Anyways, my first day of college was today. Fortunately it was only at a local community college, so the drive was short. Probably Aang and Katara. I like Aang because he's spunky and hyper, whereas I like Katara because she seems like a well-balanced role model: independant and strong, but not too tomboyish or agressive.

2. The character you never expected to love as much as you do now:
When I first saw Iroh, I thought he was just a minor background character to keep Zuko company, but now he's in my top 3. He seems to be the most intellectually and emotionally developped character (well, he has to be considering his age), but he he's too humble to rub it in peoples' faces.

3. The character everyone else loves that you don't:
Jet was a royal jerk the first time 'round, although he was a little better the 2nd time and somewhat pitiable, his constant lies still kinda rubbed me the wrong way. IMO Zuko is a little overrated (not that he's bad), he seems to be too much like the typical "antihero" archetype. I was tempted to say Azula, but she's more of a "character I love to hate", rather than a character I actually hate.

4. The character you love that everyone else hates:
Every character in this series has their share of fans. I like Toph, and the fandom seems kinda lukewarm about her compared to the others. Also, there don't seem to be that many Iroh fans. *sigh* it's all the young characters these days >>

5. The character you used to love but don't any longer:
Maybe my appreciation for Aang and Katara decreased slightly as I started liking other characters more, but other than that I can't think of any.

Fullmetal Alchemist
1. The character you first fell in love with:
For the first couple of episodes, the Elrics were the only main characters around so it wasn't like I had a choice XD Of the two I probably prefer Al because he's the more selfless one. I kinda like Hughes, then I really liked him after... y'know.

2. The character you never expected to love as much as you do now:
Roy Mustang came off as a jerk at first, but when they showed his connections with Hughes I really admired him. And when you saw all the crap he had to put up with in order to get what he wanted, you kinda feel sorry for him. At first Scar seemed like a simplistic "vengeful" character, but when he developed a sort of respect for Al and a tolerance for Ed, it looked like he had gone through a big change. The fact that the military is about as bad as he says also makes him a more sympathetic character. And also there's the Fuhrer because he's so mysterious. Even when you think you know everything about him. I'd also like to add Wrath. Yes, he was really annoying in the series, but his (rather painful) sacrifice in the movie says a lot, especially when you consider what he is.

3. The character everyone else loves that you don't:
I used to hate Winry, then I started to think she was ok, but now I don't like her again XD. I hated her at first because she seemed eerily similar to Amy Rose, but now I dislike her because she has a big entitlement complex when it comes to her "brothers". I also have to add Izumi, although I'm starting to come around. I just disliked the fact that she was so hard on the elrics for doing what she did, she seemed far harder on them then on herself, seems a tad hypocritical. I guess I'm not a big fan of the female characters on this show for some reason XD.

4. The character you love that everyone else hates:
Nobody hates Al, but there are a lot of people that seem to like Ed more, probably just because he's older. I kinda like Armstrong for comedic value (even if it is gross sometimes), but most people seem to despise him. Not many people seem that interested in the Fuhrer either. I also liked Hohenheim, despite his late and short appearance. Dante is also one of those characters that you "love to hate" because her reasoning is so circular and she's obviously in denial, and yet otherwise she seems perfectly sane and stable. Her cold, empty nature actually makes her seem more human, in a way. I kinda wish they'd do a spinoff with her and Hohenheim.

5. The character you used to love but don't any longer:
I thought Hawkeye was interesting at first, she was a tomboy without trying too hard, but it's a shame that her character didn't really go anywhere in the anime.

Kim Possible
1. The character you first fell in love with:
Drakken and Shego, mostly because I love their voice actors. They may be a little overused, but that's ok because they're the best villains by far. Of the two I probably favor Drakken, just because being evil is more difficult for him because he's bad at it.

