!!! I cosplayed quite a bit at Anime Expo this weekend, and no, I didn't end up going the last day, but that's alright, I was too tired to get up =___=; Here are some of the pictures of my cosplay from Day 3, photo's are courtesy of a couple of awesome friends, Lance and Matt (Jerhico, the one who's trying to kill Storm). Worship them and their mad photo-taking skills. They look great! Don't they? >D
Matt and I got photographed for Chicago Magazine the same day. And I got a free plug for my upcoming novel! Omgosh I'm sooo excited -squeals-
despite some bumps and rough areas, all in all, AX was AMAZING. I'm definitely going again next year. I met sooooooo many cool people, and the atmosphere was just,... awesome. It was so inspiring. I'm really excited about getting into this field of work now. The people are just so fun to talk to. I got to meet the guy that plays Caboose (Joel) on Red vs. Blue and the lady that plays Shiela (Yomary, The nice tank lady! xD) wow, they were awesome people. Day 2 of the convention, I was carrying around this sign that said 'driver for hire: will work 4 $money. Specializing in: transportation, hand-to-hand combat, and sharpshooting. I also make HITS. P.S. No, I'm NOT a whore. P.S.S. I'm hungry and i was dressed up like Adri (my crazy driver character that ran over Rae xD) and I had it at the RVB booth, and Joel was all '.... sooooo... you'd drive me ANYWHERE? >}' and was just all '.... yeah sure!' and he's like '.. can you drive me and HIM -points to kid he's talking to- to virginia?? to go pick up his friend??' I was like ' I don't have that many days off of work.. but ok!!!' It was awesome to go visit Artists' Alley too, I got to meet a lot of people on Deviantart (the website where I post all of my art), and now I'm thinking about getting a table next year so I can sell my stuff!
Then on Day 3 when we were in line for 5 hours waiting for Masquerade, we met this really awesome group of kids (4 guys and 1 girl) and needless to say, we befriended them and had a blast for 5 hours. It went by a lot faster than I expected it to ^^
Well, anyways, my pictures will be up as soon as I get them developed. lol >_< Digital camera wasn't working so I couldn't take it -sob-
enjoy my cosplay pictures, I went as Storm, and had all too much fun >D

Korinne had to paint all my tattoos on the night before, so they were kind of flaking off in the morning but eh, it still looked fine for pictures xD

It kinda sucked because we got there at like.. 7:30 in the frikkin morning, but on the BRIGHT side of things, we found some of my friends in line who had been there since like.. 6, and they were almost at the front of the pre-register line so we got to cut and only ended up standing in line for like.. 45 minutes or so xD omg I felt sooooo bad for Matt though. He had to stand in line for 2 AND A HALF FREAKIN HOURS to get his tickets @____@; for the PRE-REGISTER line, but he got there at about 10:30ish, so that's his fault xD While we waited for the Exhibition hall to open we watched all the crazy DDR people upstairs... woooow, yeah, those guys are insane. This one guy was like.. doing drops and spins, and all these actual hip-hop moves while he was playing the game, and he was still doing SO well. -dies-

I couldn't get my digital camera to work, so until I get my disposeables developed, or Robin puts the pictures she took up, I won't have any pictures ;__; Sorry guys, DEFINITELY after the expo is over though. FOR SURE.

Ok, so no one took pictures of me in the jacket, but as soon as I changed into the shirt and started carrying my gun over my shoulder, people were coming up to me left and right going 'OMG CAN I GET A PICTURE!?' it was freaking AWESOME. The highlight of my day, had to be when these special photographers pulled me aside and asked if they could take pictures of me. I was so excited, inside I was all like 'KLSKDGJH I GET TO BE ON THE WEBSITE @_@!!! -flail-'. That and when at one point, Matt and I stopped to take pictures with these two guys that were dressed up like the guys from Metal Gear Solid, and I had either of my guns on them and Matt had his rifle, while they were standing there with their hands up like 'we surrender!' (some random guy was in the background messing around goofing off xD) but like... a few people were taking pictures, then like.. 30 people stopped and just started taking pictures, and we were just standing there like '....... o__O;; can we move yet?' for like 5 minutes. aaahahaha it was so great...

