Oh, saw all the information for the new World of Warcraft expansion: Cataclysm.

Very excited for the new Alliance race. The Worgen :D
Happy especially because I was always on the side of the people arguing that Gilneas would make perfect lore sense. I just jazzed that blizz thought so too lol.

Scared about the changed that Death Wing is going to make to the world though. I've played for 4 years and have gotten very used to the way things look and work. It's going to be jarring.

Went back to the Doctor yesterday for my X-ray results. So, your spine is held together by bits of bone attached to each vertebrae that lock together and keep each one in place. What's happened is that my L-5 vertebrae has a malformed locky thing (I know, I'm so scientific) so that vertebrae can move interdependently of my spine. Right now it is jutting forward, which is causing the pain. So, I've been given an order for a CT scan now. Just waiting for the call from the hospital giving me my appointment time. Should be about 2 weeks to a month from then.

The good news is that at least the medication has helped, I can sit up for longer periods of time and even walk around outside of the house. :)

Speaking of walking around, after the appointment my Dad asked if it would be okay if we stopped at the Mall because he wanted to get a new phone and wanted my help choosing one (The last time the guy sort of just sold him what he wanted to) His old phone was all broken and ghetto and would turn itself off and lose it's charge in a couple of hours. So we went to a Rogers Wireless store and HMMMed and HAWWed for a while loocking at different phones and what-not. Originally, he wanted a Blackberry but after looking at them we decided that the buttons were too small for him to see/push down. And man, they really are small, I must have fat fingers or something because not even I would get one for the same reason.

We loaf around some more and look at other non-Blackberry type things and my Dad is starting to get frustrated. And he's like "Okay. What would you get if you were in here?" And I of course walk him over to the iPhone display. And we play with it for a while and suddenly he's like. "Okay. This is the one" He was really really impressed by it and after a few "Seriously?" moments we all smiled (Jess was there too) and looked over the counted at the THREE people behind it so we could trade in his old phone for a new 3GiPone :) ....Except that they continued their conversation...So I sat on one of the stools at the counter. The three of us waited...and waited...and no one even looked at us. So we got mad. I was like "You just lost a sale guys. A guaranteed sale." And they didn't even look then. That made my Dad mad and he yelled at them a little more before we walked out XD

So we went to another Rogers Wireless (There are three in that Mall) and got him his phone. I gifted him a nice case for it that can clip to his belt, cause he likes having his phone there. He's still so jazzed about it :)

I'm so jealous >.>


We went ans saw my Aunt and bought her a Orchid plant, she LOVES plants. And I also saw something I hadnt seen since I was little. A Mimosa Pudica [link] It's a plant that folds its leaves when you touch it. I was so happy to see it and bought one for myself for a few bucks.

We brought it home and loved on it and named it Meimei (Little sister in Chinese. Also a throwback to Firefly, because we are dorks) And I had it on my desk, went to lay for a moment to stretch my back, and I hear something hit the floor. My cat jumped down off the desk. She had EATEN most of the plant. I am so angry with her.She got to sleep in her carrier last night. All that is left is a little stump and two tiny leaves. I hope it can grow back, I really loved that plant :/ I cried about it XD

Went to the doctor with my dad and Jess and he had me do some tests to determine range of motion. He asked me to bend down and touch my toes, I go about two inches bent over before the pain made me cry and the Doctor told me to stop.

So, he ended up giving me Celebrex (Anti-inflamatory, thanks Rose <3 I was a little confused lol)
Tramadol (pain killer) and another one that I dont remember the name of, but it's a muscle relaxer.

Took everything last night and while it helps with the constant throbbing when I'm still I continue to have really really bad pain when I move or sit, or turn over in bed. Also, went for xrays. Thinking of asking for days off work until at least then.

Well, gonna go lay back down. Thanks to everyone who commented. It made me feel a little better :)

Holy merciful crap, it has been a horrible horrible few days.