2. The character you never expected to love as much as you do now:

To quote a good friend: "What de fook?" What is that? Granted, I didn't have high expectations when I heard about a new transformers series (it's all been going downhill since Beast Wars ended), but this looks like screwing up the formula and writing wasn't enough for them; now they gotta mess with the aesthetics. It looks like something the teen titans regurgitated. On the plus side, if it's actually written by the people who did Titans, it might be good, but the animation style so does not fit the series. Although, I was kinda hoping that they'd make another season of the titans once they were done with this Ben Ten stuff >> (and the season 5 finale was NOT an ending: Terra? OMGWTFBBQ?)

I made my way to where a bunch of Smoochum were swarming but got sidetracked by a few other battles on the way. I practically walked(/ran) on water to get to the patch of grass where it was, and a random battle sprung up just before the clock hit midnight AND IT WAS SMOOCHUM!! I caught her and now my pokedex is one step closer to completion ^^

Not much else to say, I just thought that that was an incredible stroke of luck.

Read the comments and you'll realize that this is a fake. From what I hear this has been happening a lot lately, but it doesn't make sense: why hack not only a DA account, but also LJ and AIM accounts just for a sick joke? The hacker(s) don't seem to be doing this for their own benefit or for the sake of a grudge. Talk about pointless. FYI if you ever see a death note posted by a DA member's supposed friend or loved one, chances are it's fake. Granted, most people would probably doubt it anyway just out of denial, but due to these hackings it's actually the more likely outcome for the "death" to be fake.

I'm thankful that my laptop doesn't have much adware/spyware anymore (or at least none that's noticeable), but it seems to be very scarred from junk that it's had on there in the past. It runs smoothly, but it can't run very many things and it's pretty much the most incompatible machine I've ever used. I doubt it was built to these specifications, most of its important files were probably corrupted in the past. *sigh* I might try installing again later, but for now it looks like no art, unless if my brother will let me use his laptop, and even then I would only be able to upload art whenever he's home from college.

As for the good news, my graduation ceremony was last night. It went without a hitch, and although it was long it was very efficient compared to Band concerts I've had in the past.

FYI I was referring to the fact that I bought some of the new(ish) pokemon games over the weekend after not having played it since the days of Red and Blue. I haven't been able to get my DS to work with our wireless router (although oddly enough the Wii works), but I'd be happy to post my friend code when the time comes. I guess the "I try to get out" saying could also apply to my DA membership.

Where I've been: 2006 wasn't a very big year for me in terms of internet. My PC was fried in January (or was that in 2005? Man it's been too long) and since then I had been slowly distancing myself from the internet. It began to peak around fall of 06. It was almost like a phobia; I couldn't stand being around computers or even looking at them. The family laptop was in my room because at the time I was the big computer freak of the family, but since it was hooked up to a wired modem it wasn't going anywhere, so I'd literally have to leave my room because I just didn't feel comfortable hearing the clicking.

Then around October or November I got my driver's liscense so I started staying after for Anime club more often, and I started using the computer there. That really helped because it built up my confidence again and I slowly transitioned to using our computer again. It was earlier this year that I finally started using the internet casually and browsing this site. As usual I probably won't be putting up a ton of art since I'm kinda lazy like that. I've taken an interest in painting but I don't do it that often. I updated my profile/info, and I might try installing my scanner on my laptop.

depends on your definition of anger. I rarely get angry with anyone, but I do get annoyed often, and in that case it's the kid who sits next to me in band because he always complains.

2. What is your weapon of choice?
in real life? none, but preferably a non-lethal one; in fictional situations? probably a staff or sniper rifle

3. Would you hit a member of the opposite sex?:
No, unless if it were to protect someone

I don't really know who gets angry at me and who doesn't

people who complain/whine constantly (I don't mind a little rant now and then, I'm talking about the people who can't have a conversation without complaining about some little thing), watching someone else use a computer (it just makes me... uncomfortable), annoying advertisements, girls who chime in with "that's because girls are so much better than boys" whenever any topic remotely gender-related is brought up, people who make stupid assumptions, commercials for body sprays, needless toilet humor or cussing.

