In more serious news, Tafe is finishing up in a couple weeks time. I've been madly getting things for it done, and once I get my showreel DVD set up tomorrow, I'll look at posting some stuff up here and on YouTube.

Also, I should have posted all of Squirrel Angels Chapter 2 by now... except there's a big problem. Y'see, when I drew out the final page, I had a nice little speech in my head, and I drew the pictures to that. Only problem was I DIDN'T WRITE IT DOWN. So I've forgotten the nice speech and am now left staring at my screen going WHAT WAS I THINKING HERE TO PUT ALONGSIDE THAT PICTURE? And since said speech is across two pages, the second-last page has been caught up in the problem too, despite having only ONE LINE.
GAH.
Anyway, I was thinking of asking for help, seeing as I've hit a creative block, but you guys can't help without visuals... and would anyone even WANT to help? It's been several months since I dropped by, so I'll be surprised if people are still paying attention to me.

So that's the reason I've been effectively MIA for the past two months.
I don't remember if I told you guys, but my class was kicked up a semester in my TAFE course, and we have a big project now to do a short film. This is especially hard on Jacque and me because we haven't done any organic character modelling or animation before, whereas the others all did it last year.
My film is called "The Prank War", and is about a human girl Torch and her pet dog Spiffy, who is always pulling pranks on her. I took a few shortcuts in the design by delibrately going very cartoony and using as many simple shapes as possible... I also made Torch entirely out of boxes, cones and cylinders, taking a massive shortcut in the usual 'everything must be attached together in the one mesh' thing the book I'm using as a guide says. Unfortunately, I can't take such shortcuts with Spiffy, so only his head is seperate and his body is one big, hard-to-model editable poly with a symmetry modifier.

Yeah, none of you have ever touched 3D modelling before, haven't you? I just effectively spoke gibberish.
Anyway, I've got Torch done. I'll take a few shots of her, maybe a short animation in my spare time, and put it up either here or on YouTube. Once Spiffy or the set, whichever comes first, is complete, I'll do the same with them. That way you all know I'm not just slacking off! My page of sketches for their designs should be going up soon, complete with sketches of how the film should go!

Um... I keep forgetting I've got stuff to put up. I get distracted easily, I suppose. Like the dog sleeping beside me on my bed, looking oh so adorabubble! He seems to spend all his time in here when Mum's out, sucking up to me and sulking that he wasn't allowed to go out. I keep having to go out too, though, so I don't know where he goes then. Gah. I think today is my first completely free day in, like, a week.
Oops, got distracted again.
For future referance for myself, I have those H&W stuff I want to put up, and I gotta remember to continue the RS4 stuff. Lotsa stuff. I'll go put up something now.

SBCG4AP rocks! "Time to tear up another day, the Strong Bad freakin' way!" *rocks out* Just finished the third episode half-an-hour ago.

The DS version of 'Viva Pinata' doesn't really seem any different so far to Brother's Xbox demo... apart from the heavy tie-ins to some random TV-show I didn't know existed until I had random clips being shoved in my face every three seconds by the game tutorial... o.o And THE STUPID GAME NEVER TOLD ME HOW TO SAVE. *glare* Not my favourite game. Can you tell?

Gonna try out "De Blob" and "Animal Crossing: City" tomorrow. By the way, what's with the horrendously long name on "Animal Crossing: Let's Go to the City"? I'm just cutting out the unnecessary "Let's Go to the" from now on.
Plus I'd never heard of "Boom Blox" before getting it, although Brother assured me he's told me about it before, cuz Spielberg made it apparently. "Zack & Wiki" I remembered, although I'd forgotten Brother mentioning it was similar to Zelda. Oh well. Lookin' forward to tryin' that one too.

Surely you've also been paying enough attention to notice I uploaded the very-final-last-ultimate-never-gonna-see-anymore-ending-finale comic to Random Squirrel 3. I don't really know why I left it so long... I guess I just forgot about it. And if you read the description, you'll have noticed I mentioned it was the last ever and you'll never see any more of RS3.
BUT THAT'S NOT THE END OF RANDOM SQUIRREL!
Sure, RS3 is ending, but only to make room for its sequel-remake-reboot; Random Squirrel 4!
Thanks to the whole 'dying laptop' saga though, the first 14 will be in a radically different style than the one I'm starting now, which is number 15. I have a few other things I drew to get this new style right, which I'll be putting up soon. They're stuff related to Horns and Wings, which I was getting geared up to continue when Inspiri died.

Anyway, even if you don't celebrate Christmas, have a good day guys!
Yesterday, we had a Christmas Eve service at church, and Father Tom was telling us about the christian links to some traditional Christmas stuff. The tree, for example, came from an Irish priest in Germany. The people there worshipped oak trees, so he used the triangular and evergreen fir tree to illustrate his point about the Trinity. He was killed for his efforts, but the idea stuck and invaded Britian with Prince Albert when he married Queen Victoria. He also talked about Santa, which, having lived in the Netherlands for seven years, we knew ALL about! He kept double-checking the pronunciation of the Dutch words with us, but gave up when he got to Zwarte Piet and just asked Other Brother to say it for him.

Apologies I couldn't get a Christmas picture this year. I did try to draw one, but the STUPID HANDS just wouldn't look right no matter how hard I tried, and it was a measly effort anyway, so I gave up. Shame too, cuz I really liked the face I drew. I stuffed up the glasses, but it turned out alright. Maybe I'll put it in scraps later.

I'll talk more another time. Happy Christmas everyone!

