staaaare at my entry already made me very, very happy. Luff~

One thing that still irks me though is the fact that the person who re-typed my essay literally BUTCHERED it with typos and wrong capitalizations. Of all the entries' re-typed essays, mine was the WORST. I took a picture of it and yea, I will complain at the LU!Office when I claim the prize. Dammit, they should've just asked for the .doc file to prevent this from happening. >__>'

LU!LIVE07's main events were ok, but I still think that Ragnafest back in 2005 was better. The World Trade Center wasn't even as full of stalls/booths as before (lots of empty, open spaces = baaad). Oh well, at least there were a lot more freebies this year. XD

I'll be at school from 8am-6pm on my birthday (Sad, I know. xD) so I celebrated a while ago, and I can really say that this year is my best birthday ever. :3 Even though the first half was a disaster because the restaurant I was supposed to reserve CLOSED, my mom and I found this really nice (expensive D:) Japanese place hidden along the fire exit.

After thaaat we had my birthday cake made especially by ~forron: Chocolate cake with leche flan/custard. <3 And theeen we rushed to the movies to see Resident Evil: Extinction. It was pretty good, imo, but I think that's just because I don't really see much movies. XDD

Hello! I'm not dead! XD

I never got the chance to get a CD installer for both Lineage II and Granado Espada, and I can't download the games because they're HUUUGE and it'd kill my very, very slow DSL. D:

And because I'm very, very deperate to get a new game (yes, I'm an addict like that xP), I went back to playing RF Online with ~erdexs and his 1337 sk1llz0rz character. It's just too bad my laptop sucks at playing games like RF. Loading the game took about 5~10 mins, and it's testing my patience. Must...get....super awesome desktop one day. XDD I'll post screenshots when my character becomes a bit more....presentable. lol. *noob*

And oh yeah. I only had the CD for RFph's open beta (LOL OLD), so I had to download 2,032 patches. TWO THOUSAND THIRTY-TWO PATCHES FTW. And that doesn't include the recently launched Episode 2: Pioneers of Novus patch which was 1.95GB. It took 9 hours. XDD

After playing a bit (I gave up on RF because of the lag. THE LAAAAAAG DD: ), I downloaded the North American version of Audition: Dance Battle, AND OH MY GOD THEY HAVE HILARY DUFF. XDD I was unfamiliar with...90% of their songs, even if I've been around AuditionPH and AuditionSEA before. XD Much thanks to =minjii for playing with me for a bit. <3 MINJII IS COOL! 8DD!

The servers closed yesterday, and this is the only screenie I have of my character. >< She's still lv30 here, but was lv50 when I stopped playing. I'm not sure if I'll miss the game, since I only played it for a while because I needed a "new game" when Monato Esprit's open beta closed. o_o

That's Zaihou, a soon-to-be-revived-character-name on Lineage II PH server. Yes, Lineage II. That game that's worse than getting addicted to weed. XD I think I'm gonna try it even if it's ooold, but nya. It's a bit like good 'ol RF Online, and imho it looks a lot better than...*coughWoWcough*.

Lineage II won my what-to-play-during-sembreak thingy against Perfect World and Granado Espada. But I might play GE, too. *le sigh* So many MMOs, so little free time. XD

1. I...don't have a style. Some people say they see it, but I don't. o_oa

2. I have a baaad habit of making old people look young, and young people look YOUNGER when I draw. XD

3. I learned to draw by doodling with a pen instead of a pencil, because pencils tend to force me to draw over the lines again and again and again because I feel that my hand's weight changes a lot. x.x

4. I got used to coloring in a mix of cell and soft shading, but I love the results of digital paintings better. Too bad I suck at painting. ;__;

5. I started drawing since I was old enough to hold a pencil, but never got serious until I was 15.

5. I can't draw profile views right. ;__; *learning*

6. I always think of the final output in my head frist before I start drawing, but 90% of the time it changes in the middle of sketching. XD

7. I get inspiration to draw from random stuff---like Cheese. xP

8. I'm a neat-freak when it comes to my CGs (A PIXEL MAKES A DIFFERENCE. O_O), but I draw very, veeeeery messy sketches and I'm usually the only person who understands them. XD

9. I like using both digital and traditional media. <3

10. Realism = my worse nightmare. I can never draw realism, no matter what I do. >__<

So I lost Endzone Round 2, which was...part of a sure-lose thing for me. I was pretty disappointed when I found out, but...I guess it's about time I learn to accept things without...reacting too much. >< Eisen may have not portrayed Ruenis' real personality well in his entry (fangirling? no way. =/), but what can I do? The judges liked his entry better, so be it. But I know I did well, it's definitely better than what I expected I could do, my number of watchers doubled (thanks, guys :]), and I learned a lot of things in this tournament. It was a good experience while it lasted, and eing part of the top 32 out of 610 initial entries is...already too good for me. I'm not sure if I can join another one soon, but if I find free time then...why not? xD Right now I'm enjoying my "no-more-endzone-deadlines" stress and "drawing-more-for-myself" time (if you count off the "machine project" and "studying for finals" time. LOL XD).

Thanks so much for all the comments and hugs from my last journal entry! I'm feeling a lot better now.

Recently I've been roaming around the net, mostly on DA and YouTube, looking for funny pictures and videos. Why do people tend to misinterprent EVERYTHING I say?

Why don't I ever get the right to SPEAK when I have something to say?

Why does everyone BLAME and YELL at me when I did NOTHING wrong?

WHY.

I'm...pissed. I really don't know what I should do everytime I get blamed for things. Last month my video camera screwed up because I used a non-Sony dvd to record (It was what ~forron bought, but we never knew my camera couldn't use them properly), and when I tried to extract the records, Sony's copyright blocked it. ~forron brought it to a photo store and told him that he should bring it to Sony so THEY could fix and extract the files for us. When I told my parents about it, they said we'll have it fixed and they did so a while ago, BUT they went without me.

...and what did I get when they got home? Sermons. Lots of it.

Apparently Sony couldn't do jack shit about it, and the camera ended up DELETING everything (reasons and process of which I have NO idea about). So now they blame ME? Yea, sure, it WAS my fault for using a non-Sony dvd but HEY. IF I KNEW IT WOULDN'T WORK WHY THE HELL WOULD I USE IT!? Why would I INTENTIONALLY put myself into all of this now? WHY.

My mother barely even gave me the time to explain that I didn't know, even if I already explained it to them when I said that we should bring it to Sony. But they just don't remember, as usual. When I -tried- to say "Hindi ko naman alam na---" ("I didn't know that---") she gets bitchy right at that second and goes "You don't have the RIGHT to speak because all of this is your fault because you think you KNOW everything but in reality you don't know ANYTHING". I'm a computer student, yes. But that doesn't mean I KNOW everything and I can fix ANYTHING tech-related.

...now she's going "let's just pretend we wasted money and never went to Boracay, since we have no pictures to prove that we've been there anyway".

Fuck it all.

I really don't like feeling this way....but still. I can't help it. It's always my mother's words that make me be like this, and I even felt like crying. Why...can't she just understand.

I cought a flu (one doctor said it's bronchitis while another said it's pneumonia o_O) last wednesday so I've been lying in bed for the past 5 days. Not fun, I tell ya. Next time I will never -ever- trade my yearly anti-flu vaccine date for a not-so-due Hepatitis A vaccine. -__-;
