Speechless, speechless, just speechless...

That's exactly how I feel when I've heard the passing of the King of Pop-Michael Jackson, arguably the greatest entertainer of all time and a stunning career spanning over 4 decades. Since everyone are aware of his passing, I won't go into that as I'm still in shock and sad as every fans out there. Instead of grieving over his departure, I prefer to talk about what Michael Jackson means to me since I've been a fan to his musics and signature dance-Moonwalk since 1980s.

My folks has been big fans of Michael Jackson's heydays as the lead singer of the Jackson 5 band back in the late 1960s till 1970s. In those days, they listen and rave to hits like "ABC", "Ben", "I'll be there" and "Dance Machine". Michael who still barely make it to puberty then was already a big name in the 70s music scene and the Jackson 5 continue to produce more hits until Michael went on a solo career in the 80s with singles "Rock with you" and "Don't stop till you get enough"

As an 80s child, my first Michael Jackson experience was the MTV of his "Billie Jean" single, the catchy bass line and glowing pathways still live in my memory since the first time I saw it. Then came the zombie infested MTV-"Thriller" that haunts every TV screens across the world and became the biggest selling record of all time with a whooping 109 million copies worldwide. Later, his explosive "Beat It" single that features gang violence and an ultra cool electric guitar background, followed by "Bad" and "Man in the Mirror" in 1987. At that time, kids and teens were so wild over his high-pitched falsettos "Owwww" and uncanny dance that goes backward, which only later known as "Moonwalk" and it was further immortalized in his 1988 "Moonwalker" musical that features more MTV hits like "The Way You Make Me Feel", "Speed Demon", "Leave Me Alone" and "Smooth Criminal". But to me, the most memorable feature about Moonwalker would be Michael transformed into a robot, taking out a drug cartel single handed and save 3 kids before flying off as a space ship. Oh, let's not forget the Lancia Stratos Zero sportcar he morphed into.

After a long absence in the music industry, Michael made a huge comeback in 1991 with his "Dangerous" album and a new look with bleached white skin for his "Black or White" single that touches on racism issues and promoting racial harmony. I was like "Wow" he changes his black skin to white just to prove a point and become that single. Although other hits like "Remember the Time" and "Jam" are cool, "Heal the World" make a greater impact and still a memorable tune to sing at any worldly charitable events. The 1993 live interview with Michael by Oprah Winfrey offers more insightful views into his personal thoughts, Neverland Ranch and he even flashed his signature "Moonwalk" live, real and no tricks at all.

Like every legends, they rise to the pinnacle of their times and fall from grace. Michael was labeled by medias as a pedophile after he was accused of child-molestation by Jordan Chandler-a kid who lived with Michael in his Neverland ranch. Despite his acquittal, his tarnished image continues to deteriorate with mounting public scrutiny fueled by tabloid allegations. Not even his short-lived marriage to Lisa-Marie Presley can shun all that and since then, the world also remember Michael as a closet pedophile with an obsession of his looks, due to multiple plastic surgeries he had over the years.

The HIStory comeback in 1995 was loud and big as his previous tours but only came out to be more like a compilation of his greatest hits along with new singles like "You are not Alone" and "Earth Song" which touches on environmental issues. Later, a duet with his sister Janet Jackson in "Scream" followed by "They don't really care about us". Michael' transition to fatherhood came after he marries Deborah Jeanne Rowe (later divorced) who gave birth to 2 children-Prince and Paris. In 2001, followed by the 9/11 incident, his "Invincible" album had a shaky start after label dispute with Sony but things still go well with charts-topping singles "You Rock My World", "Butterflies" and "Cry". But my personal favourites are "The Lost Children" and "Whatever Happens" where Carlos Santana plays the background guitar.

No matter how the world sees him, whether as a celebrity, a pedophile, an immature childish man or a freakshow with no nose, it doesn't change the fact that his musics and explosive performances still rock us to our core even after the "Thriller" tour 2 decades ago. Aside than always being a trend setter who spearhead the music industry, Michael Jackson is also known for his humanitarian activities across the globe. His love for lives, primarily children was his greatest asset and also his Achilles' foot that often land him in various pedophile scandals and lawsuits. Not to mention his vanity for keeping his young looks that too...

On the Saturday night of 28th March 2009, it’s the world’s first ever global election called Earth Hour, where votes across the world are cast in between Earth and Global Warming. How to vote for Earth? Just simply turns off your house lights for an hour (8.30PM to 9.30PM) to show your support, leaving them on if you support Global Warming.

The Earth Hour campaign is a movement initiated by the World Wild life Fund organisation to urge world leaders and nations to take action against global warming by gathering voices around the world regardless of races, nationalities, ideals and religions to show that everyone across the globe are greatly concern about the global warming effects. The plan is simple: to gather over 1 billion “Lights Off” votes by broadcasting messages to ask people to turn off unessential lights at homes and indoor public areas as voting for Earth. The vote results will be presented at the Global Climate Change Conference, which will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark on December, 2009. The meeting will also determine official government policies to take actions against global warming and to replace the Kyoto protocol, which often accused of either delaying growth of the world's industrial democracies or enriching third worlds in what losers claim to be a global socialism initiative.

Not long while ago, I’ve cast in my vote for Earth by turning off the lights in my house for an hour like I’ve got a power cut. It was pretty dark and knowing that I can’t find anything to do at such dark environment, I’ve decided to take my bike and cycle around the area to see whether everyone responds to such call on a global scale. Most houses in my area power down their lights in support for the “Lights Off” campaign, I saw families and friends hanging around in their pajamas and sarongs outside at night, chatting while enjoying the night breezes. So these are what I’ve encountered on this eventful night:

1. As I was cycling around the block, I noticed most houses has indeed power down their lights indoors but not all lights are powered down with many still leaving their garden lamps and lights at porches and verandas on.

2. On the road, families in cars are roaming around the neighbourhood catching glimpses of dim lighted houses while turning on their headlights at full beam and releasing more greenhouse gases into the air.

3. I rode my bike to the shops area and notice that most shops are voting for Global Warming by leaving their lights on. Such shops are restaurants, supermarkets, 7-eleven, cybercafes and a Petronas gas station. Who cares? They are among the greenhouse gases emitters.

4. I stopped by at the field to catch my breath and came across teenagers hanging out with their friends in darkness with their cell phone lights flashes; some even tried to throw basketballs into dunks without lights, which come close to blind men playing basketball.

5. A couple watching their children from a 50 feet distance and the kids had a Chihuahua as their watchdog. Don’t they know that they couldn’t catch up in time to stop a kidnapper from abducting their children at such a distance?

6. Outside my neighbourhood, most buildings are still keeping their lights on and the most significant of all is the golf range for golf amateurs to practice their drives. Gee, why can’t weekend sports goofs just take an hour off and do their bid for Earth?

7. I’ve came across a Malay house and saw children playing flares, fireworks and firecrackers left over from last year’s Hari Raya. Wow, more greenhouse gases released into the air.

8. I’ve just came back from an annual grave visiting, where Chinese burn incense joss sticks and paper-made money, clothes and stuffs for the dead. I must say, Chinese are indeed really terrible polluters for all the open burnings they committed every year.

9. I’ve bumped into many trashes littered on the streets and it weren’t so easy to spot the trashes on the roads in such dim environment.

10. It turns out that the night during the “Lights Off” campaign is not as cooler than massive black outs which occurred over the years as there still too many unwanted lights left on in my neighbourhood to generate heat.

With the ongoing broadcast of Earth Hour’s “Lights Off” campaign, I think it’s quite a success that the commercials are able to get most people to turn their lights off at home and even shopping malls are doing that in show of support for Earth, pretty well done I must say. However, we have already accelerated the effects of global warming and did nothing to prevent it when this matter was warned more than 20 years ago. Put it in other way, we’ve already sign a death warrant for the extinction of the human races with mass deforestations in North-South America, Africa, Asia and Oceania for oil, urbanization and plantation, which...

First of all, I would like to express my condolences to those who lost their love-ones in the Israel-Palestine conflicts which has been going on for 53 years. May your souls rest in peace and if you could, please rise from your graves and help bring your warring nations together

Last year, I watched "You Don't Mess with the Zohan" where Adam Sandler plays an Israeli Mossad super agent-Zohan who aspires to be a hairdresser like his hero Paul Mitchell but his job always stands in the way. Tired of the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict, Zohan got himself illegally shipped to New York, US to fulfill his dream. There, he started his "bushy" career by working for a small-time hair salon owner Dalia, who is a Palestinian immigrant trying to maintains her little salon in a district of Israeli-Palestinian immigrants eyed by a greedy US industrialist who wish to turns the area into an uptown business hub. The show is pretty corny but it does express the same thoughts what both these nunchunks really want-PEACE

The Devil must be laughing now at how things gone awry between Israel and Palestine, even I also find it comedic as the cycle of violence never stops spinning with both sides hurling bombs and rockets against each other. Yesterday Hamas launched rocket attacks into Israel, today Israel launches missile attacks against Hamas targets, tomorrow Hamas will sends suicide bombers into Israel cities and it goes on and on and on... So what's new with these 2 muthafuckas? Both refuse to live side by side, the people are demanding ceasefire truces but they paid no attentions to the truces because both have gone deaf with the sounds of boom boom boom. Man, Malaysian suicide bombers :[link] can shake hands with them too if they still have any...

I really miss the days of the ongoing Israel-Palestine peace treaty where the late Yitzhak Rabin of Israel was working close together with the late Yasser Arafat of Palestine to achieve total peace between their nations as they see both nations are brothers of the same land. Peace between these nations was almost a reality until Rabin was murdered by Israeli ultra-rightists in Tel Aviv. Arafat alone couldn't fulfill the peace deal with the hardliners from both sides keep pressing in and at the end, the peace treaty went to the shredder. Since then, things went back to square one where attacks-retaliations incidents occurred thrice in every month and the recent Israelis' so-called retaliations against Hamas' rocket attacks are nothing more but regular dailies for both nations. War is business, that's what they live on.

At the end, both nations got themselves to blame for all the catastrophes they committed. The Israeli government must seek to revive peace talks left unfinished by predecessors of both sides since they got the bigger stick than the Palestinians. The Hamas government must renounces its offensive stand against Israel and choose to live side by side in harmony. Otherwise, Hamas is just another typical band of thieves who refused to give up on making ransom moneys and they aren't honouring the late Arafat's will for peace.

And to other nations around the world(including my country Malaysia) who pick sides with either of these 2 nations, FUCK YOU TOO

Why? Because everyone are just good at fanning up the heat between these nunchunks because these idiots see the need for wars to help justify their selfish means:

1. Muslim politicians often use the Palestine cause to strengthen their popularity in their country election polls, at the same time show no interests to their own nations'needs

2. The Western nations who are no doubt on the Israel sides, are raking in profits with the increase demands of arms sales. Why not? War profiteering is legal.

3. Militants across the world always used the slogan "Kill all Jews and West" as excuses to recruit bums who are either too lazy to work or just too dumb to know about bombs strapped to their waists. And according to Edhi, whom I mentioned in my previous journal :[link] Militants are only going after for moneys, not jihad.

And now that my country Malaysia has call on locals (mainly Muslims)to boycott US products like the previous call to boycott Danish's, I would REALLY like to see them to relinquish their chairman positions and 30 percent equities at various local US companies like KFC, McD, Starbucks, Pizzahut, Dunkin'Donuts, Levi's, Coke, AIA etc-all for the plight of Palestinians...

No matter how wrong or righteous each sides are, it's a never-ending cycle of violence between Israel and Palestine. The whole world is also to be blamed for being war...

Found this article via online:

"This is an interview Seiji Mizushima, director of Gundam 00, spoke of the tremendous pressures of creating a Gundam series, the constant criticism made of the show online, and even how the Internet’s “knee jerk” negativity lowers the creative motivation of the production staff.

The lengthy interview was conducted as part of Nikkei Business Online’s anime column. The article is nearly three pages long, and is only the first part of the interview posted thus far.

Below is an abridged summary, with the interviewer’s questions in bold:

1. The creation of Mobile Suit Gundam 00 can be called a monumental project, as it is a continuation of the epochal Mobile Suit Gundam series, a series embraced by people ranging from 10 year olds to those in their 50sÂ

Mizushima: Honestly, I was extremely happy (to become the series’ director). As I am in my early 40s, I was part of the generation that was brought up watching the original Mobile Suit Gundam series. I was not very familiar with the details of the Gundam franchise, but ever since entering the anime production business I’ve wanted to work on a Gundam show at least once. I think a lot of people (in the industry) feel the same way. Right now, it is an honor to be in charge of a Gundam series, but on the other hand it does also feel like putting one’s hands into the fire at times.

2. Fire? What do you mean by that?

Mizushima: Creating a new Gundam series entails a large “risk” for the creator. Since it is such a major title, the creative staff is not free to exercise much freedom in the show’s creation, and the staff must always be on their guard.

3. Do you feel a lot of pressure from Gundam fans?

Mizushima: We continuously hear from the fans things like “Gundam isn’t like that! This Gundam is no good!”

4. I see. It must be a lot like in the automobile industry, where a big name company changes an old model and fans of the old model are distraught.

Mizushima: Certainly the expectations are set very high for such a big property (like Gundam) Much like what would happen when a change is made to a famous car model, voices of “No, I’d prefer it to be like this…” are heard. We in the production staff would prefer to hear positive comments, but that isn’t the case. The “knee jerk” reactions are more like “What the hell is this?” or “That’s uncool.”

5. Why exactly do you think they’re “knee jerk” reactions?

Mizushima: Well, they’re not criticisms based on close inspection of the product, or by closely following the story, but rather by merely looking at pictures (of the show) and superficial appearance. Right now, the Internet is a place where commentary of the series travels extremely fast. Whether it is positive or negative, talk travels quickly there. The people that want to flame the show approached the series right from the start from the vector of “I hate it”, and on the Internet they can find other sympathetic people with which to search for points of shared dislike. They’ve already gotten on the “flow of hate”, and so there’s really no helping it.

6. Are you really aware of all the Internet discussions?

Mizushima: Yes. A lot of the production staff is aware of the comments, and so the Internet flaming does lower their motivation, make no mistake about that.

7. Does that sort (of criticism) tend to only happen on the Internet?

Mizushima: It’s more obvious on the Internet. More so than on blogs, it’s especially prevalent on anonymous bulletin boards. Those knee jerk reactions don’t really go up on personal blogs, but more on these bulletin boards where tons of people gather and can post under anonymous pseudonyms. A lot of flaming directed towards films, books, musical artists and the like can be found there. I sometimes think those people simply dislike anything that’s selling well. Thus, I think instead of calling them “Anti-Gundam 00″, it might be better to call them “Anti-Popular.” I think the approach of not simply watching the show for enjoyment, but rather to criticize it from the very beginning is something that is especially noticeable on the Internet. On the medium of the Internet, the sentiments of animosity towards major works is very strong, I feel.

The interview does continue on for over another page, but no new topic is introduced and the remainder is mostly composed of Mizushima discussing Internet anonymity, and the possible explanations for what drives Internet users to post negative comments.

In the sake of brevity, the rest of the interview is not shown here, but if the next installment contains more commentary as interesting as this, you can expect to see it covered here."

I've seen a lot of major flops in movies and animations and this is probrably the...

And don't say I didn't warn you, if you ever plan to visit Malaysia.

(Malaysia's 'worst in the world' taxis tarnish national image

The ads promoting "Malaysia: Truly Asia" aim to welcome visitors with a warm smile to a prosperous and modern nation, so the taxi fleet branded "the worst in the world" can come as a bit of a shock.

Even the locals are not spared the shabby service of unkempt and hostile drivers behind the wheels of decrepit vehicles who refuse to use the meter, overcharge and pick-and-choose which destinations they will travel to.

At the popular KLCC mall under Kuala Lumpur's iconic Petronas Twin Towers is a typical scene, as a gang of cabbies negotiate with a young Norwegian couple just metres from a signboard warning against "taxi touts".

"Flat rate, flat rate, no metre," one driver insists as the tourists try to find a cab to take them to their hotel, less than two kilometres (1.2 miles) away.

Anxious to escape the baking heat, they agree to pay 25 ringgit (7.22 dollars) for a trip that would have cost less than three ringgit on the meter.

"Is it expensive? We don't know, we thought it is normal here," said the woman as they piled in with their shopping bags.

More frequent visitors, however, are vocal in their criticism and say that aggressive and unprofessional drivers are tarnishing the nation's image as a squeaky clean and hospitable destination.

"I first visited Malaysia in 2006 and I was impressed by everything I saw except for the worst taxi service I have endured," said Kabir Dali, an Indian tourist waiting in vain for a metered taxi at another mall.

"I paid a whopping 260 ringgit (74 dollars) from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport to town and was later told that was twice the proper amount."

Complaints about taxis are common in many countries, but in Malaysia it has escalated to an outpouring of frustration, on blog sites and in letters to newspapers.