After two hours of waiting for Inspiri to sort the problem out on her own, I finally give up and go running to Dad. Turns out the hard-drive's dead. Inspiri is now fully, properly and completely unusable. Luckily, everything on her from 8:20 the previous night was backed up on the main computer, so I haven't lost anything except the actual laptop.
I guess it was just a ticking time-bomb after her screen died a few months ago. Three years is a good age anyway.

For the moment, I've borrowed one of Dad's laptops, so I'm still around. We've (finally) ordered a new laptop for me (I'll have to think on a name and personification for him/her. ) which should appear in about a fortnight. Until then, I do not have my usual programs (i.e. Gimp, basically), even though I have all my files copied over to this lappy, so no progress on pictures until I can download them again.

I'll post again once the new lappy's sitting on my desk.

That was awesome. I made the guy, who's in a suit, do a backflip, then a cartwheel and then bow to a make-shift cactus I had fun putting together. We had fun thinking up reasons why this guy was in a desert doing gymnastics. Also, plans for our short film project are underway, and, surprisingly, everyone chose my script to do because it was only four pages and one scene long. And Kat said I had good dialogue. Yet another thing people praise me on that I can't see!

Yeah, so the reason I'm putting this here is because all this work is why I'm not here very often at the moment. On top of my usual lurker-ness.

Had immense fun at a sleepover/Murder Mystery Party last night. Laura and I stayed up till 3:30 watching classic Doctor Who. IT WAS AWESOME. AND THAT'S AN UNDERSTATEMENT.

Squirrel Angels chapter 2 is almost finished! I've got two more pages to draw, a page to scan in, a page to colour and maybe a couple waiting to be uploaded. Then I can go back to Horns and Wings! Although I'll always hate having to leave a comic on hiatus just as I've gotten into the story again. Oh well, HaW is a cool story like SA. I would like to revisit Vel and Peg, although not without practising my horses again first. I didn't practise my squirrels before returning to SA last, and it really showed.

For the short term, we've decided we'll have to get a spare monitor from somewhere and set it up in my room. Presumably in the long term we'll eventually get a replacement. Whether it'll be a new lappy or a big full computer I don't know. I guess we'll talk about that once it gets back.
At least this means I'll have full internet access again relatively soon, as well as access to GIMP and all my pictures. My little three-year-old lappy can last a little longer!

I've been spending some of my days playing one of Dad's DS games, Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. I've already finished the story, and it was an awesome game! My favourite bit was the cutscene of when Link gets the Phantom Sword and Oshus is being so mean to him! It was hilarious!

One of my classmates from TAFE, Laura, has been lending me various anime movies over the past few weeks. So far I've seen Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle and Whisper of the Heart, and today I've got Princess Mononoke to watch. Of course, Sisterling has various anime stuff from her friends too, so we've been watching Fruits Basket and the ending-less movie Porco Rocco. So life isn't too boring without my lappy.

So yet again, life interferes and completely ruins my plans. A few days ago, I was reading something on the internet when my screen suddenly died. I thought the laptop had randomly gone into standby, so I closed the lid and opened it again to bring it out and it seemed to work. However, the problem didn't go away. By the third time it'd happened, I'd noticed that the computer wasn't going into standby, only darkening the screen so much it was as good as off. I had to hand the problem over to Dad, and after he'd looked at it (being forced to use the monitor from his own computer because mine kept dieing), he said it couldn't be a software problem and was thus a hardware problem.
Damn you, Inspiri! D:<
Because of this, my laptop is thus out of commission, along with ALL my pictures, GIMP, my stories, my plannings, my calendar, etcetera etcetera. >.> I'm also now having to share the big computer with my brothers and whoever else needs to use its scanner or programs at any point. So I'll be as good as banned from the internet for the forseeable future.

Dad's sending the lappy off to be looked at, but we have no idea at this point if it's a fixable problem or if I'll have to get an entirely new one. Dad's done a backup of the stuff on it just in case, either way. Sigh.

Seeya sometime, guys.

EDIT: Looked up my old journals from around the time, and I likely recieved my current laptop around early 2005... just in case anyone was curious.

I've started my TAFE course, too. It's an Advanced Diploma in Screen (Visual Effects), and there are only the three of us in the class most of the time. I don't think I ever mentioned this course on DevArt, did I? Oh well, you know now. I'm gonna learn a wide variety of stuff to do with filming and visual effects (maybe special effects too, I'm not sure) which includes stuff like animation (2D and 3D), storyboarding, live-action stuff (with a cool professional camera!) and 3D modelling. It's all really fun so far, although one of my classmates has a lot of trouble with computers so we move pretty slowly sometimes.
I should actually be in class now, but this morning's class was cancelled because the teacher has to do something and couldn't attend. I'll be heading out later to get there for the afternoon class. The journey's over an hour long, so I'm grateful for the sleep-in today.

I have to get around to scanning in the latest Squirrel Angels comic. I finally got the time to finish it the first day of TAFE, before I made friends with my classmates. I really wasn't expecting them to want to speak to me for some reason, even though we were all strangers to each other and there were apparently only the three of us in the class. Maybe because I'm so used to being an outcast I expect it without thinking. o.o

I'm gonna put up a photo now. Mum took it for me yesterday. We went out to Underwater World and met up with some old friends from the Netherlands. We hadn't seen them in years because they moved away (to England I think, and they were here because they're now moving to New Zealand) so it was nice seeing them again.

Aaaaand now I have nothing to say. Seeya!

We wrapped up a new bone and some tennis balls (cuz he's always stealing Sisterling's and Brother's ones) and once everyone was awake we called him over and unwrapped them for him. He was really happy, and once the bone was out he grabbed it and ran off to chew it in a corner! He was totally hyper until his morning walk, and then he spent the rest of the day sleeping and chewing his bone! He can be such a funny dog sometimes!

