Rapid deployabke, harsh environment specialized, rugged, high-speed infantry. Fort Drum, New York, the 'frozen north.' Sounds like a load of fun. None of the other NCOs have anything nice to say about Drum, but everything to say about the unit. 10th Mountain does some good work. Finally, a unit with pride and honor.

I'll be deploying in November. Talk about rapid deployment. I'll have a month getting used to the climate at Drum, then sent to the Middle East where it's balls hot. What the hell?
Holy crap boot camp flew by quick. And AIT is going by fast, too. I've already been here a month. How crazy is that?

Basic Combat Training at Fort Benning was real fun, but it was no joke. We had the most fucked up cycle that 2/47 Infantry has ever had. It started off high speed, the crap you see in the movies; all the trash talking, yelling, and constant strenuous exercise. The Drill Sergeants would punish us for everything, from not tucking in your dog tags to not moving quick enough. We had a suicide early in the cycle, so things changed drastically. We lost Drill Sergeants, cancelled certain training events, changed several policies to prevent any more suicides, and basically fucked everything up from the NCOs to the recruits. Shit, man. It was crazy. On top of that, we were a guinea pig cycle and did some crazy combat qualification methods and crazy experimental physical training and shit. Hell, even our graduation was outta whack. We had the honor of graduating at the new National Infantry Museum and it piss poured rain. I don't know, it was whacked, but I made it through.

Fort Gordon AIT is what it is. Fucked up. No wonder the other military branches look down on the Army. There is no discipline here, especially in my company. It's a co-ed company so there's a lot of fraternization going on here. E Co. has the highest AWOL rates, the highest pregnancy rates, the highest FTR rates, and a huge lack of discipline. Coming from a high speed infantry BCT site, this place is a massive culture shock to the disciplined. I've even noticed some of my battle buddies beginning to slip... it sucks. Everytime we get smoked for some idiot entering the barracks through a window it makes me wonder why I didn't join a more academic branch of the military. But I'm here now, and I will fulfill my duty as a combat communications soldier. Just gotta stand tall and maintain my military bearing... I'll be alright.

I haven't seen the end product but I can assure you it's going to be low-budget and incredibly cheesy. Something about barbed wire, tanks, a ton of shells and ammunition, and a wrecked helicopter in Santa Paula. And the music isn't bad. I'm gonna try to make the relese show with Forbidden up in the Bay Area. It's going to be awesome. Then Testament, Death Angel, and Laaz Rockit will be playing at the Key Club in April!

Welcome To... Your Death!

Sucks, I don't have one anymore. But in three days time I'll have a 160GB Classic. In black. Wish they still had white. Not that silver shit. And in a flat, glass/plastic finish. None of that anodized aluminum shit; I guess it's okay for clumsy fools who tend to drop it. And whats with that convexity? It bugs, really. But I guess I have no choice but to get used to it. Fair trade for twice the storage of its predecessor, coverflow, improved battery life and smaller size.

My biggest complaint is about that stupid split-screen shit. I know what albums I have on my own media player, the thing doesn't have to tell me. I prefer the minimalistic approach. Coverflow's okay though. Not practical, but a cool feature, I suppose.

But still, slap a >30GB hard drive on an iPod Touch and I'd get that over a 160GB in a heartbeat. They say it'll drain battery life too fast... they're probably right, but it can't be that bad with a spinning platter in there. Four hours video, ten audio would be sufficient.

Baptism of fire, We'll not survive

I unearthed this string of ramblings from its Xanga grave this morning. It brought back some memories of how stupid we were back in high school. I didn't write this, but I thought it was funny.

Well i decided to take a stroll around the park today when i witnessed something awful. A little kid across from me was crying because he dropped his marbles. I felt bad for the kid but i didnt want to show him that im a person who would actually give a shit so i said, "Hey kid! Quit being a pussy and pick up your fucking marbles."

He was screaming even louder... I guess to drown out all other noise i.e. me. Well my temper got the best of me and I told him calmly, "If you don't fucking shut the fuck up im gonna stick my dick in your mouth."

Then at this point it seemed he was taunting me. Screaming because i didn't like it was gonna get him his one way ticket to 'I'm gonna knock every single one of your teeth into the back of your fucking throat' St.. I pushed the little bitch to the floor (since he was like 2 years old it was easy push the shit out of his light ass, causing his head to hit the floor first.). I picked up his head and smashed his face into every last marble he dropped. "fucking pick it up you queer," I told him in a firm voice, "oh you gonna cry? fucking piss your diaper? well im not changing that shit and neither is anyone else. you clean up your own shit you fucking lazy ass."

His mom came running out and I dragon kicked the shit out of her chest and she flew like 12 miles I think. Then I decided to run in and beat the shit out of his brother because he was in a wheelchair... and it was easy... and maybe he should learn how to walk. After beating his ass, I threw him out of the wheelchair and took the piece of shit seat with wheels. And I lived happily ever after.

The End.

And that is the difference between Democracy and Communism.

