Please go see this movie.

The guys who made Clone High wrote and directed it and you can tell. It's hilarious, cartoony, unique, and fun all the way through. If you like funny cartoons, go see this movie. I want more things like this to happen in animation. I want these guys to be able to make whatever they want. I want the world to know that it doesn't ALWAYS have to be a Pixar movie. Nothing against Pixar movies, it's just time for another style of animated film to matter. Ignore the mediocre trailers. Nobody knows how to make trailers anymore. You saw what they made Kung Fu Panda look like. Been waiting for a hilarious animated movie? Here it is. Go see it opening weekend, and then tell your friends, dammit.

So, while the general feeling I get from you is generally positive, it sounds like you guys find it too random for its own good. This leaves me at a crossroads: The way it is now is so much fun to write and draw, but I don't want to leave my audience in the dust. My question to you: How can I keep this strip insane and yet not lose the audience? Some have suggested that they'd accept the weird as long as it lead up to a more worthwhile punch line. Would that work for the rest of you?

Just gathering opinions. I want to find the line between pleasing everyone else and pleasing myself.

So, my favorite television cartoon of all time is "The Shnookums and Meat Funny Cartoon Show". It aired only on Mondays on The Disney Afternoon in the mid 90s. I taped the full run of it off television back when it ran and I've transferred it to DVD, but the picture quality is awful. This was taped off of non-cable television, and it doesn't look good. Does anyone out there have a better copy of this than I do? Youtube doesn't have much, and there don't seem to be any torrents, but someone MUST have this, right?

Ok, to clarify the Darkblade poll...

First of all, "Darkblade the Wanderer" was/is an alternate universe spin-off with Darkblade as the protagonist. Here's a linup I posted last year:

I'm planning on switching Dark Blade of Fire over to the Darkblade the Wanderer design seen above and basically making them the same guy instead of an "alternate universe" situation.

Here's some copypasta to explain what I'm thinking of:

"What I'm thinking of maybe doing is making it apparent as the show progresses that MooBeard and Darkblade are nearly the same thing: One's a kid playing pirate, the other is a kid playing ninja, and both are really treasure hunters more than anything else. Plus, this would fit in well with my plan of eventually having Weez leave and become the villain and have Darkblade become a crew member."

Plus, I can bring Bronson Jeopardous in to annoy both of them this way!

Oh, and as for Ungus, I was thinking of him as Darkblade's sidekick at one point, but now I'm thinking of having him be this on-and-off sidekick that comes and goes as he pleases. He's kind of the series' Great Cornholio.

A few times a year, I'll catch wind of a storyboarding position opening on a show and I'll try out for it. I've failed every time, for the most part. I figured since the sample is from an episode that has already aired, I'd show off my latest. I mean, I spend hours working on these things and nobody ever sees them, so I figure, I might as well show them to you guys.

Unlike usual, as I finished pages, I showed them to someone I know who storyboards for the show. I don't know if they want to be named, so I won't. They really went out of their way to advise me and help me out, even drawing a lot of stuff to show me different concepts that the director likes. Big ups to them for going above and beyond the call of duty to help me. Sadly, it wasn't enough. The reason given in the rejection email was that it didn't match the style of the show. In a way, I feel like I failed the friend that helped, but I'm trying not to think about it that way.

Ok, so the folks at Funny or Die gave MooBeard composer Andy Paley a 6 minute clip of Will Ferrell wandering around with a baseball bat in his hand improvising a song called "Bat Fight" off the top of his head.
