        <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ BronyCAN is a Canadian pony convention being held on August 24-25 in Richmond, British Columbia. That's on the west coast, very close to Vancouver and 2.5 hours north from Seattle, Washington.<br /><br />Guests announced so far include Tabitha St. Germain and Lee Tockar. There will be a concert featuring Silva Hound, DJ Midli, Fen Pony, Donn DeVore, BeamPegasu5 and Brony Beamshows.<br /><br />I know that a bunch of my friends are going to this one. The staff includes Firestorm-CAN, who has been lead vector colorist on all my Pony work recently, after Dentist73548 stepped down from the position late last year.<br /><br />They've just opened for vendor registration, so arti ]]></media:text>

It is missing music, the HD material is not yet cleaned up [except for the opening], and color correction and other aspects are not yet final. We lost power for five days. I went to stay with family who didn't have power or heat (or a real bed for me), and some of their friends didn't have running water. I made it through, but I'm feeling sick and battered right now.<br /><br />I was already in a very tough financial spot before losing a work week to the hurricane. I'm also in a bad living situation, with housemates who are currently bullying me to get me to move away, something I would do gladly if I even had the rent for this month. Both the American and UK DVDs of Dog City cut out over 10 minutes of material with Kermit and the MuppetTelevision crew, and the US DVD has very bad audio. The Japanese laserdisc contains the entire uncut Jim Henson Hour episode, although it's dubbed into Japanese! The same company issued Monster Maker (now on Netflix!) and was planning to issue Secrets of The Muppets and Living With Dinosaurs among others, but never got round to it. If it's a pony, it's very likely to be vectored and colored by the very talented Dentist73548 or another vector artist. If it's a human or other complex character, that's probably what I do best.<br /><br />I put a lot of thought, time and effort into these, as much as anything I do for myself. I'd like to think that's all we have in common.<br /><br />I graduated USC Film School in 2004, leaving with perhaps 150 thousand dollars in debt. I didn't like the school and certainly didn't like Los Angeles, but I'd directed a few features and graduated from the top film school in the country. There was a certain expectation that I could get a job in the film industry and pay back some of that debt.<br /><br />I never figured out how to get that film industry job, or a steady job period. But I needed money urgently to pay rent.<br /><br />I believed that I'd be running out of money within the next month or two, but on the 1st I found out that my unemployment checks had already stopped coming two weeks earlier, and that I had nothing. This was very sudden, and I was unprepared for it.<br /><br />I hoped that I could get enough commissions from strangers over the internet to pay rent on the 11th.<br /><br />What I got instead was commissions from friends.