In a survey by the local magazine The Expat, some 200 foreigners from 30 countries rated Malaysia the worst among 23 countries in terms of taxi quality, courtesy, availability and expertise.

The respondents lashed the fleet as "a source of national shame" and "a serious threat to tourists -- rude bullies and extortionists".

Salvation is in sight though, as a number of smaller, up-scale operators enter the market to provide a more expensive but quality taxi service for frustrated visitors and locals.

The uniformed drivers, behind the wheels of smart new multi-purpose vehicles and sedans, switch on the meter as a matter of course and do not refuse destinations -- surprising and delighting commuters in the capital.

Abdul Razak, operations manager for Dubai-based Citicab which launched here in January, said that even in poorer nations such as Thailand and Indonesia, taxis are smarter and the drivers far more courteous.

"I would say it is the worst in this region, undoubtedly. I have travelled to all countries in this region and our company operates taxis in many parts of the world. The situation here is the worst I have seen," he told AFP.

"The vehicles are in shabby condition, the driver will take you if he likes your face -- that is, if he agrees with where you want to go for the price he insists on."

The government has called on taxi firms to lift their standards, but various campaigns have achieved little, and many blame the lack of enforcement on rampant corruption in the police and bureaucracy.

"It is difficult for the roads and traffic department to take stern action," said a security officer at one city mall as he watched the touts swoop.

"Taxi operators and the company which hold the licences are all linked to some politician or another," he said. "Drivers here are ruthless because they are unchecked by authorities who are almost non-existent."

John Koldowski, from the Pacific Asia Travel Association, said that "less than desirable" taxi drivers have an outsize impact on a nation's image.

"The first contact a tourist gets with locals is often during airport transits to hotels and it creates a very, very strong first impression, either be good or bad," he said.

"Authorities certainly need to do their jobs and act upon any complaints strongly, quickly and visibly.")

Really, I simply don't trust cabbies in my own country either. In fact most Malaysians don't trust cabbies at all, despite an advertising campaign to instill proper behaviours among our local cabbies here.

Seriously, I wish that the new government would set up soon as the current one did such a lousy job at governance, arresting bloggers with ISA not the racist Ahmad Ismail who made racist remarks about non-malays being "Squatters" and more corruptions among th...

After an eventful of 16 Olympian days, the flames at the Bird Nest Stadium, Beijing has finally ceased and the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games is officially declared over. Soon, we shall see the flames rise again at the next upcoming 2012 Olympic Games in London, UK.

The 2008 Beijing Olympic Games has not only been a tremendous success for China's athletes who won 51 gold medals but also a historic monumental event for both mainland and foreign Chinese citizens. With the successfully accomplished monumental task, China has proved herself capable of hosting worldly events and achieve 1st world status despite of biased scrutiny on alleged poor human rights records and lack of religious freedoms portrayed by protesters.

To me, China is always the biggest elephant everyone loves to lay the blame onto and every year it's all the same worldly illnesses:

-Poor human rights records by Amnesty International
-Injustice to Tibet by the Dalai-Lama and free-Tibet protesters
-Lack of religious freedoms by the western Christian missionaries
-Lack of media freedoms by the world press

Okay, listen to this. Such worldly illnesses aren't only found in China. For example:

-Poor human rights records are also common in the US where coloured people are forever marginalized, non-Christians like Muslims are deemed terrorists and anything foreign like animes would be subjected to Americanization to fit into the All-American society. That also includes Japan for their racial biases against GAIJINS and refuse to speak ENGLISH.
-Injustices to Tibetans? Puh-leaze, during the reign of Dalai-Lama monarchy, the peasants' lives were even more SHIT because they were at the lowest rung in Tibetan Feudal caste system. The Chinese Revolution has changes all that and even the Dalai-Lama admits that Tibetan lives have improved a lot. What more, Tibet has always been part of China thousands years ago.
-Lack of religious freedom? Or I should put it as religious fraudulence where priests and ministers slept with worshipers' wives to exorcise evils. What more, Islamic countries are full of these mullahs who abuse Islam for MONEY and their selfish dominance over their people and prosecute other religions deemed infidels.
-Oh wait, Islamic countries are full of poor media freedom because anything infidel like western elements are against Islam and would be banned.

So as you can see, these political douchebags are full of shits and they enjoy throwing shits at each other when they're shitting in their pants. What a laugh!

At the end, the Olympic shouldn't be politicized for selfish and narrow-minded purposes. The Olympic is a game for all and serves as a beacon of hope for any nations who is given the privileges to host it in the name of world harmony and unity where athletes compete with each other in the spirit of sportsmanship regardless of races, religions and genders. With the Beijing Olympics, China now joins ranks together with other nations under the 2008 Beijing Olympic theme:

"One World, One Dream"

That's a wrap for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and see you soon at the 2012 London Olympic Games. Till then, cheerio

After reading a deviant own comments on his artwork where he stressed more on hard works and perseverance other than being talented. Ask him about talent, he tells you "No such thing"

There he shows a picture which he did when he was 14 and a current piece he just worked on. Of course the old piece is not as good as the current and that shows he has matured through time and trials. He hopes to convey a message on improving your art where it's not that you're not talented, it's because you haven't try hard enough or you're not interested at all. Try hard at something and soon you will learn to enjoy it. Simple as that.

Unfortunately, there are faggots who just want the EASY short-cuts and will do anything for petty fame. Being this is DA, such delusional perceptions like the more pageviews you get, the more popular you're. Okay, if it's pageviews you want so badly, how are you going to earn it?

The Hard way:
-Practice hard and go through hellish art lessons environment to sharpen your skills.
-Take as much straight comments as you can endure to learn more about pros and cons about your works
-Be critical to yourself that you still can be better.

The Easy way:
-Just scanned or ripped any bishie pictures you can find, trace it over Photoshop, change the colours and throw in some cat ears and tails if you wish.
-Just ripped any Gundam linearts, cut them up, paste them all over and recolour it so that no one can tells that this is stolen.

Like this one here, I can see that he did try at drawing at all[link]
Except he finds it too much works to learn from scratches and so he went on plagiarizing Gundam linearts and it turns out like this[link]
Wow, he thinks. This is so much easier to make great looking mechs and that's how it all started.

I leave that for you to decide and for those who thinks I'm just cheating as you FRANKAMUTHAFUCKAS where I also ripped other designs for my own creation, carry on. I don't give a shit, because I know I've never lie to myself like you weeaboos did all the time at Mechatalk forum and here's one of the rules at that mechatalk under ART(FRANKEN) MULTIMEDIA site:

"4. Do not plagiarize another artist's work and attempt to pass it off as your own. Any threads found to have artistic fraud will be deleted."

So, where's the douchebag who wrote this?
(Laugh if you must)

In conclusion, there are no short-cuts to success and it takes a lot of hard works to make that happen. Simple as that except dickheads took it like 30 years to understand, so it is better not to develop a crutch mentality, stand up on your own.

I'm writing this in response to the Star's OtakuZone article titled "Misunderstood Characters" which highlights the recent Animax Asia 2008 convention held in One Utama Mall, Damansara, Malaysia and also looking into cosplayers lamenting about the negative vibes they're getting from parents and public.

As the article goes, many local Malaysian cosplayers are lamenting over the negative scrutiny and biased views they endured over the years when Anime-Manga took Malaysia and the rest of the world by storm years ago. They felt that people still have discrimination against them cosplayers and most parents felt it was all waste of time and money. In this growing cosplaying enthusiasism, one couldn’t help being called a FREAK and cosplayers always insisted that they did nothing wrong. Animax Asia general manager, Gregory Ho says that’s the kind of endeavour and creativity Animax is trying to foster among its young viewers and they do it because they believe there’s more to life than just studies and sports and it’s a good way to instill creativity.

I can see that kind of passion can really take you to and it’s quite good for young people as well where they can live in the fictional world of their favourite anime shows and mangas as their favourite characters. What more, it’s really nice of Animax Asia to organize such an event for them to gather and rejoice.

Except there are facts here which they should really ponder into, aside from the organized confests, competitions and fan services, the real questions are

IS MALAYSIA READY TO TAKE ON THE ANIMATION-COMIC-GAMES BUSINESS SERIOUSLY?
ARE OUR LOCAL ARTISTIC TALENTS HERE CAPABLE OF COMPETING WITH OTHER NATIONS ON A GLOBAL SCALE?
HOW DO MALAYSIAN-MADE ANIMATIONS-COMICS-GAMES FARE IN THIS INTERNATIONAL TRADE?

Instead of just covering otakus’ complains and whines over public discrimination, I just don’t see any efforts to promote our local talents here to attract major ACG companies local and overseas to invest here in Malaysia. Animax can say that they’re promoting local talents in medias but to those who’ve been to the event, all they found is nothing more than superficial fan services. And speaking of the con organized by Animax Asia this year, I can describe it like this
“Terrible, terrible, terrible... So horribly pathetic that it's a primary school flea market than an ACG con fest”
Aside from some PS3 games demo, cosplayer stages and only one doujin group from some Damansara high nearby, the rest are of 'Central Market' materials like homemade T-shirts, organic foods, massage chairs and a photo-shoot session for magazine cover girl search. So what kind of sloppy job is Animax Asia really doing around here? Sheesh, yet another lousy event with a FAILED marketing strategy and empty promises made by Animax Asia...

As most Asians’ perceptions on the notion that “You can never make livings with ART”, aspiring artists can never be seen as money making business because ART here isn’t as much appreciated like in the West and Asians are afterall, money-minded. That’s right, all artists ended up drawing and painting portraits in Central Market, Kuala Lumpur. But that doesn’t mean you can’t make living by selling art and the most important question is - HOW YOU DO IT?

ACG industry is one of the biggest business niches in the entertainment industry across the globe and countries like America, Japan, Europe, China and now Singapore is becoming the next ACG hub in South East Asia where companies like LucasArts, KOEI, Dreamworks etc are setting up studios there and hiring talents nearby. So this makes me ponder over Malaysia’s creditability,
WHY WON’T THEY COME HERE SINCE MALAYSIA’S BIGGER AND HAS MORE LANDS THAN SINGAPORE?
There is something SERIOUSLY WRONG about this countryÂ

Aside from the Malaysian government’s political incorrectness that always drives away foreign investors, local otakus here aren’t doing anything to help themselves as they can always dream about going to Japan and work as mangakas drawing comics but without showing any tangible results and keep on sulking and complaining that people are perceiving them as FREAKS. Hell ya, you cosplayers really are FREAKS and even companies like Animax see aspiring budding artists and doujins like of those at KL Central Market – drawing and painting for peanuts with no future. Such hypocrisy, what a laugh!

As long the otakus are happy, who cares how people really think about the freaky things they do?
As long Animax get more exposures and subscriptions to their cable TV network, who cares about the local hidden talents which they can discover other than organizing Halloween parties?
As long you get to party, who cares whether you’re serious about the ACG business or not?
As long you get to steal the show by imitating an anime character, who c...

After getting flamed by overhyped DK fanboys, David Edelstein responds in his column:

" The Dark Knight of My Soul
By David Edelstein for The New Yorker

Fun! Fun! After nine years of anonymous fanboy attacks at Slate whenever I dared to criticize a masterwork like The Mummy Returns (I only wish harm to you and your family), I figured I’d finally escaped the rabid nerd hordes. But they seem to have arrived here en masse — maybe thanks to a Web headline somewhere branding me the author of 'the first negative review of The Dark Knight.' (There have been other negative reviews since.) Comments below the review here and elsewhere have struck similar chords:

1. I am 'an idiot trying to make a name for himself' and get 'hits for his site.'
2. I am a pretentious prick.
3. I am a fag.
4. It's not New York, it's Chicago, fool.
5. My reason for criticizing The Dark Knight is that it is “too dark” when everyone knows that Batman is supposed to be dark.
6. The idea that Heath Ledger went to a bad place to play the Joker shows a dim understanding of actors’ craft.
7. May God have mercy on my soul.

Needless to say, 99 percent of these attacks have come from people who haven’t seen the movie — which is not to say they won’t love it, having so much emotional energy invested in its greatness. (It took awhile for the fanboys to come around to the consensus that The Phantom Menace was inept — I got death wishes for that review, too.) Anyway, Peter Travers says it’s a masterpiece and Heath Ledger should win an Oscar, so that settles that.

The name-calling — idiot, fag, prick — is easy to ignore (and many comments were removed, at least from here, by a moderator), although I’ve always thought PRICK applied to people who resorted to such name-calling in lieu of argument. I can swear on Heath Ledger’s grave that I have never tailored a review — positive or negative — for the sole purpose of making a name for myself. For better or worse, I wouldn’t know how; I’m pathetically limited by what I actually think. Possibly that notoriety brought hits to New York’s site, but I assure you the site and the magazine are doing fine.

As for the New York/Chicago distinction, the film's Gotham City might indeed be modeled on Chicago; the larger point is that it's a real metropolis and not the stylized urban landscape of Burton's (or for that matter, Nolan's first) film.

PRETENTIOUS is tougher to counter. Professional critics, at least good ones, are by definition pretentious, since they value their opinions enough to proclaim them loudly. But in this case, invoking Shaw seems to have elicited some catcalls — even from people who argue that The Dark Knight grapples with big themes that no other comic-book-inspired film has ever touched. The Nolan brothers are well-educated Brits who made their mark with Memento, which reversed the narrative trajectory of a revenge movie to explore the deeper idea of cause-and-effect. Batman Begins stopped dead for the characters to ruminate on the meaning of vigilantism — on the cost-benefit analysis of going outside the law to enforce the law, even when the social order has been corrupted. The Dark Knight is practically a colloquium that takes those arguments a step further, even introducing a character (Two Face) who pivots between Batman-good and Joker-evil. Don Juan in Hell (the core of Shaw’s Man and Superman) is not a precise correlative, but the Joker explicitly fancies himself a Superman (not D.C.’s Superman, fanboys, I’m talking Sadean or Nietzschean) who is beyond rules, beyond justice, beyond God, and wants to engage the mostly-by-the-book Batman on a philosophical level. The fanboys can’t make up their minds: They attack you for snobbery, for treating films like The Dark Knight as unworthy of serious discussion; then they call you a pretentious for engaging with those films beyond the level of “Wow!” (There’s nothing wrong with the level of “Wow!” by the way. I was wowed by the bat-flights in The Dark Knight.)

Did I criticize The Dark Knight for being “too dark?” Not remotely. I said it was dark. But I also said it was jumbled and sadistic and with jolts of brutality to keep you revved up. I said it was so weighed down with its own moral seriousness it turned into a dirge. (At Newsweek, David Ansen said it was impressive and oppressive — and that he wished it were more fun.) Tim Burton’s Batman was certainly dark. It was partially inspired by Frank Miller and by the graphic novel The Killing Joke, but in spite of its compromises and screwups, the vision was all there. Batman was a freak, an addict who couldn’t let go of his private pain, and the movie was designed to conjure up his inner Batcave. I titled my enthusiastic review in the New York Post 'Wings of Desire.' (An editor there changed it to &#039<img src="http://e.deviantart.com...

Even most of the movie reviews I find are rather one sided giving appraisals more than just balance out both pros and cons, while everyone are thinking DK is so cool and awesome, how come I don't find DK cool at all and am I the only one? I find the Joker wasn't enjoyable for both Ledger and me. What more, he's not funny and scary at all, so does mean am I so twisted that I'm find this clown not up to my twisted standards?

Whatever, I try google for honest opinions on DK and what I found are certainly interesting insights regarding with the movie, without catching the DK fever.

"Bat Out of Hell-They don’t make superhero franchises much darker than this.
by David Edelstein for New Yorker Magazine

Even if the death of Heath Ledger hadn’t already draped it in a funeral shroud, The Dark Knight would be a morbid affair: It could only be darker if Batman died. (He does die a little, on the inside.) The director, Christopher Nolan, has decided to get real with the thing. Forget Gotham City—or Anton Furst’s splendid Gothic Gotham of Tim Burton’s Batman, which summoned up the freaky superhero’s inner landscape of vaulted arches and gargoyles. We’re now in a modern, untransformed Manhattan, where the Joker’s opening bank heist unfolds in a tense, realistic style with multiple point-blank shootings. It’s a shock—and very effective—to see a comic-book villain come on like a Quentin Tarantino reservoir dog. But then the novelty wears off and the lack of imagination, visual and otherwise, turns into a drag. The Dark Knight is noisy, jumbled, and sadistic. Even its most wondrous vision—Batman’s plunges from skyscrapers, bat-wings snapping open as he glides through the night like a human kite—can’t keep the movie airborne. There’s an anvil attached to that cape.

