Been a little bit. Been doing some doodlings, working on a comic. Only one strip up so far, I need to do an intoductory thing before posting the others I've made.

Signed up for classes next semster, yus yus. Cool stuff; Drawing 3, Forensic Chemistry, a theatre design class, Graphic Design 2, Islamic Art and Architecture. AWESOME.
In other news;
My brother in law and little sister both got H1N1! Yikes! Little sister's doing better of the two, she's been quarantined away in her dorm because she can't go home. BECAUSE my older sister and her two young children (one a newborn!) are staying there because her husband has it too. He has it worse, though. Mom said he also has pneumonia and bronchitis. JEEZ.

I haven't even drawn much. Well, nothing that'll end up on here. Scribbles and doodles on lined paper or napkins. I'm actually really dissapointed in myself.
I have plans to make a comic (yeah, I know), and it may actually work out because it's going to be a scribble comic. And if there's one thing I can do regularly, it's scribble.

Going back to school soon. I'm sure the classes I take will inspire me to actually DO things, and POST them as well. So chronically lazy. Anyway, got an apartment with my best bud and previous dorm roomie. It'll be expensive,but it's SOOPAH COOL and one of the walls is brick and it looks like a european flat and did I mention that it's cool?

So, expect actual stuff from me in the future. Because I'm going to make myself do more ART because it's kind of what I'm going to school for. HUR.

Still on campus.

Aurgh this past week was killer. I didn't have a lot of traditional sit-down finals, as I had a lot of art classes this semester (ART MAJOR FTW). INSTEAD, I had a crapload of 'final projects' that had to be finished by the final period. Printmaking was...really hard, because not only did we have to finish our 8 reduction linocuts (That wasn't too bad, I was ahead on that part), we had to mat one of them, and one of the prints we'd done at the beginning of the semester. Which means BUYING MAT BOARD. Also for some reason I was inder the impression that we only had to mat one thing. *facepalm* FAIL.

Then there was Sophomore Studio, which needed a powerpoint as well as a research project on the SAME ARTISTS that were in the powerpoint. kasgdiqbdjaliuowkel;s. That took forever.

Aaaand my other finals weren't so bad (except for Sociology, which was just retardedly and frustratingly easy like the rest of the class I HATED THAT CLASS SO MUCH)

And now I'm tired. Want to sleep.

I watched Gladiator last night! That was a cool movie, very dramatic. I had to analyze the soundtrack for a project, but if anything, it added to the movie's effect.

My last final is on Thursday, so I'll be home Friday! So excited! I want to snuggle in my big bed and watch movies with my family and go hiking with friends and everything! SUMMER IS COMING~!

Also, gotta work on a wedding present for some friends of mine. They're getting married in June! That'll be a cool wedding. My mom's doing the cake.

Well, soon enough I'll be going over their place with Caitlin for their Twilight Rifftracks party. That's the movie Twilight(urgh) with the hilarious commentary by the Mystery Science Theater people. Ah, Mystery Science Theater, you are the only thing that could make that movie cool.

So, update on me. I have spent every spare moment this past week and a half working on my graphic design project. Haha. SO MUCH TIME. I stayed up so late the past two nights before it was due. It was due on thursday. Then I had some fun with friends that evening, eating snacks and being silly while watching TV.

Then the next morning I had to get up at 4:30 am OMGUH SO EARLY to go on a mandatory feild trip to the Museum of Modern Art in NYC YAY MANDATORY $40 BUS RIDE. After an uncomfortable 5 hour bus ride(I only slept a little bit, and watched the sunrise as much as I could), we arrived in NYC.

Oh yes, New Your City, the glamorous. My class ran around the city, went to the studio of a well-known contemporary artist and heard artsy talk, walked around some more, went on the subway (OH YEAH, THE SUBWAY. IN NYC.), waled around some more in the thunderstorm (I got soaked. >: ), and saw some modern art at the museum, almost missed the bus with my teacher, ran along the streets in a desperate attempt to make it back to the Metropolitan Museum of Art (where the bus was. Quite a few blocks away.), and finally got in a cab. Yes, a genuine NYC cab. Made it to the bus, and spent another 5 hours on a bus!

...I slept most of today. This week has been exhausting.

So! Housing update! My roomie and I have officially signed the lease to a nifty little apartment real close to the college, so we won't be homeless. Which is good. It's gonna be expensive, but I'm hoping for the best.
Been sorta busy, a lot of projects due. Today I have to finish my etching and print 5 good, consistant prints and then mat one to turn in tomorrow morning. D:
Oh, and also finish my project for my film music history class. But I'm already half done that one.