OHOH!! I got this special FMA messenger bag with Ed's face embriodered on it. There were only like 1, 000 made or something like that, and I only paid $26 bucks for it >D -cackles- but in short, that was my first day at AX. *sigh* I've been pondering leaving DA because of their failure to protect copyright reasons and such for the art community. They don't do much more than slap a courtesy © under your picture with your name next to it to discourage people from stealing your work, but when it really comes down to it, and it DOES end up stolen, they do nothing, and all we can do is fend for ourselves.
Or, they fucking threaten to ban you like they did -__-+ And if I want to keep my ideas safe from the general public, I probably shouldn't flaunt their plots and stuff so openly. I guess I was partly at fault for that.

Anyways, if I stay here, you won't be finding out as much about my characters and plots anymore.

I was embarrassed, and I hope you are too. I was absolutely mortified by the whole situation, and let me tell you, after that I made sure that it never happened again. I would think that after this ---> [link] you would have learned that lesson. But you didn't, did you? And let me make something clear to you while I'm on the topic. THAT IS THE SAME PICTURE, whether you want to admit it or not. Just because you re-drew it and threw your character in there, doesn't make it your own. You were not inspired to draw that, you saw it, and wanted it to be your own. So you re-drew it. There are so many other ways that you could have re-drawn that picture, but you didn't. You could have improvised and maybe drawn it at a different angle, added flying purple monkey KFC ninjas that will fight for the freedom of bannanas everywhere into the background or something o fthe sort, but you didn't. You decided to make it look exactly like the original. And that, unfortunately, is where it becomes theft. The only reason why I'm really making such a big deal out of this is so that you REALIZE that its WRONG before you REALLY get into trouble for it. Someday, all of my work (including characters) WILL BE COPYRIGHTED, and you could get SUED for stealing ideas. That's right, SUED. Do you want to be sued? I think not. So maybe that will be enough of an incentive to start coming up with your own stuff ALL THE TIME. I have my sources that I get my information from. Reliable sources. Don't question them. I have eyes and ears everywhere, and I will know when something of mine has been ripped off.
I worked HARD to get to where I am today, and NOT by copying other people's styles. Sure, I studied them, but I started developing my own, playing around with things. If you really wanted to get better, you wouldn't just try to 'redraw' things, you would be out there, studying the hell out of the human anatomy (among other things), looking at every fine line, finding where muscles attatch, how they are distorted when the limb is moved in a certain direction, the list goes on forever. there's just so much to think about when trying to formulate a piece of work. there's so much more to a drawing than just a few lines on a piece of paper, and when I work hard on something, only to find out later that the work was stolen/copied/ripped off in some way, it makes me pretty pissed, because I SLAVE over my artwork until its just the way I want it, (trying to visualize a pose or get a grip on perspective) or until it's even remotely tolerable. same with my roleplay characters. What the general public (that is my watchers, or anyone that keeps up with my plots) knows about my characters, is only about a good 1/8 of their actual plots. I spend hours, days, weeks, months, years developing my characters and formulating their plots, until they become as real as the person next to me. I learn something new about them every day. So naturally, I get very defensive when people steal my ideas.
I study writing in the same way that I study drawings: I break down how the writer guides your thought process, how much information the author lets onto at a given time, what kind of hints they're giving.. sentence syntax, use of words or irregularly placed verbs: Its a very strategic process. Names? I suck at names. I flat out SUCK at naming my characters. So how do I come up with them? A lot of times I'll just hop on some name site like 'babynames.com' and look for a specific meaning for a name and chooes one, or I'll pick some key element out of their 'hardly developed' past and have the central focus of their plot on that. 'Storm' (which isn't her real name anyways) I did not get from 'X-men', contrary to popular belief -__-+ (I actually never had any interest in x-men growing up.) alright, i've gotta admit, SOME of the names i DID copy off of you, i did not /steal/ the names though. You cant exactly 'steal' names.
the ones that were inspired/taken/copied off of you are Kaos, Dirtbike, and Twix. Soul came from my creation, his full name is Soulutiion, he is a black aisha on neopets that was frozen, but believe me, I DID NOT TAKE THAT NAME FROM YOU! and Spence came from the name of a guys' brother at school that i've had a crush on for the past 4-5 years. the boys name is Miles, and the brothers name is Spencer. i liked his brothers name, therefore i decided to use it. Dice came from inspiration from one of my friends in real life. She had said something about dice once, and gambling, and i thought 'hey, Dice, thats a cool name, why not use it for a roleplaying character?' and thats how i got Dice. Dicerero is his full name, Dice is his nickname. so i did not 'steal' the names Spence, Soul, or Dice, /even if they happen to be the same names as your characters/.

