Rock Band: The Beatles

I bought this Wednesday in my break at work, and can i just say mmmmmmmmmmmmmm......

Firstly, i know alot of people don't like this kind of game, don't see the point, don't i fun etc etc.... But this game is a breath of fresh air to my gaming collection. I love the music of the Beatles but didn't know how the game would play.

The game plays excellently, incredibly fun alone, but even more so if there is a group of you with so many people being able to sing along through mics. The setlist is fantastic, but what else would you expect from such an iconic band.

From a DA perspective if anyone has seen or played the game you will have probably seen the videos, and the background animations when playing the game. Anyone else think its the best game design they have ever seen? Title video came on and me and my friends sat in awe watching it, 'worth Â£40 for the videos alone' i said!

Well enough of this, hope everyone is well and doing well. Am going to lie down as just got in from work! Oh, and i have played GH5 today as it only just came out here. Its pretty good, will probably get it this time next week, maybe....

Raising Awareness: Anxiety Disorder - Please Read

Mental Illness & Raising Awareness - Please Re

Firstly hi to all my watchers and thank you for taking the time to read this journal. Have been inactive for a while, but as of late i have become more focused on raising awareness on mental illness - specifically Anxiety which i have suffered with personally.

So first let me link you to this group here:

The group is there to raise awareness about all mental disorders, and i would love for it to become noticed and discussed as i feel DA has a unique quality that can raise extra awareness about these issues.

I have written a news article about Anxiety, raising awareness on it, stating some home truths and personnal stories, and giving information to try and help those suffering with it. I have not been able to subscribe again as yet, and i have been trying to get a way of posting it up in the news section - but at the minute no luck yet. So, if you read this and can think of any advice or ways i could get it posted that would be fantastic.

I am hoping to have this posted soon, and any help publicising it, or featuring it would be greatly appreciated.

Congrats DA for standing the test of time and becoming 8 today. Have grown to get used to the new skin (now that the search bar is sorted.)

However am i the only one not happy with Daily Deviations? I miss it on the front page, and am sure pieces getting DDs are not getting as much publicity as they should be. Granted i like the feature at the bottom of the page with them in, but i also think they should still be on the front page somewhere. Without DDs i would be stuck with barely any watchers etc so i really appreciatw how helpful an award a DD is.

New Camera

Firstly i would like to say sorry for the delay between journals. Been busy with University stuff and finally got round to buying a new camera and posting up some stuff. Now am not rich but this thing was a bargain for what i got with it, yes its a Kodak which aren't my favouriutes, and it eats through batteries like no tomorow (need a charger for it) but the pics look ok and with some practice with it am sure they will improve further!

Linkin Park & Biffy Clyro

Probably the most hyped band on planet. An audience so diverse it was crazy, metalheads behind me, footballers wives in front, most diverse crowd i have ever been in. But after tonight anyone there knows its not just hype.

We got there just as Biffy Clyro began their set. I really enjoyed their latest album, but their set was slightly disapointing for me. Apart from 2-3 really well performed songs the rest seemed muddled, and the crowd really wern't being warmed up at all, rather going to get a beer before Linkin Park came on. A great band, but without the crowd behind them Biffy Clyro seemed like they were just passing time, waiting for Linkin Park to push them off the stage.

Without Julien-K supporting it was only one support band, slightly disapointing, but the worst thing was to come. Biffy Clyro went off, what followed was at least a good 45 minutes wait as everyone waited for thje stage to be rebuilt for Linkin Park to come out. Yes eventually when the curtain fell it looked amazing, but with no warnings on how long it would be everyone just waited, and waited, only having some god awful music to keep them amused.

Eventually the real show began. Nice intro, curtain fell, and they churned out What I've Done perfectly, a really great opening song. The vocals from Chester were intense, and the audio was spot on, making sure all vocals were clear and could easily be heard over the rest of the band. Faint, Crawling, and a few songs from Minutes to Midnight soon followed, even a comical version...

Dream Theater & Symphony X

Saturday 10th November

Hour and a half travel upto Wolverhampton to the Civic Centre later i am standing in the middle of a good few thousand people as the lights go out. Crowd goes crazy, and the epic intro kicks in. Two minutes later the epic intro is still going, and then BAM, Symphony X roll out, take numbers and kick some ass. Awesome riffs, immense sound and sweet vocals. Unfortunately they are only on for 40 minutes, which is a shame because they deserved longer than that, only fitting in 7 songs. *insert sad face here*

So, applause, an awesome little encore and Symphony X are gone. Now to wait. 20 minutes pass as the stage is prepared. Then, BAM (yes BAM again)..... ANOTHER awesome intro, except better with big screen and drum set the size of a caravan. They opened with Constant Motion, and it just got better from there, playing most of Systematic Chaos, three songs off of Scenes From A Memory (incidently my favourite DT album), various other songs including a Pink Floyd cover and a Marillion cover (i was reliably informed it was Marillion after the gig). My highlights were Dark Eternal Night, which was played nearly perfectly, Endless Sacrifice, In The Name Of God which was really immense, and Prophets Of War.

