Cranky Octopus
It's Vigil week over at Cranky Octopus. It's Day 3 and there's another behind the scenes look at the evolution of Vigil. Check the Vigil section for links to the first two parts if you missed them. Very cool stuff any fan of 's Vigil will want to see.

AFL3
Well AFL III is officially underway! There have already been over 25 fights posted and it's shaping up to be quite a fun fest once again. If you haven't signed up for it, it's a bit late for you but being a spectator is about as much fun (I know, I watched form the wings during AFL1) so keep checking back at the latest AFL journal for updates.

Secret Wars
And if AFL wasn't enough fun, is holding a year long art jam based on Marvel Comics' Secret Wars using original characters created by those who're participating. Sign up has now ended, but that doesn't mean you can't watch the story unfold over at Kostmeyer's devpage. We're now on our second task which *Kostmeyer has graciously expanded to a 2 month deadline because so many of it's participants are also dukingit out in AFL through Feb and March. Check out all the happenings over at his latest journal.





Happy New Year, all!
Wow, here we are again! Another new year. I think Pink Floyd had it right in that "Every year is getting shorter..." I've seen far too many Jules Holland's Annual New Year's Eve Hootenannys and it's starting to get scary. Still, it's enormously preferential than going out on Dec 31st. That's for fools and people who live very close to the venue. Besides, I don't drink so it would have been insanely depressing.

ANYWAY! Enough of my New Years grumpiness. 2009 is definitely going to be a good year for me. I know that last year I said I was going to leave work and didn't, but this year is most certainly the year. A new start for me. I have a plan and I aim to stick to it. If all goes well I shall be living in a new place, I'll have a new job and be a lot happier person. It's all very exciting...scary too, but exciting none the less.

More imediate things to look forward to include *Kostmeyer's year long Secret Wars art jam, =AngelCrusher's third Angelcrusher's Flighting League art tournament (AFL3) and of course all new Maverick comic pages from yours truly.

Hope your year will be filled with fun stuff too!

There is a Cisco technologies/NYU film contest being held and we ended up as a subject matter for one of the short films produced for the competition! The subject centres around interaction across cyberspace which was perfect since the three of us (*genekelly , *Kostmeyer and myself) communucate solely online.

AFL II

The AFL pummeling party has only been running for three days and with sixty-seven official fighters there has already been over fifty pictures produced!

Cranky Octopus

Well the Cranky Octopus clock is ticking away and I'm starting to get nervous but yet somehow remain quite excited. It's a strange state of mind to be in. I'm hoping to get a couple more pages done before we go live on Friday August 8th to be comfortably ahead of schedule.

The work done so far by my fellow Octopus buddies and is outstandingly high quality stuff so you certainly won't be disappointed.

Watchmen Movie

Also, I'm totally freaking out with fangirlish glee at the new Watchmen teaser trailer that went out yesterday, allthough I hear that it will make it's cinematic debut on the previews for The Dark Knight which I'll be going to see next Friday night with a horde of work mates.

Watchmen looks absolutely amazing Particularly The Comedian, Dr Manhattan & of course, Rorschach (Rorschach! Rorschach! Ra! Ra! Ra! - His ink blots move and everything *dies with glee*) and I can't believe I have to wait until next March to see it. Grrr. Dr Horrible's Sing-along Blog

Also, have you been watching Dr Horrible? It stars Doogie Howser and Nathan Fillion (Mal from Firefly). It's a musical adventure written by Joss Whedon.

Acts I -III are all out as of 19th of July. It's only available (for free) for the week so catch it before it disappears. Make sure your flash player is up to date!

More Cowbell