i don't want to hear your fucking excuses. I'm thoroughly PISSED-OFF. Name theft IS a form of theft, because you STOLE MY ORIGINAL IDEAS FOR A CHARACTER. and the FUNNY thing is, you knew each character i was talking about, without forcing me to list them out for you.
"Dice" has been in the making since my sophmore year of high school. THAT'S 4 YEARS AGO. "Dice" was first mentioned in Moonbay's story, and Dirtbike was connected THROUGH Moonbay's story, which MUST mean that you had read it, otherwise you wouldn't have known about dirtbike to begin with. And SPENCE was around WAY before you even put a watch on me, and all of these characters, suddenly showed up AFTER you put a watch on me.

There's a fine line between inspiration and theft. INSPIRATION is when you see something and are INSPIRED to draw something because of it. NOT copy/redraw it! THEFT is when you see something that you like, and decide to take/draw it for YOURSELF. Even if you twist it and morph it a bit, the IDEA STILL BELONGS TO THE ORIGINAL CREATOR. But really, I have THE BIGGEST, DUMBEST GRIN ON MY FACE RIGHT NOW AND IT IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE ANYTIME SOON. For my English 100 class, we had to write about 50 journals this semester, and since I couldn't find things to just randomly 'write about', I decided to stash portions of the novel-in-progress that , and myself have been plotting out for the last... eh, I'd say a few months or so (because we only recently decided to actually make a novel out of it). He gave it back to me and said "I really want to know what happens next o_o". I was shocked. I mean.. I knew we were good writers, but what floored me even MORE was when I asked him if he really thought it was that good, and he said "Oh yeah, it's definitely at that level! Even for a first draft! It's very good!" and suggested that I take a look at the writer's catalogue in the library to classify a genre before we get it into final print.
My jaw hit the floor, I think I just about fainted: that was huge, and it meant a lot to me coming from my COLLEGE PROFESSOR.

