in the mean time, i've realised that in the year or so with not much drawing that ive lost alot of my skill. damn distractions and boyfriends. kinda makes me sad, but i also realise that in order to keep up such a skill i have to be drawing constantly.

HELP MEE!! ]]> ~undergroundpyro http://undergroundpyro.deviantart.com/journal/7692579/ http://undergroundpyro.deviantart.com/journal/7692579/ Tue, 24 Jan 2006 07:31:24 PST my friend chris started a clay sculpture a last friday and decided to make it a collaberation between the two of us. about halfway through the class period chris got bored and basicly left the sculpting to me, telling me his ideas and making suggestions on how he wanted it. his original idea was a garden gnome pushing a wheelbarrow.
by the end of the class period it had gone from a garden gnome pushing a wheel barrow to a drunken pantless christmas elf puking into a chimney. the drunken part was the only explanation we could come up with for why he had no pants and wtf he was doing kneeling/bending over a chimney.
yesterday we improved it by making the chimney a bowl that looks alot like a toilet bowl, and (due to the fact that we were going to give the gnome to chris's mom) had to give him pants.
ill upload the pics of it tonight, including the updates from yesterday.


in other news today, i got my friend lifelongfall to get a deviant art account. he does alot of photomanipulation, and at the moment only has one pic up but im going to bug him till he gets more posted. btw that pic hes got up there is me. whaha.

replacing those scales was a bit of a problem, considering i STARTED overlaping the scales from the tail. replacing those scales took me an entire day (3 hours non stop) and was NOT fun.
i dont like the tail nearly as much as i did before because on the outer side of the bent tail is rather flat in one area and then gets lumpy/swollen. it cant be helped unless i want to remove ALL the scales and start over completely. oh well.

now i have no idea what colors i want this fish.
i kiinda want to do orange/yelllow/red/gold, but am not sure how i would pattern them. also when it comes to mixing those colors, alot of the time they dont blend well enough and end up looking really horrid.
i was also thinking of combining blues and greens, but im afraid they wont stand out enough against the waves.

ahh desicions desicions!

!! Any suggestions would be fantastic!!

im also nervous about glazing because i dont have any time to do sample tests of the glazes big is getting for me.

my biggest fear at this point is the unanswered question: will this massive piece fit inside the kiln??
this may prove to be a problem..

so, as soon as this thing is in the kiln i will be working on a new sculpture of an octopus. i hope it turns out well.

because of the fact that i am on crutches,

3. ramps
4 stupid moronic insensitive people at the mall who have no respect for cripples on crutches.

right now my right foot looks like a rainbow got drunk, barfed on it and then beat it to death. quite nasty.
the strange thing is that it really doesnt hurt.it mostly just tingles like its asleep or something(unless i attempt to put weight on it)

i am taking two 200mg of motrin 3 times a day to help with the swelling, but i do not have a cast on it as of yet. i may get a brace because they dont set casts for heel bone injuries.

anyways, what hurts is the rest of my body. my arms and ribs are killing me from overusing muscles for the crutches. my left leg is dying from supporting 90% of my body weight, and my abbs hurt. i have no idea why my abs hurt, but they just do.

anyways, the dragon commission im working on for Redds is now drawn and inked. i still need to erase some lines and color it but its pretty close to being done. i shall scan it later on today so you all may see the work in progress. hopefully Redds will like it. it has 2 dragons instead of just one .