As usual I haven't written bubcus for my fic but I'm beginning to wonder whether I should bother. Not because it's not good enough, but because it may be too good. I mean, this story is constantly changing in my head and it's gotten to a point where all of the Sonic characters have been replaced with original characters and it just feels akward imagining it as a sonic fanfic, you know? And I really hope one day to either make a book or movie out of it and I would just die if someone read it on here and ripped it off. This isn't the last of my fic, don't worry. I may just continue writing it for the sake of writing practice but take it in a different direction from my intended project. I don't want to let you guys down, but of course this is provided that I'll have the patience to do it. If I don't do that then I'll at least write a general plot outline for my fic or something like that just so you can know where I was gonna go with it, but of course this could just be the stress talking.

I'm sure once I get more free time and get my head together I'm gonna regret writing everything above and start saying different things, so don't act like what I said is set in stone, it's just one of many things that may happen. As for the title, I'm going to be spending this weekend at a confirmation retreat. It's mandatory, I'm afraid = / It'll probably be the first time I'll be out of the house without my parents for more than two days. I'm sure some of you think that's rather sad, but I'm not a very out-doorsy person and I have great parents, so yeah.

Well, Narnia wasn't that great. The very beginning was alright, after that it was downright awful, the second half was pretty good but things felt too rushed.

(there are probably some minor spoilers here, but nothing that'll spoil the ending or anything). keep in mind that I'm uncertain as to how many of the problems are the result of the film makers or C.S. Lewis (the writer of the book).

What bothered me the most about this movie was how stupid some of the characters' choices were. I won't spoil it for you, but believe me when I say there'll be parts of the movie where you feel embarassed for them.

Now, what confuses me the most is that christian groups see this as a movie of great morals, but there are really only three morals I could derive from it:

1. Killing things solves your problems. Granted, there wasn't as much killing in this movie as you'd anticipate from the trailer. But in the first half of the movie the kids take a sort of passive approach to their quest and in return they're dealt with hardship and uncertainty. But then Santa Clause himself gives the kids swords and knives and once they kill their first enemy then conditions suddenly improve a bunch for them.

2. Women don't make good leaders. There are really only two female characters in the movie that can be described as leaders: The white witch, who's obviously evil, and Susan, the older sister. Now, Susan is a sort of bookworm and logic runs her life. Ironically, her choices and suggestions in the movie are inhumanly illogical. Even when it's made abundantly clear that the witch wants them dead, she constantly tries to convince the others to turn back or surrender. Well, the book was written in 1950...

3. Evil people are evil for no reason. Granted, the book does describe the white witch as "completely evil" but that doesn't mean she needs to be flat and boring in the movie. She could still pull off the whole "I'm really evil" bit if she had a motive. I mean, nobody grabs for power out of selfishness alone, usually there's a reason why they want to the power: namely, to change something. It could be to change a law, or to opress or protect a certain group of people, to improve national security or to force your moral code and beliefs onto the populus. It's not like it's a sin to change the source material when adapting it into a movie. Take Batman Begins for example: they gave Batman a code of morals which he didn't have before to make him a convincing character.

My overall verdict: If you're a fan of fairy tales or old-fashioned story telling, see this movie. But if you're expecting a big epic like Lord of the Rings like I was, don't bother. I'd give it a 6 out of 10 Needless to say, this movie has dulled my interest in the books.

I've been playing Ninja Gaiden non-stop lately, and ironically I got the game in christmas of '04. I hope to do some ninja gaiden fanart as soon as I'm done with this drawing class.

As a result I haven't been able to do much else in terms of art (although I have been playing my fair share of ninja gaiden lately). I haven't made any progress on the anthro character since my last entry, although I feel like I'm close to completion. I've decided on the hair style and the eyes, it's just the muzzle that has me puzzled. I'm currently debating whether to have a more animal-like muzzle or a more human-like muzzle.

And there's one thing I'm curious about: have any of you ever heard of or participated in something called Saint Nicholas day? It's a tradition on my dad's side of the family but I've never heard of anyone else doing it, it's basically a holiday where the kids go to sleep on dec. 5 and wake up on the 6th to find candy and treats on the kitchen table and in their shoes (but we don't do the shoe part, and also we always do it the Sunday after the 6th). Anyways, I got some new art supplies as a gift, as well as a new sketchbook. So, all is well...