this day has marked a turning point in my life -makes note of it-

Shakespeare himself couldn't have said it better. Yeah... it was one of those days today... the kind where you know that you should have just pulled the shades and stayed in bed from the very moment the first light from the sun filtered through your eyelids to disturb your slumber and tear you from your dream world, which, unfortunately, I hadn't been too deeply intwined in after the insomniac attack of the century; not even melatonin could knock me out. I don't remember ever falling asleep.
After getting to school an hour late because of an alarm clock refusing to go off when I had asked it to, I found myself with little to say to my teacher, whom I assume, had assumed that I was having major health issues this morning; I politely informed her that I was late because of my malfunctioning alarm clock.
Things seemed to get better after that, my 'chinese masters' ink painting seemed to be going very well, I worked on some late homework for English 100 between classes, grabbed a bite to eat..
Oh no. I should have known better than that, because my FAVORITE class of all time was about to start at half past noon. That teacher is a capitol bitch, and no other word could levelly describe the abhorrence and animosity that I harbor towards her better: she was out to make sure that I failed her class, or at least hated her beyond what was humanly possible; She is probably just out to piss me off, what with her constant tearing down of my beliefs and my God in the middle of her lectures, day in and day out. I've always wanted to remind her of what class she's teaching, and to stick to the damn topic, but instead ended up just sitting there biting my tongue, beating holes in the inner walls of my sanity, all the while lulling myself into a trance while I listen to the sound of my would-be shattering bones and imagine the shocking pain of the crumbling of my body, should I ever become unable to control my anger any longer and start to take out my agressions on those around me, instead of keeping it trapped in my alternate reality. She somehow manages to bring out the worst in me, and I haven't known another human being in my lifetime that has had that kind of power over me. But you know why? It's because she's posessed by something otherwordly. Call me crazy, but I know its there, some kind of demon just laughing at how my God is unable to tame this deranged and, dare I say, murderous animal without a ball and chain, maybe a shotgun, and even then, it won't die. They take sick pleasure in things of that matter.
But before I tell you about, what was actually running through my mind this day, I should probably recall just what set me off.
For the last.. oh, month and a half or so, the students have been giving oral presentations about a particular style of dance that we picked out of a bag at random at the beginning of the semester. I was originally supposed to be doing the music portion of our presentation, but a few weeks before we were supposed to be presenting, one of my groupies came to me and asked if she could switch with me so that I would be doing the current information; she was asian and couldn't speak English very well, so she could not understand what exactly she was supposed to be doing.
Well, as I soon found out, I couldn't do a much better job.
My part of the presentation ended up being about 7 minutes in length when I was supposed to be taking about fifteen, but she had never even given us guidelines as to what the hell she wanted us to include in that presentation! So me and every other person in my class ended up with next to NOTHING for our part of the presentations. Especially me, because we were lucky enough to pick African Dance as our topic of study. NOT MUCH GOING ON IN THAT AREA OF DANCE TODAY. She ended up giving me a 68% on the project, because my part of the presentation was 'boring' and short. I supposedly contradicted myself-
FUCK YOU BITCH!, was what I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs so badly; my inner self had already done so within the confines of my alternate reality. I mean seriously, you expect me to believe that you were going to give a better grade to the girl who went up there and talked for less than sixty seconds? At least I TRIED to lengthen my part of the presentation you whore. And you can't just stand there and try to tell me that ANYONE is going to get a better grade than me, for that matter! I watched every other person in that class that had the same part of the presentation, give the same as, or less information than I provided.

While this is great for me, because I now have more free time, and less homework to do... its just one more thing I have to complete at the end of the semester


hooooookay so here's the deal. There is only about 4 weeks of school left for me, and I have a HELLUVA lot of work to do.. except for one eeeensy little problem.
My health. It's been keeping me from doing anything productive for the last few weeks, and I'm only getting further and further behind in my work... so far, in fact, that I'm drowning. I mean, my head's not even out of the water anymore. I KNOW if I could just sit down and focus, I could crank half of this stuff out pretty gosh darn fast, but my brain literally is refusing to function at all, and I don't want to do the work and put only half the effort into it and get a bad grade. @_e;
And because I'm having such a hard time seeing things one piece at a time, instead of looking at it as one huge lump, I made myself a checklist, and it looks something like this:

Thank GOD Sport Chalet hasn't been scheduling me too much this last few weeks, so I just might be able to pull off a miracle, with a little help from God x__X; Good Lord... I'm in a bit of a pickle here.. I'm really starting to get stressed out now, and that's not good for my health.

which pretty much sums up my day today :3 I FINALLY got to go snowboarding, and I got to test out my knee's strength. (By the way guys, conditions at Snow Summit are great early in the morning! So get there early and leave about noon-ish, because that's when it starts getting slushy, and then you REALLY have to work)
I couldn't wipe the stupid grin off my face all day, I was just so farking happy to be back on the slopes. And my brother couldn't have described the feeling better, it was like riding a bike. If you saw me, you'd find it hard to believe that I hadn't been since last season, because it just came back so naturally to me. But man... it made me realize how much I just LOVE being up there.

