History of progress so far. I used more space and repeated a year several times because of the big changes I was experiencing every 6 months or so.

I got back into drawing on a serious basis in December of 2006. It's been a tremendous help and pleasure being here on DeviantArt for almost a year now.

It's such an inspiration to be able to experience the wonderful, amazing creations I continue see with each visit to the website.

I also appreciate so much all of the support and opportunities to learn new things .Everyone is willing to share experience and information and extend respect and friendship. It's great!!

It pushes me to challenge myself every day.

Here goes! My dad was a football and sports FANATIC! Super jock ok!!! I grew up with a TV tuned into one game and a radio tuned into another at the same time! Even during Thanksgiving dinner he had to have the game on during the meal. Rides in the car ....ALWAYS accompanied by a baseball game blaring away on the radio while the hot sun beat in the windows. I grew up dipped in and covered with sports like a candy apple dipped in caramel!

As an adult I spurned sports with a passion. Even the sounds of home runs or touchdowns in the background would turn my stomach! Yes..I had a phyisical reaction brought on by connecting the buzz of the game noise to my constant car sickness when traveling in a car!I even avoided dating anyone that liked watching sports. And a rule I had about getting married for myself that I would never marry a sports fanatic!

Fast forward years later...my now grown daughter was of like mind..NO Sports!! MY grown son on the other hand was my dad reincarnated! So he and my dad would call long distance during games to share the experience. At the time we lived in MArquette,Michigan. A small town on the shores of Lake Superior in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan. It's a town that has a nice artisan feel to it and attracts a lot of cultural events and people having to do with the arts. Perfect senerio for the likes of me.

Moving on.... After a divorce ...meeting someone new after an 8 year stint as a single parent and a return to college to finish and unfinshed degree. I meet a wonderful guy..my present husband of now 20 years! Really!!...aging myself now

!We get married and plan to settle down in Marquette ..but his business ..a small Mom & Pop grocery store burns to the ground 6 months before our wedding taking away our apartment above the store with it!!!

OK!!! OK!! I Know... Blah! Blah Blah!!What does this all have to do with sports you are asking yourself!

Next chapter....loss of home and job and a necessary move to Green Bay,Wisconsin 180 miles south of my beloved Marquette..I get jettisoned into the mad mad world of The Green Bay Packers!! A culture developed
completely around beer,brats, and football with shopping coming in as a huge second on the list! Not my cup of tea to say the least.
My son a freshman in highschool is in his element!! We live so close to the stadium that we can "literally" feel the ground shake when the fans pound their feet in the stands during a game!

I just read about this young lady

yesterday.
[link] and her need for help and support. I was wishing that I could to make a difference in some way..this seems to have been the answer that was sent to me . I have sent a donation..if you can please help her even if it's just to send your love and support and help in continuing to get and keep her information out there!

It finally caught up with me! Ugh!!! I helped my one of my Granddaughters paint a pumpkin for a school project and she had not been feeling well either..so I guess I know where I got it. I did not feel like doing much of ANYTHING yesterday or today. I have to get better becasue Sunday I am attending the football game that's making history for those of you that follow that stuff!I am going to the Vikings/Packer game on the Packer's home field! The great Brett Favre who played for the Packers for so many years and is now playing wonderfully for the Vikings and is coming back to play on his old stomping grounds! It's a BIG thing here. I may not have arms left when the game is done! People are acting very immature and ignorant about the whole thing. So anyway I have insured my arms (can't draw without them...haaaaa Just kidding of course)!! So enough of that ..just rambling! That's what happens when I get sick!!!! Boo Hoo!!

I am still reading tutorials on how to use some features here on DA. Not being born in "the age of computers" it can get kind of frustrating some days when it takes me sooooo long to figure things out. Even the directions given in the tutorials need tutorials sometimes for people like me to understand!!! Sigh!!! But I just keep plugging along.....eventually I find the key to unlock the door!!! That's a good feeling! Maybe having it come easy is not always the greatest way!

Sometimes having to work for it makes things sweeter!!

I finally got the bug to do some more work on my watercolor. I have been drawing so much I almost forgot what it felt like to paint!! Anyway it feels good to get back into it full force. I still have a long way to go but I enjoy taking my time and I don't get impatient to finish it quickly! I think that's because I can draw anytime I want to if I have the need to finish something faster.

Also I just wanted to comment on how I am still finding tons of new artists here on DA to look at every time I visit. It gives my heart great joy to be invited to look at all of the wonderful creativity and talent that can be enjoyed with just a few clicks of the mouse! I am so glad I was informed about this website and was encouraged to join!

Thanks to everyone who has shared their work with me and thanks for the visits to my gallery and watchers of my artwork. I appreciate all of the wonderful and helpful comments you have taken to time to pass my way!

I have one question I would like to ask..and that is...
If anyone has any pointers on how to actually get a critique I would appreciate it. Is it just a hit or miss sort of thing? I have watched the critiques to try and figure it out but it seems as if anything and everything gets picked for critiques at one time or another. So if there is anything special that I should be doing other than requesting one when I post a submission and anyone cares to pass that info along I would appreciate it! Thanks!!

"Ting Na" my personal seal!

Hello visitors and fellow DA's

I have been submitting and putting some of my greeting cards on display.
I wanted to let everyone know that my cards are designed on the front,back and inside...which if you've looked you already know!
The cards are actually 5 1/2" by 8 1/2" but the sizes they allow you to label them on DA only have 5x7" as a choice.
I have cards made for almost all of my artwork I have submitted. I often have several variations of each design.
Also if someone would like to make a request for a card made from one of my pictures I will be more than happy to make one up for them and they can decide if they want any changes made etc.
I will also sell the cards individually if requested or include more than one design in a box. Let me know if you have any questions!

On another note..I guess my page is being attacked by the "black screen thingy" as far as my slide show goes!! Hope it gets corected soon.I guess the DA techs are working on it!!

Boy I realize I am really going on about this today. I guess I was feeling sad about seeing several posts about several wonderful artists here that had passed away recently. I keep feeling like I need to accomplish something with my artwork..or at least attempt to so if something happens to me I don't leave a legacy of avoidance to my children. I want them to see I was able to forge ahead in spite of my insecurities etc. Does that make any sense? Anyway...I don't usually open up like this but thought perhaps someone's journey here may have made them able to relate. Soooo sigh!! I guess that's enough of that.
I have been making little baby steps to achive a few things and if I am blessed with some years yet I may accomplish it yet! I know it can't happen if I don't keep pushing myself. This gets harder to do as you get older by the way..push yourself that is..so if your young and energetic and have the bug to do something.= with your artwork ..by all means ...push ..push..push yourself!!