The song in this movie is so addicting, it wasn't at first but then I had it stuck in my head all next day, and the movie footage ain't half bad either (even if it is very confusing)

Anyways, I'm currently in the process of designing an anthro-styled character based on me. Sure, I do have the sonic-styled one in my icon, but I'm getting a little tired of him. Plus I want to try drawing things a little more complex than sonic style. As for the progress on my character, I pretty much have the body and colors figured out, I'm mostly struggling with finding the right muzzle/nose shape, that's usually where I have the most problems when drawing living things.

I haven't been able to work on my anthro thingy too much because I'm busy with a drawing for art class that I'm a little behind on (I had to redo the lineart, which was a little annoying but I'm just glad that it's done) although I am pondering ideas.

Anyways, yesterday was...interesting. I went to this art fair thing for various colleges. Basically I brought my portfolio and officials from various art colleges would judge it. The only school I got an evaluation from was MCAD, because all the other schools were either too far away or they didnt' have what I was looking for. But anyways, they told me that I need to practice more so I can bulk up my portfolio for next year. So, I'm gonna try to practice drawing more often. Afterwards we had lunch at a korean noodle place, where I tried spring rolls (which were good, except the dipping sauce O_o) and had some noodle salad which would've tasted great if it didn't have celantro in it x_x.

Anyways, I am just dying to get Star Wars Battlefront 2 @_@. Luckily it comes out on the same day as the ep. 3 dvd, so it's less likely to be bought up.

Sorry about the lack of journals, I've been feeling a little stressed these past weeks. I dunno why, nothing bad's happened and I'm in the middle of a five-day weekend. Today (and part of yesterday) I've been feeling sick. When we went out to eat I was practically shivering my skin off, I also had/have a headache and sore throat. But on the plus side, this weird wart thing in my right ear canal is starting to go away.

Anyways, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 arrived, about 10 days ago. It takes forever to unlock everything in that game O_O I still haven't gotten it all (although I have all the characters I don't have all the costumes or galleries). I mostly haven't drawn/written/updated because I've been playing the game quite often. I really wish Capcom hadn't gone up and sold the Marvel videogame license, I really hope someday they'll get it back and make an online sequel.

Anyways, that new pic I drew recently (well, at the time of my last journal) is finished and stuff (if I haven't mentioned it already), but I've decided for the time being not to submit it. It's not like the last pic, I think it looks very nice. It's just that the subject matter was based on a certain 'event' that's passed and submitting it now would just make me feel akward. I mean, I doubt anyone would get offended or anything like that, but for some reason I don't feel comfortable with submitting it. Sorry to bail out on you all again, but if it's any consolation I'm gonna start writing ch. 2 of my fic tomorrow. I guess part of the reason I haven't submitted is because I haven't felt well and MvC2 owns my soul, but I should've done at least something since my last journal, sorry all x_o

I havent' drawn anything in ages because I can really only work on one thing at a time, and for now I've chosen to work on my Halo 2 guide. But on the plus side tommorrow is friday, and I'll try to get some drawings done. I want to start drawing some stuff from my fic. Speaking of the fic, once I finish up my guides I might start writing it again (and this time I'll actually move on with the story instead of redoing it), but I'm afraid I don't really have the energy to do two writing projects at once, sorry that I'm taking so long guys : /

Anyways, as for the title of this journal, I was reading the latest issue of EGM and read an article on Halo 2, since I love that game. And basically it was about an intern who was tutored in the game and got better (although he wasn't quite good IMO). I wasn't suprised by the fact that there were people who tutor for online gaming lessons or even that they charge a nominal fee. But these guys (that trained the intern) were charging $35 an hour! What the heck? I mean, I can understand charging 15 or 20 at the most for lessons, but 35 an hour? I mean, it's not like you're teaching them how to fight with real life weapons. I mean, I'm sure that they give good lessons (since they are true pros) but still, no videogame lesson could be worth 35 an hour. This makes me remember an article I read on how japan used to have school courses on certain videogames.