Nolan and his brother Jonathan (they co-wrote the script) have a fine, ironic starting point: Batman (Christian Bale) has inspired copycat vigilantes, and they’re making an even bigger mess of crime-plagued Gotham City. It’s as if an action—the introduction of a vigilante do-gooder—has triggered an equal and opposite reaction. And Batman has a true counterforce: a Joker (Ledger) who’s a terrorist, a one-man insurgency, with no motivation except bringing chaos. He fancies himself a Lord of Misrule; he taunts the gangsters whose goons he exploits; and he assassinates—or works to corrupt—do-gooders like cleft-chinned district attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart). Batman—talons tied by pesky ethics—can’t stanch the madness.

On paper, the morality play is intriguing, but a lot of the dialogue should have stayed on paper (I can imagine a study guide: “The Joker tells Batman he can’t fight chaos because he has too many ‘rules.’ Do those rules ultimately help or hinder Batman in his quest for justice?&#148. Nolan is grappling with the Big Themes of vigilantism (especially urban vigilantism), and he did pretty well in Batman Begins: The movie was a foundation on which to build a new series; even in the mouth of the ridiculously chirpy Katie Holmes (as Rachel Dawes, stalwart assistant D.A.), the thesis line, “Justice is about harmony. Revenge is about making yourself feel better,” made an excellent superhero mantra. But the psychological twists in The Dark Knight—especially the transformation of Dent into “Two-Face”—are baffling as drama. They play as if they’d been penned by Oxford philosophy majors trying to tone up a piece of American pop—to turn it into an uncivil Shavian dialogue, Don Juan in Hell with mutilations and truck crashes.

Oh, the verbiage probably wouldn’t matter if those truck crashes were any fun, but the tumult is spectacularly incoherent. Nolan appears to have no clue how to stage or shoot action. He got away with the chopped-up fights in Batman Begins because his hero was a barely glimpsed ninja, coming at villains from all angles in stroboscopic flashes. There are more variables here, which means more opportunities to say “What the f--- just happened?” I defy you to make spatial sense of the early scene in which Batman battles faux Batmen, gangsters, and the Scarecrow (Cillian Murphy in a cameo that comes to nothing). If you can, move on to Level 2, diagramming the “Bat-tank versus Joker-truck versus cop car” chase. Then, finally, take the Ultimate Challenge: following the climax with Batman, the Joker, more faux Batmen, decoy hostages dressed as clowns, a SWAT team, and Morgan Freeman’s Lucius with some kind of sonar monitoring gizmo that tracks all the parties on video screens. Actually, Freeman looks like he knows what’s goin...

Also, you can see 8 on car number plates where it can be a full "8888".

Aside from being an auspicious number, 8 is also widely used for insults. "Ba-Po" (nosey-bitch) meant to scold women who won't mind their own business and gossip a lot, "San-Ba" is another version of it. "Wang-Ba" means jack-ass or jerk-off and the turtle or tortoise is usually associate with 8 to add oil to fire by calling a man got no balls.

It's been like 4 months since the Beijing Olympic Torch run begins and the Torch has gone thru many obstacles like pro-Tibet+human rights protests, weather and smog. Despite all that, none of these hypocrisies can stop the spirit of Chinese unity from both mainland and aboard as the Chinese all over the world are showing their undying support for the Beijing games and in the spirit of sportsmanship.

The Olympics, whether held anywhere even on the moon or Mars, is a game of unity for the human race regardless of racial, religious and language differences. It's a game where everyone around world to compete with each other in name of sportsmanship and to an athlete, the game is a testament for him/her to taste the fruit of their hard works and painstaking trainings. Most important of all, it's game which promotes world peace and harmony to all mankind for ages.
As most of you may have heard that "Dragon Ball"-the popular anime-manga-game by Akira Toriyama is about to hit the screens in live-action form for the first time by 2009 next year, playing Son-Goku the main man is Justin Chatwin, Chow YunFatt will plays the perverted Master Roshi, Emma Possum will plays as Bulma and James Marsters will be the movie's big villain- Lord Piccolo. How about that?

I'm sure most of you have mixed feelings regarding this 'live' action Dragon Ball movie which is directed and produced by James Wong and Stephen Chow of "Kung-Fu Soccer" and "Kung-Fu Hustle" fame, as Hollywood is about to mess up your childhood favourite manga.

Well, to be frank. I was an avid reader on Dragon Ball mangas when I was a kid and before I came to know Dragon Ball, I was more into "Dr Slump" and "City Hunter" as Akira Toriyama and Hojo Tsukasa were well known for their pervert jokes and slap sticks in their mangas. Back in those days, being "Bishie" and love "SailorMoon" are only for GIRLS and SISSIES...

The Dragonball story starts with SonGoku, the boy-wonder with a tail meets Bulma, the city girl genius and together they embark on a journey to gather all the Dragonballs to grant wishes. Along their journey they bumped into the perverted Master Roshi, Haka the pig who can changes into anything, Yamcha the bandit, Krillin etc. After more than 2 decades, I realize I enjoy the first part better where Goku in his little form as there were more laughs and pervert jokes which typically Toriyama's signature like his Dr Slump. What more, I personally prefer Bulma than Chi-Chi and I wonder what will happens if Bulma is married to Goku, not Vegeta? Aw come on, brains and muscles-the perfect match!

Things changed in Z after Goku grows into this tall muscular superman in his fight against Piccolo Jr which was his first title of the International Martial Arts Championship. Toriyama switches from comedy adventure to US superheroes style where supermen with awesome superpowers defend Earth from terrible threats. SonGoku who later becomes a Super Seiyan fighter aka the Golden warrior which later become a cult icon to many otakus. DC's Energized Superman maybe the closest thing to that.

Dragon Ball used to have an identity of its own, until Toriyama started to adopt the American superheroes way where muscles, awesome powers and mass destruction, which add strong flavours to the manga and everyone loves it. Now how can you state that animes aren't copying the West?

Unfortunately for Toriyama, his post-Dragon Ball comics like Cowa!, Cashman and some Invader-Zim-like alien guy aren't able to live up to the Dragon Ball's big name after the serialized manga ended in 1997/98. Post-Majin wars were later followed by numbers of OVAs which feature the Super Seiyan 4 warrior and later a more powerful combined version. What more, those Dragon Ball old days were back as PS2 games where you can either play in story mode or random fights. Talk about spamming... And speaking of spamming, it's Hollywood's turn to spam the franchise. Oh wait, actually there was a HongKong+Phillipines joint production live action movie back in 1989 where Master Roshi stays true to his manga version, Chow YunFatt? BOOOOO... When the idea of a live-action Dragon Ball movie by Hollywood was announced back then, the first thing that comes to me is "Oh crap, they will screw this up" and my worst fear comes true when pictures of this live-action movie are shown on the net. You can see them at this site:[link]
In addition with Stephen Chow's last movie "CJ7", which is nothing more but a Spielberg's pirated ET copycat movie being such a disaster, I couldn't find myself going to the cinemas and watch this Dragonball at all because Hollywood and Stephen Chow are both recipes for disaster. Guess the 1989 version I've watched back then was much more enjoyable...

They say that "Old is Gold" and sometimes it's true when the student fails to outdo his/hers master. A remake must either live up or surpass the original ones in terms of story telling and art direction, only then it's a box office success. Whether will I change my mind about this Dragon Ball movie? Nah, I rather stick with WALL-E instead...

Quote from WIKI:

4 (four) is a number, numeral, and glyph. It is the natural number following 3 and preceding 5. Four is the only number in the English language for which the number of letters in its name is equal to the number itself. This is also true in several other languages, such as German, Afrikaans, Dutch, and Flemish, as "vier". Four is the smallest composite number, its proper divisors being 1 and 2. Four is also a highly composite number. Four is the second square number, the second centered triangular number.

-2+2=2x2=4
-YHWH, FOUR letters tetragrammaton for GOD
-The FOUR Matriarchs (foremothers) of Judaism are Sarah, Rebeccah, Leah, and Rachel.
-The FOUR Arch Angels in Islam are: Jibraeel (Gabriel), Mikaeel (Michael), Izraeel (Azrael), and Israfil (Raphael)
-The FOUR Species (lulav, hadass, aravah and etrog) are taken as one of the mitzvot on the Jewish holiday of Sukkot.
-The FOUR Horsemen of the Apocalypse ride in the Book of Revelation.
-The FOUR Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
-The Chinese and the Japanese are superstitious about the number FOUR because it is a homonym for "Death" in their languages (SHI)...

The list is bloody long, so look it up on WIKI for number 4.

Being ethically Chinese, we are REALLY superstitious with number 4 and that's why you don't find "4" and "14" in elevators of most Chinese-run buildings as "4" is pronounced "Shi" (S-z-z-z), where the "Death" word character also falls under the SAME pronunciation and it still sounds the SAME even with other dialects. Therefore, 4 is bad LUCK. CHOI!

You know what? There are some truths in those superstitions and it does make senses with this 4 letters- CHAN

I'm sure you've heard of 4chan-one of the largest imageboard where you can post any sort of craps and rules won't be applied even if you've make these 4 BANEs:
Racism, Insults, Blasphemies or even show pictures of your parents NAKED, you won't get sued 'coz you're ANONYMOUS. At 4chan, people call you a TRIPFAG is because "if you post anonymously by default but choose to gain a sense of identity in your posting, it most likely means that you are an attention grubbing whore who has their heart on being a board celebrity rather than actually contributing anything worthwhile." Gee, that also makes ANONYMOUS the biggest TRIPFAG of all...

Aside from the CHANs, not everything fell under FOOL, FLAW, FLOP, FOUL. There are also the GOOD sides of 4 where things are FINE and NICE, as long we KEEP practice the GOOD things while keep correcting our FLAWs and learn from our FLOPs. Only then you can prove the Chineses' superstitions are FAKE. I've JUST VOTE a friend's artwork which catergorized as "Manga 4" by typing "4" in my SMS VOTE, may the best WORK wins and I WISH her LUCK.

In conclusion, people always abuse things in life selfishly and make FOOLs of themselves. Be it FREE imageboards or FREE mecha linearts where you can do anything with it and who the HELL cares? Of course nobody cares except the examples you show can either be GOOD or FOUL to others.

"If a man's conduct is wrong, his FLAWs will be SEEN like the Solar Eclipse; if he corrects himself, the REST will LOOK up to him"

EASY to understand, eh?

"...why so serious? Let's put a smile on that face"

Such words which you've only heard from the late Heath Ledger's brand of Gotham city's famous criminal-the Joker. To be frank, I wasn't so hot with Christopher Nolan's "Batman: The Dark Knight" after the first "Begin" was such a boyscout movie with the ever blabbering Ra's Al-Ghul lecturing Bruce Wayne with his stashes. But the day when the Joker's actor-Heath Ledger died of drug overdose by accident, which sort of fans up DK's popularity with the late actor's pool of fans and further instill public desires to see just how good DK really is. So the DK movie's popularity actually based on a dead man's legacy? Why are we watching DK for? To pay tribute to the late-Ledger? Oh wow, I can see the whole cinema filled with fans holding candles in their hands in memorial of Ledger... Gimme a break, the movie isn't a memorial service.

Throughout the whole movie, the Joker is the pivot point where chaos and mayhem fall out of everywhere with the Joker's the one holding all the cards and it takes a sheer stroke of genius to drive the whole city completely wacko. Hence the word, ANARCHY. Although the whole point of the Joker's message is that:
Insanity is when a person is being driven up the wall under intense circumstances where he/she can't no longer struggles with and that's when all hells break loose.
I do understand there are those of Ledger's hardcore fans who would say Ledger's Joker is DA BEST, ROCKS, FUCKS ALL THE WAY etc. Unfortunately for me, I don't really enjoy his Joker act. Why? Well, aside from the vanishing pencil act, the rest are just too serious and gloomy for the Joker. Ledger's Joker was nothing more but a SERIOUS SAD looking clown who behaves more like an attention seeking whore. Expecting killing jokes from this Joker? Not a chance, lecture on insanity is all you get and that's repeating what Ra's Al Ghul did on lecturing his ideals. I'm here to enjoy the movie, not attending lectures. Sheesh...
You might think that I'm thrashing Ledger's last act and dancing on his grave. Yeah, I'm being disrespectful to the late actor credibility and contribution to the movie this and that, blah blah blah... Well, say whatever you want. I wasn't meant to be disrespectful while voicing out what I felt for DK since I can tell that Ledger wasn't really keen to play the psychopathic clown for the first time in his career. During the shot, he complained of sleepless nights and exhausted from playing the character. No wonder Ledger played his role forcefully while struggling with DID (disassociate identity disorder) at the same time, how can an actor brings a character to real life if he/she doesn't enjoys it?

On the other hand, I can see that DK serves more as a base for Harvey Dent, Gotham's once most revered district attorney who was later transformed into a vengeful psychopath known as "Two-Faces" and I must admit, Aaron Eckhart's portrayal of Harvey Dent and Two-Faces are more natural than Ledger's Joker but only ended too quick like the Scarecrow's. Also, I'm glad that they finally send that awful-looking "Batmobile" (Bat-Tank in my opinion) to the scraps which makes way for a smaller Batmissile copycat- the "BatPod". Who knows? Bruce Wayne's Lambo may soon modified into a new Batmobile.

The truth is, a dead man's legacy and the movie's quality are both different from each other. If the movie's a flop, then you can only blame the director and poor story-telling skills. Heath Ledger was a fine actor notably for his role in "BrokeBack Mountain" and it is sad to see that DK was his last act. Despite the movie being seen as an epitaph for the late actor, I would give 75 out of 100 for DK and that's not for honouring a dead man where results should be based on merits, not emotions.

Why so SERIOUS, Joker? Let's put a SMILE on that face. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

"Painting Pekingese has a flair for the Artistic" By TOM PFINGSTEN

No one would suspect Ziggy of having an artistic side.

At 8 pounds and less than a foot off the ground, the 3-year-old dog of the Pekingese variety would be perfectly happy to lounge around his owner's music studio ... or to sleep ... or to do just anything but brush colors onto canvas.

But despite what others may expect, this pooch paints and his work has already been featured in two art shows.

"This one painting in particular, after he finished it, he was just sitting there, staring at his painting and wagging his tail, like he was admiring his work," said Elizabeth Monacelli, a professional violinist and Fallbrook resident who has owned Ziggy for two years.

The method is simple: Monacelli places a small canvas over a piece of wood propped up against a wall "It goes all the way down to the ground, because he's really short," she said then tapes an empty paper towel roll to a paint brush. Ziggy grabs the paper towel roll in his mouth.

She puts the paint on the palette. Ziggy does the rest slapping the brush across the canvas.

When he feels like it. "Some days he refuses to paint at all," Monacelli said. "And some days I ask him if he wants to paint and he comes running over."

Ziggy has completed six paintings since launching his career last September.

Monacelli said she sells the paintings for $20 to $25. She said she also sells postcard prints. A portion of the proceeds goes to a Pekingese rescue shelter in Palm Springs called "Forget Me Not."

While it sounds like keen marketing and the makings of a good business, Monacelli pointed out last week that getting each painting requires painstaking work with a temperamental animal.

"I can only get one painting out of him at a time, that's it," she said. "When he does strokes, he focuses for 15 or 20 seconds at a time, then he'll put the paintbrush down. So it may take up to an hour to create one work.

"He will be very adamant sometimes about what color he wants to use. It surprises me."

Ziggy's stubbornness is no mistake "it's a trait common to his breed" she said.

In China, hundreds of years ago, Pekingese dogs were reserved for royalty, and commoners weren't allowed to own them. These days, they still act like royalty, and Ziggy's no exception, Monacelli said.

Gabriella Rollins, the director of the Yorba Linda Arts Alliance, said last week that her organization had never featured any artwork done by animals until Ziggy's paintings were displayed in its ninth annual "Celebration of the Arts" on June 1. "He's like this little stuffed animal, just very calm and charming," Rollins said. "He is so adorable."

Rollins said Ziggy wasn't the first artistic animal she'd ever heard of: there's the horse that paints with a brush jammed into his halter, and the elephant that paints self-portraits with his trunk.

But Ziggy was a hit with those who attended the arts celebration earlier this month, she said. "Obviously, they aren't any particular shape," Rollins said. "I would call it more modernistic: just blobs of color and lines on paper, depending on how he moves his little head around. "Honestly, it's not so much the art as it is the concept. People will contribute to a worthy cause, and if they get something back, it'll be a reminder and a unique conversation piece."

Monacelli said she plans to continue facilitating Ziggy's artistic side. "He's a very, very special dog to me. One of the most special I've owned," the long-time Pekingese connoisseur said. "He's unique for the Pekingese breed because he's so tiny: only 8 pounds, and typically a Pekingese male would weigh up to 14 pounds. But he has a very large personality.

"I'm so proud to be his owner." [link]

Hell, even a dog, a horse, a donkey and an elephant can draw too. Not everyone can be great artists but great artists can be found anywhere, if you do put in passion and diligence at whatever you do, you can make wonders too.
Hate losing to a DOG like Ziggy? I bet you do

FROM THE ILLUSTRATORS’ PARTNERSHIP:

An Orphan Works Solution

"We have a proposal to solve the Orphan Works issue. It would let libraries and archives digitize their collections and let individuals duplicate family photos without fear of massive infringement penalties. These are the two needs most commonly cited by the bills’ sponsors and they can be resolved quite simply. Our proposal would limit the bill’s effects to works that are really orphans, with no unnecessary spillover effect to damage the commercial activities of working copyright holders."

