alright, so has anyone heard about the latest issue here in texas. well i have and it's really pissing me off.

well, our state government is at a standstill currently because all the democrats but four in our state legislature have decided to run away and hide in oklahoma.

apparently, they're not happy with a redistricting bill the rebublicans are pushing right now which they feel is unfair. so they have sworn to stay in oklahoma untill the bill dies.

this is of course illegal and more importantly immorral. they were nearing the end of a limited session, in which they still have to make decisions on a 10 billion dollar state defacit and educational issues among many important others. if the governor, rick perry, has to call a special session when the democrats get back, it will cost the state, and its tax payers, millions of dollars, which it obviously doesn't have.

personally i find this highly selfish and immature. they are throwing a temper tantrum because they didn't feel thinngs were going to go there way, while millions of tax dollars, and throngs of people in need are at stake. granted, the republican proposal might not have been the fairest ever made, but while the democratic party had majority over the republicans, which was better than a decade, the republicans never pulled a stunt like this. not anything that would hurt texas citizens this much. they have always stood and fought what they felt was unfair, never did they run and hide from any issue.

if the democrats had stayed within texas jurisdiction, they would have been arrested for intentionally thwarting a quorum. however, since they are not, the FBI is being considered to apprehend the missing lawmakers.

in my opinion, they should serve jail time. although, through this irrational tactic, i beleive they have revealed to texans their true motives and intentions, and have probably lost the support, trust and respect of the majority of the population.

i dunno, just a phrase thats been floating around in my head all day. but myquestion is this:

does the end always have to be bitter?

righto, so i just started playing drums for this new band we're forming. we play primarily intelligent metal / progressive rock. pretty complex stuff. now, heres the question. we've toyed around with some names for the band and they've pretty much settled on "Dead Air". i wanna know if you think this is a decent name, if it seems to fit our type of band, if its completely gay, etc. or if you have any better suggestions, i would love to hear those.
