Mendengar kata-katanya, hero teringat pula kepada situasi yang biasa dihadapinya. Karyanya walaupun sudah difikirkan cukup elok, ada saja yang tidak kena. Ubah sana dan ubah sini. Hanya ketekunan dan kesabaran menggantikan kudrat yang sudah hilang untuk membaiki karyanya itu.

Maka benarlah kata pendeta, dalam mana-mana bidang pun, siapa yang memegang emaslah yang mempunyai kata putus. Walaupun pengkarya menghabiskan banyak sumbernya untuk menghasilkan satu karya, namun akhirnya ia perlu akur kepada kehendak pemegang emas.

Mungkin ayat tadi tidak berapa tepat, tapi bagi hero, asalkan ia tidak melencong dari landasan asalnya dan masih mencapai tujuannya, pengkarya boleh akur kepada pemegang emas. Janganlah menjadi hamba kepada emas, walaupun kadang kala keadaan memaksa.

Karya juga adalah satu benda bernilai, yang sukar dinilai berbanding emas!

Finally uploaded my very own 24 Hour Comic, which was held as Cineleisure Damansara, Kuala Lumpur, MY last week. After gone through cramps, exhaustions and sudden lost of ideas, I finally finished my comic in 22 hours...whew!

I tried to experiment some unexplored elements in this comic and also I tried very hard just to feel the story & characters and keep it all spontaneous. With minimum planning and leaving the ideas flow. Of course, thats only possible for the first 14 hours...after that is where the tension starts...

- SKK2 novel + comic, i have to do the book cover,chapter cover also.even the dialogs n everything have to put in place before submitting (usually i leave it to graphic artist). i hope i can finish off before this end of month..what, already 9th!

- some assignments from my tutor.right now it is quite easy,but his comments on my works is rather..sharp to the heart..owh..! i have to bear my ear when he comments..

this month i'll try to refine my observation skill.my tutor told me that i lack patience in observing the subject thus makes my works e.g. portrait look kinda sucks.

now i'm going to find and assemble (is that the right word?) my studio back. reinstall my tablet, adjusting the broken printer, somehow tweaking my old PC so it can run at least Photoshop 6, find where all my g-pen gone. to buy is out of topic..becoz im not starting from a scratch now..just collecting pieces that i left behind..and i miss it very much..

so what that's all about? well i submitted my latest work last week to my boss at his office, but he just flipped thru and keep it in his bag. well, that's not his style, he usually commented or just point out some mistakes (or improvements..yeay!) of my work. but not this time.

than after a long chat with him, i managed to divert the topic to my latest work. with a long face he said... " u r not concentrating on your work this time, u just rush for the deadline and put aside the quality, i wished to see some improvement after ur last submission, but then, i get a very degrading work from u, maybe u r busy with ur new job, but u must improve somehow.. if u want to success in this field..."

after a long thought (and comparing my work with others), i soon realize he is right. i kinda lost my way now. so in order to make some improvement, i requested a 2 months break of submission, probably i will start again next year. then he ask why need a break?

well for being honest, i don't really like the outcome of my comic in this mag. the graphic department make some... oh well sto0pid adjustment and make my comic lo0ks pretty retarded. yeah i admit i'm suck too coz i'm leaving a lot of blank spaces (it was for the dialog box, but somehow they put the box elsewhere T_T), but couldn't he or she just leave it as it is. i'm quite irritated seeing those stupid gradient effects and bevel/emboss (WE DON'T EMBOSS THE COMIC PANEL DAMMIT!) on my comic... and also on other comics in that mag

if given a chance i would like to brake the grephic person's a rib or two.. damn...

just listing things that i really want to master, but till now, i only managed to the intermediate level..
- Photoshop.. with the release of CS version, i felt..whaa.. so many new things to learn from scratch. that's why i prefer PS 6, but i will miss the new cool features.. dammit..
- Illustrator.. first i thought it just the same as PS, so i neglected it, then one day, i tried to explore it, the more i do it, the more things i felt very unfamilliar with. oh well, down to beginners level...
- AutoCAD.. things from my profesion, but i suck at this. wonder if they could design from my PS raster drawings
- Figure drawing .. since i never got a formal art guide, it's kinda hard to learn it from the net. hope i can improve it here (hey, that's what DA is all about right?)
- Php.. essential for setting up a webcomic. but until now all i know is downloading the scripts..heh silly me.

wow.. that's pretty long list. oh well, gotta go watch Star Wars animated series, from the makers of Samurai Jack. quite cool, less talk, more Sabre Fights.. yeaaahh! .. now i got some time to progress my project. first, 'sang petanda', i'm going to start sketching the main characters, and on sunday i'll get the script from wanzu [yeah, going to beraya at his house too!]. 2nd project is Zinnirah, more to a text illustration rather than comic, collaboration work with a pergh/alwan forum member. 3rd is doing some coloring with skynet. yeah hope everything goes well for these projects.

some thoughts about presentation:
like my tutor said (althought many people disagree with him, but i personally some of his points) to present an idea of engineering field, u can do 2 things, to make the presentation as simple and easy as possible, or u can make it complex as possible, both ways you can prevent the q's from audience. if u fall into the middle category, then prepare to be drowned by flood of questions. well that's just theory (or a joke?) from an experienced talkperson. feel free to comment his view.

my presentation, well like others, fell almost into the 2nd category. well it's not very complex, but i think i've been too nervous a spoiled the details of my report. but the lecturers seem to be happy when i brought some site samples to them (some geogrids and some site progress pics). dunno how they rate me (think i'm goin to meet kak cha tomorrow lah)