First, a little history. When I was 14-15 years old I leased a horse (that I never got to ride, but that's another story) The place where I had him boarded had four other horses at it. My horse, Spot, really really loved this Palamino Quarter Horse named Sierra. She HATED him.

Anyway, a not so responsible adult (my friends mom who also had horses there)told me that if we wanted to ride we had to catch our own horses. This was fine as I had caught them in the past with no problems. Well, long story short, I was in front of Spot he pushed me towards Sierra. She reacted by trying to kick him. She ended up hitting me square in the lower-back.

I went to the hospital but suffered only a slightly turned vertebrae.

ANYWAY. From time to time since then my back kind of hurts but goes away in a day or two. About a week ago this started happening and I ignored it, thinking it would go away. No so much luck with that. The past two days have been horrific. I can't sit, stand or lay down for any extended amount of time. Advil/Tylenol, heat/cold do almost nothing to stop the pain. I can't walk and standing from a laying position is hellish.

I'm worried that I'll need surgery. I know how rare it is to need back surgery but I am a bit of a worry wart in general and the idea is scary to me.

My Dad is going to drive me to the doctor today and we'll see what they say. I just hope that they can give me something stronger, it's getting worse and worse and even sitting here typing this is almost unbearable.

Blah. Sorry to, like, complain at you guys but this is too much suck for just one person. lol.

It's times like these that I wish it were possible to have detachable parts. Just set them on the shelf until they stop hurting XD

Heya folks, update time, it's update time!

Um, so yeah, I got a new computer, very nice, very sleek looking (mainly because my old computer could no longer handle WOW XDXD) It has a bright orange Ferrari case from Inwin, the on button says "Start Engine" XD

Anyway, since I guess I spent so much on the PC I got free stuff from the place that built it for me, shift mouse pad and free oldish game. We found a copy of Syberia 2 which is funny because I own the first one and never played the second. It was destiny, man!

I ended up installing the first one to play through to remember what the hell was going on since the second game starts literally where the last one left off. Good little puzzle adventure game :)

I think I am finally out of things to tell you about..XD

Been playing Lich King for three days now* and I've got to say that depsite all the wank about Death Knights I really really like them. Superpowered? Yes. a little bit. But it makes sense them being a hero class and all, and at least there is only one allowed per account per server so I don't forsee it being horrible. The only problem now is WHO DO I LEVEL!?!?

My main, Vally who is a 70. My DK Raingaren who is a 60 or my little priest Ecliptis at 48? I am tempted to lvl the Priest just because with the sudden influx of DKs there are no people playing healing classes, which makes getting into groups even easier than before.

But enough of my Warcraft geekery!

We were in Sears looking for a lamp (Which took much longer than you would expect) and there was a song about Christmas playing and how now was the time to partake in Christmas time activities (I don't remember the song) and I exclaim "NO IT ISNT ITS NOVEMBER!" And just as I say this a couple is walking past us in the other direction and the girl of that couple is like "YES!!" And it was the most amazing moment ever. Absolutely hysterical. XD

But yeah anyway, not a lot else to report.

The Deathknight class, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised when I made a character. You start in a new area just behind the Scarlet Crusade's Tyr's hand. The quests so far have been -very- imaginative and fun to do with decent rewards and an interesting set of abilities for the DK trees.

Another thing that I thought was neat is that they added bits and pieces (like the area behind Tyr's Hand) to pre-existing areas, they look consistent and not slapped on, which was very nice.

So far I am pleased with the expansion :)
Haven't run across any earth-shaking bugs, mostly little graphics things that didn't affect game play.

:D

Oh, and go get a commission from :icondragoness77: She is a quality artist with reasonable prices and she is a sweet-heart to boot. :)

Anyway, we are in the frozen food isle so Jess can pick up some lunch stuff for work and there is one of those cheapo inflatable balls there so I start kicking it around like some sort of millionaire soccer star (Give me a break, I'm a weirdo) and I end up ahead of Jess, I kick it to her and she missed it since I have made her carry the hevy basket while I goof off. There is this super-tall-weirdo guy behind her and he looks as me and smiles...really strangly. I mean, notmally that wouldn't be wierd since people tend to smile when you make eye contact with them. He has this...um well...handicapped look about him and I just s,mile back and turn away to follow Jess down the isle in the other direction.

