We have a
great staff and many wonderful customers who are becoming
frinds and extended family.

To top everuthing off...I'M PREGNANT! That's right, after all these years (my son just turned 16 on Sept 1st) I'm having another baby. My due date is Dec 23. We have about 8 weeks to go now. It's another boy, James Harrison Bell. This is a lot harder at 43 than it was at 27...lol.

Life is good. Marriage is wonderful. Time is limited.

I don't know when I'll find time to check in here again, but know that
I miss you all and think of you often.

Much love,
Heidi

Ok, it's time to brag a little. I have to tell you about this wonderful man of mine and what a lucky woman I am to have him in my life.

Ric is a karaoke host. He works nights while I work days. This isn't necessarily an ideal arrangement for alone time, but we manage. Anyway...this week, while I've worked my ass off at the office (shoving 5 days worth of work into 3), this incredible man of mine has scrubbed our house from top to bottom getting ready for our Thanksgiving guests. He has dusted everything, cleaned all the ceiling fans, he's moved all the furniture and vacuumed under it, cleaned both bathrooms, cleaned up the backyard, he was even washing windows when I got home yesterday. Today he chopped all my veggies for tomorrow, finished the tile in the kitchen, stripped the beds and washed the sheets and comforters, vacuumed AGAIN, and is doing a show tonight.

I feel terribly guilty about all the work he's done, but he said I didn't have time with everything else I have to do and working. He said he "wants our house to be tip top for my girl and her friends on our first Thanksgiving together."

All this on top of a sick "wife" and a little one with a bad ear infection. He's a prince among men and the king of my heart. I truly am a very lucky woman.

It's been another busy weekend of redecorating. T has been asking for pics of some of the work I've done, so I've posted a few in scraps. I'll be starting on my son's bedroom this week. He's chosen two shades of green for his paint and my dad and I will be laying wood laminate flooring next weekend. Brent will be painting the kitchen and laundry room so that I can then lay the vinyl.

After that, all that's left is the guest bedroom to paint and new furniture (don't worry V, you'll have a place to sleep when you're here), and the living room to paint and furnish.

I hope to have it all done by my birthday March 31st. If not, it will certainly be finished by the time T and V come April 7th.

Love to all,

The house is mine and the redecorating is under way. So far, both bathrooms, the den and the dining room are painted and basically finished. I have also laid new vinyl in both bathrooms BY MYSELF!!! I'm very proud of myself for that. The master bedroom has been gutted and the painting begun. That has to be finished before Friday, when my dad and I will lay hardwood flooring. Next weekend I'll be moving my bedroom to the master bedroom and gutting what is now my room in preparation for paint and hardwood floors. Robbie will be moving in there and has changed his mind from blood red to dark blue and now to bright green paint...lol. Red has been a godsend for all his hard work too.

On the job front, I got the new job. I got a call today that the offer letter is being prepared and was to be mailed today. It's a little more money and they are still trying to work out whether I get an office at home or get squeezed into our already crowded branch. There really isn't room for me there once the new secretary is hired.

Everything is falling into place. I should have the redecorating completed and the new furniture bought by the time Theresa comes to visit. I'm so excited for her and Vanessa to get here. I'm taking the whole week off to show them the sights in and around Tucson. We will most likely spend a day in historic Tombstone, one at the Desert Museum (I hope the cactus are blooming then), and plenty of time taking photos and having fun. Any volunteers for standby bail money? We haven't needed it yet, but you never can tell...lol.

Thanks for all the good wishes and crossed fingers.

Much Love,

As of 2 PM today, I am officially a homeowner! I finally closed on the house. The redecorating is in progress. I've got the den and both bathrooms painted. This weekend, I'll get the dining room and kitchen done. That leaves the living room and the three bedrooms to paint and hardwood floors in the master bedroom and Robbie's bedroom. He's moving into my old room. Then the fun stuff...buying new furniture.

Things with Brent are going great. He's been a huge help with all the painting and such.

As for the new job, I should be hearing something definite next week. My boss seems to think it will be mine, but I'm holding back until I hear for sure. Keep your fingers crossed for me and I'll let you all know as soon as I hear.

