Hope everyone's Christmas Season is filled with the joys of whatever you celebrate! And if you don't celebrate anything, then enjoy the time off school/work.

And yaaaay... New Year!! This was a pretty poopy and stressful year.
But yay for 2010! Its also funner to type!

Anyways.
I got a really great piece on the way (at least I think so). Kinda has to do with the new year...Vaguely. Another year, in this "age". It oughtta "trigger" some reactions.

Although it sounds as about exciting as working for Dunder Mifflin Paper (a la NBC's The Office) is not that bad. However, it did for a while drain me of all creative juice and physical energy.

I'll try to update more works more often. I'm pretty free for commissions and ideas. I love hearing from anyone who writes here, and will also try to get back to all of ya as soon as I can!

Right-o. So since LAST Jounral, I'm actually BACK IN school again...

YUS!! TWO more weeks of this semester...thanks the higher being you believe in.

I'm kinda sort of in a drawing block. And when I try to draw it looks all... cripple and manly when it should be feminine. o____o
Gross.
That coupled with finals and other dumb things, and I've just kinda felt numb in my hands. How is everyone else though?!

So, in the news, Dev is having a bit of a squabble between a few people about drawing bland fanart and originality in art.

I'm gonna try to play Switzerland on this.. here goes....!
Overall, I think theres waaaaaay to big a deal out of all this than it really needs to be. Ramy is bent out of shape for one comment made by FAK. Seeing as how Ramy's page has just under 1.5 million page views and 30k watchers, it leads me to think that at least "a few" people like his works. However FAK puts Ramy on the spotlight in his journal, which was kinda inappropriate too (especially seeing as how Dev can be a pretty sensitive place).

More than them though, I just don't like the amount of fans getting themselves involved, trashing or boycotting ("You're not on my DevWatch anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111" ) either artist.

One thing about this mess I love is how in the real world when a bad review is given, artists usually shrug it off and/or learn from it. Instead we get dev-politics rolling into it and have a 2 second crayon drawing on the "Today's Favorites".

I say this as someone who tends to draw fanart with a ratio of 3:1, so yeah I draw it almost all the time too. But I definitely believe in a freedom of expression: both in art and words. But man, do something a bit more resourceful than make a fuss. We all have opinions that someone isn't going to like, but you don't need to take action to right a "wrong" that can't really be helped (in this case, "opinions"). FAK isn't going to retract his statement, and even if he did, you know it wouldn't be serious.

Sorry if even this journal offends anyone, particularly supporters of whoever's cause.
But c'mon children, lets all play nice.

Woo! If things go alright, sometime this week will be my first 1k page views. Only 6,199,999,000 till I've roughly reached the entire planet!!!
I'm feeling ambitious with this.

So anyways, in other news. College is ruining my life by not allowing me to live it. Its not so much that the work is hard, in fact its easy: but then it gets to be easy that its boring and you don't wanna do it until 2AM of the day its due. Its true.

Since long journals are usually unread, I'll leave this weeks update at that (I also have nothing else to say: homework is prety much the only thing going on in my life right now T__T)

Its amazing to see the amount of talent on this website, but I hate the large amount that get neglected: the truly good original works and variety of mediums being lost to the "popularity-contest" aspect of Deviant Art. And despite my love for the game: Kingdom Hearts is a serrriious offender, lol.
I should practice what I preach (I've done KH fanart...plenty a time xD), but I do mean this in good tone. I love Deviant Art and everything it represents. If DA was tangible outside the computer screen Id hug it.

Ah well, aside that, I'm int he same boat as others: lots of school, too much homework and I've lost my creativity because of it (which is when fanart comes into play, lol).