Back to DevArt... I haven't been doing much drawing and stuff at all lately. Because obviously nobody wants to hire me for a part-time job (unlike EVERYONE ELSE IN MY FAMILY, who ALL have OTHER THINGS THEY CAN DO) I'm stuck at home all day every day until my Tafe course starts. Since we got rid of my desk when we left Europe, I have nothing I can really draw on. My little kiddie desk that was in storage is full of things and can't be used comfortably by someone of adult size, and my little lap-desk is uncomfortable to draw on for more than a few minutes.
The one thing I have been doing is computer-drawn comics. Although Squirrel Angels and Horns and Wings will have to be put on hold for a while, I may be able to actually continue Random Squirrel now. I think sometime this week I'll see if anymore of Random Squirrel 3 was done before I finished it... yeah, RS3 is over now. For a few months now I've been drawing Random Squirrel 4, and it's way better already. The drawing is better, the shading is better (starting with about the fifth one) and (most of) the humour is better too. It might not be as random as before, but I find it too hard to be random like that on demand. Random Squirrel's primary function is to be funny, so it will never be as serious as the hand-drawn comics. Although I can't say if it will be as funny as Jasmine the Unlucky Fairy. Hmm, I should really put up some more of those chapters I've written... Unlike my other written stuff, people were actually INTERESTED in that.

Quarantine had also destroyed his collar and not warned us, so we had to go buy a new one.
He's having loads of fun exploring the house, although he doesn't seem at all interested in my room for some reason. My old room was on the top floor with a huge window he could look out of, but the new house has only one floor and the windows aren't that big. That wasn't the only thing to happen yesterday. UV has come to DevArt! Whoever's in charge of it has gone around favouriting pictures to do with UV, and one of my REALLY OLD Paint-drawn pictures of Ruby was favourited. Hey, I have better pictures than that! And there's that one picture of Bryst and Muffin that was ignored... and my only picture of Kibeti is in scraps, so I guess that's only to be expected.
I've started a picture featuring all four of my current role-playing characters (Ruby, Bryst, Muffin, Kibeti), with a background and everything, but I'm not exactly happy with it at the moment. Bryst is just standing there, Muffin is looking too big... Eh, once I get the shading done, I'll see what I can do about the rubbish background and upload it.

Mum joined facebook for some unfathomable reason and we've hence been reunited with a neighbour from old Hazelbrook! She moved up to Queensland some time after we left, then found Mum on facebook and contacted her. It was quite wierd seeing her again after eight years, and I think only Sisterling and I really remembered her well enough to recognise her on sight. It'll probably be the same with her three daughters, although I don't know how long it'll be 'til I see them again. Apparently they're almost all married or something, and one of them has a kid! Since they're all about Sisterling's and my age, that's just wierd.

Okay, all our stuff has been out of boxes for ages now. In fact, they tried to come and collect the boxes twice. My room, however, is a huge mess because it's so much smaller than my previous room which was always a mess anyway. I suppose it would help if I picked the quilt and blanket off the floor and arranged everything from there, but I can't be bothered.

Sisterling learned some random tune on a guitar in music last week sometime, then came home and wanted to try it out on our guitar. Said guitar hasn't been played since we arrived in the Netherlands and it's been locked up for a couple of years now. Obviously, it was pretty out of tune, so Mum tuned it, Sisterling tried out her little tune, I got out my old guitar books... One thing led to another and I'm actually playing the guitar again. As much as I hate it, I now understand Sisterling's compulsion to play her piano or violin all the time. Now I can't yell at her about it! It's not like I can play much, anyway. Just the basic chords. So I can play Waltzing Matilda, Botany Bay and several other pieces, including Blue Suede Shoes in three different keys.

I wanted to talk in my failed update a few weeks ago about my eyes... We found out in church a couple of weeks ago that I've inherited Dad's eye problem, and I can't see things properly from a distance. I forget if that's long or short sighted... I used to wear glasses for an entirely different reason (I used to read in bed under my covers, a silly thing to do; it made my eyes focus closer than they were supposed to) and I was given those before we left Australia eight/nine years ago. I only had to wear them when doing close-up stuff like reading, writing, drawing... I stopped a few years ago though, which is probably about the time my eyes turned to the other direction. I got my new glasses today, and (I can barely believe this...) I need them for practically everything! Watching the TV, just walking around... I expected having to wear them in the car, but even for the laptop?! The one thing I refuse to wear them for is general reading/writing/drawing stuff that I needed my last glasses for. I don't need them for that close-up work anyway.
I suppose from now on, you'll see me wearing glasses in my drawings. Maybe if I want to do another photo-profile of myself I'll wear them then.
Hmm, I haven't tried playing my guitar with the glasses yet, but I probably need them then too. Damn, I can see trouble doing the chords out of the corner of my eye...

I just heard a few minutes ago that the current prediction for when our stuff gets here is the end of February. They unpacked it for Customs yesterday (unfortunately, it looks like we'll have to allow my straw broom and a basket of Mum's to be destroyed ) and they called Mum just now.
So, we should have a proper internet connection (this temporary one sucks!) and the big computer and scanner back in March.

Even though I don't have any new stuff, I'll have a look through the lappy and see if I can find any good older stuff you guys might like. And I'm drawing a bit, too, so expect a lot when the scanner gets back!

In completely unrelated news, I have now run Twilight Princess into the ground. I've completed all the side-quests, all the Poes are captured, and all the Heart-Pieces are obtained! Now all I want to do is try defeating Ganondorf again and see if it's any easier. Oh, and then maybe ACTUALLY COMPLETE the Cave of Ordeals. The 45th floor isn't enough, apparently.