However my favourite part was the inclusion of 3 songs from Scenes From A Memory. The 3 chosen pretty much summed up the entire album. Strange Deja Vu to begin, then Through Her Eyes, and then finally my highlight..... The Spirit Carries On. One way to describe it. Bonechilling. Gave me goosebumps standing there watching its marvel, absolutely fantastic.

All in all i enjoyed it thoroughly. I suffered a bit as am...

Now, i haven't posted a journal in a few days, was shellshocked. Coventry lost midweek to a lucky last minute winner for West Ham. That about sums up this week. Won 3-1 today though so i guess that begins to make up for it.

However on a better note have done some drawing today, inproved a few pieces on Deviant, and also thought about a few weird pieces i could do (mainly photography but one idea includes text, or drawing, or whatever).... More on that to follow.....

Looking for work to ink. Note too all artists who love to draw, am always looking for art to ink, i need the practice and would really love a detailed piece i could spend an eternity to ink.

I have been on DA for a long long time now, but past few months things have really picked up, started to actually submit work consistently etc. Now have hit 1000 views and want to thank everyone who is watching me etc! I hope that certain pieces i have done get a bit more popular, and that i can come up with some awesome pieces!!!

Also in this journal update i am gonna start work on a new CSS journal code. Firstly thank you too all of you who have been viewing my gallery recently. I haven't been posting up alot of stuff at all because of University work, but i have been working on a few ideas. Right now am still under a thousand views and not watched by many people. However i hope my next piece which i will unveil by the end of the week will be a big hit because it really comes from the heart.

Anywho update: University is really good, some personal stuff though is putting a dampner on it though which is a shame but hopefully i can get through it ok. In other news i should have tickets for Coventry v West Ham in the cup, and also Coventry verses league leaders Watford which is a week today. I haven't been too a football match in nearly two years because of issues so i hope this is a stepping stone to me feeling better. Also i regretably never got the Wacom tablet to work with Vista (it worked for a total of 5 minutes and was awesome, then crashed and never worked again) so am hoping Amazon will still agrree to the return. Without the Wacom work is taking slightly longer than i had hoped but am gettting there slowly. More updates coming soon

My Busiest Deviant Month

Firstly i want to say a big thanks for all those people who have been viewing my profile the past month of September. September already have had over 200 page views, which is more than the entire of 2007 before that. I have decided to start posting up more stuff instead of keeping it too myself, maybe some brush sets if i have the patience, maybe a font or two, maybe some more abstract backgrounds, and deffinately some more cartoony things!

When i started on Deviant i was fairly active for a month then disapeared. I came back at the start of September this year and have been pleased, obviously would love some more faves but who doesn;t

Some news: Have enrollment this Saturday at Northampton University for my Economics / Law degree, and more in on the Sunday! Both looking forward too it and slightly anxious, but should be good fun! Also, had to return my tablet a few weeks back because its Vista drivers wern't working. Have ordered a cheap small tablet, A6 size so very small but as am not doing a design degree i couldnt totally justify buying an awesome one. Should see some more personalised drawings on here soon though i hope.

Photoshop & My Drawings

Well after much thinking i have decided to start drawing work specifically to paint in photoshop. I have never done this before, and am still have issues with lower quality edges of lines but i hope i can find out from somewhere how to make my lines nice and smooth.

I have alot of ideas for pictures and hope to churn a few out before i leave for university in 2 weeks. I have also been designing tracks for Trackmania, they arent really amazing tracks, they just look nice

Apart from that life has been quiet, have Driving Theory test tomorow which i am not looking forward too. Apart from that life should be quiet for a good week and a half!

Well my tablet came today, drivers wouldnt work on Vista correctly so have had to send it back. Its a shame because it looked pretty cool, i shall galantly fight on with my razer laser mouse instead

In other news the family house is empty this weekend so much beer and photoshop, with football included and some work i guess on Sunday! Best get used to emptiness i guess for Uni Apart from being severely disapointed about the tablet not much else has happened today, worked on a journal for the beautiful girlfriend, thats about it!

Day 2 of the Journal! Am hoping tomorow to get my new Tablet for my pc, means i can do alot more drawing, and hopefully do some more graphics design work much much faster. Its not the most expensive tablet out there but am sure it will do the job.

I also purchased a printer/scanner thing today, looks good and seems to work with Vista so cant complain. May scan some photos, or pictures or something with it, will have to see what inspiration i have over the next few weeks.