Ok, Gang. Bear with me now. After a week of deliberation, many apologies and promises offered, and some serious soul searching, I have decided to give Brent another chance. Things will be moving at a much slower pace than before. He knows he has a lot of work to do to regain my trust, but the fact remains that I love him. I owe it to MYSELF to give things another shot. If things go as I hope, I'll be happy and have a strong and loving family to enjoy. If not, I'll find out before I'm too far committed to make a clean break.

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers and please forgive my emotional roller coaster.

In other news, I'm buying my house from my mom. Things are moving along well and, hopefully, we'll close by mid February.

I am also in the running for a new position within the company I work for. This job will be a significant increase in income and allow me to work from my house. After 16 years of working in a branch, it will be a nice change for me. Keep your fingers crossed for me and I'll keep you updated as things progress.
Love to you all.

I'm home from my latest visit with the beautiful :icon seductivebyatch: We had a great time. I did a lot of shopping and we partied two of the three nights I was there.

We didn't even come close to getting arrested (thanks for having bail ready, Darlane).

My boys came up from San Diego on Friday night. It's always good to see them. The DJ at the Royal Room remembered me from my last visit in February. He's a very good looking cowboy (just the kind I like) and will be coming through Tucson in a month or so. He got my phone number and said he'd call when he hit town...we'll see.

For those who read my last little ditty, I delivered the "special gift" to Ryan...he was a bit taken aback, but was very attentive the rest of the night.

T took some pics of me before I left so we'll have something posted soon.

Next time, she has to come here. She now owes me TWO visits.

As I'm sure you've noticed, I've taken a turn toward writing rather that photography. I've always liked writing, especially the racey style I've been indulging in of late. The ultra sexy =SeductiveByatch encouraged me to post my "stories" here and they seem to be well received.

They have also led me to find a very talented writer who is new to DA. I love his work and even those topics that are not quite to my taste have been found fascinating by me.
Don't forget to leave a comment that says "you are tagged" in their devpage comments and tell them to read yours....
1. I talk to people who aren't there...sometimes it's easier to express myself that way.

What a great weekend!!! Wonderful friends, Fantastic MUSIC, fresh air and sunshine galore! This festival had to be what the songwriter had in mind when he wrote "just country boys and girls gettin' down on the farm" (a song recorded by Tim McGraw). Four days, a huge double stage, amazing country artists, both new and A-list, beer flowing like a river, hot cowboys, beautiful girls...all taking place out in an emmence hay field. There were at least 100,000 people there Saturday to see Brooks & Dunn close this event.

I sang on Friday. The stage was so big, it felt like walking into a cathedral. The sound was amazing, the crowd was friendly and receptive. I gave one of the best performances of my life. It felt so good!!! I didn't even mind not winning the tickets for next year. As a matter of fact, between thed tickets I won for this year and the incredible experience of singing on that stage to that huge crowd (it was before noon on Friday and the crowd was several thousand strong already) I was already a winner. I sang on the same stage as Big & Rich, Phil Vasser, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Trick Pony, Keith Anderson, Randy Travis and Brooks & Dunn and some other newer acts...ok, so they weren't on the stage when I was, but I stood in the same spot and sang on the same microphone as these fabulous performers!!!! I'm taking the bragging rights!

I have a new band to add to my favorites list...COWBOY CRUSH! This is an all girl group with lots of talent, attitude and energy. Their music is very much for the female listener, just like Gretchen Wilson's, but the guys liked them too. Do yourselves the favor of checking them out.

I took a lot of pics of the crowd and the venue, our friends at their campground where we partied the night away...Robbie took some of me onstage, but he didn't know how to use the zoom so I'll see what I can get there. I'll post to share my experience with all of my DA friends in the next couple of days.

Note to Darlane: Your boy Harry Luge is HOT!!! and talented. I didn't get to talk to him for you though.

