Hello everybody!

I'm alive, sorry for not posting and not replying to comments and all that, my life is a bit complicated now. I haven't forgot any of you, guys and girls!

Well, today I was having a song in my head all the time... The House of the Rising Sun (The Animals) and at last I listened to it and decided to read the lyrics too because I get lost in some of the lines. After singing it with the lyrics in front of me I suddendly noticed something. I'm going to write the lyrics and then explain that. Here it goes, wonderful song!

There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God I know I'm one

My mother was a tailor
She sewed my new bluejeans
My father was a gamblin' man
Down in New Orleans

Now the only thing a gambler needs
Is a suitcase and trunk
And the only time he's satisfied
Is when he's on a drunk

-----------

Oh mother tell your children
Not to do what I have done
Spend your lives in sin and misery
In the House of the Rising Sun

Well, I got one foot on the platform
The other foot on the train
I'm goin' back to New Orleans
To wear that ball and chain

Well, there is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God I know I'm one

Well... after reading it I saw a certain paralelism in my life. I noticed that I have never live my life because I had a terrible fear of everything, of people, of what would other people say, to be ashamed of others or of myself, I have never allowed myself to go crazy and be happy with no fear to be ridiculous or do whatever and now I'm 30 years old. I've lost my youth doing nothing to feel alive. The place where the song says "Oh mother tell your children not to do what I have done, spend your lives in sin and misery in the House of the Rising Sun" could be well symbolized in this. The House could represent my fears and the sin and misery the fact of not allowing myself to be happy. I realized this and I felt so sad, 30 years not being myself, all my youth wasted... and now I'm going to start living for myself, my way, as I want, as I always wanted. It's impressive what a song can do to help us with our lives and paths.

It's time to get out from the House of the Rising Sun and have some fun!

Thanks so much for reading this!
I love you all!

Hello everybody!

After some attempts at finding a publisher for my project I have found a solution. It's a publisher from Spain, a kind of Print On Demand. They print each time that someone orders the book. The author can get the ISBN, the bar code, the Legal Diposit books sent and a website for the book for just 195 euros (around 250 USD approx.), an awesome price and the author gets the 80% of the profits not counting the printing costs. For example... if the printing costs of a book is 5$ and you decide a final price of 15$ the profit is 10$, you get the 80% of 10$... so you get 8$ for it. Awesome, huh? The readers can get it in their website and the author has the option of having a downloadable pdf for sale too or for free. I will publish through them, I'll do a version in Spanish and another in English! Yay!

They are [link]

I'll be working exhaustively on the first book during the summer, I'm planning to finish it by August or September at the latest. I will be doing issues of 50 pages instead of 150 pages, so.... instead of a trilogy it will be a collection of 9 books unless I end up doing more books later, we'll see.

After finishing the book on August/September I will send it to the publisher and have it for sale. You'll be able to get your copy in time for christmass! I'm so excited! I have found something at last!

Also, a friend of mine will be helping me with the promotion, we'll sign a contract soon!

Thanks for reading!
See you!

Hello everybody!

I have found a self publishing house that looks good, I'm in talks with them to see if I publish with them the Faerie Dream project. They also help with the book promotions, arranging signings in bookstores, selling online, advertising in printed magazines, selling at bookstores, I think it's good. And the author decides when to receive the royalties from the book and what percentage of royalties do you want. You decide the format, the style, eveything. A full color book in their standard format (which is close to the format I was going after) would be 795 pounds, not a bad deal at all, I think. Take a look at their website if you have some time and let me know what you think:

[link]

I will reply to all the comments later, I'm a bit ill and I'm slow like a snail today hehehehe

Thanks everybody
Have a great day!

VERO

Hello!

I've always loved antique stuff and past times but since I started working on Faerie Dream my love for victorian epoque has increased so much! I love how they dressed, how they painted, how they do the furniture, their photos, the faces and hairdo's of people from those times. It's just awesome! Because I love so much the stethic side of those times I am starting a collection of early/pre 1900 paintings and miniature paintings and cute little stuff.

Yesterday I bought a really beautiful and amazingly cheap hand drawn and original portrait from mid 1800's and I'm watching some more original drawings from that time and small hand painted portrait brooches. I also own a mid 1800's inkwell with the shape of a wallnut.

If you know someone who sells victorian stuff or you have something from that time that wouldn't mind to sell let me know.

I would also want to buy a writing slope box to take it to festivals when I have to sign books and all that and a travelling inkwell for the same purpose.

I'm also thinking of drawing portraits in victorian style to sell them (when I have time to do so, right now I'm quite busy). I would draw from victorian photos and do my version with sepia ink and watercolours. Do you think it could be interesting?

Thanks for reading!
See you all!