The good news is, my knee feels fine! the bad news is, my butt really hurts x__x; and not because it was my first time (yeah right man! this is like- my fourth or fifth season!). i fell in line for one of the ski lifts, and fell right on the top of the back of my binding >.
more guys whistled and yelled at me .__. not only from the skilift this time, but when i was leaving. I think its because they were the guys that were riding behind us on Westridge like- all day. so it was a bit of a compliment to me that they noticed I was carving hard and taking chances with those kickers I wanted to try my first jib today, but decided against it because I didn't want to push it and really hurt myself (and I was thinking I should get better at landing jumps first!)

and to end the day properly, I came home and practically collapsed before changing into my bikini and hitting our jacuzzi. my muscles are all relaxed now ^_____________^ -glee- it was an awesome day, I doubt I'll be able to match it for a long time to come... unleeeess...

I was thinking about going up next week on tuesday if anyone wants to join me. They're supposed to be getting a storm in this weekend, and if they get snow, I'm takin a day off school and goin' up. If you're interested, tag me. or just gimme a call.

No more than a few days later, I was at work working the registers, and my manager came out and pulled my drawer, and took me back into his office and shut the door, saying ‘We need to have a little talk.’ Apparently, I had expressed to a customer, my lack of enthusiasm for my working at Sport Chalet, and commented that I ‘should get a new job’, and that pissed him off beyond belief. He started yelling at me, pulled the ‘you need to decide whether or not you still want to work here and shape up.’ card, and pretty much told me that ‘I am valuable but they’re not afraid to let me go’. He made me cry, because I can’t tolerate yelling, and I tried to calmly explain to him that I had probably also mentioned something about my knee problems and my lack of pay, and those were the reasons why I said that, not because I didn’t like working there. I love -most- of the people I work with, and I get along with them. I love the environment, when the customers aren’t bitchy and/or stupid. I also told him that I had been trying to work up the courage to approach management about getting a raise, since at my year I had gotten a lousy $0.35 raise, which took me up to a whopping $7.35 an hour, when new hires with no experience (and one of them was two years younger than me!) were being hired on between $7.75 and $9.00 an hour. Here I was, busting my ass for them for almost a year and a half, I’m versatile, they can put me in almost every department and I can work it because I know technicalities about the merchandise, I’m valuable to them. I work three different departments, and I can be a runner (means I’m running different departments all day). And he comes back saying ‘Well if you’re wanting a raise, you’re going about it all the wrong way, because right now, I wouldn’t even consider you a raise by the way you’re acting. You need to shape up blah, blah, blah…’, I stopped listening after that because he started yelling again. Its automatic for me to shut down when people start yelling. So, needless to say, I started looking for another job after that, applied to three or four different places about starting at $10.00 an hour to be a part time receptionist. I might get a job at the salon I’ve been going to like, all my life, for possibly more than that, but still… even if I worked just weekends, that’d be fine. I could keep my other job during the week and still go to school. I’m not making enough money to support my car, and my parents have been pushing me to find a new job because they can’t financially afford it either…

Well, things didn’t stop there. I had already been battling my illness for a while at this point, waking up every morning in excruciating pain and feeling sicker than a dog, but I still had to force myself to get up and go to school and work to ‘make a living’. I also have to get ’lots of sleep and lots of rest’, but with all the crap in my life between friends, work, school, family, and time that I have to factor in for me, it doesn’t happen, and that’s bad for my health. If you didn’t know.. my body is in a Pre-Lupus state, which means that I have an abnormally high ANA (Anti-Nucleic Antibodies) count in my blood, and when that happens, it can cause all sorts of problems with your body, because what happens, is that the ANA starts attacking your white blood cells and killing them off. It makes you more vulnerable to disease, and if you DO get sick, it takes about 4-5 times LONGER to heal completely, thus the reason for my stomach illness that has been going on for years, and the reason for all the pain in my knee and joints. It’s bullshit, I say. I don’t see how one little thing could cause so many problems for me, but the doctors say it does. hey for those of you that care of have been actually listening when I said I was sick.. yeah here's an update on my 'health' situation.