Rain

It’s hard to listen to a hard hard heart
Beating close to mine
Pounding up against the stone and steel
Walls that I won’t climb
Sometimes a hurt is so deep deep deep
You think that you’re gonna drown
Sometimes all I can do is weep weep weep
With all this rain falling down

Strange how hard it rains now
Rows and rows of big dark clouds
When I’m holding on underneath this shroud
Rain

Its hard to know when to give up the fight
Two things you want will just never be right
Its never rained like it has to night before
Now I don’t wanna beg you baby
For something maybe you could never give
I’m not looking for the rest of your life
I just want another chance to live

Strange how hard it rains now
Rows and rows of big dark clouds
When I’m holding on underneath this shroud
Rain

Strange how hard it rains now
Rows and rows of big dark clouds
When I’m holding on underneath this shroud
Rain
Strange how hard it rains now
Rows and rows of big dark clouds
When I’m still alive underneath this shroud

Friday was my birthday...I hit the BIG 4-0. Some people get depressed when they reach this mileston, but I have been looking forward to it. After all, Life Begins At 40, right?
My day started off with a school fieldtrip. My son's school went to the ballet, The Princess and The Pea. This was my first time to go to a ballet...not a bad way to start a new life. After the performance, it was lunch and playtime in the park for a couple of hours and then back to school.
My parents took my son to the cabin for the weekend so I was free to party and play with my friends. Two of my nearest and dearest came all the was from San Diego to spend the weekend with me and to celebrate my special day. They arrived about 7 pm Friday evening and took me out for dinner and a bit of revelry.
Saturday morning I made their favorite breakfast of biscuits and gravy...they only get this when I cook for them...God forbid they should learn to make it for themselves. I then spent the afternoon preparing for a small dinner party with friends at my house...good food, great company.

Then the BIG BASH!!! Party at Al J's!! People I only see about once or twice a year came to the party to wish me a happy birthday. All my closest friends were there...except Theresa, who couldn't make it out from LA...missed you, Baby. Donnette, my best friend, made my cake as she does every year. I drank WAY TOO MUCH! It was so much fun.

I took a lot of photos and am posting several here today. These are not meant to be artful, they are intended only to share my celebration with my DA friends.

Love to all,

There is an annual country music festival held near Tucson each year. This festival lasts 5 days and is like the Woodstock of country music. I went once about 10 years ago. Passes for the 5 day extravaganza are around $160 each.

Tonight, at the urging of a friend who owns a bar I freqauent and the bribe of sexual favors from my new playmate, I entered a karaoke contest. I hate contests...I never win. First prize was 2 passes to Country Thunder and the opportunity to sing on stage. I WON!!!!

The best part is that I get to take my little redneck son to see his favorite comedian, Larry the Cable Guy...Git-R-Done!!

Now I have to sweet talk my boss into giving me next Friday off. I have to check in by 10:30 AM Friday to sing and meet the artists. My son will be in Heaven if he gets to actually meet Larry.

I received this in an e-mail today and found it to be most appropriate for those of us who enjoy DA.....

Listening to: One Bud Weiser by Gretchen Wilson

"So you want to be more creative, in art, in business, whatever. Here are some tips that have worked over the years:

1. Ignore everybody.

2. The idea doesn't have to be big. It just has to change the world.

3. Put the hours in.

4. If your biz plan depends on you suddenly being "discovered" by some big shot, your plan will probably fail.

5. You are responsible for your own experience.

6. Everyone is born creative; everyone is given a box of crayons in kindergarten.

7. Keep your day job.

8. Companies that squelch creativity can no longer compete with companies that champion creativity.

9. Everybody has their own private Mount Everest they were put on this earth to climb.

10. The more talented somebody is, the less they need the props.

11. Don't try to stand out from the crowd; avoid crowds altogether.

12. If you accept the pain, it cannot hurt you.

13. Never compare your inside with somebody else's outside.

14. Dying young is overrated.

15. The most important thing a creative person can learn professionally is where to draw the red line that separates what you are willing to do, and what you are not.

16. The world is changing.

17. Merit can be bought. Passion can't.

18. Avoid the Watercooler Gang.

19. Sing in your own voice.

20. The choice of media is irrelevant.

21. Selling out is harder than it looks.

22. Nobody cares. Do it for yourself.

23. Worrying about "Commercial vs. Artistic" is a complete waste of time.

24. Don’t worry about finding inspiration. It comes eventually.

25. You have to find your own schtick.

26. Write from the heart.

27. The best way to get approval is not to need it.

28. Power is never given. Power is taken.

29. Whatever choice you make, The Devil gets his due eventually.

30. The hardest part of being creative is getting used to it."

Theresa was her for New Year's weekend and we did a lot of picture taking with my new camera. As soon as the edits are finished, they will be available for your perusal and commentary.
Thanks for your support.