Hello everybody!

I'm back from the Comic Festival of Angouleme and it went well. I'm going to explain what happened each one of the days I've been there:

THURSDAY:
We arrived to Angouleme at 9am in the morning after 10 long hours of travel by bus. They left us near the festival and we wouldn't go to the hotel until the night, at 9:30pm. We had breakfast in an small and confortable coffee shop and then we went to the festival. At 12 in the afternoon I had a meeting with the editor from Epsilon to talk about the coloring I did for them during the past year and also about my personal project "Faerie Dream". He told me that both himself and the artist were really glad with my work as a colorist and that it would be great if they could count on me for future projects, I accepted, of course. He also liked very much my personal project, the atmosphere, the drawings, the colors but he suggested me to do each page in several pages because the text was very small font and it was too dense reading in each page. After taking a look again I realised that it was true and told him that I would work into it and I would send the submission package again. I'm glad with his suggestion, because I think it will look even better with a bigger font. He has a great eye to have everything done with good quality. He told me to meet on Friday again to meet the artist at 12 in the afternoon again.

Me, my bf and a friend went to have a kebab , it was great and quite cheap, a kebab and a drink for just 5 euros, really tasty too. After that My bf had to go to sign copies of his books and I stayed with my friend, visiting publishers and having fun. After 2 hours of signing books we met him again and went to the International rights booth to relax and have a drink (it was great because the drinks were for free, you could have orange or pineaple juice, cofee, tea for free, which is great and the lights were quite ambiental and it was really relaxing to stay there).

At 7 pm the festival closed and we went to have supper to a Quick restaurant, it's kinda like McDonald's but the burgers are longer and the price is more or less the same. I took a fish burger (I think I'm starting to prefer fish rather than meat, first step towards vegetarianism maybe?).

At 9:30 pm the bus came to take us to the hotel and finally we entered into our bedroom and have a sleep. Other people from the bus didn't want to sleep and started doing stupid things like laughing loudly and screaming like children instead of shouting up. The hotel director told that we had to shut up a bit if we wanted to have the possibility of coming back again next year (they nearly called the police, imagine how noisy the people could be).

FRIDAY:

QUite the same plan, visiting the booths, going here and there and at 12 in the afternoon I went to met the editor from Epsilon again and the artist. They told me to come back at 3pm because the artist had to get going then. They told me that at 3pm the TV would come to film us. I was so scared, I imagined myself having a TV interview and I wanted to dissapear immediately but I said "yes, I'll be here" with a really scared look in my face hehehehe. We had lunch my bf and the friend at a big chinese restaurant. I took chinese salad, chinese roll, rice and sweet pork (I couldn't hold the sticks because my hands were trembling so badly thinking about the TV stuff at 3pm hehehe). For desert I had coconut covered balls with a kind of bubblegum texture to it but it wasn't bubblegum, it was cool).
Our friend went to the booths alone to meet a publisher and my bf stayed with me and accompanied me to the meeting with the TV and all that. There were lots of people buying the book that I had colored and the artist was signing at the moment, people was really enthusyastic when they knew that I was the colorist and they wanted me to sign too. I signed like 10 books or so in just half an hour. And the artist gave me a book signed by him with a very cute drawing (I will do a photo of it to show it to you all). AT last it wasn't a TV interview, they just wanted me to appear talking with the editor with a book in our hands, like if we were discussing something about it, so... it wasn't so terrible at the end LMAO.

My bf went to sign again and I stayed half an hour more with my editor and the artist, talking and signing. I met my friend and spent quite a long time in the International Rights booth. We picked my bf up and went to McDonalds to have supper (fish burger again for me but it was really small compared to Quick burgers hehe).

That night I had a night terror because I was a bit nervous thinking about the hotel and the people being angry with the noisy stupid people. I was afraid of having a night terror and I had it and after that I d...

Hello!

I write just to let you know a wonderful experience I have had just some minutes ago. As you know, yesterday I did the cover for my book, I felt so happy with it, it was the first step for the creation of final art for Farie Dreams, which is a great experience for me. Today in the evening I wanted to start working on one page of the book, drawing final art and all that but I was really blocked and couldn't do anything at all. I started feeling empty and sad because I really felt the inspiration in my heart but the hand didn't accompanied it. I had supper and watched some TV to forget it and enjoy a bit. I came back to the drawing table and I was feeling blocked yet, I started to feel desperation and started to feel sad. I decided to do doodles with no sense, just let the hand flow through a sheet of paper and not try to draw anything in particular, just let it flow. I didn't do anything useful for the book regarding artwork but rsomethng wonderful happened instead. While doodling I started to sing, an unknown song for me, it just came to me suddendly (it came to my mind in English, which is strange, because my language is Spanish). It's really simple but it enlightened my heart and I feel happy. Tomorrow I will start the day singing it to feel inspired and work really well. Here it goes:

I want to be the magical light of fantasy.
In this grey world,
uncolored world,
I will be free holding the light of fantasy.