So I know you all know about my knee problems... well, I got blood tests taken to see if I had arthritus.. that proved negative, but my ANA count in my blood was high, so now they want me to go get further blood tests so they can test me for Lupus. That won't be happening until January though. Worst case scenario, if I did have lupus, it would explain a WHOLE LOT of things, such as why i'm always getting sick so easily, why my body is always in pain, and why I have so many stomach problems.

I went to the doctor's last week to make sure nothing was seriously wrong with me -like a virus or something- and got the normal 'hm that's weird. don't know what's wrong! -classic foamy moment here- But here, we'll give you this and this. hopefully, you'll feel better!'
ok first off, the anti-nausia medicine, takes about 4 hours to kick in... its supposed to kick in about 20 minutes after taking it. and then its only supposed to last for about 6-8 hours. -__-
ugh... its usually taking me till about noon for the nausia to completley wear off..

Next wednesday, I am going to see a gastrointerologist, about a possible gastric hernia (I think that's what its called) or maybe he'll just figure out what's going on with my stomach problems, since this has really been going on for years.

so! what can we conclude?
1.) by the end of this journey, sara will have been to .. 4-5 different doctors!!
2.) sara has lost all faith in doctors as of right now
and 3.) SARA HATES NEEDLES AND THEY NEED TO STOP POKING HER GAWEHG; B DOBISHE WTf T___t;;;;

As some of you know, I sent a picture from my gallery, .:My Immortal:., in to tokyopop for their fanart thing-a-ma-bobber at the end of every Rave Master book! AND THEY CHOSE MY PICCY FOR THE 15TH VOLUME!!!! -dies repeatedly-

yeah, I found out in the middle of my cartooning class, so my teacher was like 'o_o..... wow... congratulations!' I even got a round of applause! haha. yeah, I was all 'HA! TAKE THAT BITCHES!! BET YOU'RE WORK HASN'T BEEN PUBLISHED YET!'

naaah i'm just kidding xD

but i AM very VERY EXCITED about having one of my pictures published!!! OMG

so yeah, tokyopop WAS supposed to come into our cartooning class as Cypress College to get a look at our work, but they didn't end up coming this semester. So hopefully, they'll get to next semester when I finally get the opportunity to get to work on my manga, since it'll be my only concern for that class ;D really, it probably worked out better that way, since i had all of 6 pages done on my manga x__X;;

but hey! GUYS!! I need your help deciding which of my two stories i should do for the manga project next semester. I have two MAJOR original stories I would LIKE to turn into manga's, but I just can't decide which one I want to do! I wish I still had a subscription so I could do polls >.< But instead I'll just post a brief description of each here. You're choices are as follows:

Prime Ops- this, as of right now, is a manga-in-the-making. I'm going to go back and re-do the first 3 pages anyways, so don't worry about the 'oh you already have some done though!' I want you guys to tell me which plotline you'd find more interesting. This is going to be a war/mechs/sci-fi plotline with a little bit of romance and angst

The Zero Project- this, as of right now, is a WRITTEN series. I have almost two chapters written, please go read EACH to find out what they're about, unless, of course, you already do KNOW what they're about I promise they're interesting, I have had many people tell me they love how I write, and I've had many a picky reader tell me that they actually LOVE reading what I write

I got just over $1,000 for graduation money, so I'm gonna buy me a computer So in a few months, I'll be heading on over to Cypress College to study my first year of animation and illustration!!!! (FHGYAOAWBNITFUVC O_____o) But i still have yet to decide where I'm going to transfer from there. Need to go to a good art college where I could also study interror design and journalism (any suggestions?) I was thinking AI or Concordia (volleyball wise, if I end up playing after I take a year off for my knee), or there was this college I saw an ad for when I was in NYC last summer, and they had EVERYTHING I wanted to major/minor in, and I LOOOOOOOVE NY
many decisions coming up in my life, but I'd better start thinking now.