Anyways, when I began reading the article this almost started to discourage me from finishing my Halo 2 guide (which I've actually been working on a lot lately and it's really shaping up), but after I read how the intern still got his ass kicked and how much those guys were charging, I wasn't impressed. So, I dunno what I can promise about my guide other than this: it won't cost you a dime.

As for my smash brothers guide? I want to put a little more time into my Halo 2 guide first, but the smash guide is about 85-95% done, I just need to add some strategies for the lesser-covered characters. And BTW, just so you know, with my Halo 2 guide I've decided to split it into two guides: a campaign guide and a multiplayer guide. The multiplayer guide will undoubtedly come out first, since that's the one I've been working on lately and the bulk of my first draft (which covered both and was in crappy condition IMO) mostly covered multiplayer anyway. The campaign guide will come much later, if at all. Sorry but I'm just not interested in it at the moment, I may write a guide for it once I beat the game on heroic or something.

In other news, all Halo 2 maps are available for download, which makes me a happy camper (not the FPS kind of camper). All of them are pretty cool and it's starting to get me back into the game. I'm sure I'll be playing it a lot if and when we get a better router later this year.

Also, school starts in about 5 days or so, and my classes look ok, at least I don't have to worry about phy ed this year. I've also, for the most part, finished my super smash brothers (melee) combat guide, I just have to make a few additions and it shoudl be ready for release. In some ways it exceeded what I expected it to be and in other ways it wasn't as much as I had hoped.

And for anyone who cared or even remembered: I've decided to postpone my in-progress Halo 2 guide indefinitely, I might just start over, who knows, but my current guide's in a pretty poor state (it's full of a lot of empty information).

And also: I'm in the middle of a huge session of brain constipation. There's so much crap that I want to draw and write but I can't do it all and I can't decide what to do first, so in the end none of it gets done x_x Hopefully once school starts I can make more stuff, I usually do during school because I'm less lazy.

Anyways, sorry I've done very little this summer, granted that aprox. 1/6th of it was eaten up by vacation and I was busy for an additional week when all that company came over, but I still should've been able to get more done than I did x_x

Anyways, I mostly made this journal to get the other one off the front page. I'm also thinking of making a new personal icon, my current one has been around for a long time.

Since I was bored today I read New Rules by Bill Moher, which my mom bought for my brother. The guy makes some good points and some parts are pretty funny but others I disagree with (although quite a few of these I suspect he was being sarcastic when saying). While he's against pretty much everything that's right wing, he also likes to make cheap shots at married people and he's pretty perverted too.

In artsy news: I was thinking about submitting my "failed" image as a scrap shortly after I made the last journal but after looking at it again I'm afraid this one will never see the light of day. Sure, I liked the lineart but the coloring really breaks the image.

Hey, I haven't been on much lately because pretty much everyone on my dad's side of the family has been here for the past 3 days. I *think* the last of them will be leaving tommorrow morning so I'm free to do stuff.

Basically I've had my grandparents, my three aunts and uncle, three of my cousins (one of which is that bratty one I mentioned in one of my journals from about a year ago), one of my dad's old friends, and my great aunt and her friend over here. And I've also had two other grandparents and two aunts on my mom's side over as well.

And also I have something else to add: I'm so very bored! What I'm mostly bored of is my videogame library, sure it's bigger than anyone else's I've seen (hell, it's probably bigger than all my friends' collections combined) but I just can't find anything worth playing x_x I'm starting to get interest in SSBM a little bit, but that may only last for a few days (btw I'm thinking of doing an advanced combat guide for that game if my boredom keeps up.

I'm just dying to sink my teeth into a new game, my first thought was Marvel vs. Capcom 2, but it seems unlikely that I'll ever get it, save from eBay, but that would take a while to ship and the prices are pretty high. I'm starting to take an interest in the Metal Gear Solid series, and the Gamecube remake just dropped in price so maybe I'll get that to hold me over until I can find a more suitable way of getting MvC2

Anyways, I've been looking all over for the game Marvel vs. Capcom 2, I checked some Gamestops today to no avail, so I may just get it on ebay. It's a cool game yo.

