...Okay, one of the lions didn't move as much (must be a stoner lion).

I quite liked this year's lion dance, because one of them was more animalistic; he scratched his face with his front leg, preened himself with his massive head, and (heh) sniffed the other lion's butt when it was lying down to eat! One had a tail, so I gave touched it (I don't yank the tails, I follow them) but good job. Usually they shake their head frantically and wave it side to side, but this year one of them had this concentrated shake, and that was something new which I also liked. I know the face pawing isn't new, but I hardly see that done. Different troops, different performances, but when they were sizing each other up for the grub, they rolled their head! :giggle:

Even my dog wasn't as scared as we thought she would be! (she barked then kinda shirked away when she realised they were proper massive) :XD: Makes me want to learn lion dancing, but you have to be very strong to carry the head, AND blink the eyes, flap the ears, swing it around...and the dude on the lower half has to flap the sides as if its breathing. You also have to take cue from the music, peel the oranges, etc. etc. Hard work, hard work. I like the way they blink and flap he ears, you can hear a 'rukh' sound from the d00d pulling the strings inside the head.

Btw, the lion dance I'm talking about is the Southern lion dance.

...My dog looks like them...beautiful and fugly at the same time, both entertaining, wonderful. The troop has done a good job, kudos to them :D