Digitizing the Collections of Libraries and Museums:

"Digitizing someone’s work is an act of reproduction and is therefore subject to the authorization of the copyright holder. But to let accredited libraries and archives bypass these authorizations, the law could grant them certain exceptions to reproduce works without the prior consent of the rights holders, mainly for preservation purposes.

To avail themselves of this privilege, institutions could file a notice of intent to infringe with the Copyright Office, documenting that they’ve made a reasonably diligent, but unsuccessful effort to find the copyright holder. These exceptions should not be extended to cover reproductions on a mass scale, because that would clearly conflict with the artists’ own exploitation of their works and that would prejudice the legitimate interests of the copyright holders, a clear violation of the 1976 Copyright Act, the Berne Convention and Article 13 of the TRIPS agreement, to which the US is a signatory.

This proposal is consistent with the submission of the International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organizations (IFRRO) to the European Union’s i2010 Digital Libraries project. See our 2006 report on this: [link] This means our proposal would meet the needs of libraries, museums and archives, harmonize US policy with our trading partners overseas and win wide praise from the creative community in the US, who would not see the rights of their own work put at risk."

Solving the Grandma issue:

"We believe similar orphan works situations - family photo restoration and duplication, personal genealogy usage of orphan works, and orphan works rights clearance for documentary filmmakers – can all be resolved in a similar manner, by carefully and precisely expanding Fair Use to permit limited individual infringements under contractual agreements.

For example, family photo issues could be resolved by means of a simple contract: the person who wishes to duplicate or restore a photo of Grandma could sign an easy-to-understand agreement (with either companies such as Wal-Mart or with the photographer next door), stipulating that they've made a reasonably diligent, but unsuccessful search to identify or locate the photographer of record. By doing so, they’d qualify for a precise limited copyright exemption to restore or duplicate the work for home and/or family use only. Under this scenario, it the photographer of record subsequently shows up, the contract would define the specific remedies.

The case of an individual who wishes to duplicate his or her own family photos would be even simpler to deal with: the individual would simply sign a form stipulating that he/she is the author and copyright holder of the photo - period. Any bad-faith assertions or violations of such agreements could then be dealt with as a contractual matter between individual parties, with no unnecessary damage to the rights of others."

A Limited, Workable Solution:

"We believe this kind of contractual solution to individual orphan works problems would have two virtues:

1. It would create certainty by specifying the terms of each transaction and would, in fact, mirror the kind of indemnification that professional artists and photographers routinely supply to clients, stipulating that our work is original and doesn't infringe the rights of others.

2. It would have the additional virtue of requiring that only those who avail themselves of the right to infringe would be required to understand the complexities of copyright law, unlike the present bill, which would require all citizens to familiarize themselves with the risks and obligations inherent in the proposed Orphan Works Acts.

3. It would not legalize the infringement of billions of managed copyrights on the grounds that some of them might be orphans."

"We believe solutions like this could be arrived at amicably by working with members of the creative community, who are familiar with how copyright law intersects with standard business practice. This kind of imaginative solution should win widespread praise from all parties, while preserving the sanctity of existing copyright-related...

"LOS ANGELES (AP) — Stan Winston, the Oscar-winning special-effects maestro responsible for bringing the dinosaurs of "Jurassic Park" and other iconic movie creatures to life, has died. He was 62.

Winston died at his home in Malibu surrounded by family on Sunday evening after a seven-year struggle with multiple myeloma, according to a representative from Stan Winston Studio.

Working with such directors as Steven Spielberg, James Cameron and Tim Burton in a career spanning four decades, Winston created some of the most memorable visual effects in cinematic history. He helped bring the dinosaurs from "Jurassic Park," the extraterrestrials from "Aliens, the robots from "Terminator" and even "Edward Scissorhands" to the big screen, and was a pioneer in merging real-world effects with computer imaging.

"The entertainment industry has lost a genius, and I lost one of my best friends with the death Sunday night of Stan Winston," Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said in a statement. "Stan's work and four Oscars speak for themselves and will live on forever. What will live forever in my heart is the way that Stan loved everyone and treated each of his friends like they were family."

Winston won visual effects Oscars for 1986's "Aliens," 1992's "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" and 1993's "Jurassic Park." He also won a makeup Oscar for 1992's "Batman Returns."

Winston was nominated for his work on "Heartbeeps," "Predator," "Edward Scissorhands," "Batman Returns," "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" and "A.I."

He last worked with director Jon Favreau on "Iron Man."

"He was experienced and helped guide me while never losing his childlike enthusiasm," Favreau said in a statement. "He was the king of integrating practical effects with CGI, never losing his relevance in an ever changing industry. I am proud to have worked with him and we were looking forward to future collaborations. I knew that he was struggling, but I had no idea that he would be gone so soon. Hollywood has lost a shining star."

At the time of his death, Winston was in the process of transforming his physical makeup and effects studio into the new Winston Effects Group with a team of senior effects supervisors. Winton's most recent projects included "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins," "G.I. Joe," "Shutter Island" and Cameron's "Avatar."

"He ran at full throttle, in both work and play, and was a man of kindness, wisdom and great humor," Cameron said in an e-mail to The Associated Press.
Okay, first I was really FUCKED up in the first place after reading Mark Simons' article from AWN, which really shows the 'Orphaned Works Legislation' to be such a FUCKED up bill and I couldn't help getting paranoid with Mark's fiery words in every lines he said about the bill and listening to the interview he had with Brad Holland from IPA regarding with the bill. After some clearing ups and researches, I finally got a clear insight at the bill which was posted by Mrs Marybeth Peters, a register of copyrights in the US:[link]

1. Why the bill is proposed?
First, let's look into the Orphaned Works problem, some people who wanted to get old photographs retouched or repaired but were denied service by the photo shops because:
A) Those pictures were taken by the photographer at the wedding then and should be the one (not the customers) who has copyright for the photograph and they need approvals from that guy.
B) The customers don't even know who-the-FUCK photographer at his/her parents' wedding and how the FUCK are they going to trace it? Do photo shops expect their customers to go on a wildgoose chase for some guy who shot their folks wedding 30 years ago?

Other examples are big organisations like museums and documentary filmmakers who want to use archival collections of old photos and celluloid footages and to do that they need approvals from the owners but should if the owners were buried 6 feet deep long long time ago, who the FUCK they're gonna turn to get permissions? At the end, the whole show&tell project FUCKED up all because the owner is DEAD and they can't risked getting HELL lawsuits from the other side.

2. The Proposed Solution
In Marybeth's statements recommended a framework whereby a legitimate orphan works owner who resurfaces may bring an action for “REASONABLE COMPENSATION” against a qualifying user. A user does not qualify for the benefits of orphan works legislation UNLESS he/she first conducts a good faith, reasonably diligent (but unsuccessful) search for the copyright owner.

It allows a copyright owner to present evidence related to the market value of his/hers work and, at the same time, allows the copyright user to more precisely gauge his/hers exposure to liability. Statutory damages are not apply to Orphaned Works but statutory damages are STAYING. If an owner were to emerge, his/hers legal ownership of the copyright in his/hers work is unchanged. Full remedies, including full statutory damages, would be used against both original and new users who are trying to use it for something else.

The copyrights guys also proposed one exception to the basic rule of reasonable compensation, which is a safe-harbor for certain limited uses performed without any purpose of direct or indirect commercial advantage. The exception would apply only where the user STOP using it after receiving NOTICES for infringement and is believed to be critical for orphan works solution. For example, a local museum wants to use multiple Orphan Photos available on its website or in pamphlets, it is possible that reasonable compensation would still rarely conflict with the legitimate interests of the copyright owner.

3. Public Responses:
Generally digital photographers are against this as they find that their works/pictures are sometimes thought to be ORPHANED when they're NOT. That's because their works are NOT WATERMARKED and they uploaded it directly from digicams to PC to sites like Fotopages, Photobuckets, Flickr etc. Unlike both traditional and CG paintings, pictures taken from digicams seldom provide any hard evidences that they OWN the pictures. Therefore, such situations are also the roots of PRECEIVED ORPHANED WORKS. So what are they gonna do? Go back to the old Kodak Film style? Man, even your UGLY ID photo and digital homemade porn videos are considered 'Orphaned' too.

The bill included revisions to the Copyright Office's original proposal and incorporated a number of changes that were designed to protect photographers and other visual artists in particular. These changes included a requirement that users document their searches, a definition of "reasonable compensation" (taken from the Office's Report), and the availability of attorney's fees under circumstances where a user fails to negotiate in good faith with an owner who has previously registered his work.

In conclusion, the bill is hoped to makes things more easier for museums, documentary filmmakers and publishers when it comes to using Orphaned Works where owners are DEAD and Marybeth stressed that the bill does NOT create an EXCEPTION; nor does it rescind an owner's COPYRIGHTS RIGHTS.

Above are are just summarised version and here is my opinions about the bill. It will be beneficial for any organisations to use pictures, footages and even letters which a...

These days with the internet getting more and more advanced, you can just find anything from microscopic organisms to senators porn pictures/videos. Although with so much freedoms going around online recently, some lawmakers are out to twist realities and to commit crimes without getting arrested for. Thus, they come up with a bill known as "Orphaned Works Legislation", which really infuriates me and pissed off millions of artists out there.

What is an Orphaned Work? An Orphaned Work is any creative work of art where the artist or copyright owner has released their copyright, whether on purpose, by passage of time, or by lack of proper registration. In the same way that an orphaned child loses the protection of his or her parents, your creative work can become an orphan for others to use without your permission. Put it short, when your work become an orphan, you've already lost rights and ownership over it.

Currently, you don't have to register your artwork to own the copyright, you OWN A COPYRIGHT as soon as YOU CREATE SOMETHING. International law also supports this and allows you to sue for damages for any infringements of your works.

Imagine a LAW that legalizes THEFT. The only people who benefit from this are those who want to make use of our creative works without paying for them and large companies (particularly Corbis, Gettyimages, Pixar, Disney etc) who will run the new private copyright registries and FORCED you to PAY in order to register every single image, photo, sketch or creative work or your works will be ORPHANED. What more, it is currently against international law to coerce people to register their works for copyrights because there are so many inherent problems with it. But because big business can push through laws in the United States, which is about to break with the rest of the world, again(after breaking away from the Kyoto Protocol) and take your rights away. With the tens of millions of photos and pieces of artwork created each year, the bounty for forcing everyone to pay a registration fee would be enormous. We lose our rights and our creations, and someone else makes money at our expense.

So how will the Orphaned Works can affects artists? I took this from the US Illustrator Partnership Association:

"How Registries Will Orphan Your Work

When the Copyright Office spawned the Orphan Works bill (2006), they said it would not cause problems for artists. They were wrong. Now they concede the problems, but say registries are the solution. Wrong again.

PicScout is one of the technologies being developed for locating visual art. On March 13, they touted their capabilities to the House IP subcommittee:

“Our technology can match images, or partial information of an image – such as a single face of one person in a crowd, with 99% success... Over the years, we have established relationships with our partners and now track the use of millions of digital files stored in our huge centralized database.

PicScout is just one of several firms that hope to benefit from the Orphan Works bill. They envision a future registry in which registered pictures will not be available for review or browsing. Instead a searcher would feed in a desired image and if there’s a match, get back only the artist’s name and contact information – or be told there is “no match.”

So far, so good – for all the pictures in the registry. But “no match” – there’s the rub.

You Can’t Find What’s Not in the Registry: Let’s say you haven’t registered a particular image in the system. In that case, the best technology in the world won’t find it there. So unless every picture you’ve ever done is registered, the searcher’s failure to find a match would actually orphan a non-orphaned image.

But let’s say you comply with this coercive bill. You register tens of thousands of your works with one or more commercial registries. Are these works now safe from infringement? No! They can still be orphaned. Here’s how:

PicScout’s claim of “99% success” concedes a margin of error of at least 1%. Sounds small, doesn’t it? But consider:

– Google has already said they intend to use millions of orphaned works. Other businesses will use millions more.
– One percent of every million searches means 10,000 registered images “accidentally” orphaned.
– Multiply 10,000 accidental orphans by millions of millions of searches and you have an astronomical number.
– These are images that will be orphaned even though the artists spent the time and money to register them.
– Will these artists be able to sue for infringement?
– Yes, but at their own risk, because
– The users’ use of registries will prove they did a “reasonably diligent search.”

And there’s another problem:
– It’s statistically impossible for each million sea...

Warning: For any of you who are FREE-TIBET supporters, don't even bother to read this. It will only increases your blood pressures and give you multiple strokes.

2008 is an auspicious year for China as by 8-8-08 is the Olympics to be held in Beijing. As China has been making so much improvements and constructions in preparation for the game, there are some jerk-offs out there plan to screw the game up like kidnapping foreign athletes, medias and TRYING TO SCREW UP THE TORCH RELAY.

First of all, I support the ONE CHINA policy and I always do.
Why? The reasons:
1. I'm an ethnic Chinese who lives in SE Asia while my ancestors migrated from China to here centuries ago in search for a new life, what more I have some distant relatives back in the province of Fujian, China.

2. I read about Chinese histories from the Xia, Shang, Han, Tang, Ming till the cultural revolution ages and I'm fucking mesmerized and proud with my culture background full of glories and falls of each dynasties till the modern times.

3. I know the meaning of "UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL" as China has been through a lot of ups and downs, break-ups and reunifications as time takes its course, any states secessions will only resulted in having more warfares like among the Balkan states and African nations.

4. The Chinese are the most people occupying in every corner of the world, and also among the discriminating races because of the white mens burdens.

5. The WEST has left a grave impression when 8 western countries invaded China during Qing dynasty and plundered the whole nation by selling OPIUMS to the people and STEALING state treasures. Even until today, the West particularly the US of A still plays a 2-headed snake to the Chinese authority. How can there be progress if there aren't transparency among countries?

6. The Chinese authority's statement are CLEAR-Tibet and Taiwan independences are a big NO because these states are always been a part of China. It always has been the West interest to see China breaking up again as it seems the West still haven't give up their colonising dreams, so why all the talks about human-rights and freedom of speeches when it's actually colonists talks?

The Olympic Games is not just only an international gaming event for athletes only, it is also an international playground for men and women of all races, religions and cultures to compete with each other in good spirit of SPORTS. Therefore, NO ONE should drag POLITICS into the PEACEFUL gaming event or not that you are only DISRESPECTING the game but also DISSING the entire world by DENYING other nations to host and compete in the game. Soon or later, other oppressed groups like Sri Lanka's Tamil Tigers, Basque ETA and Kurds will also pick up the habit by SCREWING UP the TORCH and RUIN the GAME. Till then there will be NO MORE OLYMPICS and our world blazed in WAR FIRE. Is that what you FREETIBET protesters really want? While protesting against the abuse of humanrights, you selfish hooligans are also DENYING other people RIGHTS to compete in the Olympics and PROMOTING VIOLENCES. Isn't that SELFISH and ABSURD?

The Dalai Lama has voiced his support for the Beijing Olympics and has call for violences and protesting to stop as he knows such acts will only worsen situations and soon there will be no chances for talks. See? Even the Dalai Lama supports the game because he knows it is meant for all nations, not just for Tibetans and certainly NO grounds for selfish political means. If any of you still carry on to screw up the torch relays, you are only making things WORSE and should the game is screwed, everything will fall into ground zero and the Dalai Lama will become the SCAPEGOAT for all of your SELFISH crimes, is that what you want?

So here's the word: RESPECT THE GAME, SCREW THE TORCH AND ALL LOST.

Currently, I'm craving for AHPO-KAI-FAN (claypot chicken rice) and CHAR-SIEW-PAU (grill pork bun) which are among the popular chinese delicacies here in Malaysia, but last few days as Setsuna Ibrahim fans know that Gundam 00 has just wrap up its first season after spanning for 25 episodes and will resume with season 2 later this year. Although I'm not so into this 00 hype, off and on I do check up on reviews and synopsis to gain some general insights of the bloody show. After years of watching and reading Gundam animes and MS specs, I came to realise that the anime has barely able to live out the shadows of the 2 most famous characters from the anime:

Amuro Rey: your regular guy who starts off as a nobody in the game of MS piloting but with strokes of odd-lucks, he was able to pull it off by destroying 2 Zakus at one go, taking on Char from time to time, kicking enemy acebutts and becomes a war hero.