SPRING BREAK is coming! I'm so happy. I haven't been home in a while, and it'll be great to be with my family. I'll be home for the celebration of Irish stereotypes too! Don't get me wrong I love that stuff. Yum yum corned beef and sodabread.

Just got back from housing selection and all that jazz. Had a crappy lottery number, but I tried to stay positive.
Yeah, they ran out of rooms. My roommate and I have been basically kicked off campus for next year. Oh, sure, there's a 'waitlist', but it's a terrible system. You put in the $300 housing deposit and hope that somebody bails, or that there will be rooms after all the incoming freshmen have been housed. Which is in freaking mid-summer. So, if you waited around all that time, hoping to get on campus, and it dosn't work out, you have no time to find alternative housing. It's asinine.
Also, if you had to look for a place while on the waitlist, and they find you a room but you've already signed the lease, you don't get the $300 back.

I really wanted to stay on campus. I'm just...really dissapointed.

We haven't had the time to actually sit down and talk about concerns/expectations as a group though, so that...makes me nervous I guess. (That plus the fact that they're already looking at cats to get when we get the apartment) 'Course, anything involving this would make me nevous. HUGE COMMITTMENT. Committments scare the everloving crap out of me. Plus, finances. Will I be able to have enough money? Will it be close enough? What about food costs? >: This is the kinda stuff that'll give me an ulcer.

In other news, Thanksgiving. Best holiday EVER.
I ate so much food I gained like, 4 pounds. Or something. Turkey and mashed potatoes and candied yams and carrots and mashed vegetable and PIE. FOUR KINDS OF PIE.
No lie. It was what I ate for breakfast lunch and dinner the day after Thanksgiving. Oh, leftovers...

So winter is on the way, which means I'll be more active after finals(in 2 weeks) with the art and stuff. Vacation plus the fact that I find myself to be more creative in winter will contribute to that. Did some fanfic MiSTing with my sister over break, that was fun. Papers are starting to pile up, and finals are right around the corner. Which is stressing me out a little. Plus I've been in kind of a bummed out sort of mood for about a week now, complete with anxiety and all. It's probably just the stress and homesickness.

But Thanksgiving vacation is coming up soon! That'll give me a much-needed break. Except for the fact that I'll have to take my art history paper with me. Eheh.

Had a great time with friends last night, though, despite my crankiness. We commandeered Fiske Hall's kitchen and made a full blown home-cooked meal, with 2 deserts and everything. Then we watched some Mystery Science Theatre 3000 in the common room. AWESOME.

I mean, I was expecting a lot worse because it's 3D and all....(the last 3D movie I saw was Spy Kids 3....EW) But I was pleasantly suprised and enjoyed the feature. With spiffy 3D glasses.

The Mummy, on the other hand...D8

Let me start out by saying that I -really- wanted to like this movie. Like, a lot. I love The Mummy and The Mummy Returns. They're probabaly my favorite movies ever, and I watch them more than is normal. When I found out about #3, I was so excited, and withheld judgement that is usually associated with threequels. I could overlook a lot of flaws. I was going to make myself like this movie, if I had to!
Turns out it was so horrible that even I could not pardon its errors. Evy was NOT played by Rachael Weiss. Dialogue was so corny and lame that I had to look away in shame. The only thing worse than the dialogue was the casting/character of the son, Alex. First off, the kid was freakin' BRITISH in the second move, and somehow he's magically free of an british accent in the third? Also, he was a total idiot with an obnoxious smile and no respect for his winsome parents. HE was all- WAH WAH ME ME ME, IMMA GO CHASE SOME TAIL.
They could have really done something awesome with the story concept that they had, as the Dragon Emperor was pretty interesting, but alas, they did not. Now I must watch the first two movies repetedly until I forget that there even WAS a third.
I am so dissapointed.


In other news, I went to a really awesome concert on Saturday. SYX and BOSTON! It was great! Rained basically the whole time, but it was still awesome.

Been quite the busy worker bee of late!
Sadly, I still fell short the quota I'd set for myself to earn by this time, so the payment I make to the school will be less. Which means higher monthly payments for my parents. I will contribute as much as I can to those by means of my work study job.