Greetings from North Lakes! The area around here is all newly built, so it's safe enough for Dad to set up a temporary Wireless Network until our container arrives. Mum discovered a list of newly arrived container ships in the newspaper, so we'll know the day it gets here!

So, loads of things since we dropped the internet all the way back in Voorschoten. Woah, just typing that is making me feel all out-of-sync again... I only just finished adjusting my body-clock this morning, thank you very much! Anyway, the move itself, Brother's birthday in the hotel, the house we're renting, the return of stuff in storage, Christmas, New Year, MY BIRTHDAY. Also, lots of forms I've had to fill in. Oh, the joys of adulthood in your home country. Only an expat would really know it.
Brother, to his annoyance, had a game for his Xbox360 arrive from Amazon.uk the day before we flew out, and took it out in the airport at Schipol to stare at it hopefully. He got a few more games to join it for his birthday once we'd arrived in Brisbane and wouldn't stop asking when our Air-freight would arrive with his precious Xbox inside.

For Christmas, the entire family gave the entire family a Wii. To be able to bring it with us on the plane, Dad and I unpacked it before we left and got rid of the cardboard and stuffs. We all got games to go with it, too. I got Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and I finally finished it a couple of hours ago! Wow, that is one cool game! I still have to finish collecting Poes and Pieces of Heart and such though, being the completionist I am. Apparently we also missed a Howling Stone in Lake Hylia, which I'll have to search out. O.o
Just a small note, Ganondorf is so ANNOYING to beat! If he's in Brawl, I'm never playing as him, just like I'm never using the Bridge of Eldin stage, because that pig-guy just WOULDN'T DIE! D: And I somehow missed the WarpPoint there because I ran away instead of fighting, so I had nowhere to go when I finally found the bridge again in the desert. I'm gonna steal Dad's WarioWare game next, once I'm bored of Zelda. Funnnnnn~!
AND... we all got DVDs too, so I have my yearly fix of DOCTOR WHO BOXSET FUN! *happyhappyjoyjoydance*

SO TALKING ABOUT MY BIRTHDAY NOW. HOW CAN I BE NINETEEN ALREADY? And digging up all those kiddie photos from storage just make it worse. Poor Other Brother was incredibly annoyed so little photos had him in them. He was only four when we left, and there were at least ten or eleven years worth of memories in there, not including before I was born! And apparently we have a lot of furniture from the twenties, including our poorly stored piano (never use Crown, seriously! They suck!), our great-grandfather's front table that Mum inherited and a stool-with-vague-origins-that-I-can't-remember-at-the-moment.
Um... for my birthday, I mainly just got some DS games. Pokemon Diamond, which is a great deal of fun (because I keep avoiding beating the gyms ) and Drawn to Life, which is an awesome concept but could be so much better, and Honeycomb Beat which is a puzzle game that is VERY HARD TO BEAT. Honestly, a puzzle is either easy or ridiculously hard! THERE'S NO INBETWEEN.
And we had lunch with some of Dad's relatives on my birthday, too. Dad's Auntie Barb and his cousin (who I've forgotten the name of! D: ) and her son Thomas. It's not like we'll never see him again, but because of the quarintine restrictions the shortest amount of time he has to be away from us is a couple of months, so we won't see him for a while. A LONG while.
We lose internet connection on the ninth, the day we move into the hotel, and I have no idea when we'll get it back once in Australia.
Oh, by the way... We're moving to Numbat Street! How Aussie can a streetname get? And if you don't know what a numbat is... look it up! I'm too excited about this entire thing to explain it to you.

Oh, and Eaglefoot's contest ended! At first she only announced the people in 1st and 2nd place, and one of the people in 3rd place. I was thinking to myself "See? Now you remember why you don't usually bother with stupid contests: Because you suck and losing started getting to you over eight years ago!" I intended to go cheer myself up with the Doctor Who advent calender, but since it hadn't yet updated I cheered myself up with Homestar Runner instead.
It turned out I needed have bothered though, because a few minutes ago I found Eagleh had updated her journal with the winners and put in a quiz, so I thought I may as well check it out and OH MY GOODNESS WHAT THE FUDGE BARBEQUE I SUDDENLY HAD JOINT THIRD PLACE IN THE WINNERS LIST!
I was spazzing out for a good ten minutes before I regained the ability to speak/type coherently. And now I have to decide what to do with Oxygen. She won't stop poking me! D: Maybe I can offer her a place in Six Pebbles... She can be Abby's hyper friend or something. What good is a superhero story without someone outside who knows not of the secret? Or maybe she can go with Laura in SuperHeroine... Nah, Six Pebbles is the way to go. Oxygen just seems to fit there all of a sudden. She'll need a new name though, and couple of things in her personality might need to go. That always happens with new characters; I plan out their personality and when I get to using them it inevitably changes.