Char Aznable: your typical Count of MonteCristo embark on a journey to avenge his deceased father and kills those who screwed up his life. Charismatic and mysterious, every girls and guys fall for him (he's obviously bisexual)

In the 25th(final) episode of 00, there is a golden MA laying waste on the Celestial Beings, which later hatched out a golden MS called "Alvaaron" (another butt ugly 00 MS) This bling' got shield barriers which can repel attacks from all directions but at the end it served its purpose after got whooped by Excia before Excia got whooped by Graham's Flag. For anyone who have watch UC0079 OneYearWar, you can find some similiarities between 00 and 0079. Excia vs Alvaaron is pretty much ripped from the Gundam vs Bigzam and the whole Setsuna vs Graham is very much similiar to the Amuro-Char rivalry. Put it together, Gundam animes are still in the 2 bigshots shadows after 20 years. The Gundam Meisters' fate and destiny are sealed as they are meant to play enemies and appeared hostile so that the world would unite and take them out. Once the Gundams' objectives are over, it's time for them to die as fallen enemies. As the show only spans for 25 episode, most of the storylines end up abruptly and nonsensical with emo boys shed tears and whine about their miserable pasts, senseless killings by triggerhappy nuts (trinities) and of course way too much dialogues than actions.

Like AHPO(claypot) chickenrice and CHARsiewpau, the name "AhPo" and "Char" have become so well-known among Chinese/HongKong Gundam fans that you just can't help seeing them reappeared in other Gundam animes like Wing, SEED and 00 as it is all too obvious that Sunrise keep reusing these 2 nunchunks over and over again. Unfortunately, it didn't work out so well as poor storylines and weak plots really kill the anime but hey, as long it sells Gunplas from Bandai and keep the EMO otakus eye on the bishies, who gives a damn about it? Man, aren't we SUCKERS at our own OBSESSIONS?

And speaking of chinese delicacies, let me tell you of what are my most anticipated mecha animes this year.

Macross Frontier does show some colours after its pilot episode few months back and I'm expecting it to outshine mediocre shows like 00. Especially after watching the chinese restaurant "Nyan Nyan" commercial, I couldn't help thinking about 2 chinese foods above.

CodeGeass may have end up abruptly the last time, the first season displayed strong plots and good story tellings, which definitely bash up 00 in every aspects, even the chinese Eunuch is more MAN than Tieria. Hopefully, it will be more satisfying than it's first season.

I'm not going for EMO craps like 'boy got his face sat on by a girl's ass and now his knows how underwears smell like' or 'any blockhead thinks he's a GUNDAM by wearing a BOX', what I really want is A GOOD SHOW, simple isn't it? But I just don't understand why all the hanky-panky, twisted all gone wrong senseless EMO craps shown in most animes I've came across before. Unless it's their idea to make more doughs with a BIG FLOP, now that's called CHEATING. If you think I'm bashing 00 out of its mediocrities, you betcha'ass I am. If the show sucks, then it's FLOP and so stop sucking it up like LAPDOGS. Sheesh! These days OTAKUS has turned into either RUNNING DOGS or LAPDOGS. Someone PLEASE reminds me to bring dog biscuits to make them beg and a whiplash to make them MUSH.

Alright, time to head down to the hawker center to feed my cravings and I won't be surprise if Amuro is selling claypot chicken rice while Char is selling dim-sums and char-siew-paus.
Yippee-ki-kay, MUTHAFUCKAS

"Whoever kills another one without justifiable cause, surely he is killing all of humanity. And whoever saves the life of another one, surely he saves the lives of all of humanity." [Sura Al Ma'aidah: Ayah 32]

Abdul Sattar Edhi, 80 started his life as a humanitarian after the founding of Pakistan, from opening a free clinic offers medical services to the poor to collecting the deceased of the city's homeless, washed and gave them proper burials.

In the years of Pakistan's shaky governances, where military expenses accumulate the country's budget by a quarter, less than 3 percent is spent on domestic wares like education, health and welfares. And so Edhi still tends to the dirty works, body by body. From a single station wagon grows into an army of 1,380 ambulances across the nation, tended by thousands of volunteers and always the first to arrive at the scene of tragedy.

Edhi was borned in the Indian town of Bantva in 1928. During the bad times where sectarian riots occured, his family joined more than 14 million muslims in exodus to cross the border into Pakistan after it was found. As everyone cheered "Pakistan Zindabad (Long Live Pakistan)" he saw a hindu man murdered by young muslim mobs
"They stabbed him with over and over again with a knife, and I'll never forget watching him writhe in pain on the ground. All over Karachi, Hindus were packing up and running away, EXACTLY as we'd done in India. Just like that, our joy turned to horror and shame. That's what I remember about the partition."

Today, the Edhi foundation is sprawling across the nation and have branches internationally. Every foundation offices has a crib with words "Don't kill your child" where a mother can leaves a unwanted child with no questions asked. Edhi's Karachi office received 90 babies per month, with only half of the figure alive. Orphaned children of both muslims and hindus, are given medical cares, educations and shelters. The foundation even throws in marriage packages for brides(the foundation's daughters) with carefully arranged marriages with proper job skills and dowries. On the foundation's bulletin board is filled with dozens of wedding pictures, each bride a miracle child from Edhi's crib.

Despite Edhi's selfless deeds, he is often being attacked for being "unislamic" by local hard-line mullahs who condemn his policy on KAFIRS(INFIDELS) For Edhi, he NEVER asks whether an abandoned child, a psychiatric, a deceased or a battered woman he came across a SUNNI or SHIITE, HINDU, BUDDHIST or CHRISTIAN- or for that matter, PUNJABI, SINDHI, PASHTUN, MOHAJIR or KASHMIRI.
"I'm a Muslim" said Edhi, "but my true religion is human rights"

The islamists even sent out death threats to him and harrass his offices- a campaign orchestrated by Pakistan islamist parties to compete against him for financial support. A few years ago, a newly built Edhi hospital cost over 3 million dollars was taken over by radical muslim students from madrassah north of Karachi. Complaints were reported to the authority but no actions taken, from a hospital initially for the poor has now become a militant cell for radical mobs.

Nevertheless, the Edhi foundation today holds the largest volunteer ambulance service in the world and Edhi himself holds the longest working hour record in the Guiness Book. Edhi is also well-known at turning down government aids because the aids come with CONDITIONS and the foundation lives on donations from funds raised by humanitarian NGOs across the world.

For a man like Edhi, he truly opens our eyes and touches hearts with his selfless crusades for humanitarian purposes. Instead of just giving lectures at every friday sermons, Edhi leads by actions and examples-where the rest of us who are only good at TALK ONLY NO ACTIONS. Even as a muslim, he tends towards others and take care of them regardless of races and religions. Truly a man of honour.

My Conclusion:

As in every religions, Abuse is pretty common among its devotees. Even in anime-manga, zealotry is unavoidable with humanity always ABUSE anything that is GOOD.
From the KluKluxKlan in the US to the Al-Qaeda in the middle easts and Money-cheating Buddhist-Taoists in Asia, these are fine examples where people cheat you in religion's name. Rules are made for FOOLS by those who called themselves GOOD GUYS, SO GET WISE.

Another thing I do find LOLZ: When asked to do a favour for good cause, nobody wants to listen; when asked to rob a bank, everyone jumps in. So are people more responsive to BAD THINGS? You be the judge.

I've always been a mecha fan since I was little. Back then, I used to go watch dredges, trucks, cranes and excavators digging at a river near my house(at that time a bridge was being built, after that I would scribble it down on papers, books and walls. As I grew up, my first mecha was in fact, a RX-78-2 Gundam which I saw on a notebook cover back in 1984 or later, which follow by Grendizer, Tosho Daimos , Voltron, Transformers and so on and on... Eversince then I became hooked on anything mecha. Before the term anime-manga, Japananimation is the common term for any animations or comics from Japan, until the yanks labeled it ANIME in the late 1990s.

Mecha genre to me, is the most PLAGIARIZED work of all pop art medias. Now for a mecha enthusiast, why would I say that? Well, you don't just only find mechas in Japan animes like Gundam and other super robot animes, you also find them in western cartoons as Transformers, Gobots, Robotixs and bootlegged versions like Voltron and Robotech.

Before the great mecha invasion on US soil, superheroes like Superman, Batman, Ironman, this and that men are the faces of the american identity. Until companies like Harmony Gold and Worldevents brought in super robot animes and repackage them to fit into the american saturday morning TVs so that they would not be too "foreign" to yanky-doodles tastes. Titles like Macross, SouthernCross and Mospeada are compressed into Robotech, Golion and DairuggerXV are rebranded into Voltrons, Sentais being rebranded as PowerRangers... all to fit into the all-american society.
These bootlegged brands also give birth to another great toy-animation franchise which later came to known as 'Transformers'-which were based on Japan's Takara popular changeable toyline. Names like Optimus Prime and Megatron are now one of the most popular fictional characters in the american cartoons and occults.

So what's all the fuzz? If you looked closer into the 'american' mecha genres like Transformers, you can find many similiarities with the super robots animes like 1970s super robos, Brave series and Gundams. Other mecha franchises like PoweredRangers, Robotechs and Voltrons are no doubt bootlegged products with only their names changed. As the yanks always complain about how the east like China and Japan stole their ideas and counterfeiting products after theirs, they are also doing the same on their own turf-selling bootlegged mecha franchises of course and they refuse to acknowledge it.

It wasn't for long until Gundam Wing animes were shown on american TV and that's when the Gundam fanatical otakus were spawned across US continents. These Gundam otakus are SO mesmerized that they also started to playing imaginary roles in the anime itself by making fanfics and fanarts of their own. And with fanfics and fanarts getting increasingly popular and competitive among otakus, otakus are becoming more desperate for attentions within the online fandom and they need it ASAP. So they came up with this LAZY MAN's idea by downloading Gundam linearts and montage them into travesties called FRANKEN GUNDAMS.

An old chinese proverb says "If the roofs above are not properly installed, everything in the house will be in harms way" which describes that if the elders didn't show good examples, the youngs would also become rotten. Back then, mecha animes are repackaged and rebranded to fit into american TV, now otakus wanted to gained petty fames like the PROS so badly that they resorted to CHEATING by making FRANKENTRAVESTIES. With that kind of SELF-RIGHTEOUS attitude where "the WEST has to be RIGHT all the time and the rest are WRONG" the elders justified that they bootlegged mecha animes are legit (legally yes with purchased copyrights) and refused to adapt to changes and rebranding due to fears of losing the fandom. This habit was later picked up by the youngs-Gundam Otakus who fiercely defend their FRANKENTRAVESTIES as VALID forms of arts and refused to hear out to any forms of criticisms which are deemed slanderous. What more, they FRANKAMUTHAFUCKAS also promote this CHEATING trend to other LAZYMUTHAFUCKAS as well. With one word, PATHETIC
I used to always heard the WEST called the EAST as "narrow-minded", look who's narrow-minded now...

Therefore, MECHA is pretty overly-used in both west and east. Mecha is not only limited to comics and cartoons, they were also used in TV commercials like NIKE, Astro Sports channels, Double A papers and cars. As everyone outside would always associates mechas to Gundams and Transformers, these 2 titles are now big names in every consumer minds. SO.... MECHAS are BIGGER than BISHIES...?

For conclusion, if you set a good example for others to follow, everything will turn out GOOD and you can stand up tall in front of the world. You must show HONESTY in your works only then others can see the passions and efforts you've put in, PLAGIARIZE other wor...

"Taipei 9 FEB 08: Wearing colorful masks and black T-shirts with women-hating slogans, dozens of young men paraded through an upscale Taipei shopping center one night last December, yelling at startled couples, ``Lovers, Go to Hell.''

It was a rare moment of public exposure for Taiwan's so-called "home boys,'' a generation of single young men who spend evenings cloistered at home, playing online computer games, reading fantasy comic books and complaining in Internet chat rooms about women.

"You don't have to be sad if you don't have a date,'' said 24-year-old college student Lu Yung-ping. "We can huddle together and have fun.''

Taiwan is not alone. Japan, Hong Kong and the fast-growing areas of coastal China all have their own versions of home boys. They use the Internet to construct an alternative reality, where fantasy characters and digital games trump domestic responsibilities and the formation of relationships.

Parents find the trend worrisome, and it has become a hot topic in Taiwan's media. Talk shows and popular magazines attribute the phenomenon to a desire to remain in the comfort of mom and dad's home rather than head out into the uncertain world of raising families and paying off mortgages.

There are no reliable estimates of their numbers, though home boys far outnumber home girls, because males tend to spend far more time with online games.

Sociologists say the home boys' obsession with computers inhibits their ability to conduct normal personal relations, including dating-a concern at a time when young Taiwanese are delaying marriage and the fertility rate has fallen to 1.2 children per woman, down from 3.2 in 1971.

The home boys tend to be self-centered, less caring for others and incapable of problem-solving, said sociology professor Hsueh Cheng-tai of Taipei's National Taiwan University. "Many 30-year-olds still have the mentality of children who want to rely on their parents' care and financial support,'' he said. "They're not ready to get married and fulfill family duties.''

It's not so much that they hate women, the young men say; it's just that women ignore, reject or betray them. And rather than pining away in private, they prefer to gather electronically with fellow sufferers and bind their wounds by talking about anything except the hurtful side of love. "The more a nice guy tries to act positively, the more he gets turned away,'' wrote one man who identified himself as Hsuan in a popular anti-couple chat room. "Many of the chat room denizens reject the idea that they are socially awkward, blaming their lack of domestic compatibility on women. Said one who identified himself only as Klowa: "More so than politicians, women are swindlers among swindlers. They will cheat you of your money and time, or worse, steal from several men at the same time.''

Not all computer addicts are so pessimistic. Lin Wei-ting, a chemistry major at Hsinchu's National Tsing Hua University, describes himself as a "positive home boy.'' The Internet habit can be an advantage if pursued in moderation, he said. His own favorite stay-at-home pursuit is reading comic books, which he said has given him useful knowledge about subjects from robotics to cooking _ knowledge that Lin believes will serve him well in his still underdeveloped love life. "Comic books can stimulate our thinking,'' he said. "They can better prepare us for dating, marriage and career building.''

The more rabid home boys go public with their complaints on popular dating days, such as Valentine's Day and Christmas Eve. Hsu Wen-hsiung, a bespectacled 26-year-old office worker who took part in the anti-couple demonstration in December, complained that women never have the patience to get to know him or allow him to show his good nature and sense of humor in a relaxed atmosphere. Waving a fox-shaped mask that he made for the parade, Hsu said he felt like his own computer obsession had put him into a no-win situation with the opposite sex. "You spend so much time on the Internet that you don't get to know women, and then failing to find a girlfriend, you go back to the Internet,'' he said. "It's a vicious cycle.''

I find this Valentine dissings by Taiwanese OTAKUS really LOLZ or just plain FOOLISH, no wonder they got such habits like playing bishie AVGs with sexual explicit scenes and downloading wallpapers of lolis' in Panties'-all because they got no luck with REAL womens in reality. Now that's what I called "Desperate HouseBOYS" and worse comes to worst, they could evolve into "Desperate FAGGOTS" should they ever disoriented they sexualities...

Valentine isn't about lovers getting together and giving roses and valentine cards to the most POP-PU-LAR girl or boy, it's about showing how much you do care for a person regardless of his/hers outlook and background. Sometimes, even friendships are more lasting than lov...

They say that "Bitter medicines always heal", of course all medicines are bitter and too bad none of them taste like peppermint and chocolate. Then they also say "Bitter at first, Sweet at the end" which is used to describe learning to endure hardships and soon you get to enjoy better results.

So it took you longer like about 6 months to whip yourself into shape and sharpen your skills to be on par with the pros, of course it's a lot of works and a lot of pains throughout that kind of journey. But at the end, when you've finally found yourself capable of understanding and drawing a shape in 3 dimensions, casting shadows according with the light directions and able to control the volume of contrasts and developed your colour senses which gives you more controls over colouring, you've made it

Here's the thing, it's not how fast or how smart you can pick up a skill, it's hardwork that pays off throughout your entire journey. If you try hard at something, you will enjoy life.

Remember I've talk about a FRANKAMUTHAFUCKA whose catchphrase is "PROTECTING FROM LAME MECHA"? Well, looks like he/she finally came up with a Guide on FRANKENINGS, which comes in detailed with step-by-step guidelines on how to make a FRANKENMECH. See? You don't have to try so hard or even practice on your drawing skills to draw a good looking mech, this FRANKENING manual is all you need to create great looking mechs and it's so EASY.

So here's my offer: On this table, one is a bitter pill: [link]
And the other is a candy: [link]

I leave that for you to decide, either one of them will lead you to a path which also may describe your passion at this trade. It's alright to preview the links and decide later. But remember this:

At first, I thought things are simmer down a little while with my stand against FRANKAMUTHAFUCKAS. But looks like the whiners from my past are still coming back and want to take a piece of me. Well, I say "BRING THEM ON" and I'm getting more and more laughs! Man, maybe I should consider gather all these laughable statements and compile them into a book so that everyone can read it and laugh out loud.