I forget about him as we fill our basket and go to the check out line. I leave Jess waiting in line to go take some money out of the cash machine (To take a cab home since the things we bought were a little heavy to carry home on the bus/skytrain) I got all the way to the machine before realizing that I already have money in my wallet and go back to Jess.

When I get there that guy is in line behind her, and I see him poke her in the back of the shoulder to get her attention and (although I am not close enough to hear him) he says "hello" to her. She looks really uncomfortable and mouths "Hello" back. I get there and he says hello to me too. So we are waiting for our turn at the register and he pokes Jess again, and I hear "This is for you friend" repeated a few times and Jess hands me a carnation.

I know what your thinking. "Nina, what is wrong with you?That is sweet, stop being a bitch" But I swear to you it was creepy as hell. I made no further eye contact with him and held the flower awkwardly trying to find a place to get rid of it. (You are creepy and I am not paying for this flower that you got from the gift area place) He continues talking to me as if I am looking at him or even facing him/responding. And he touches my back like twice more.

DO NOT TOUCH STRANGERS. HOLY FUCK.

We put the flower down int he stack of baskets and put ours on top of it hoping to get rid of it. HE DIGS IT OUT and uncrumples the paper its wrapped in and stands there with it.

I tell you, that was the fastest I think I have ever bagged groceries in my life. We very nearly ran out of the mall and kept looking back to see if he was behind us.

I'm not even sure I can accurately describe how creepy he was and how anxious he made me.

Jess totally couldn't hold off until midnight and gave me my gift a little early.

SHE GOT ME A FREAKING INTUOS(Wicked-cool tablet). I totally love her right now!! I am happy beyond words at the moment, srsly. It is super sensitive so I have to pick the pen wwwaaaayyyyy up to move the cursor, but I'm sure I'll get used to it, the pen is also extra long which is wacky but again, something that I will learn to work with. It's so neat!!!

I bought myself some stuff too:

GTA IV (And a couple of other games that looked interesting by their covers XD)
A stuffed donkey
Tickets to Cirque Du Soleil which is coming to Vancouver in the Summer. Third row seats :D)

Nothing to report, really.

Doing pretty okay on the money front. Got my tax return back, it was like 700+ dollars which is really a nice boost. I know I should save it, but I also want to spend it on a whole pile of stupid crap that I don't need. XD

Work is super tedious but fine, it's not as bad as some jobs I've had (Boat detailer in winter. Not fun.) but it's just a little grating sometimes. We get a lot of entitlement bitches that seem to think they can talk to us however they like because we are there to SERVE THEM. Thank god it's email support or I would have probably cursed someone out by now.

(PSSST the Better business bureau is not the FBI, they do not care that you think our games are fixed (they really aren't) and will read your letter, laugh at you, then toss it in the bin)

Commissions are currently opened if anyone is interested, just mail/msn/DA note me if ya like. (Have a couple left to do so there might be a wait)

I wish I had 25,000 dollars to spare. Seriously. My dad's Jeep has finally given out (1993 YJ) and he is 60 years old, taking the bus in Surrey (Not a nice part of town) in the cold. I just want to buy him a nice new hard-top Wrangler. I know he would like that since the last one was soft-top and the canvas ended up rotting out.

He is one of those people that seriously deserve a break in life.

But anyway, enough of feeling sad!

Jess and I may go today to get our earing out (got my ears pierced a few months ago) but I am feeling kind of lazy so that might not happen.

OH holy merciful CRAP!!!!


I FINALLY FINALLY got my computer fixed and now may tablet will not stay pressure sensitive for more than 5minutes. My keyboard is also having some weird problem. I get the hardware has been disconnected noise and my keyboard goes dark (All of the keys glow blue) then the hardware found sound and it turns back on. Unfortunately, this seems to happen more often why I am playing WOW, which causes me to suddenly go into auto-run or just stand there stupidly while the lvl 34 I was running through an instance gets totally mob raped.

