General Updates:

Well in general my life is just the best at the moment. University is a bit slow with projects etc, so I can't wait untill the real projects come in. My photography is going great also. I have been given my own bedroom at home and I'm so happy, it's definatly not finished with the decorating but it's my own space to work and relax in.

My 19th birthday in 2weeks today actually, I'm never unsually excited about my birthday but I don't know I'm excited that I'm growing up. A lot has happened in the past year etc but it doesn't seem like yesterday that it was my 18th. What's DA getting me?

Photographic Updates:

Well last Wednesday as some of you may know I started shooting a new personal project, we havenÂt been given much photographic work from university so I thought that IÂd start this. Well basically my idea came from looking at the online portfolio from Eugenio Recuenco and also my ÂHistory of lens based mediaÂ lesson. I have decided to start creating early cinematic portraits.
It was mainly a test shoot, testing the lighting, the imagery and the poses. I really need to do some research on the over exaggerating poses which actors had to create in silent movies etc. Also after Christmas is going to be a definite Âbuy propsÂ time, not just for the shoots with this project but hopefully become handy with future shoots.
Also on the same day Chaz (my boyfirend) had a photoshoot, he shot some crazy but amazing clothes from which a girl he knew from school had designed. She had so many outfits!! You can see some of his results on his DevinatArt page.

Also on Tuesday, my dear friend and model Rachel (again) commissioned me to do a re-make of the Keira Knightly's Chanel advert. The image is suppose to be a present for her boyfriend, which I think is just the sweetest thing...anyway. The lighting was quite tricky so Chaz assisted me with the lights which in the end took about 5mintues to set up lol.
I really loved the end result, I didn't want to copy the image exactly but I kept a few vital things that when you see it you'll recongnise it to be a re-make. Here's the result:

It has been a while since I updated my journal. I haven't actually been that busy, just under two weeks ago I a shoot with my trusty model Rachel . I suppose these shoots I am doing lately are more practice/test shoots, I'm really liking the concepts I'm coming up with lately so I've been shooting on the quick and coming out with sme good resullts so maybe when I do finaly plan out a decent shoot the results will be "mind blowing"? Well here's 2 shots from the shoot.

As you can tell I have a thing for flare at the moment .

Last week I had a problem with my new laptop and had to do a master reboot, kind of sucked considering it is a new laptop but I did get it sorted in the end and the problem was my fault I left the battery in and apparently to the guy at the store the nitrate from the battery leaked into my system which caused it to mess up...I know I have no idea.

I'm quite looking forward to tomorrow; me and my boyfriend are a bit busy we both have a shoot each to boost our portfolios. It is going to be slightly wierd having him there behind me shooting, I don't think he's actually seem me in working mode yet but I don't think he'll really notice if he's shooting himself. So yes, my shoot is based around the early 1900's cinematic theme, I am shooting in colour but the end results will be black & white... unless they look good in colour lol. This idea camera when I was looking at Eugenio Recuenco online porftolio.

Well anyway I will hopefully get back to you soon because it my 19th birthday in less than a month and I'm guessing I'll have something fun to upload

_{Guess what came today!!! My new camera hence the "new" image above . I got the Canon EOS 40D. I was originaly going to upgrade to the Canon EOS 5D but something happpened with my university and bank which decided to be a big no no.
Anyway at university now and I'm really enjoying it. Finaly got back into the darkroom this week, it really is the best feeling developing and printing your own work. Our Photoshop lesson is a bit slow because they've decided to start from the basics etc and (not being big headed at all) I already know it.
Also I now have purchased a pro account on Flickr so my work is better organised...if anyone wants ot check that out here you can.}

Also this week I have had a fun time selecting through some really inspiring work on here, I hope you enjoy them as musch as I have.}

_{Again it's been a bit slow here, I must say this summer my life has changed dramaticaly but I'm looking at it from a good side. I sold my camera 5 days ago, "out with the old, in with the new" literaly. I'm not upgrading to the camera I hoped for but I am upgrading; this time to the Canon EOS 40D. That's the problem with me I dream too big and try to make it happen as soon as, but there is always something that has to get in the way.

*I have been pretty happy this past month and the reason for it has kept me smiling and sane, because I have had something to look forward to most days.

I start university in two weeks today which should be an absolute blast, even though I'm studying at Leicester College I don't mind at least I know the facility and the teachers well. I must say though it sucks that I have to do homework :s.

Anyway on the photographic side. I had a shoot back I August with Natalie, she isn't a model she was just someone that just wanted some photos done. RESULTS:

Also yesterday I had a shoot with a local Leicester band, The September Flaw. I've known a couple of the guys for a long time (since high school) and they were still as loud as I can remember. I must say shooting bands is not my strongest point as I'm only used to directing one person in a shot not 5/6. RESULTS:
