Note: This story may seem boring at first, but the boring details are necessary for the ending to be funny. And believe me, it is funny.

So last night at work (Wal-Mart), my first customers of the day were these four people, two men and two women, who were I guess doing their shopping for that month. They had two full buggies (shopping carts, if you prefer) of groceries, and just like anybody else, they were good and ready to go home.

The first lady unloaded her buggy and I started ringing up the stuff and putting it in bags. One of the guys meandered around to the front and loaded up the groceries as they came to him. All four people were cracking jokes the whole time, but the one guy in the front (I think they called him Cecil) kept heckling the lady unloading the groceries and giving her a hard time. I would just chuckle to myself and keep working.

The first lady filled up her buggy and told the second lady she could start loading groceries into her buggy. I guess the first lady went to the restroom or something, cuz I didn't see or hear her for a couple minutes. While she was gone, the assumed Cecil took her buggy and moved it out of the way, against the wall.

When she came back, she looked around and asked him, "Where's my basket? What did you do with my groceries?"

The reply:

"They was in the way, so I moved it. You know how that song goes, 'ya park it like it's hot'? I parked it like you got groceries."

.............for some reason, this emoticon seems the most appropriate for the situation:



I couldn't help but laugh. I kept thinking to myself, "I know he did NOT just do that!" That was the lamest, most hilarious thing I've ever heard. The other lady, the one with the second buggy, looked at me and asked, "You want him? He's not mine, you can have him. Please, take him home. Do it today." XD

Ah, I love my job. ^_^

As of this very moment, I have accepted all submissions that have been already sent to me. Even though I set a deadline and it has long since passed, I myself was late in getting started on them, so I accepted late entries. Now I am giving a one-week grace period for anybody else who wanted to try and enter. I'm very bad with deadlines, but this time I will strictly uphold my word.

Everyone read very closely: If you were thinking about entering, or if you've already started on an entry, you have until Friday, October 5th at 11:59pm US Central Standard Time. After that, I am closing the contest and will not be accepting any more entries.

Please send all entries in the form of notes containing a link to your deviation/submission. This is the easiest way for me to keep track of all the entries.

I'm not a stickler for legalities, but I realized the other day that even though the words are creative, the drawings are easily copied, being stick people and all. I just want my creations to stay my own, you know? I'm proud of my Doodles Mcgee.

Well....I don't really have an answer for that. All I can say is that I've been busy. Partially with things that need busying, and largely with things that...didn't. But I'm re-organizing my priorities, and I'm making my comeback starting now.

I don't have any new poems or photos at this very moment, but I'm working on a piece or two that I think you all will like.

Oh, and the contest? It's still on. Deadline May 18th. Why May 18th? Not a clue. Just popped into my head as a good date.

To ensure that I've got my records in order, I'm going to send a note to everyone who submitted an entry for the contest, even if I've already notified you that I recieved it. I just want to make sure I've gotten everybody's information properly recorded.

Well, I don't have a whole lot else to say, so I will bid you all a dew.

Last Monday, I ended up having emergency surgery. Since this journal is public, I'm going to leave out the graphic specifics. Bottom line, something that shouldn't have been bleeding in the first place was basically gushing it out (internally) at an unsafe level, and if my body hadn't been making the blood clot in a feeble attempt to stop the bleeding (though it did slow it down quite a bit), it's quite possible I could have bled to death. But I really don't like to think about that, so we're moving on from that topic.

How does this affect my contest? Well, I'm not cancelling it. I'm actually going to extend the deadline indefinitely, at least until I'm a bit more recovered from all this madness. So if you were wanting to enter and worried about not making the deadline, you don't have to worry about that anymore. I'm going to give at least an extra month, possibly longer. So there's no rush, by any means.

As for me, I'm doing well, considering. Still a good bit sore where the incision is, but all the doctors and nurses said I was healing very well, so I'm not too worried. Doc says I should stay off my bike for 7-10 weeks, but I think I'll be good and healed up before then. (Don't misunderstand: I'm not going to go riding until I feel physically up to it. I don't want anyone to think that I would ignore the doctor's orders out of stubbornness.)