I had a fun day-trip yesterday with Mum, Donnie-bug, Sisterling and Sisterling's friend Kim. Sisterling and Friend-Kim were going to Paris to stay with another friend of theirs, Friend-Catherine, for a few days, since this would be possibly their last chance to see her ever with us moving soon. Friend-Catherine had moved to Paris last year and was obviously a good friend of Sisterling and her other friends. She has so many I can't keep track! D:
Anyway, we got up at half-past five, Brother gave Donnie a quick walk and his breakfast before going back to bed, then we gathered up everything and left at six. We picked up Friend-Kim and started driving to Paris.
It was a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong drive. ^^
We were going to have our breakfast in a McDonalds on the Dutch-Belgian border, but it was still closed so we passed right through Belgium before stopping at a random place near Lille for breakfast.
By the time we got to Paris (and got lost for a little bit) it was lunch-time. Sisterling and Friend-Kim disappeared upstairs with Friend-Catherine and her sisters. Donnie took to exploring the house, and somehow didn't seem to notice there was a cat living there, who had fled into the basement at the sight of a dog. Donnie's such a wuss he refused to go near the stairs even though he wanted to see what was down there! We had lunch there, then Mum grabbed Donnie and we left.
We drove up to the Somme on the way home, and visited the graves of Mum's great-uncles, Malcolm Keshan and Joseph Slingsby. Mum took loads of photos and Donnie went ABSOLUTELY MAD AND HYPER running around the graves and peeing on the plants. He was also so thirsty after that, while I was pouring water into a bowl for him he was lapping at the pouring water!
It got dark while we were driving through Belgium again. There were these hilarious signs (in Dutch or course) to stop people driving close to each other! Mum translated them for me, and we spotted three: "Are you short-sighted?", "Craving affection, are we?" and "Do you not have your own GPS?" Well, I thought they were hilarious.
We stopped for dinner shortly after crossing the Belgian-Dutch border, long after Donnie normally has his dinner. He was hungry enough to eat all of it at least. He has this nasty habit of not eating all his food, which I suppose is normally okay as he is a bit on the big side! Mum says its muscle-mass from all the exercise he gets, which I suppose makes sense as he's a small dog.
We got home late and basically crashed. Well, except for Donnie, who excitedly said hello to Brother and Other Brother and THEN crashed.

Other Brother is very excited at the moment, because tomorrow is his birthday. He won't shut up about it. Luckily I don't mind so much. Sisterling wouldn't shut up about going to Paris and Brother never shuts up about how cute Donnie is, so I'm used to it.

And we had to get up at 6:30 which is a RIDICULOUSLY early hour of the morning. I can't believe I used to get up at that time regularly back when we lived in Amstelhoek... O.o How did I survive an hour's journey to school, every weekday?!?!
Okay... now is recoverytime! Nah, just kidding.

Mum rang us every day, and told me about the day they visited one of Dad's cousins. Apparently I have a first cousin twice removed who also likes Doctor Who! However, I don't know how much she likes it, so there is still a remote chance we would ever be friends. Which sucks. But anyway... There's still the potential, so that's all that matters.

Last Wednesday, I babysat Ashley and Veronica, the American girls across the canal, for the last time. They were really sad and annoyed I was leaving, because I always told them the ongoing adventures of the Unlucky Fairy while there. As a mark of... her ending, they decided to name her. They suggested several names, like Ruby, Jade and Glissinda, before settling on Jasmine. So now she's Jasmine the Unlucky Fairy. Obviously, this calls for a re-colouring. Those two never saw her comics, but they did ask me to type up Jasmine's story and e-mail it to them, which I plan on doing before we leave. And as they obviously have pre-concieved versions of her, I think her costume may need slight changing to more closely match their image of her. Like leaf-clothing, bracelets and an anklet.

Mum and Dad brought back a CD of an Aussie band they liked when they were there... We were listening to it over dinner, when they mentioned the name of this band was "Rogue Traders". I recognised the name, and soon discovered they made "Voodoo Child", a song that features strongly in one of the recent Doctor Who episodes. Me and my obsession get everywhere... Sisterling hates me for it, but I don't care.

Looking forward to the release of Super Smash Brothers Brawl. Don't know why, as it will likely be a year or so before I get a Wii, and even longer till I get SSBB. I'm watching the official site regardless. I blame that for my current fixation on Mario fanart/fanfiction.

Planning on getting some art up soon... something I don't quite like for Meru, a Random Squirrel comic...
Oh, I've officially started continuing Squirrel Angels! After a horrendously long hiatus, I finished drawing page... 14, I think. I drew page 13 last year, and only ten or so of the pages are up now. When I finish the first chapter of Horns and Wings, the pair of them will switch status and HaW will go on hiatus while SA continues.
Gah, drawings really bad now I'm only doing it regularly on Fridays. o.o

Anyway, not much to say, really. I'm still in shock about no more school ever ever ever, I think.

Oh, after years of thought, I finally decided to get an account at LiveJournal. The main reason is because I always end up there to see other Whovian's reactions to episodes, and, instead of boring you lot with my obsession, I thought I'd put it somewhere where people could read it only if they wanted and were interested. I also thought that, since I ramble so much on my pictures, I could transfer the main rambling over there so as not to annoy people with my random talkativeness. As no-one has ever commented on my written stories, I don't think anyone is really interested. So I'm not sure if I should upload it here or not, let alone talk about it in here. If I do upload it, I'm probably gonna have to remove "Pika and Fruka" anyway, to re-write it and fit it into the story.
Out of the sixteen seperate adventures in the 'Random Portals', there are two that don't exist yet. I'm still waiting for plot-bunnies for them, both for seperate groups. One is the group in "Pika and Fruka", Pika, Wingpoint, Silow and Debra, and the other is for the group of Princess, Phaerie, Po and Thistle. So if anyone knows my characters well enough, or wants one of my more obscure characters to meet one of those eight... Ah, why am I bothering? I'll still end up having to think them up myself... *goes to read abandoned stories to find obscure characters*

Anyway, studying is increasing slowly as various exams approach. Mechanics and Physics are dominating at the moment as they're next. Sigh.

Anyway, the actual studying would be going swimmingly... if it wasn't for a certain white fluffy boy. Donnie's been left at home with us, and, as Sisterling is concentrating so hard on studying, I'm the one left having to tend to his needs. "I want to go out on the balcony!" "I want to come back in!" "I want to play!" "I want to go downstairs!" "Lift the curtain so I can look out the window!" Of course, being a dog, he can only run around and look at me to convey his message, but they almost all require getting up and abandoning my study for several minutes to shut him up.

