Or when people complain of the lack thereof. Most people also complain that they feel uninspired by muses and sometimes blame it for the lack of activity. I guess I just don't get it because I don't have muses. Well not the type of muses that most people have. I have ten muses but they only back up what my characters what them to do. They only help frame a story that my characters want to be in.

But let's go back to characters. A semi-famous writer once told me "The only difference between a writer and a schizophrenic is that a writer puts his or her voices to work." That is what I do and that is where I get my inspiration. Call me crazy all you want but my characters speak to me and my muses categorize and I write a story. This gives me total freedom and the ability to write what I want.

Either that or I'm crazy....

This is why I hate muses. For me they don't inspire they just categorize. Sometimes I wish more people thought like me instead of blaming the poor muses.

Anyway end rant...

No it has nothing to do at all with scripts (medical or otherwise). I figured this year I'd bang out some more work every month. Instead of themes I'll work on requests, contests or chapters (like "A Different World") and bang them out by a specific deadline. I'm not sure if I should poll the deadline or not but I'll work that out. The first express script is up. I'll be editing it from time to time because it needs peer critique.

Time for my usual Onward post. 2008 was a really awesome year. Mostly because I spent a quarter of it out of my own country. For once it felt good to be realizing my dreams and making worldwide connections meaning I have friends all over East Asia. I went Tokyo Game Show last year which I thought was just unbelievable. I fell in love for the first time which was interesting given the circumstances (believe me it's all over the web). I'm not sure what I want in 2009 I actually just want to finish whatever I have left of this year's semester and maybe graduate next year as scheduled. I'm not expecting it to top 2008 but it can sure come pretty close. Anyway Happy 2009 everyone!

It is the spring of 2008 and I realize "Hey I have way too many characters." That is characters who are just backlogged with nowhere to go. So I decided "No more! Well maybe just one more." That's when I decided to create Niku.

Niku came about when my friend suggested to do something different with light and dark He wanted me to take darkness and make it good while taking light and making it evil. Niku was to be played opposite of my sister's character Baby Marsh who was the incarnation of light but never gave niku any play (sound familiar miss Celesta). They were supposed to be in a novel called Metamorphose The prologue can be seen however in my gallery.

Niku was supposed to be colorless with white hair, eyes and the only thing with color was his skin which is dark. Just by chance he happened to bear a striking resemblance to ~Fallenangelj's picture: [link]

Niku's name derived from my Japanese class where we were studying the hiragana ni and the word Niku was on top. Then as the story of Metamorphose went on I chose Ramen for his middle name which was what I ate a lot of in Korea and Wentworth which seemed like a rich white name name turned out to be "The Village of White People's Meat Soup.

Niku's behavior derived from Vexen. If anyone knows how I play Vexen you would know he was a crazy, cheating, alcoholic. Niku just took Vexen's behaviors a bit further. He was also contemporary, rich, young, and neglected all his life. If he seems ghetto fabulous he really is. He was meant to be an urban drug dealer that snapped killing thirteen people by beating them to death. He was sentenced to death but came back alive. He learned he couldn't die and developed behaviors that the doctors identified as borderline his most reoccurring ones being self-mutilation and reckless driving.

In the end I decided to dump him into a confusing plot where he learns as he goes along. He learns how to deal with life and the problems of being darkness' incarnation which he later learned he was.

*Bonus: Niku's speech is badly broken up English. It derived from the way I used to type on MSN five years ago. I was so stupid then. I was also reading Push at about the time that Niku was being conceived so his speech also took from there.