So here are the latest STUPID statements I've got recently and these are from another FRANKAMUTHAFUCKA from a mecha whining forum:

1.Since when is fan art any form of theft or piracy? Since when was putting a bunch of parts together and saying “this looks cool” the same thing as downloading bootlegged movies?

2. It doesn’t matter if you drew it with your own hand, your Gundam and SRW fan art still uses a basis not of your own creation.

3. The only hypocrite I see here is you, hiding behind a self righteous attitude. You arrogantly proclaim that because you have a measure of talent that your fan art is holy and just, but those without that talent and use Frankan Mechs to express their ideas produce artwork that is evil and unclean. You’re a prick. And that is what got you banned.

4. You can shove your ego up your ass. You’re by far not the best mecha artist I’ve seen and of the best their egos aren’t a tenth of yours. Have a good day and shut up.

5. If your art is better because you drew it yourself, then my art is even better than that because it’s completely original, at least by your logic.

6. What Fucking scam? There’s no money or anything involved. Nobody’s paying to look at fan art and nobody is asking for anything. Even the original artists “your masters” encourage fan art in all its forms. The only true dissenting voice is your own.

7. You’re one to talk about shame. You’re no better than a skin head perpetrating their hatred of that which is different. I find your very existence offensive.

8. Oh and to back up my side of things more, here’s a completely original Non Fan art Mecha, drawn completely from my own imagination as part of my original science fiction writing.
[link]

FAN ARTS would still be LEGIT as long people try their hands on drawing it instead of taking/stealing official linearts from both pros and amateurs. An ARTIST makes and a THIEF takes. What more, these would only helps justify my words are TRUE afterall.
As far I know about this particular FRANKAMUTHAFUCKA, he hasn't been active at that particular forum until now, obviously my rants has spread to other FRANKAMUTHAFUCKAS there as well... GOOD, now we can all enjoy ourselves for some good laughs.

Most people don't understand the meaning of NAZI, so being a purist means "Oh! You're RACIST!" "You're an ELITIST who looks down on others" "What makes you righteous enough to tell us what to do?" Just because some people prefer the old fashioned way and stress the way things should be, does that means conservatives are really BAD PEOPLE? So by telling people to do things with their own hands and own efforts are the works of a NAZI? An art lecturer stressed on drawing things by hand, does that makes him/her an ART NAZI too? Are Okawara, Katoki, Mikimoto, Renoir, Michelangelo ART NAZIS as well? So the rest are NAZIS and they FRANKAMUTHAFUCKAS are the GOOD GUYS.

Being a nobody or a newcomer in any fields, first impressions are important and to earn people's trusts, you must think of honesty. Take mecha arts for example, when you don't even know how to draw like let's say, a robot's head, you can EITHER:
-ask for guidances and take references from the pros and in meantime, you keep practising until you've finally made it all by yourself.
OR:
-just liberately take any official mecha linearts or cliparts and juxtapose them into something and called it your own creation.

Now ladies and gentlemen, which one of here is worthy of being recognised as FAN ART? (Laugh if you must)

That's all folks and More laughs coming soon!

PS I've came thru a book titled "Manga Cliparts" which comes with a stockimage CD. Inside, you can find all sort of finished cliparts (drawn in manga fashion) Lolis, mushas, chinese chicks, cyborgs etc. Let me remind any of you on this: Stock Cliparts are only meant for COMMERCIAL USE like fliers, banners, standees etc and STRICTLY NOT for your Fan Arts. If you want a fan art of SailorMoon, do it yourself or commission someone to do it for you.

As many of you chineses know, 2008 is the year of the RAT, which is the first animal in the cycle of the chinese zodiacs. 40 percent of the mammal species are RODENTS, from the tiny African pygmy mouse (6cm) to the large capybara (up to 45kg), rodents come in all sizes and features. What more, rodents do share some similiar traits with humans as well.

I have to confess, I always like rodents in general, especially in animations where despite being downsize by anyone 'human' (Donald and Howard are 'humanised' ducks) they still can outwit their oversized opponents and tickle your funny bones.
Last year, Disney-Pixar's 'Ratatouille' was on the silverscreen worldwide and it's all about a RAT named Remy who is dying to be a CHEF in Paris. Why I talk about this movie? Well, the first thing I saw in Remy is that we both share the same passion at what we do and our desire to get into that trade for a living. The second thing despite where we came from, we hold on to our belief: "With hardworks and a little luck, it's just a matter of time before I'm discovered." The third thing was a quote from Remy's idol-Chef Gusteau: "Anyone can cook, but only the FEARLESS can be GREAT." That's why sometimes people use the phrase: "Of MICE and MEN."

Remy isn't the only FAMOUS rodent here, here are those of the MOUSE of FAME:
-Mickey Mouse (1928)
-Mighty Mouse (1942)
-Chip'n Dale (1943)
-Jerry (1940)
-Speedy Gonzales (1953)
-Mice in Garfield (1970)
-Alvin, Simon & Theodore (1955, 1983 & 2007)
-Digit of PC & Pixel (2005)
-Hammy (2006)
-Pip (2007)

After a pot-belly year of the PIG, it's time to resume nibbling and gnawing works for 2008. Rodents do prove that sometimes, SIZE DOES NOT MATTERS and THE BIGGER THEY ARE, THE HARDER THEY FALL. Even a rat can cuts out the power supply of an entire city and kill an elephant (let's face it, womens and elephants got a lot in common) Tired of eating GARBAGE? Well then work towards eating GOOD FOODS

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE

The OTAKU label

I've never like the label OTAKU. What the hell? Aw come on, just because I'm into watching and reading anime-manga and the word OTAKU is the RIGHT word for guys like me? Get out of here... First of all, you need ask this question: WHAT IS AN OTAKU?.

OTAKU is a general term used in addressing those who are avid fans of Japanese Animation(anime) and Comics(manga) And yet, many GAIJINS don't really know what does OTAKU generally means back in Japan-which often being seen as mecca of anime-manga.
To many japaneses, an OTAKU (translated those who rarely leaves house) is a form of a recluse who is commonly obsessed with one particular hobby. These OTAKUS can be catergorised into:
-Animu OTAKU (obsessed with animations)
-Manga OTAKU (obsessed with comics)
-Wota OTAKU (obsessed with pop idols)
-Gunji OTAKU (obsessed with air rifles and handguns)

So do all japaneses are into animes-mangas? Not true at all. OTAKUS are commonly seen in the streets of Akihabara, Tokyo where fan-made doujins, plamos and artworks are sold together with copyrighted products. Also, OTAKUS are just a tiny portion in the japanese society where they were often seen as outcasts for being overly obsessive for pop-cultures.

While OTAKUS get negative connotations back at home, their GAIJIN counterparts outside of Japan are picking up the OTAKU label and proudly entitled themselves with. That is why you can hear anyone publicly announced they are OTAKUS (stereotypically anime-manga avid fans in the west) And with anime-manga becoming the next big counter-culture trend outside of Japan, these self-proclaimed OTAKUS(GAIJINS in reality) can still fit into society despite still being seen as FREAKOS on their home soil. Also, they are often being associated with GEEKS who may not share the same interest with them.

I always see myself as an artist, why? To me, ARTISTS ARE THE CORE OF FINE ARTS, ANIMATIONS AND COMICS INDUSTRY BECAUSE THEY MAKE AND ILLUSTRATE THE THINGS THAT WERE VIEWED AND ENJOYED BY MANY PEOPLE. Without artists, there won't be anime-mangas either, can't imagine that huh? Also, I always noticed how COSPLAYERS and ARTISTS seldom interact with each other at CONS. Is there some kind of conflict going on within the fandom? Personally, I believe the answers lie with the attitudes being OTAKU:
-At gatherings, these OTAKUS will give you the snubs and only mixed with stuckups whom they're close to. GEEKS however are much more easier to get along with and they will even help you out with things in their fields.
-OTAKUS are so zealous that they defend their favourite animes(almost every animes) like religious extremists. You try comment any degrading remarks about it, they hurl you back with shitty feedbacks.
-OTAKUS are always in their own world and won't even care about what happen outside the doors of their room. Even when armageddon is at their doorsteps.
-While OTAKUS are sort of friendly and great to chit-chat with online, wait till you see them in real life. It's the TOTAL OPPOSITE-Because people never meant what they said and the internet offers very little friendships.
-HARUHISM is a fine example of how OTAKU mindsets really work. While movies like "Bridge to Terrabithia" and "BigFish" are more closely related to Dr. Seuss's theory on children creative thinkings, "Melancholy of Haruhi SUSUmiya" is the combination of schoolgirls fetishes, panties and paedophile fanstasy which are openly raping childhood imagination.
-Even fairie tales are not spared from the rape of OTAKUS who like to portray nudities and sex explicit scenes with the DISNEY PRINCESSES.
-Only OTAKUS find female-form mechas sexy than real life PLAYBOY CENTERFOLDS. So they like to get their dicks screwed...
-When medias called anime-manga plagued with pornographies, they all went fire up and hit everything back at the medias, though IT WAS THEM WHO STARTED WITH ALL THE NUDITY CRAPS like here on DA.
-FRANKAMUTHAFUCKAS who PRETEND they're FUCKING GOOD and CREATIVE at making mechs by ripping off and juxtapose official linearts from the internet and gunplas manuals.
-Poor choices in cosplaying properly like: some fat faggot cosplayed as Haruhi SUSUmiya and ended up looking like a bitchin' HOOKER from the streets.

So who can you blame for ALL THESE? The OTAKUS themselves of course. Every OTAKUS' actions only help further justifying the public opinions on their cultures and mindsets. Take explaining nudities in anime-manga: Firstly, nudities are basically dirty jokes created for laughs, just like in normal guys talks. And the OTAKU goes "Even children in Japan know that nude is art." "What do people know about ART?" Hello? Are you meant to say that walking NAKED in the streets is ART? Why don't you give it a shot? As long you can't convinced people that it's all for laughs and no harms done, DON'T SAY ANYTHING.

From the dictionary, Shame is the consciousness or awareness of dishonor, disgrace, or condemnation. In other words, Shame means to draw profits without making contributions during good times, or without cultivating oneself after screwing up big time. All that is SHAMEFUL.

Same goes for FRANKAMUTHAFUCKAS who always took official linearts, gangraped it over and over again and FUCKING proud of it too. While amateurs who are struggling to pick up the skills of drawing mechs are not appreciated back in the FRANKEN community and were often looked down onto. Now isn't that SHAMEFUL or what?
And yet, they FRANKAMUTHAFUCKAS run forums like petty STREET URCHINS, demanding SUBMISSIONS and TOTAL COMPLIANCES from registered members. By taking advantage over members' good natures and silence around, FRANKAMUTHAFUCKAS of course assume that their TRAVESTIES are PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE in any ways. Even the PROS from the industry wouldn't mind at all...

So what will happens should if someone from the ANIME industry comments on their TRAVESTIES? Would they FRANKAMUTHAFUCKAS suddenly turn into RUNNING DOGS? Which utter sweet words, showing ingratiating manners and overly humble? Or when they faced with real people in real life, take me for example, would they tend to bear hatred towards me while being superficially friendly? SHAME, SHAME, SHAME...
Without learning to be ashamed of and correcting oneself for past mistakes, one will not gain trusts and recognitions from his/her peers. For FRANKAMUTHAFUCKAS, whose ignorants are beyond enlightenment took pride in indulging with delusional notions which they're equally skilled at making mechs like the pros, by CHEATINGS of course and they're too dickheaded to admit it:

-As for using my frankens as an example, all I've got to say is that those were each made for an original universe with its own original characters and technology. Thanks for the publicity, I'm glad that I pissed you off enough that you chose to use my designs.
-As far as I've seen, yes, we frankeners are definetly more creative than you.
-You completly ignore the high level frankeners like Turinu, Draco Starcloud, and deathpony and focus on the bad ones.
-I would give them a lot of credit. If you bothered to give them a chance, you would to. As for not giving the original designers credit, isn't the most sincere form of flattery imitation?
-You call me a loser, but you're the one spending so much time on your crusade against frankeners.

Now ladies and gentlemens, does this particular person know the meaning of SHAME? Believe me, I'm getting a lot of LAUGHS these days eversince I started this expose' on FRANKEN TRAVESTIES.

To be recognised for your creditability and diligence, you must prove it by being earnest, hardworking and trustworthy among your peers. Ask yourself what is it you really got worthy of recognitions and engage in self-reflections to see if you do share the same desirable traits with the pros and idols. If your conducts are right, your peers will show their respects to you; if your conducts are wrong, you brought SHAME upon yourself.

SHAME ON YOU, FRANKAMUTHAFUCKAS!

To show anger, one must think of the consequences. Knowing that I would be seen as public enemy no.1 in the eyes of FRANKENERS like BinLaden to the US, I still stand firm to the fact that FRANKENS are products of ART THEFTS because it has always been a FACT.
So how did all these FRANKENMECHS started? As far I can remember, it all started way back in the mid 90s' when the internet and WWW become accessible and there's this young Gundam-mech enthusiast named Mark Simmons set up a webpage called "Gundam Unofficial" which provides infos on Gundam animes and MS linearts, which were handrawn by himself. By folly, he swaps MS parts and then termed it as "FRANKENMECHS". Later, the whole site went offline and make way for another top US anime mecha site to rise. Afterthat, Mark agreed to allow forum members of that particular site to use his MS linearts to make FRANKENMECHS of their own and that's how it all started.

What do FRANKENMUTHAFUCKAS have in common?
-they have NO KNOWLEDGE ON BASIC ART FUNDAMENTALS LIKE DRAWING AND PAINTING.
-they have NO INTEREST IN TAKING UP ART LESSONS.
-they aren't OPEN TO CRITISMS AND ONLY WANTS TO HEAR APPRAISALS.
-they think FRANKENING IS THE FASTEST WAY TO GAIN RECOGNITIONS.
-they DON'T KNOW HOW TO POSE A MECH WHICH THEY DREW.
-they are ALWAYS IN STATE OF DENIAL AND REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEGE THAT FRANKENING IS CHEATING.
I used to came across a deviant's DA with a phrase under his/hers username: PROTECTING FROM LAME MECHA and now he/she is planning to make a Guide on FRANKENINGS. Well, well, well... you don't even know how to pick up a pencil, called other amateurs' hand drawn mechas LAME and now you want to write a book to encourage more people to CHEAT. Now isn't that DOWNRIGHT HYPOCRITIC AND SELFISH? PRETENDING TO BE PROFESSIONAL WHEN YOU'RE JUST A LAZY BUM?

In my previous journal on comments and critics, "WHEN YOU WALK AROUND NAKED THEN YOU CAN'T BLAME PEOPLE FOR CALLING YOU CUCKOO. DON'T WALK AROUND NAKED THEN NO ONE WILL HAVE ANY REASONS OR OPPORTUNITY TO INSULT YOU". Showing your works or presenting yourself to the masses is just like stripping yourself from anonymousity and letting the world know what you really are. After you've show your stuffs, comments will definitely come back to you. A stripper can't get the mens cheering and teasing her on the pole if she keeps her clothes on, can she?
For any mecha enthusiasts, it's easy to recognises the parts which were used in FRANKENINGS. Whenever people step up and tell they FRANKAMUTHAFUCKAS what they do is wrong and downright cheating, they would go on a JIHAD against those who told them the naked truth. Here are some examples:

-Maybe you can say such things against frankeners because you can draw, but most frankeners don't have that kind of luxury, which is why we do what we do. We have fun doing it. Is that a problem?
-It's a matter of personal taste, but you act like your word is law. That's just not right, and you have no right to force your ideas on people as such.
-You have no idea who you are talking to.
-Not everyone can invest the time to get that good at drawing mecha the traditional way.
-For those people this is the only way their creations would ever see the light of day.
-Enjoy your mindless puppets praising your words, for all you rant, the fact is, you can not change even one mind to stop making these works of art upon which you spit. (Updated)
-It's more helpful for the franchise than it is harmful. They don't care if this happens, so why do you? And you can't use the fact that you worked hard as a traditional artist as an excuse. (Updated)
-Why is it wrong to use lineart that's on the internet? Whatever is put on the internet then people will take them no matter what it is. (Updated)
-You don't know how passionate i am about frankening becase YOU ARE NOT ME! (Updated)
-I don't need your recognition, because plenty of other people like my work aswell! (Updated)
And so on and on and on... There is one word for all these excuses: WHINING.

There you go, the PRETENDERS and the WHINERS which I came across eversince I took FRANKAMUTHAFUCKAS head on. Just because NOBODY criticises their puny travesties doesn't mean NO ONE hates it, them FRANKAMUTHAFUCKAS have live TOO LONG under APPRAISALS.
What do they know about HARDSHIPS artists gone thru?
What do they know about HUMILIATIONS artists has to put up with?
What do they know about TRIALS which artists has faced?
Have you ever ask yourself what is it you've got worthy of recognitions?
What is it you give back to the industry? A fan mail written 'Sorry mind if I use your linearts?'