Suckier still, I need my tablet to work on my entry into the WOW art exchange. It's due on the 20th and all I need to do it colour it and I'm mostly done. I wanted my first entry to be nice, also I would like to be able to freaking draw...

Such a headache...

So!

Oh man, work today is a total Lulzcow. I am sitting here doing emails like usual and it's starting to get a bit ridiculous. When the body of an email contains nothing but "HOW DO I PLAY THIS WAT BUTTONS DO I PUSH" (Srsly a direct quote from the one I am looking at) it gives me a strange mixture of internal bubbly laughter and the, nearly uncontrollable, desire to kill.

I know you need help.
I know you are probably legitimately confused.
But seriously, how am I supposed to explain, even if I wanted to, every single facet of the game software and the mechanics of poker to you? I may make a reasonable amount over minimum wage but it is not enough to have me sit here and do that for you.

Learn on your own damn time.

I am so seriously sick of chat complaints. Srsly.
Some are like "He called me stupid I want his chat removed permanently!!!!!" and then they are OUTRAGED when we do absolutely nothing and proceed to harass our inbox.

Then there are the ones that just do stupidly inappropriate things, like go off the handle and curse people out/sexually harass/make horrible racial slurs. Most of these people are twice my age, why the hell do they need so much policing?!?

But anyway, on the way here to work I was waiting for the bus (It's cold and raining/snowing) and this cab pulls up and lets this guy with a cane out. The guy is like, barely able to move and has a giant black eye and two somewhat healed cuts on his eyebrow. The cab driver just like, watches him struggle out of the car (Like a full 30 seconds for this guy to stand up and step out onto the curb) He doesn't even say anything...So I took out my headphones and pulled down my hood and helped the guy to the Money Mart he was trying desperately try to get to. He is so thankful that someone came to help him, he grabs onto me (He was having a really hard time walking so I didn't care that he was heavy)

I mean, some freaking people.MAN. Turns out the poor guy has Parkinson's Disease. His brother ran up (He must live close or something) and thanked me, like, four times. Got ont he bus and went to work.

Well, that's story time with Nina. :P




EDIT: On a different note entirely, I got my Dad a new computer for Christmas and he got my a Mini fridge which is awesome :) Telus messed with our internet so that neither of us could connect but all is well now. La!

I have this crazy urge to do a commission for someone but haven't gotten any requests for a while A) Because I like drawing things that are created by other people, I think it's neat :) and B) I like money. :P

Maybe it's pick up after Christmas is over and people are done squirreling their extra cash away where I can't reach it. Nina is only this tall <-----------------------> after all. :(

My Dad might need spinal surgery some time soon. He has opted not to do it for now since after talking to the Neurosurgeon there is a high chance that something will go wrong. (20-30% chance that his heart will fail and he will die on the table, 10-12% chance that he will loose the use of his legs, and 1-2% chance that he will be incontinent afterwards) Considering the condition his heart is in he doesn't want to take the risk, his bypass a few years earlier was scary enough, and that was a life or death situation. But, I guess I'm going to try and stay positive on this and hope his back gets better.

Okay, so I totally failed on the December challenge thing. I am totally not the type of artist that can draw one thing that I am happy with a day. I'm like, seven days behind XD I think I will plunder and old hilarious art book for things to post, since the actually nice pictures I am working on are taking a classically long time to finish, also I am lazy.

I also need a new dev ID and to update my age on my information...I should get to work on that...Still haven't done Christmas shopping, I am going to get trampled at the mall. D8

Before I rant, did someone buy me a subscription?? I thought my sub was going to run out a lot sooner that next November. hmmmmm.

Please do not read this journal if you have not A) Seen the Golden Compass Movie and B) Read The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spy Glass.