In any case, I'll be home the rest of this week. I'll likely be back online at some point, but no guarantees.

So far I have only three entries for my contest. They're all fine entries, to be sure, but it's not much of a contest if only three people compete.

I had originally made the deadline this Friday, October 20. But I'm considering possibly extending it. I know people are interested in this contest, cuz they've expressed it directly. Perhaps giving more time would help me get more entries in it? What do you guys think? Should I extend the deadline by a couple of weeks, or perhaps a month or so? Let me know what you all think about that.

Also, I feel I should clarify how the entries will be judged. Once I have enough entries, I will allow a poll for anonymous voting. (In other words, no need to leave a reply saying who you voted for. Just vote on the poll.) Anyone can vote for whatever entry they feel is best. Of course, if there aren't enough people voting, then I'll just judge the entries myself and that will be that. Since I haven't posted for like, four days or something, I'm featuring four thumbnails today to make up for it. Mind you, I won't necessarily post an entry each day, but I will try to at least put up a new feature each day or so.

Well, I have been back from the band trip for several days now. It went pretty well overall, and I had a really good time. Unfortunately our team lost the game, but these things happen sometimes.

Why am I upset? Well, I almost got into a wreck today. It was my fault, which makes it worse. I'd rather not go into detail about it at the moment, but everything is ok now, so that's good.

Anyways, I must be off for the moment. Oh, and for those of you thoroughly confused by my latest poll....It's an inside joke I have with my band director.

UPDATE!! -- Since somebody asked, and I'm pretty sure they're not the only Deviant living in Texas, I'm gonna post the approximate times and locations of the NSU band performances!!

We are giving two performances -- One tonight, and one tomorrow night. Here are their approximate times and locations:

Friday (tonight)
Canton High School football stadium
Canton, TX
Approximately 7:00pm

Saturday (tomorrow night)
Floyd Casey Stadium (Baylor vs. NSU)
Waco, TX (or somewhere thereabouts)
Game begins at 6:00pm, we will of course perform at halftime

We're the big group of band nerds in the white polo shirts and purple shorts.

If you happen to catch one or both of our performances, let me know how we did!!! ^_^

Oh, and if you decide to be adventurous and figure out which one is me....I'm the really short piccolo player near the back of the field. lol

(A little tip: On the very last move in the show, I'm on the very back corner. If you were looking at the band and we were facing you, I would be in the very back, on the right.)

What I want from you guys is this:

What's the girl's story? Where is she? What is she doing there? How did she get there? Why is she there? What is she thinking? What is she going to do next? etc.

Those are just questions to get you thinking. You can answer one, all, or none of them if you like. Just write a poem or story about this girl's situation. I want to know what you interpret from this picture.

Prizes will be as follows:

1st prize: 3-month subby, and artist/deviation featured in my journal and/or signature for a month.
2nd prize: 2-month subby, and artist/deviation featured in my journal and/or signature for two weeks.
3rd prize: 1-month subby, and artist/deviation featured in my journal and/or signature for one week.

Ok, we came home from karate (all four of us) and let Millie outside to do her business. When she came back in, she wanted to get up on my bed. (It's too high for her to jump.) So I picked her up, put her on the bed, and she laid down on top of my pillows.

A few minutes later, I heard Momma fussing in the living room. Turns out Millie had peed behind the couch. Usually when she does something like that, she goes and hides under something first chance she gets. But I suppose this time she felt she was safe. lol

Well, Momma came in my room and said, "Is she hiding?" I was like, "No, she's right there." So Momma went up to her, and Millie was looking up at Momma like, "Oh shit."

Momma came up and fussed at her, then popped her on the behind a couple times. (Millie almost got herself into more trouble because she tried to bite Momma.) Once the fussing was done, Momma lifted Millie up off my bed and put her down on the floor. She told her, "Go! Go hide! I know that's what you're gonna do! Go on!" And Millie trotted off to the utility room (translation "the room with the washer and dryer" ) with her tail between her legs.

