I AM GOING TO THE NEW YEARS CONCERT IN VIENNA!!!!

the music event of the year that i've been following on TV for years...i thought maybe it's only for the rich and famous lol i've manage to buy a standing ticket (since i missed the draw at the beginning of year i paid 450 euros for a standing ticket but it's all going to be WORTH IT)

can't wait to go! i will be spending several days in vienna and taking photos and walking around. SCHONBRUNN PALACE! lol

then there's the rape of history. i think people over use this term...forced sex is rape, genocides is raping a country (rape of nanking?) but...drawing...(admittedly sometimes historically incorrect or competely based on character and not history) manga can be defined as rape? Japan is still changing their historic textbooks to lessen the impact of the Rape of Nanking and why does no one think that is rape even though it is a serious and disrespectful distortion of history, instead they focus on a bunch of youth drawing (unintentionally too, unlike japan) cartoonistic picture and they can call this "rape" of history?

Hetalia zombies...supposedly this terms means something but i completely do not get the metaphor. i think the mere fact that there's history or background to a picture proves that there's thinking involved...admittedly it's not always correct but c'mon there are stupid and thoughtless people in every fandom... then the zombie metaphor is completely off.

I may not be in a position to be debating this since I have made a serious mistake before, there was this picture of Russia that was supposed to be an oekaki so I didn't put in much thought and just created an uniform based on many parts of different clothing when I googled "Soviet Uniform". Then I stupidly added the SS symbol to Ivan's collar orz I do make mistakes like that but I apologized when I found out and corrected the mistake. I think that is the way with most people. I put research and correct history into most of my aph work, I screwed up once and it was intentional and I do feel sorry for making a mistake like that. Maybe that's the way with most of the mistakes you can catch off aph pictures. they are unintentional.

as to the swastika, I must also make reference to Japan. there are many fan arts of Japan in the white military uniform which is a symbol of their world war imperialism which is even though on a lesser scale no less vicious than the nazi regime, with killing of innocents and rape and looting and cruel human experiments. but I don't complain. why? because there was a period of time in history that the uniform was worn, so if they were to portray that time then they must draw that uniform, it's a part of their history. so what if they drew the swastika? it was a part of their history. if they completely avoid it it would be like trying to hide a fact or to purposefully avoid the bad parts to look bad. isn't this even worse than if they just simply drew it as a representation of a period of time so people can tell what time the picture took place instead of hiding and not talking about it? i'd rather the japanese openly draw their imperialistic uniform than try to hide it. guilt and shame are existent, but learning how to face history properly does not mean never talking or portraying any period of time.

in fact i don't mind any art as long as it's just art, as long as it doesn't have political undertones to it. there are certain aph pieces and requests that pisses me off no ends because u can tell that they're totally trying to make a political stance instead of simply telling a story or doing simply an artwork.

as to people being annoyed with aph all over the main page...deal with it. i had to deal with naruto all over the place even though it annoys the hell out of me, and you don't see me complaining just because lots of people likes it and it "annoys me " do you -_-

we must all learn to FACE HISTORY. I have to honestly say there is a certain danger to APH. In fact if I were to be the government I would label it R18. people needs to learn to separate aph from real life in a sense that you can be introduced to a war via aph but at the same time you're thinking how cute people are acting you must realize the horrors of the war. I personally was never satisfied with the japan/china strip where all of china's pains are portrayed in such a "cute" way, but because I know my proper history, I can just take it that it is simply a wrong but still existent way of portraying and pass on. I don't think it's appropriate for people to see the aggressors as being so cute especially during the period of time of their aggression. but this does not mean aph isn't a good concept. that is why we should wait until someone is 18 and that they've had proper history lessons and know right from wrong before introducing aph.

can't help but to complain a bit about protectionism...i have a job -v- just gimme my visa =_=

made some money off selling bookmarks, but out of all the love created by aph i'm going to buy a button machine (so i can make some aph buttons) and donate the rest to red cross.

p.s. for all who saw me before, i cut my hair from my waist up length to barely above neck =v= as of this summer it reached a length long enough to be donated to "locks of love" hair donation for cancer patients, unfortunately i don't trust the mail enough to send it from beijing, so i'm going to wait until i'm back in the states to mail it. imagine what the customs people will say when they find a thick black braid in my bag that's actual human hair =v= fufufu

(surprisingly enough this is not a joke. I went to the original link, i can't understand korean, even if the original petition line had been changed to something more mild, you can tell from the reply (someone who understood korean translated) that one person said, "isn't it a bit extreme to kill someone because of an anime?" and apparently the 2nd reply was a kill note...)

1) the special group of koreans started a new petition which advocated cyber terrorism as a form of stopping hetalia.This in itself is not only an attach on the freedom of speech, also it is an illegal act by law, under the pretext of unreasonable nationalistic urges. as the declaration said, this is coercion and violent means, which should never be employed.

2) This petition urges for those acts of promoting terrorism to be stopped, for freedom to be restored, for hetalia to resume airing on TV, as well as to ensure the continuing of the manga series.

Just a few words I have to say:

when I first entered the fandom, as a part of the chinese hetalia community, there was a page of rules which all people entering the fandom must read, including separating the country names apart with "/" as to avoid it popping up on search engines and confusing people, and to not promote this series due to its general sensitive nature, and to prevent himaruya-sama any trouble. I thought, ok, a bit restrictive, but we must respect the opinion of others who are offended by this.

Then, I opened an art thread on a forum which is not anti-hetalia, just to share and display some fan arts. Some people came into the thread looking for a fight, I replied as seriously and honestly as I could, and ended the discussion to prevent a war.

But someone started a thread in the APH community talking about this, and for some reason I became the bad guy in the story.

Why? because I shared some art? this wasn't active promotion of the series, in fact, quoting my very words, I said in that art thread, "If I said too much I might invoke a war so i'm just silently dropping some pictures".

Is this illegal now?

Is it illegal to put out some arts just because some people might not like it?

I have said before, people, liking hetalia is not a sin, not a crime! if some don't like it, then may they circumvent it and never have to touch it. Nobody is pushing it in their face, nobody's forcing anyone to look. and yet, it's almost as if we as hetalia fans are doing something bad, something dirty, by just liking the series. We must stand up before it's too late, we can't always give into the opposition, if this continues something bad is definitely going to happen.

it's already way past due time for hetalia fans to stand up for who we are. we are not stealing or setting fire, we're simply supporting a fandom, a series which, even though it talks about history, makes people love the world more instead of view it with hate and despair as some do from reading actual historical accounts.

Nobody has the right to take it away from us, nobody has the right to take it away from the world! we respected the thoughts of others for too long, it's high time those nationalist who don't know where to draw the line heard our opinion, our thoughts, and see that WE EXIST!