As long FRANKAMUTHAFUCKAS won't learn to respect the professionals, continue to rip-off official arts and trashing amateurs works, they are not worthy of recognitions. Who wants to...

These days, you heard about all kinds of community ads telling you not to support piracy and buy original, from original released animes to genuine car parts, which always claimed to have better qualities than pirated versions.
Although there are people response to such calls, but think about it, who doesn't go for cheaper prices and freebies? Yeah, only a fool pays more for an anime DVD when an empty DVD is only 10 bucks. Then again, there are also hypocrites among those who call on for supporting originals when they also promote piracy at the same time. How so? Here's a few examples:

I was snooping around at the mall and I heard this single "Umbrella" from Rihanna which started with Jay-Z rappin'
"Ahuh Ahuh (Yea Rihanna) Ahuh Ahuh (Good girl gone bad)
Ahuh Ahuh (Take three... Action) Ahuh Ahuh...". But when I'm on the road driving, I tuned in to a radio station and they're playing "Umbrella" too, only this time sang by some youtube user named Marie Digby. What's the differences? No JayZ raps, guitar ascoustic background, solf weak voice and they have been playing hers every week instead of Rihanna's...

Instead of showing my works on DA, I also show my works on one particular forum which I'm in. Now why am I picking on this site? Well, while they always talks about being against piracy this and that a while ago, they've already commited piracy on their very own turf by making FRANKENMECHS.
What is a FRANKENMECH? A FRANKENMECH is a juxtapose or collage of existing mech linearts (mostly Gundam MSs) which requires photo editing softwares and existing linearts. Here's how you do it:
1. Gather all kinds of MSs' linearts you can find, whether scanned from gunpla manuals or just ripped it off from online official sites.
2. Cut out the MS with Photoshop and separate 'em into body parts, weapons etc.
3. Just swap and cut-and-paste the parts as you see fit, recolor the whole thing if you want and voila! You very own FRANKENMECH.
4. See? You don't have to be as great like those mecha artists (Katoki, Okawara, Fujioka) to make great looking mechs. FRANKENMECHing makes it so easy and fun. Yeah, now you can tell Bandai to go to hell...

Based on the examples shown above, it really disgusts me with all these hypocrites telling you what to do while they did the other way around. Let's face it, everybody likes free stuffs, especially with online downloadings easily available these days, you can have an anime downloaded to your PC without forking out money for it.
As for FRANKENMECHS, one does not need to practice and sharpen their skills because he/she can just picks any linearts from linearts library, juxtapose it into their own mechs and show it around in that forum, while those who spent years of hard works and practices sharpening their skills are not appreciate in that particular site because their works eventhough are originally hand drawn, are not as good as those FRANKENMECHS. Why of course, FRANKENMECHS are made from existing finished made linearts by pros, they(FRANKENs) are just picking up the bits and turned it into something of their own.

The TRUTH about FRANKENMECHS is that FRANKENS are MOCKING mecha art and the artists from the industry. They can talk passionately about animes and adores characters and mechs like crazy fangirls squealing at concerts, yet they can also ripped people off by cheating their way to make themselves on par with the pros by making FRANKENMECHS without enduring hardships which the pros has gone thru. When people criticise their FRANKENMECHS as "CHEATING", they went all fire up and whack the critics back like Al-Qaeda extremists. So this is how anime fandom has become nowadays, DENS OF THIEVES AND HOOLIGANS.

I know some of you out there maybe membersof that particular site, if it's sweet coaxes you want from me, IN YOUR DREAMS, the reality is cruel and what are you going to do? WHINE?
IN CONCLUSION, FRANKENMECHS ARE NOTHING BUT TRAVESTY OF MECHA ART AND FRANKENS ARE STILL BREASTFEEDING WHINERS.

Here are some samples:
[link]
[link]
[link]

These are pretty indeed, but they are purely made out of other existing linearts from official Gundam sites. Like a counterfeit Rolex watch, those without any knowledge on Gundam/mecha linearts can be fooled. Just take a look at the line edges which is rather rough, that's the effect of cut&ampaste via photoshop and the colour resolution differences are quite obvious. Believe me, I've seen many linearts before.
Do...

When I log on to DA today, I came across with one particular furries piece which featured 2 lions cubs(if I'm not mistaken)making a snowman during winter. To me, cute is the definition for it but not clever enough. Even if I post my comments which I find that it's ridiculous for lions to make snowman, the deviant would probrably tells me off and said that I don't have a good imagination and what do I know about fanstasy. Pretty normal, isn't it? That's where my point for the title above:

Okay, so you want to draw 2 lion cubs playing with snow and making a snowman, here's a question, how are you going to do that? If you just drew the cubs on fours making a snowman and that's it, you are just another awkward idiot in my book.

1. Lions are native in savannahs, Africa and I haven't heard anything called a snow lion.
2. The only big cats capable at surviving in snowy thundra zones are Siberian tigers and snow leopards.

Those above are facts and reality. Therefore you must ask yourself how did the lions get to places like Siberia? That's when you use your creativity to provide an answer for that, like "2 lion cubs escaped from the circus in Russia and escaped into the snowy forrest" or "CubA to cubB: Why are we keep heading north for?" There you go, a masterpiece from you because you did put in some thoughts for your work and crack us up.

So here's my point, fanstasy is full of wonders and impossibles which reality grounds them like gravity pulling our legs. Our lives are in the realities and living in a fanstasy is just all daydreamings, unless you did work towards it by producing tangible results. Despite the fact that fanstasies are often drowned by realities, artists always use their creativity to generate things that are only made possible in comics, animations and movies. By using reality as a challenge, it's depends on how you use your creativity to make a fanstasy out of reality.

CREATIVITY is essential when it comes to presenting your ideas whether at business, cruisines, crafts, arts, writings etc. By just illustrates your fanstasy in an awkward manner is just not enough, what is it you want show? What message does it carry? If you can't provide a good answer or explain your concepts behind your works, then it's a flop and you can't blame people for calling it 'STUPID'.

I've seen many 'surrealistic' works done by people with excuses like "I love to daydream and I got this nonsense in my head" which normally leads to no answers, no concepts and just plainly self-centered. No wonder people outside called DA as an art community for 'Amateurs', because they are too self-conscious about themselves and refuse to hear out to comments which deemed insulting to them. Especially bishies fans, whose drools and adorations for fictional beautiful characters which often leads to becoming 'EMO' and retarded in some ways. In addition with their works are always the same old crap and you wont' get the idea what on earth are they drawing. Bishie is for shallows...

For conclusion, a good artwork is not just only how well you execute a scenery, a subject or out of imaginations. It's the thoughts or ideas you want to present or instill in the minds of the viewers that matter the most. Therefore, you have put more thoughts into your works if you want to make it a masterpiece and show it to people, as your work reflects on you. Think...

Note: To all the robotechs and voltrons fans out there, reading this entry may cause blood pressures to rise tremendously and the urge to shoot me back in retaliation because I'm pissing off the entire fandom. Bring it on!

As many of you have heard, Tobey Mcguire aka Peter Parker aka Spidey and WarnerBros are planning to release a live-action Robotech movie on the silver screen. Wow, sound exciting huh? Yeah, finally the great 80s mecha cartoon show finally gets its hollywood recognition and it's going to be a blast.
Although I do understand that the VF-1J/S/A Valkyrie or veritechs, which also includes the Hovertanks and Cyclone bikes are the embodiment of the entire Robotech franchise, but as an aspiring anime mecha designer, I have to voice out my opinions over the mechanical designs to be use in the movie because I strongly disagree with the idea of reusing all those veritechs which we saw back in the old days. I know a lot of Robotechs fans out there will be pissed off if they read or hear what I said, here are my reasons:

1. Robotech is actually an amalgamation of 3 japanese animes-Macross, Southern Cross and Mospeada, which were later made into the Robotech trilogy as we know today by Harmony Gold.

2. All Veritechs designs are done by japanese mecha designers' like Shoji Kawamori (creator of the Macross series) No americans has ever involved or part of the design works. They only recorded their own voices into it like fan dubbings.

3. Robotech has no identity of its own because it is only an amalgamation of 3 animes blended together into one 3 episode trilogy. It has the Macross, Southern Cross and Mospeada identities in it and those aren't originally made in US.

4. Lawsuits might be filed by Japan's Macross producers againts the movie should if WarnerBros use the same Macross veritechs designs. And I will support it too.

5. Robotech's valkyries and other veritechs designs are too outdated and has never changed with time.

Based on the reasons above, I've made my stand about Robotech because it is time for Robotech to find and build its own identity as it can't forever lives in the shadows of Macross and Mospeada. Take Shadow Chronicles for example, after 20 years since the last Robotech on tv, same old characters, same old veritechs and nothing much has change. Although Shadow Chronicles may still be excuseable for its mediocrities by the fans, but imagine this happened on the silver screen, it's going to be a big, ugly flop.
So here are my suggestions on how the Robotech movie would be, a total new storyplot, new mechs concepts, new ships designs and some new characters. Roy Fokker and LinMinMay should be out of the characters roster because they're copyrighted to Macross. Don't limit variable mechs to only fighters, let there be variable tanks, helicopters and warships, transformable manned vehicles are the embodiments of Robotech, isn't it? Kick the idol show aside, this is war, this is reality and this isn't a fan-based movie anymore.

Well, there you have it. Feel free to hit me back because I'm destroying your childhood and don't even think about sending me death threats for that, it doesn't make you any mature. What about Voltron? Wanna hear it? Next time 'coz I'm sleepy now...

"When you walk around naked then you can’t blame people for calling you cuckoo. Don’t walk around naked, then no one will have any reason or opportunity to insult you." Sounds familiar? Well, that's what we were taught about concealing our shames, behave yourself in public and leave a good impression to other people.
Since DA is an art-based site, When everytime you present artworks/photos/poetry/scripts/scraps online for everyone to see, then people will express their opinions and views about your works as comments/feedbacks, which can be musics to your ears or insults to your pride. Let's face it, this is the reality, whether show&tells in classrooms, business presentations, on stages doing ballets or singings, in front of American Idol Judges(particularly Simon Cowell) facing a mass crowd of 4000 people etc. Sounds scary huh? Oh well, everyone gets stagefrights because fear of screwing up onstage, embarrass yourself, people laugh/boo at you and lashings from the judges and your bosses, who likes that?
Showing your works or presenting yourself to the masses is just like stripping yourself from anonymousity and letting the world know what you really are. After you've show your stuffs, comments will definitely come back to you. A stripper can't get the mens cheering and teasing her on the pole if she keeps her clothes on, can she?
Now comes the hardest part-learning how to handle comments/rants/critics/jeers. "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me." that old phrase which emphasizes on building your self-esteem and prevents you from developing unhappiness in your thoughts which can be disasterous to your upbringing. As everyone has different views, whether good, bad or mean, they just come hurling at you like a swarm of locusts and it depends on how do you use your own judgement and mentality to access through the feedbacks, then use it for self-improvement and answering mean critics by showing maturity and humility.
Still the worst has yet to come. On DA, jeerings are often a way to get attentions since comments on DA are always nice and sweet appraisals. These jokers can be divided into 2:
1. Poking fun at works but still makes some senses and even tickles your funny bones.
2. Just another jackass who got nuthin' better to do and nuthin' to strut about.
So how to tell a rant from between these 2? That would depends on:
1. How open-minded are you?
2. Can you take a joke by letting go your pride?
3. What is it you really seek for your masterpiece? Appraisals only or advanced critiques?
Lastly, when writing your own ideas, views and your day in your DA journal. It's best not to write for the sake of asking sympathies and concerns by acting in a pathetic manner and making yourself so pitiful. Again, if you only want to hear appraisals and totally shut yourself out from the world, you will never go far.
I can be your best friend or your worst enemy, it's up to you what do you see in me and not what do you expect from me. I don't exactly know what you really like to hear but I can only offer you this- Truth... And it hurts too...

Fans, as being described as supporters, enthusiasts, devotees and loyalists in the dictionary. Going overboard definitely part of human nature, you can find fanbases everywhere and zealous fans are usually highly defensive and devoted to their idols or products. So here are the good and bad of fans:

The Good:
1. Enjoying supports and good reviews from fans who will cash in their money and time over your products.
2. Morally encouraging and boosting you to perform better and live up to your standards in order to maintain the fandom.
3. Getting various kinds of feedbacks which can help improving your skills and performances.

The Bad:
1. Overzealousness can be resulting to exchanging flamming remarks over any comments deemed condemning to one's favourite.
2. Creates a scrutinizing atmosphere where zealots are oblivious to general issues and the world around them.
3. Mindless acts like suicides (Jpop idols...) and sending dead cards (to Micheal Bay) are clearly the works of overzealous fans who just can't accept changes and never grow up.

At the end, it all comes down to the fact that we always take things for granted. What really disgust me is that fanboys/girls do went overboard in defending the things they are so devoted to and they do this very often in any forums where you're expected to give total submission and not allowed to make any remarks which are deemed degrading and negative. This only proves these fanatical admins or moderators who can't access remarks (good or bad) openly are actually a bunch of attention seeking whores who enjoy gaining appraisals and powers which often go over their heads, what difference does it makes with having an iron-fisted boss in your real life? And for those who comments, when you post your rants/opinions (depends on how mean you can go) you must bear the consequences of getting flammed, banned and not being likeable...

As for me, I've used to be a fanboy back in my teens (yeah, I was a knucklehead and a dreamer) But I soon grew out of it as I learn to make things of my own, develop my mind and see the world. We are only young once and it would be a waste of our youth if we're only scrutinised to one thing and didn't make the best of it to develop ourselves into something better.
As now the whole ground zero site has become a memorial park for those who lost and gave their lives in that terrible incident, the world now has never been the same with provocations and threats among nations which putting the entire world peace on thin ice.
Recently, I've uploaded some of my own designs, well practically redesigns of the OG units from the PS2 game 'SRW OGS' onto my DA gallery. As everyone got mixed feelings and serious comments about my redesign works, I think it's okay for everyone to have their point of views, some like it and some don't. Just like G1 fans to Bay's Transformers movie... What more, this is getting exiciting as I received different comments from people I met on DA. I guess I have to clarify things up on why I did it. Why didn't I just maintain the original designs?

On the DGG series:
I just felt that the yuusha style is such a norm in any suparobo animes and it just won't stands out if I adopted the yuusha trend. What more, why must a mech need nosetrils and a mouth for? Unless that's how you feed enegry into their mouths like Decepticons drinking energon cubes like liquors, otherwise making expressions is plain useless. Therefore, I figure out that I need a theme for my DGGs and I thought about the Space Sherriffs tokusatsu shows back in the 80s. That's when it strucked me "Hey, this could work." So I set their faces to resembled to space sherriffs like Daizangar-Sharivan, Aubenseiter-Spielvan, Dairaioh-Gavan and of course my own 4th DGG TNT-Juspion. And why I choose a girl for the 4th? I think since there are already 3 guys, then all I need is a girl. The pilot of the 4th DGG, surprise! Selina from Alpha 3!
And why no Zankatou? The big colossal blade thingy? To tell the truth, a blade that size and thickness just can't slices thru anything at all. It's too heavy and too broad to penetrate the surface of an object. What more, any ships can be larger than the zankatou by 10 times and the zankatou can barely make a scratch. You don't need a zankatou to slice a ship into halfs, a single, compressed hi-powered cutter laser can does the trick. Trust me...

On the ATX designs:
Seriously, SRW OGS designs are made up of contributions from various mecha designers of different styles. We got Okawara's blocky traditional style, Katoki's realistically detailed, Ono's lions series, Fujii's rockmens style etc. Although this looks fun with so many mecha designs but to me, this is a big mess. Why? Because aesthetically they just don't gel together and I can't see the unity among designs. It's just like eating steambot, where you put everything into it and pop it into your mouth without knowing what is it.
I've decided to go for the Katoki style since he's my favourite among all the rest and I won't play SRW if there aren't any of Katoki's. Therefore, I try to make them more realistic and able to gel with one another. Since this is my own SRW OGS...

Well, all I want to do is to make SRW looked real and I think it's fascinating if these mechs are real in front of our eyes. There will be more new designs from me as I'm planning a support, motobike style mecha for the DGG3 and 4 and maybe a brand new SRX-like gear since I figure that Banpresto won't gives us a new SRX(Banpreios) in the upcoming OG Gaiden title. If you want something, do it yourself!

That's all for now, guys! I hope you really enjoy my redesigns and I don't mind any straight comments from you guys. I'm not all that perfect, crazy is my middle name...
I have been giving some serious thoughts regarding about our local anime-manga/cartoon-comic industry back here in Malaysia as I felt that it's time to make moves to bring up the industry.

Last week, I attended the "Malaysian Folklore Convention" which was organised by the MSC(Multimedia Super Corridor) committees, the guest speakers are a malay folklore expert(he should be a singer) and an illustrator well-known for his folklore illustrations. As the whole session went with how they lamented about our local market are filled with western fairytales and the malay folklores has very little exposure to the international market, they also stressed the need to promote our 'local herritage' gems to international level by creating animations and comics. I think this is a good move as this might helps upbring our local industry and creates more job opportunities. Then again, these are what I had in mind.