I've finally scanned in the first five pages of my 'Horns and Wings' comic, and just finished colouring the first page. I was vaguely wondering if anyone wants to know how I make these things, so... let me know in a comment?

Anyway, now I've got loads more scans to colour, and my writing seems to have slowed to a stop (dammit! D: ) so I should have more pictures up, despite the studying. I colour in my free time, which I have more of now school's off! Maybe I'll get in the writing mood again soon... Once I learned to draw, my writing kinda got abandoned.

Sisterling and the other Year 11s are ending on that day too, and also having a barbeque. But only after we've gone. A lot of Year 11s don't go through to Year 12, oddly enough. Sisterling will, but only for the half-a-year until we finally GO BACK TO AUSTRALIA!

Please excuse any over-abuse of smilies/emoticons whenever I mention the fact that we actually ARE going back at the end of the year. To either somewhere in Queensland (isn't that where you are, Barbie?) or to Sydney. Or, if we're really unlucky, to Melbourne. For some reason, Mum doesn't like Melbourne, so for her sake I hope we don't end up there.

Well, when I've not been revising, what have I been doing instead of drawing? Surprisingly, I've actually been writing a fair bit, although part of the curse with me considering writing is I plan it out extensively and then only ever write a couple of paragraphs. And I suck at beginnings too. Luckily I get loads of practise with Ruby, Bryst, Muffin and Kibeti over at Unicorn's Visions. Roleplaying rules!

Mum was talking about us as babies just now. I practised walking along furniture for ages before I walked, Sisterling just upped and did it one day without warning (and went on to removing her clothes and shoes at every oppertunity ), Brother practised a little before walking and Other Brother did even less 'practise' before he walked. And Mum took another oppertunity to mention my perfectionist attitude when I was little. Maybe that's why I can never write?

Oh, may as well put these here so I don't forget:
- Check out children's books! Raid Other Brother's bookshelf! Mrs Brown apparently wrote one once. Could I possibly shrink a novel-length idea to ten pages and still keep it readable by kiddies?
- "Investigate creative-writing courses in NL and AU"... Hmm, doubt I'd find anything. Doesn't help I don't know how or where to look. Well, for NL my best bet'd be the school, but we could still end up anywhere in AU so where do I aim?
- "Making up 1/2 missing A Level"... Which I severely doubt I could do, but I'll do my best. It took enough searching to discover I wouldn't be accepted into Uni's in Aus, so how much more searching do I have to do to discover if I can get that qualification?
- Shrink summaries down to e-mail size. And then e-mail 'em. Should I bother with the fanfictions and the severely unplanned and abandoned stories? It doesn't help all my older ones weren't backed up on my laptop so I lost 'em when my website died. *points at a husky pup called Anoki and a pink bipedal elephant called Elly*

And I know I missed at least one joke because of this. D: I wanna know why the suicidal guy jumped off the bridge, dammit!
Anyway... it was funny. Kinda a fitting finish for the character... ignoring the fact that he wasn't given a real finish, and he and Sabine never got anywhere. Well, emotionally. Physically they went all over France. And Bean's even more meagre knowledge of French than mine was hilarious! And of course the totally gratuitous shot of the Millau Viaduct, which was in totally the wrong place for the characters to be travelling through if they were going in a sensible straight line.

Anyway, on an entirely different vein...
I was reading something someone wrote somewhere about how it is possible for two people to come up with the same idea (I think the whole thing was directed at those over-reacters whenever they notice a similar idea between two things) and that reminded me of what was possibly my first brush with Doctor Who when I was very little. I thought it would be a cool idea to have a huge mansion inside this shed thing, so I drew it up and showed it to Dad and he laughed and told me the idea had been thought up by someone else thirty years before. Well, not the thirty years part, but it would have been about thirty years. I was really annoyed at this mysterious program for 'copying' my idea for several years after that, and to think I became a big fan of it when it finally ended its hiatus in 2005 just makes me laugh.
Sigh... I can't wait for Saturday... Maybe if I'm lucky we can watch it as it airs again! That will be one of the VERY VERY few things I will miss when we move back to Australia. I think Nine's rule has just recently ended over there... And I'm still not sure if the Christmas episodes make it over or not. D: That would just be majorly wierd...

The Sisterling has gone off with her History-Peeps to Russia for a week, coming back next Wednesday. She took a few Russian lessons after school so they wouldn't be quite so lost language-wise while there... And one thing she is happy about is that, unlike the French trip last year, they are allowed to go to McDonalds. Apparently you don't need language skills to go there... "Je voidre un Big Mac" isn't using French? Although I've probably got the French for 'want/buy/etc.' wrong. I'd ask the Sisterling but she's in Russia.

Thanks to my week-long sicknesses over the past month, I appear to have missed something pretty important at school. My year is doing a year-book, and I only found out about it this week, when the deadline was yesterday. Luckily, they've moved the deadline to "the first week of holidays", which just proves they love being vague. I have no idea what I'm supposed to put on this 'yearbook page' I have to do, although photos seem to be something others are putting on theirs. Oh, I have to remember to e-mail my closest-thing-to-a-baby-photo-we-have-at-the-moment to that guy... and maybe, if I have the guts, I could e-mail Lucy and ask what the crap I'm supposed to do... But I doubt I will, if my track-record for courage is anything to go by.

Doctor Who series 3 is starting tonight! I'm so excited! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~! I haven't been this excited since... well... since series 2 started. Or maybe since I got the series 2 boxset completely out of the blue at Christmas. I knew we'd get it, but I was certain Dad would get it like he got the series 1 boxset, which made it the best present I've ever recieved EVER.