It Sucked ASS. I mean, wow. I went into the movie excited, but left it VERY disappointed and, despite the fact that I just finished reading the books, VERY confused. I mean, I understand that things need to be changed/cut to make the transition from book to film but COME ON. Not only were important things left out but details were altered so drastically that the movie is just a rapid synopsis that jumps around so randomly that you have no idea what the hell is going on.

Things that seriously bothered me:

1.) The movie ends before the final VERY IMPORTANT events of the first book.

2.) Roger is alive.

3.) Pretty much every single major event was presented TOTALLY out of order.

4.) The witches are not sitting on cloud pine when they fly. And the first pretty important conversation with Kaisa doesn't happen, he's not even in the movie.

5.) They never meet the Witch Consul and the test used to see if Lyra is THAT child is totally wrong.

4.) The kid who Lyra finds in the fish house who has had his Daemon cut away was Billy Costa in the movie? WHAT? That was some OTHER KID. They used Billy, but for some reason used the other kids Daemon (Ratter) which is totaly puzzling.

5.) People were totally casual about Billy not having a Daemon, when the book takes great pains to explain how HORRIFYING it is to them because no one EVER has not had one at their side.

6.) Intercision was supposed to have been done with something very much like The Subtle knife, but instead it's done with electricity?

7.) Iorek Byrnison was not exiled for losing in single combat against the current bear king. He killed another bear which is not allowed.

8.) The question the current bear king asks Lyra in the movie is "How did I become king" but in the book he asks her what was the first thing he ever killed. The answer is his father.

9.) Some random guy from the majestirium trys to poison Asriel, when it is supposed to be the head master.

10.) when Lyra makes her escape from Mrs.Coulter it is supposed to be during a big party where she meets Lord Boreal.

11.) They do not once mention what exactly happened between Azriel and Marisa (The adultery/murder bit)

12.) Marisa goes on and on about how she wanted to keep Lyra but wasn't allowed, but she didn't want the kid because it reminded her of the sin she had committed and so she gave tossed her to her father who in turn threw her to the scholars to raise.

13.) Lyra is at Bolvengar for like two seconds, she goes there of her own accord and the part with the ice bridge happens there for some reason. The part with the fire alarm never happens. Her Roger and Billy never see the cut away Daemons and it is never explained that Adults at Bolvengar had their cut away when they were young and survived.

14.) The "photo" Azriel showed was a) in colour, even though he apologizes that he didn't have the time to get it tinted, in the book. b) animated for some reason?
c) shows dust going through the Daemon. and d) has no child in it. He also does not show them Grumman's head to convince them to fund the research. No mention of Tartars at all. This will make the next movies difficult since Grumman is sort of important.

There are SO many other things I cannot even begin to remember. I just cannot believe how bad it was. The effects were nice, but it can't stand on looks alone. *lavabeast went with me (She hasnt read the books yet) and was at a total loss as to what was happening because of how jumpy and stupid it was.


I wish I could have liked it :/

So, as some of you may or may not know I play on Subeta (A petsite) and about a week ago I got promoted to being a U.A! (User Administrator) I used to be a Minimod (forum moderator) for the Imagination Station. Beign a U.A is so much fun so far! (Even though the Admin Panel still makes me way nervous to touch) Everyone I've spoken to on staff has been super nice and accomodating of my silly newb questions XD


Work has been pretty okay lately. They cut a bunch of shifts (none of them mine) so now I do evening shift all by myself. It's so quiet here now.

Um...Not a lot else. Working on like 3-4 pictures right now, two ar rp characters that were half drawn when the RPs were still running way back when, but never posted here. So yeah.

After relevant changes have been made and you are happy with the end product I ask that you send payment in one of the following ways:

- Paypal.

Step five:

After I have received payment I will electronically transfer the final image JPEG with no watermark (only a small signature.)


In addition if you would like:

- A signed print of your picture(s).
- A CD with a high resolution JPG file and PSD file.