I was already laughing, just because of the look on Millie's face. Josh was standing in my doorway, also laughing. Momma was trying to keep the "mad" look on her face, but I could tell she wanted to laugh too.

Oh, but you haven't heard the best part yet.

Josh went to the utility room to see where Millie had gone. A moment later, he came out and informed us:

"She's hiding behind the toilet!!"

Of course I had to get up and go see this for myself. And sure enough:

Anyway, so I began sending notes and whatnot. After I was done with that, I went back to the poems I had submitted and edited the descriptions to say that I had submitted such-and-such poem to such-and-such club. You know how that goes. So I had done all that, and I went back to my main page.

Imagine my surprise when none of my recent deviations were shown on my user page.

I thought maybe the page just hadn't loaded right, but just to be sure, I went to my gallery to make sure everything was in order.

MY GALLERY WAS EMPTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I panicked. I absolutely freaking panicked. All sorts of logical and illogical possibilities began running through my head. "Have I been banned? Have they deleted all my poems? Why? What did I do wrong??"

Thankfully, for reasons that I still don't understand, they all showed back up after I clicked around some more.

Nevertheless, it's a good thing I have hard copies of all my poems, right?

The club's objective is explained on the main page, but it's been inactive for so long, nobody really sees it that much. So I'm going to explain a little bit about it here on my journal, in the hopes that I get a little more traffic to it. (Now that I think about it, I may also put this on the club's main page.)

The club is, first and foremost, a celebration of the yaoi pairing of two of Final Fantasy's greatest villians: Kuja from FFIX, and Sephiroth from FFVII. However, you do not necessarily have to be a fan of the pairing in order to join this club. Up to a point, you don't even have to like yaoi (as long as you don't bash or be rude to other members that do like yaoi). You can join this club if you are a fan of either of these characters by themselves.

We accept deviations of any kind. (i.e. drawings, writings, etc.) They don't always have to involve both characters. If you drew a picture of Sephiroth that you think is awesome, feel free to submit it to the club's gallery. If you wrote a fanfic about Kuja that you really like, submit that too. Anything involving Sephiroth or Kuja is acceptable, as long as it's not too graphic and it follows the typical DA rules. We do accept mature deviations, as long as they aren't too explicit.

Well, that's it as far as the basics go. The club is still a baby, so to speak, but hopefully it will grow and flourish.

I was hoping I could submit it as a deviation on here, but there's a slight problem: I did it in pencil using notebook paper, and it's three pages long. Which means I have to scan each page separately, and it ends up being three different files. Of course, as you all know, only one file at a time can be submitted for a deviation, and, well, I just didn't see the point of submitting three deviations for one damn episode.

So instead, I uploaded each one to my PhotoBucket account, and I decided to post the links here in my journal. If you're interested, kindly click each link in order and read the comic. Read it from left to right, top to bottom, just like you would a regular comic strip.

Nobuo Uematsu (the composer behind nearly every Final Fantasy game) is a musical GENIUS. Him and Yasonori Mitsuda (the composer behind Xenosaga Episode I) are perhaps the two greatest video game composers that ever lived. *bows down to their almightiness*

Today's order of business: An interview by SadBrokenWings. She has asked me questions, and I shall answer them. Makes sense so far, right?

1. Did you ever have a pet? If so, what was your first?
My family has had several pets in my lifetime. The very first ones I remember were Chrissy (a pickanese/poodle) and Gumbo (a pitbull). They both lived to a ripe old age.

2. What is your favorite letter? Why?
I think I would have to say either X, Y, or Z. They're just cool like that.

3. Do you have a boyfriend/girlfriend?
I do have a boyfriend. His name is Ian, and we've been together nearly seven months now.

4. What color are your eyes?
My eyes are brown.

5. State a weird fact about yourself.
On the outside corners of both my eyes, there is a small patch of skin that is noticably whiter than the rest of my face. When I was little, I used to rub my eyes a lot (I still do sometimes), and I eventually rubbed the color out of my skin. It's noticable, but not really that bad. My glasses make it a little less obvious. It's kinda funny when I get sunburned, cuz they turn pink.