Next, a bit more recently, Mum got something removed from her finger that was apparently more serious than she thought (and she was getting sick on top of that too) so she was stuck at home in bed for the past two weeks with some horrendous sickness and a bandage all over her right arm...
Luckily, the worst I've got is some annoying cold that would probably normally be serious enough to keep me home, but with Mum stuck in bed like that it wasn't, and I was stuck in school.

Anyway, away from the negativity that is my life at the moment...
I've been babysitting for one of Mum's friends recently. There are four kids, one's a toddler and one's a baby, and luckily for me I've mainly babysat so far when the younger two are in bed. They're so cute! When the toddler, Theo, is awake he's a bit of a handful, a bit like their hyper dog, Popcorn, but he's fun to play with... except for that one time he decided he didn't like me and wanted me to stay away and play with Popcorn. Adrian has been asleep all the time's I've babysat him, and he's been easy as pie (easier even!) to look after so far! Their older siblings are just as easy, because they're between the ages of my younger brothers and behave responsably when their parents aren't around. I don't know why everyone's so impressed when I babysit these guys... Anyone with a bit of common sense and maybe some experience with babies could do it.

Alright, maybe not everyone could do it. The American girls across the canal are probably bad examples to be comparing them to.

It was a late 18th birthday present to go to London to see Spamalot, which was FANTASTIC by the way! We also passed the time by shopping (eurgh) and a quick visit to the British Museum, where I was not expecting to see the Rosetta Stone on display. I mean, I'd never been interested enough in it to find out/remember where it was, so...

Anyway, as fun as that was, I was glad to get home... only to discover that Donnie (as Sisterling has always forbidden us to do with HER room) had been left unsupervised in my room and ripped up one of my bears I got for my birthday. Also, he had generally trashed the rest of my room and obviously attempted to run off with my Westie Puppet Drum the one time he was in there with somebody. So I shouted and screamed at Sisterling and tried to find somewhere to keep my Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog Puppet...

Just got a parcel from some relatives, containing another late b'day present. Apparently they lost it and found it again while clearing up after Christmas, and it was, presumably, already after my birthday then. At least they got my age right... Someone, can't remember who, thought I was 18 LAST year.

Anyway, stopping rambling now. If I allowed myself, I'd keep rambling until the end of time. Or until I ran out of ideas. I'd probably end up telling all my fantasy stories in there, and I have a LOT of those, believe me!

So, my card from Mum and Dad had this HUGE badge emblazoned with a large '18', and I was wearing that today at school. It certainly ensured people knew about it, and several people wished me 'happy birthday'. M&D also bought a card for me that is 'from' Mum's dad, Grandpa. It's in Dutch, but the main message of it is still understandable... if you stare at it for long enough. I actually typed it up and translated it using the ever amusing Babel Fish, but it differs enough from what I understand it as for me to want to post it somewhere where native Dutch-speakers can see it.

Well, I've been enjoying my new five million books, two adorable teddies, bits of jewellery with a cute box and digital camera! Especially that last one. I should have brought it to school to take a photo of my locker with Sisterling's decorations on it... that butterfly was cool. And huge. But also glittery-ly cool.

Well, avoiding stressing out over approaching adulthood...
My family (all of it, for once!) spent New Year's Day just outside Dusseldorf in Germany. I've been there before on an excursion to see the Christmas Markets, except without all the stalls it looks totally different!
Oh, when I said 'all the family', I was including the dog. DONNIE SO CYUUUTE! And he was so happy to be on holiday with us for once, only he got very fidgety on the ride home. 2.5 hours is a long ride, especially for him, and he at least got to get out once on the way there.
The Germans are a lot more sensible about fireworks than the Dutch. We were hearing bangs and whistles at all hours of the day and night after Christmas, but we only heard fireworks after midnight yesterday in Germany.

Just to prove I have the wierdest method of writing ever, I started doing a table of genetics for the 'Horns and Wings' cast... For an example, 'red' is a... aw crap, what's the word? Non-dominant. I can't think of the proper word, so I'll use that. Anyway, red is a non-dominant coat colour. Ruby is red-red, which makes her red. Her mother, Pearl, is white-red, which makes her pink. Her father, Valco, WAS white, but is now red-red and red. I'm still sorting out what colour to make the red diamond he used to have on his forehead, but I'll get that sorted out eventually.

First, I was totally surprised beyond belief today when I finally found my first wild shiny Pokemon ever in Ruby! Eeeeeee~!

Second, snow has come to Animal Crossing, and I have had immense fun searching for snowballs and making snowmen... er, a Snowman. I'm lucky I haven't accidently thrown the snowballs in the river/pond/sea yet, but I have somehow managed to squish a tiny one against a tree and destroy it that way.

Third, I totally meant to update this journal after Sinterklaas on the fifth, but totally forgot. I don't suppose it matters much, cuz how many of you guys live here in Dutchland anyway? None who are active, I think. So none of you know what I'm talking about BUT I'M GOING TO RAMBLE ON ABOUT IT ANYWAY!

This morning, we discovered my brand new, two-month-old bike had been stolen, as had my combination lock in the bike-bags.
To be honest, the fault it was unlocked was of the darn lock itself... Dutch winter has basically already started temperature-wise, and the stupid thing was frozen and wouldn't open. I had to take my old, dead bike out of the backyard and resurrect it to ride it to school. Which was annoying. I'd've thought I'd get to skip but I suppose it was punishment for forgetting the lock was frozen and not telling Mum when she walked in the door later burdened with Donnie and Other Brother.

Luckily, today was a Thursday and Thursday's are the days I get the afternoon off (yay Sixth Form!), so I spent the afternoon getting a new bike with Mum. It's all colour co-ordinated around blue, which Sisterling found annoying because that's HER colour. Though she did agree that blue was better than the orange and green bikes that were the other options.