For malaysian artists(both DC/Marvel and Anime) Don't you guys ever got tired of being just a normal fan artist? Don't you really want to take it to the next level and make it as your profession? I mean if countries like US, Japan and HongKong can make it, why can't we? Call me arrogant and show-off, but I couldn't help critising it since I do find most malaysian anime artists aren't up to par to meet the international standard criterias as they are only doing it for their fun and the top seeds are too stuck-up to share their expertises and knowledge to bring up the industry. Aw, come on. Our skills and fortes shouldn't be limited to comicons which only occur once or twice a year. Why can't we make it a way for a living?

Secondly, how can we promote our own folklores when our local animation and comic industry are too stagnant and nowhere to go. With the ongoing anime fever here in Malaysia, why can't we also have our own animes and mangas production here like US and HongKong? Seriously, without a good headstart, their ideas of promoting folklores to the world will definitely flushed down to the drain.

But hey, if we can gather all the good seeds and push them harder thru competitions and talent searches, even if we can't make it back here in Malaysia, we can still show other countries like US, Japan and Europe that we got talents and hopefully we can get our butts out loserville to other places where animation-comics are highly competitive trades. Why not? Billy Tan and MILX are fine examples already.

In conclusion, it takes relentless efforts and sacrifices to get to where you really want to be. Nothing comes cheap and easy, that's the way it is. If you're really passionate about what you do, then work it! To all the Malaysian animemanga aspiring artists out there, don't give up on your dreams that easily and it takes a propeller to get you fly high than just a fan.

First of all, I would like to show my gratitude to all those who faved my 30th entry-SRW:Taskforce Alpha[link] This entry've just hit 100 favs! Thank you!
Just watch Micheal Bay's Transformers with my brother, I was completely spellbounded by the movie and man, it hasn't been this much fun since Lord of the Rings. Bay, you're the man And to all those G1 Babies, stop whining and watch the movie!
Recently, SRW OGS has finally been released after being delayed for almost a year and the rumours on Huckebeins were baloneys afterall. Well, some people got nuthin' better to do...
Alrite, cut the crap and I'll tell what I really meant with those 3 words. I was thinking of a OGS fanfiction and at the same time, I was sort of inspired by Micheal Bay and Steven Spielberg(one of my idols) in their way of bringing the cybertronians to the big screen. Therefore, I have decided on how I want to write about my OGS fanfic-I want to make it looked real, like in our world. It will means a total story rewrite from the original Terada plot as we are talking about cramping so many characters into one plot, and most drastic of all, some redesignings for certain mechs to get along well with other designs. Yeah, I am thinking about redesigning the DGG series, for example? Don't worry, just for my fanfic...
I know, I know... I'm gonna screw up everyone's SRW fanstasy and their favourite characters plus mechs. But this is my own version of SRW OGS and why should I just use back the same old stuffs when I know all the SRW games are like steamboats or korean BBQs, where you can just put anything in it and pop into your mouth without knowing what is it. Do I sounded like Remy from Ratatouille? I don't want to eat garbage, honest!
Also, I just find the OGS storyline stereotyping, you know, young teenage boys/girls piloting mechas, wearing inappropriate outfits into battles, flapping boobies for your perverted minds, dull conversations, awkward shy guys etc. Superficially Japanese afterall...
Lastly, I don't find sweat and blood in today's anime anymore. Most of the males have become dickless, cross dressing bishounens and females... well, anyone above 17 is discarded... Pathetic.
What I really want is something of Frank Miller's 300 and SinCity, real military ethics, fall-out-of-grace and redemption, dark and bright etc. Practically, anything that sound and feel real, more than being a fan...
Hajime Katoki once said "Do people, like myself, spend time imagining what it would be like if Gundam robots were actually present on the streets of our cities? Are you sure you're not limiting yourself to the images that were offered in the animated series? One of the reasons that I fell in love with Gundam was that it excites me to imagine what it would be like if these machines actually existed, and I worry that other fans may be losing out..." I do spend time doing that, do you?
Well, gotta go now. About my little SRW doujin, I will let you know more in future. Cheerio

Alrite! Alrite! I know that I have been such a jerk for keeping you guys waiting for the past 2 months. To make things up for you guys, I decided to showcase the first piece of "Going Beyond Mecha" work here on DA and man, I'm really excited about it and can't wait to get my hands working on the another piece. One is just not enough and I want more...

I've been quite busy with other errands in life lately and of course things might sure get in the way but I still do find time to churn out something non-mecha for a change. I even push myself harder this time by visualising the highly detailed Milan's Vittorio Emanuele II gallery. To make things harder, I've painted the whole background from scratches instead of photo-montaged it with a photoshop. Finally, it does give me a total brand new feel and it makes me think that going beyond mecha is pretty rewarding. At least, now you don't think that I'm just only a gearhead.

Initially, I wasn't sure if I could accomplish such a mammoth task. This Milano gallery is super detailed! But I told myself these 3 words "Think, focus and apply", and with determination and carefully executing it, I did it...

It's the same thing that we've learned back in school-"With determination, even a rod can becomes a needle." Especially for newbies at this art-illustration trade, work hard and don't give up easily. Passion is the essence of everything we do.

Also, it doesn't mean that I'll gonna stop drawing mechas in future. I just can't wait to post some new mecha stuffs soon... Lastly, to tell the truth, I didn't lie about my gender. Womens know what they really want, but mens know what looks good on them

Till then, cheerio

I know what you were thinkin'. What's keeping V from posting some new stuffs? Well, to tell the truth. I'm up to something and I was too excited about the whole idea I've got. Going beyond mecha is a whole new experience for me and I know a lot of people out there would think that I lied about my gender and will go "Hey, V's a woman afterall?"
Somehow I would asked my only one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do I?

It might takes longer than I expected, but of course before the fifth of November... Till' then, cheerio

“WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Seven Republican senators, who support a resolution that opposes sending more troops to Iraq, is considering political tactics to force debate on the measure, which stalled in the Senate this week.”
While US troops in Iraq has to risk their lives to cover their fellow Americans sorry asses and they are getting killed by hostile actions such as road bombs and insurgencies almost everyday. The official figure is at 3,000 plus casualties on the US troops side.
“BAGHDAD, Iraq - Thunderous explosions and dense smoke swirled through central Baghdad on Monday when three car bombs ripped apart a crowded marketplace in a Shiite neighborhood, setting off secondary explosions and killing at least 71 people, police said. A suicide bombing nearby killed at least nine.”
The people of post-Saddam Iraq are living in fear with their lives on the thread as deaths are seemingly becoming a daily routine with suicide bombings and car bombings in public areas, the people themselves are the easy targets.
Seriously, while we’re condemning war is bad and urging the US troops out of Iraq, have we ever consider about what to do in the aftermath? Does anyone has have ideas for better administration for the people of Iraq? How are we going to prevent more bloodshed among Iraqis? Is there a better way to reassure the western paranoid perception of the east? The answer is, a zero. As we’re pointing fingers and accused each other for bring wars upon our heads.
Sometimes, I felt that it all goes down to the fact that most of us around the world, are taking peace times for granted. Mankind histories are full of bloodsheds and warfare, which are important lessons for the younger generations to learn from their ancestors’ glories and mistakes. Then again, it also serves as a reminder of how hard our ancestors fought, protect and built to bring us to this world and the price they paid to bought us freedom that we’re enjoying today. Maybe that’s what makes war stories so enjoyable.
Recently, I’ve just read about the Malaysian ex-premier-Dr Mahathir (you probably ask “Dr WHO?”) who headed the Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Commission heard a petition seeking US-Bush, UK-Blair and AUS-Howard to be tried for war crimes and going with the “War is Criminal” hot air. Later, he sort of contradicted himself when he showed supports for the Iraqi resistances in their fight against the US forces. “The body bags will help the Americans realize that no one should hegemonies and do whatever they like.” quoted Mahathir. Excuse me, these Iraqi resistances seem to be killing innocent Iraqi civilians every hour and they are more like trigger happy nuts like the insurgents in southern Thailand to me. Typically biased views from our ex-PM but that’s what he is good at - getting on other’s thorn sides.
Personally, I don’t agree that US troops should leave Iraq without cleaning up the mess they left behind. And I think that other nations aren’t playing their roles as part of the world by providing UN troops to take over Iraq when they want US to pull out so badly. Such hypocrisies would only end up zero.
Confucius once said “There must be sufficient food, adequate arms and people faith in the government.” If one is force to give up, which one should go first? Confucius replied “Give up arms” And when one is to be forced to give up the remaining 2, which one should go? Confucius said “Give up food, since death is unavoidable from the day we’re born. But if people lost faith in their leaders, there is nothing worth standing for.” And that’s how I felt for the US troops and the Iraqi civilians because they both have no one to turn to for help and support. Instead, the ex-POWs from Abu Ghraib are the center of attention here. Yeah right, the best way to get sympathies by declaring you’re an ex-convict of Abu Ghraib. Senator Hillary maybe tomorrow’s first female US president while Obama maybe the first black president and both of them has the same political selling point-to bring back the US troops and ended the war. But I’m having doubts on their consciences whether by pulling US troops out, giving up on Iraqi civilians and leave a mess behind are right things to do
I’m no warmonger and I also don’t oppose wars either, I just see that war is a form of struggle which are in our competitive instincts and survivals. Be it war of economy, words or sports, competitions actually help us grow. But most important of all, war also makes us realized that the freedom and privileges we’re living on are of those on the front line who sacrificed themselves for humanity. Don’t take peace for granted. Peace.

Greetings, my fellow deviants. It’s 2007 but the net is like back in 1997, slow isn’t it? Although repairs are on the way, it will take approximately 3 weeks to get things back up to the present speed. Pipe down, things would soon be up in no time.

I’ve been posting my artworks on DA for quite some time now and the pleasure is overwhelming, thank you. All this time, I realize that my mecha works are like fast selling hotcakes compared to other works such as girls and cartoon ideas. So it keeps me wonder, am I just only a mecha artist? Should I only draw mechas’ all the time? Does my circle only cover the mecha realm?

There are times I do wish to extend my circle beyond the mecha line to others like conceptual, fantasy, glamorous, funny, witty, emotional etc. DA has got a hell lots of great artists and I hope to get acquaint with them. I mean, a mecha artist meets a fantasy artist meets a conceptual artist meet a photographer etc. So far, I do have some friends here who are of other leagues than mechas. Thank you.

My gratitude goes to all the people who have been close and supportive to me at DA and in real life, thank you to all, I really appreciate it. I’m certainly gonna keep doing what I really good at doing, but I would like to hear from you guys what do you think?

Thought I might as well wrap this year with a journal entry, it's been a loonnng year for me in 2006 and I have a lot of memories left behind. Can't believe it, 365 days already and I'm a year older again?
To tell the true, I'm not really into new year eves as it always makes my eyes watery when I cherish on my accomplishments and lament about my failures. And the day after tomorrow, it's either new breakthroughs in the world or more bad news at our doorsteps. Like recently, they executed one of the badasses of the last century-Saddam Hussein and let's see who's next on the noose in time to come. After the execution, more bloodsheds are expected in Iraq or maybe other nations, but it's nothing new at all as Saddam is the least of the insurgents concerns. Economy will either rise or fall as any major events has its impacts on the stock exchanges, more jobs will be available then followed by major retrenchments of various companies. South East Asia and other parts of the world are very much likely to get more natural disasters as the world climate changes every year. Yeah, maybe Japan will sink into the ocean...(touch wood) Then, another major political election where we voted for an ideal leader whom we can't count on and good at making promises.
Still, let's be optimistic. Everyone carries on everyday and every year till they're at the end of their paths. The citizens of Iraq live on their lives as blood spills everyday while the US and the interim goverment are working on to bring stability. It's a long shot but I do believe it will work, if we only work together as a world instead of pointing fingers, critising and blowing up each other. The world has no room for suicide bombers and hypocrites.
Afer going thru successes and failures, I too move on with the world. Most important of all, I haven't give up what I really like and enjoy doing throughout my life, it's always in me and nothing take that away from me. Yes, I'm drawing and painting till the day I hold my last breath, and I'll keep doing that in the afterlife. Happy New Year.
And till then, Cheerio!

Love

Meeting Sharon Chin

Last Sunday, I went to the Australian Edufair to attend a seminar organised by Sharon Chin at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center. As you can see, Sharon Chin is a local fine artist, a sculpture and a columnist on fine art. She was a graduate from the Victorian College of Art, Australia and that's why she was given a chance to hold a seminar at the Aussie edufair.
When I was there to attend the seminar, intially I thought I have arrived earlier than the rest, but it turned out that I'm one of the only 2 persons attend the fine art seminar. Next to me is Ms Therese, a counsellor from the National University of Australia... Worse, the projector doesn't seem to work with Sharon's laptop, so we can't see her stuffs. Man, what a bummer for Sharon.
Somehow, we still carried on with the seminar and it was very interesting. Sharon was very courteous and full of giggles, she also shared us with her experiences about how she got from being a vet to become a full time fine artist, the outcomes and the costs while being on the journey. She also expressed how sad that the fine art industry in Malaysia isn't that active as most malaysians preceived art as unprofitable and seeing it as a hobby, well, it's the same as everywhere to me.
Next thing I heard was from the Aussie counsellor who expressed her disappointment that most students came to asked her about enrolling into music school, for the sake of becoming a star singer. And when she told them that the program requires them to learn up various musical instruments such as the oboe, clarinet, double bass, trombone etc, they all just lost their interest for enrolment as their true intention is to gain fame.
For those singer-wannabes, go sign up for idol auditions and get your ass kicked by Cowell! Stop wasting the counsellors' time!
Things still shined with a glimmer of light as we shared ideas on how to bring up the fine art industry here, maybe roping in more foreign investments like from US and Europe to creating more awareness and instill knowledges for young minds here to learn more about art.
On the musiocology part, the industry requires more than just a rock band. Other music genre such as orchestras, symphonies and plays need players of various instruments as well or these genres would become extinct. So it is up to those who're really passionate about music to keep the flame going on and that also applies onto fine art. Passion is the essence of everything we do.
It was truly a refreshing discussion with Sharon and Therese that day and those who only think about their stomachs have miss the fun. So it wasn't so bad for me, Sharon and Therese. I learned about keeping your passion high and never giving it up for materialistic purposes, or I don't having anything to live on.
Time for me to go now, cheerio!

It sounds like a chain letter which have been circulating all over the DA, but in fact, it's pretty helpful to let people know more about our art styles, taste and ideas. This is all I got for show and tell.

1. When did you start drawing?
I have been drawing since when I was little, back then I would just doodled anything on any surfaces. Books, walls, tables etc.

2. Who are your biggest influences?
My biggest influences were Hajime Katoki and Yoji Shinkawa. Katoki is a mecha guru to me while Shinkawa is my figure guru.

3. What are your favourite subjects?
My favourite subject would have to be mechas, robots and vehicles but women are my favourites too.

4. What is your main genre at art?
Sometimes I go for anime/manga, sometimes for real life and other times I would go for something fashionable and hip. Now I just go for everything.

5. Which do you prefer? Traditional or CG?
I prefer traditional arts than CG arts.

6. Why?
Because traditional arts to me are more natural and valuable than CG and I'm more faster with my hands than moving the mouse.

7. What are your inspirations?
Well, as long anything that touches my heart and triggers my will.

8. What are your ambitions in future?
I do hope someday I can do art for a living, like those guys at Central Market, Kuala Lumpur.

9. What are your future plans?
I wanted to learn oil painting techniques, but maybe I should stick back to acrylics as oil paints take a long time to dry.

10. Any words of advice to share with the fellow artists here?
In art, you have to be a perfectionist if you want to be better. I may slacked with other things but not with what I'm really good at.

There you go, 10 things about me and my art. Well, I may want to end the tag here and bury it. A chain would broke someday, if any DA members want to carry on with it, dig in.
That's all I want to say and it's for me to ciao, cheerio!

Love,

Well, looks like I have been here for quite some time and my mailbox is bloated like a balloon. Here, I would like to show my appreciation for all the comments, favourites and friends I have met on DA. It's been great, thanks!
To me, establishing a network of communications among people across the globe brings the world as one. Before the WWWeb, these communications are made thru pen-pals, overseas trips and business trades, which wasn't easy to communicate as it is today. Online forums are made to create a community where people from around the world share their interests and views on common topics, thus contributes to the world's communication network.
Although politics are unavoidable, it still can be minimized so that nobody screws up a party. Maybe that's why forums have become so strict on freespeech recently. Hopefully I haven't step on any toes but hey, what's life without spices and tides? A forum has got to be interesting or it might as well be dead boring. To the CF members here at DA, cheers!
Time for me to wrap up, cheerio!