Okay, so today Jess and myself adventured forth to buy some cat food and we stopped to get some lunch at A&W so we're eating and this chick in one of those motorized wheel-chairs is eating beside us. So she finishes and maneuvers her way around my chair and I, being polite, scoot forward so that she has more room. Not only does the bitch run into my chair, some fucking bar on her scooter gets caught on my jacket. I yell something like "hey!" because I chair is moved by this and I hear a ripping sound. "What the fuck!" Rip. rip rip. I stand up and she speeds away. Torn/run over jacket. If you're going to run around unattended please try and be a decent human being. She didn't apologize or even look back. I hope she rolls right off the skytrain platform into the path of an oncoming train.

On a happier note, I was looking at my old My Little Pony collection and decided that I might want to try my hand at making and selling custom ponies (like "Your character as a MLP" sort of thing) I think it would be really interesting to give it a shot. Not sure how many people would go for it really but if there is interest in it I might do it like a regular sort of thing.

((Also, if I sold home-made candles what do you guys think?))

Um...Been playing WOW like a mad-man since I got it. I play on Korialstraz realm and have a Lvl 34 Night Elf Druid named Valclav (Like my character, go me with the name recycling!). I'm in a guild called the Horde Smashers which is a really cozy community that I am very happy to take-part in and be an officer of :D

"US Congress approves Internet gambling ban bill

WASHINGTON, Sept 30 (Reuters) - Most forms of Internet gambling would be banned under a bill that received final U.S. congressional approval early Saturday.


The House of Representatives and Senate approved the measure and sent it to President George W. Bush to sign into law.

So, I got my pre-order of Okami, with free mini-buddha board, yesterday and I've got to say that it is a very visually interesting game. I'm about four hours in (Although I didn't realise how long I had been playing until I saved for the night XD) and so far the game has kept things interesting activity/plot wise. I'm actually pretty happy that it's a good game since the purchase of the pre-order was a sort of spur of the moment thing.

Also, I got my Boshi-Basiik hat yesterday. I'm so pleased with it :D It's black with green stars on the ear-flaps and little cat ears on the top, pictures to come!

Anyway, things have been alright, Lady got the operation and it ended up totaling $800 dollars or so. She's doing pretty well, the scar looks really horrible (of course) and she had a cyst removed from her mamory glad while they were at it. It also looks like I won'r be getting any help with the bill. Oh well, I guess I'm not good/popular enough to deserve help.

At work there was a shift change and I was the only one who had no idea about it because apparently for the last week the head of my department has been e-mailing every one to see if the schedule worked for them and my e-mail was accidentally left out of the list and now everyone has the hours they want but me. It's so fucking nice.

Arg.

I was thinking of buying a Vespa but then I thought to myself "with what money?" And I'm right of course. Like, 6000 bucks for the one I want too.(I though it was cheaper but it turns out I was wrong wrong wrong) Anyway, I'm tired. Goodnight.

I'm not really sure what to charge, I was thinking something like $20-30 USD?

I was thinking of doing it like this: You pay however much plus shipping for a printed and possibly matted and signed picture of whatever you want and a CD with a high resolution jpg and psd file sent to your house. This would be payed by check or money orders that I would be able to cash here in Canada.

To clarify I do not appreciate having her direct people here because I politely critiqued her work. I did not say "OH MY GOD I HATE THIS AND I HATE YOU AND YOU SHOULD STOP DRAWING BECAUSE YOU SUCK" Even though now I almost wish I had to at least deserve this level of over-reactive back-lash.

I'm sorry she does not have confidence in her work but I am not "picking on her" because I draw better or whatever. I gave helpful anatomical advice that she took as a personal attack. I was threatened and treated rudely and only in the end did I degrade into telling her to stop wanking as I had had enough of the lack of respect.

I would like everyone to know (just so we can witness the level of maturity we're dealing with here) that her most recent deviation is directed squarely at me. I'm sorry that she has such a thin skin

As for doing the same thing to her friend. It occured to me that I had seen an image in her gallery somewhere before and I inquired about it. The conversation ended on good terms and both sides walked away smiling.