Pika: Hey, why aren't you drawing?

I've been busy mourning my stolen bike and my dead bike. And looking forward to using my new bike tomorrow.

Wingpoint: But you said you were working on the next Random Squirrel comic!

I lied. Besides, I'm up to shading now, and that's boring after a few minutes.

Pika: ... It better be ready soon, or I'll Agility/Thunder you good!

Anyway, I've been inspired to write a lot recently, so I've been writing the written version of Squirrel Angels. The comics really helped. Comic-wise, I've got up to page 4 novel-ised at the moment, but I keep stopping to colour some scanned stuff I've got lying around to try and keep this inspiration for as long as possible.

Hmm, I must start drawing 'Random Squirrel' again at some point... I think some of the characters in it are getting restless... they want to be drawn again, I think. o.o

I severely doubt I'll even get five comments total on this.

For those who do reply, only expect hand-drawn/scanned in stuff on Thursdays/Fridays. For the completely CG stuff (do I even do those anymore? ) there is no definate day to expect it. If anybody specifically wants either type, just say so, but don't rely on my speed. It's just that the only reliable time I can get my hands on the scanner is Thursdays, and sometimes even then I can't get it to myself.
... I have a lot of sketches and stuff I want to colour. :3


Hmm... I forgot to mention we went to see PotC2 two Sundays ago. My opinion? Wait till I get my doodle done.

WEEEELL, I've been writing quite a bit... And I got a new Nintendog too! His name is Cicada and he is an adorable orange-spotted beagle.
By the way, I DID find that annoying Jack Russell Book, but I thought the beagles were cuter. Freaking similar, but cuter.

One of my older stories is undergoing a massive overhaul... mainly due to the sudden appearance of Debra's backstory... which I thought up a couple of days ago... and just finished typing up... and I think it's cool...

I'm trying to get myself into the habit of leaving the town gate in AC:WW open whenever I'm on, so look out for me when I get back! Of course, I can't do that while in Spain, but whatever. *kicks self*
By the way, that title is another 'nickname' one of the AC:WW villagers came up with. Nobody's used it though; B-bean is much more popular.

I also gave her the catchphrase 'randomness', which is cool.

We've been painting my room. It is now mostly pink with a white roof. Also, my lights have turned orange from burned plastic that was not mentioned to me. But they still work fine, which is great. I've been going through all my things and getting rid of stuff I no longer want/need, and my room is actually CLEAN for once. I bet it won't be once I get all my stuff back in it.

I've been drawing a lot, too, especially when I couldn't help paint my room so couldn't go in there. Unfortunatly, Brother and Other Brother are pretty much hogging the big computer with the scanner-printer, so I can't scan anything until they finally GET OFF... and log off, too. >.> *glares at brothers*

I'm still getting myself confused over Northern Hemisphere school years and the normal year (i.e. the Southern Hemisphere's school year). I almost thought "Oh, Christmas is coming," before I slapped myself for getting confused again.

We're going to Spain this summer. Unusually, I don't think we'll be doing much sightseeing, so I may get more drawings done than I have on previous holidays... 'may' being the key word there.

The super cool awesome something I mentioned in the Zabby and Friends picture is delayed... I've got it coloured, but then I realised I'd done something very stupid and wrong, so I'm fixing it.
Hmm... it probably isn't as 'awesome' as I originally thought it to be, if I've gone and done something stupid and wrong to it. o.o

Sisterling and Brother are coming home this afternoon/evening, too. Axe has been in Ariege in the Pyrennes (sp?) in southern France, and Brother has been in Ahrwieler (sp?) in Germany. Donnie will be SO happy to see them back.

My work experience week is officially OVER! Whoo! It was quite fun working with the kiddies, especially Reception (called kindergarten in AU) and Year 2. They pulled their 'cuteness' act on me repeatedly. Especially a little girl called Beth in Year 2 and a friend of hers, who both ran up and hugged me randomly on Thursday.
A lot of the girls in reception loved 'playing' with me, especially on Friday aka Sports Day. Little Andrea kept trying to slap me on the rump (it hurt! D: ) and Mabel (a little Australian girl still with her accent) and friends kept jumping on me while they waited for their parents to appear. They are so cute.

Oh, and I'm babysitting tonight, too. That is, if I can remember the way there.

My sister brought her blue folder, and I brought my DS, but I soon tired of Pokemon (*le gasp* Impossible!) and stole borrowed a sheet from Axe.
Oh, and we talked a lot too. Once we got home, we went through all our old drawings, showing them to each other. Oddly enough, I learned something from it: Axe does lots of surrealist drawings and one-off characters, always trying to look realistic. I, however, am getting more and more cartoony, and everything I draw is an existing character from my million stories, or a new one about to get its own tale.

I've also been spending the weekend re-aquainting myself with Pokemon Colosseum XD: Gale of Darkness! Wheeee~! *chases after Dark Lugia* :3

First, sister has joined DevArt under the alias ~Axe-ofthebirds. Don't believe her when she says that I'm the better artist and that she's jealous... She's the better one! Her style is just more realistic than mine. And she's mad about birds, too.

Second, I reached my thousandth pageview! Thanks to ~Justware, who caught it. I've got something sketched for the congrats, but I'm still working out the kinks. *thumbs up*
I also mentioned in the description for my 20th comic the fact that I'm nearing 100 deviations, but seeing as most of my older deviations became scraps, I've presumably passed 100 anyway. So I'm only making the odd point about certain numbers of pageviews.

Third, I typed most of this while playing Nintendogs. Those darn puppies are so cute, I can't tear myself away.