Shit to Do

I leaped into the pit during the first few bands at the Alpine and it was awesome. Brutal shit. I got kicked in the leg and I swear I heard it pop, even over Cattle Decapitation. I stepped aside and blacked out and all of a sudden I woke up on a couch being cradled by two blond metal sluts. The next morning my head had an insane lump of doom, but it was no big deal. I saw Row getting carried out, she tore some ligaments and fractured her ankle while thrashing in the pit. She's a trooper. Brutal night.
I didn't mosh the next day for two reasons, one being that I was still incredibly sore from the previous night, and two the lawn we were standing on was recently cut and was slippery, and had a big ol' kernel of dog shit in what we designated as the "danger zone." People moshed anyway, and Alex took a spill pretty close to that crap pile. Luckily the sweater he was wearing didn't end up with a nasty streak like in Next Friday, haha.

Awesome weekend of metal. Next Thursday will be Shadows of Illusion, Krusader, Warbringer, and DDT at the Alpine. I'm gonna get to work on the flyers.

I've been playing a lot of 360 lately. I recently had the time to catch up on my Gun and Call of Duty 2 saves, and beat Doom 3 on nightmare finally. I also started a save in Castlevania: Curse of Darkness which I picked up at work for a cheap 25 bucks, new. Yeah, I've been a hardcore gamer ever since we bought the new HDTV, it's freakin' awesome.

I recently saw Testament. Half the bands that played that night were incredibly terrible; possibly worse than that one band Bad Acid Trip opening for Slayer back in 05 or whenever that was. Fuck metalcore. But when Deception came on it was pure thrash. Then after a long wait and several chants of "Testament!" and "Show us your tits!" (there were some hot broads watching from the balcony), Chuck Billy came on and they opened with nothing else but... THE PREACHER!!! My favorite Testament song, of course. Following immediately afterwards came The New Order, and I was swept into the pit which I thought was pretty brutal. I was awash in people with black shirts and leather jackets. Slowing down afterwards came The Haunting, as eerie as it should be. I grabbed something to rehydrate myself during Electric Crown and Sins of Omission, and grabbed some merch during Burnt Offerings and Souls of Black, then returned into the pit for... Into the Pit. Slow down for the legacy while gulping down a bottle of water, then I was pressed against the railings during Practice What You Preach. Trial By Fire came on next, which sounded incredible, then another one of my favorites, Over the Wall, as brutal and heavy as it should be. Sometime during the show the security guys told us not to do anymore stage diving, and my friend Alex gave them a funny look and did it anyways, haha. Chuck was all like "This guy knows what he's doing!" Which was pretty bad ass. Ugh, what next... oh yeah, moment of silence, ramblings on why the band was glad to start the tour in Hollywood, some obvious references to booze and weed, then an encore following a massive Testament chant, probably the 20th that night. They came back on stage for Alone in the Dark with some freakin' awesome audience interaction, pretty intense. Then they closed shop with Disciples of the Watch, since we proved to them that we in fact are loyal disciples. Pretty bad ass if you ask me. I can die happy now that I've gone to such an awesome show. It was THAT good.

Oh yeah, we saw Adam Sandler while waiting for the show to start. Just thought I'd mention it, that was pretty bad ass. "Don't you say that. Don't you ever say that. Stay here. Stay here as long as you can. For the love of God, cherish it. You have to cherish it." (Cue sounds of the fat kid's face jiggling. If you're a fan of Sandler, you'd know what that's from).

It's like 3:58am and I need some god damn sleep, but hell, I don't work until 2:15 tomorrow, and I'll be in electronics so it's going to be a breeze. Slipknot sucks ass and you know it. Fuck nu metal, fuck metalcore.

Through my Harmon Kardon audio receiver, my seven 120 watt speakers, and my 650 watt woofer, it sounds like Mozart. Yes, I am talking about the classic turbo lax scene from Dumb & Dumber. A high quality audio system and a massive 70 inch HDTV equals one awesome cinematic experience with any movie, new and old. A few people asked me what the hell's going on in my avatar. Obviously you can tell by looking that it has something to do with Megadeth. Well, it does. It's Dave Mustaine, guitarist/vocalist for Megadeth. He once stated something like "How do you quit heroine? Eat pussy!" In my avatar he flipped over his flying v guitar and ate it out.

Ok, apparently DA fixed the problem with my IP being banned so I decided to start up an account. I'm listening to to Back in the Day off the new Megadeth album. I'm still not tired of this CD, but I'm pretty damn tired.

I kept a tea kettle burning on the stove while playing guitar for a couple hours. I noticed heavy fumes filling the air and I went to shut it off. The kettle was completely black and chunks were breaking off. Four hours on the stove did that. The fumes helped me sleep though.

School was awesome today. During the ASB crackwhore showoff garbage they call a fashion show, strong gusts of wind screwed up the whole annoyance. It's as if God truly hates our school. But why? That's an easy question to answer. Davenport wasn't voted homecoming king! Those rat bastards in ASB fixed the votes, I'm sure of it. The winner was some nobody whom I haven't seen in the past three years. Davenport was supposed to win. Everyone voted for Davenpork, mostly because he's an incredibly tall lumberjack who resemples Biff from Back to the Future. Guy's a fuckin' ogre, but he's real uncoordinated. You should see him run, his legs go in two different directions. But he's a real cool sequoia tree, though. That's why people call him Jolley Green Giant. Pork deserved that title! And that, boys and girls, is why God ruined the homecoming fashion show.

All I did today besides draw was listen to Maiden, and a hint of Megadeth. Oh, I went to school too, but I don't have real teachers so yeah. I'm tired.