Went to Hershey Park recently, which was AWESOME. If you exclude the 8 hour car ride. Both ways.
But seriously! ROLLERCOASTERS AND CHOCOLATE AND A ZOO. What more can ya ask for? And the rollercoasters were GREAT. The Stormrunner is AMAZING and TERRIFYING and it beats the pants offa Superman, that's for sure. It takes you out of the station all slow-like, then you wait for a few seconds in anticipation. Then, with barely a warning, you go from 0mph-60(ish)mph in like, 2 seconds. You shoot off a long flat stretch, then you go practically straight up and down with a twist, followed by more loops and stuff! RKASXISKJHGKVFRSXZFCGVBNBWIN 8D
Got some neato Hershey Kisses that won't be sold anywhere else but Hershey until Halloween! Pumpkin Spice, Caramel Apple, and Candy Corn!

8D I'm so happy. I have so much to do this summer, like hang out with friends, have cookouts, go hiking, finish video games, draw more, and work. Mostly work, though. xD

So I pretty much aced my first year of college. I mean, I worked hard and all, it's not like I just breezed by. But I got some good grades, and I'm proud of myself.
Dear god, that 15-20 page paper I had to do...That thing owned my soul for the last couple weeks of school. It was 50% of the final grade in that class! When I wasn't working on it, I was thinking about how I could make it longer without making it 'wordy', or worrying if I was using too many quotes and not enough paraphrasing (Apparently that can be counted as plagarism. Not much with me. Well, maybe that's not entirely true...

Mmk, news update. Several weeks ago I got faculty nomiated as one of the top six art students up for a $500 award. Only two will get it. I had my interview yesterday, and I don't think it went too horribly. It wasn't a disaster, like my Art Allstate interview several years ago...*shudder* The pieces I showed them were alright I guess. I just hope they were impressive enough. :< I don't know when I'll find out if I got it or not.


ALSO! I still have not been trained in the slides library, even though I was hired to do so shortly after Christmas vacation. So I only work like...maybe 3 hours a week if I'm lucky. So I'm like, really poor. I signed up for some of the extended hours shifts at the library later this month, so that'll help a bit.


Schoolwork is pilin' on and finals are comin' up fast. I will attempt to summon up enough fortitude to survive!

So, I'm like, 19 and stuff. Which is cool, if a bit weird. I got to go home the weekend of my birthday. Mom made me a super special awesome dinner, and we had creme brulee for desert! It was soooo good. It was also very rich, and gave me an upset stomache later. )8 Oh well. Worth it.

I been super lazy with the submissions since I got back from France, but I got some stuff in the works. Like, 5 unfinished things. So, as soon as I get offa my lazy butt long enough, I'll have some new stuff up. Promise.

In other news, I bought the rest of my books using my BECA acccount, which is like a charge-kinda ting, only they use whatever financial aid you got left over to cover it later. If there isn't any more financial aid, they bill you at the end of the year. So yeah. I has all mah books.

What an amazing vatation. I mean, SRSLY. I saw all the sites, y'know, the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, The Opera Garnier, Sacre Couer, Napoleon's Tomb, and so on!
I cruised the river Seine, explored the Louvre, climbed more steps than I want to remember, and loved every second of it.

.....Complaining mostly aside, this is my senior year. Which scares the crap outta me, because I don't really want to be done with high school. I like it, weirdly enough. I don't want to lose touch with the good friends I've made here when I go off to college. Plus, I'm gonna have to go through this whole big financial thing to even GET into college, because with 5 siblings, my parent's didn't exactly put away a college fund. It just wasn't practical.

.....Anyways, complaining COMPLETALLY aside, I have the easiest schedual I've ever had.
---First period, I have Creative Workshop, the L337-est art class in the school. It's a portfolio-building class, for those that wish to go to college for art. Which I do. I gonna focus on painting first quarter, methinks.
---Second period, I have Crafts. I don't even have to leave the art room. Gonna be doin' cool things, like bookmaking, working with polymer clay, beadmaking, some metalwoking and the like. Cool.
---Third period, I got Math. "Senior Seminar in Math Topics", to be precise. Boring as Heck, as far as I can tell, but I need the class. Bah. assigned seats. >.>; Next semester I've got "Numbers and Statistics". Whee.
---Fourth period is English! First semester is "Memoirs and Creative Nonfiction", with a pretty cool teacher. It'll be fun. Plus, two of my best friends are in the class. Second semester I've got "Myth, Folk and Legend", with the same two buddies in it. I -HEART- mythology, so that'll be fun.
---Fith and sixth, I gots no classes. I can do whatever I want. I can even leave, as long as I'm back by seventh period.