Anyways, I'm pretty happy that I managed to get something drawn this weekend. Sure, it's not as much as I had hoped for but my main concern was that after not drawing for so long I would get rusty, but I haven't(at least not in terms of lineart).

Anyways, I might be busy this week though because I have a book to finish up for English class. Hopefully I can draw some new stuff and color my sniv pic(sure it'll mostly be grays and silvers, but I still want to try em' out).

But what was worst of all is that my internet was excrutiatingly bad today, so I couldn't use Instant Messaging AT ALL. I mean seriously, it would not work, even though it said I was signed it. I'd be lucky to recieve one response for every ten messages I'd send because my poor connection drowns out everyone else. So, I was unable to talk to others in order to help myself feel better. So, if you need to talk to me about something just send a note, 'cuz both AIM and MSN don't work for me.

Hopefully sometime I'll get around to drawing something, I meant to do it last weekend but I just kept procrastinating it. And even though I had today off(due to a power failure at the school) I still never got around to doing it. ._. I'm such a sloth.

Anyways, this weekend I plan to try and sketch some pics of my fic characters, so I can finalize their designs and give some insight as to what they look like.

And fortunately I'm finally feeling better in terms of health, all that I have now is a little bit of a bad cough(which beats a soar throat and a sinus infection any day).

Watched the preview of American Dad, it started off a little slow but quickly escalated in humor levels. When I first heard of this show I thought it was just gonna be some half-hearted filler between family guy seasons, but this show might eclipse or even top Family Guy once it gets going. The show has a new style of humor and totally original characters, different to that of Family Guy. I can't wait for the actual series to start.

I also rented Star Fox Assault. I'd say it's worth a rental(especially since blockbuster stores put it out two weeks before it will hit the retail market) but not really worth a purchase. The gameplay is nice, but a little short(undoubtedly the game's biggest downside). And the voice acting is still annoying. And, of course, the cutscenes still have that tiny ring of cornyness that has stuck with the series since the start(I swear I cringed during that "brain" pun from Star Fox 64). The plot is better than that of other Star Fox games(as in, there actually is one) but on it's own it's so-so. However, contrary to what other reviews say, the on-foot and land master missions actually handle rather smoothly and don't break up the game in the least. The game's not as good as Star Fox 64(which is one of my all time favs), IMO, but it definitely tops Star Fox Adventures as well as the SNES Star Fox games.

In crappy news: I don't have Nicktoons TV anymore ._. My parents couldn't pay our TV bills since the rates went up, so in order to lessen the load a few channels(selected by the provider) were dropped from our package. For those who don't know: Nicktoons TV is a Satelite/Digital Cable channel which shows "classic" cancelled cartoons that were once on Nickelodeon. I suppose it's not a total loss though, I still have the Invader Zim DVDs. But now I'll have to go without Rocko for a while....again.

Out of all the countless disney sequels, there have only been two that I liked: Aladdin 3(but then again, I had to sit through Aladdin 2 to get to it) and Toy Story 2(I'm not even sure if that was Disney though)

rules of a disney sequel:

1. the villain of the sequel must either be:
a. the same villain from the first one, who survived in some cheap implausible way
b. someone who is affiliated with the previous villain, but never actually appeared in the first movie
c. one of the secondary villains from the first film that the hero forgot to kill

2. At least one of the main characters has to have a new relative that plays a role in the story, most commonly a younger sibling or offspring.

3. the catchy musical style and moving visuals from the first movie have mysteriously vanished, save for flashbacks. odd.

4. No matter how conclusive the ending of the previous installment was, everything from the previous ending must be undone in order to ultimately be redone, albeit to a lesser degree, in this installment.

5. If it's a disney sequel, it will never see the dim light of a cellphone in a movie theater(translation: home video only).