This song is an awesome gift from the muses of inspiration, they have enlightened my heart and tomorrow I will be ready to work hard and enjoy the journey through the "Faerie Dream".

Thanks so much for reading
Have a great time and hope you all find the inspiration from the muses

Hello everybody

Sorry for the lack of comunications, updates, drawings, etc. I've been a bit blocked with lots of fear to fail in my intention of doing something really special with Faerie Dream fantasy miniseries.I wanted to start writing the script for the comic but it didn't came up to my mind, I had the idea but felt uncapable of doing it in comic script form. I also wanted to do a comic because it's more marketable, I was trying to develope my own story into a widely accepted pattern in the market, ensuring myself a better chance of success if I adapt to the comercial standards. Watching Miss Potter's movie I realised that I didn't have to do comics necessarily but...WTF should I do then? I didn't have a clear image in my mind of what I relly wanted, I knew the feeling of the artwork itself, the drawing style that I will be using, but not the format of the final product and how it would look. I got blocked again, but knowing at least that I didn't want a comic. Couldn't draw or do anything about the project with that huge question in my mind, what to do exactly with the miniseries? After a long time uncapable of developing it I decided to tell my mother about the situation one day I went to have lunch at my parents home. She told me to do whatever I wanted with the story, that I didn't have to think about the marketability because if I believe in what I do that would be noticeable in the final product and that would help me when selling it to a publisher. She also told me not to scape from the project with other side projects such as doing aceo's and dolls, she saw clearly that it was a way of scaping from the main project which I was afraid of. It was true, I realised that it was true while she was talking. I suddendly knew what I wanted to do with my project but what I wanted was a bit strange for the standards but she told me not to adapt to the standards and now I'm developing the project. I've written 4 pages of the book and I have the general idea of the following pages, it's going smoothly and I hope I will have some pages ready for late January. It's a mix between illustrated book with scanned natural elements (leafs for example or whatever is needed aand/or looks good)and also there will be some full or partial comic pages in between. The covers will be all handmade by me with glued stuff on them, I'll try to make them as unique as possible. I'm glad that I've found the path that I need to follow for this project

Happy xmas to all of you!
Thanks so much for reading

After your advice I have decided to do both, I will start focusing at ebay a bit more though. I've seen a great option to get some income there. At first I was planning to do illustrations in A3 format but I've found a very interesting option.... ACEO's, these are drawings made in 2.5"x3.5" format, small and collectable, trading card format, in fact ACEO means Art Card, Editions and Originals. It's great because with one A3 paper sheet I can do lots of ACEO's and the cost of supplies will be lower. Looks like people go for them more than for illustrations, some of them are sold for a bit more than 1 buck but some of them are sold for 30 bucks. I think I will give it a try. I will maybe have the first one ready for late next week. I will keep you posted

I'm considering giving the option of including a photo frame for the original too, but I have to decide yet

Thanks for reading
See you!

I have a general creative blockage, I want to do the things that I have in my mind fighting to get outside and I get nervous because I want to do them but it looks impossible these days, I'm procrastinating a lot. ANyway, let me know your thoughts, would you close the contest by the 21th (this Sunday)?

Link to the contest: [link]

Thanks everybody for reading!
Have a great time!

Hey everybody!

Today I have finished the coloring on the French book, there are no more pages to color, I just have to wait for an email from the editor to see if any changes are needed for the last 3 pages and that's all I would have to do after that. I have 5 easy pages to color for another project that will be finished during next week but I can do them quite quietly, they are easy to do and they are only 5, with less detail than the French book. Althought of this 5 remaining pages I consider myself a free woman now!

Apart from that my bf will be attending a manga con in Paris during this weekend, so... I will be alone at home, as a single woman, sleeping, sculpting, with no noisy boys around, that's peace! hehe. No, I love him but it will be cool to be alone during a couple of days, just focusing on my own stuff and being alone with myself, it's cool from time to time. I will have time to think about my coming break, what I expect from it, plan the housework to tidy up the studio during next week when my bf comes back (would be a pain in the ass to tidy up all this mess alone hehehehe) and I will also be sculpting and doodling, falling asleep on the sofa with the TV on, watching nothing, the usual that someone does when you've been a long time working with no rest, I will be the personification of procrastination and lazyness and I'll also be sculpting a bit

Well, You'll start to see updates with drawings and sculpts soon, stay tunned!

Remember my contest, help me find a name for the main character of Faerie Dreams miniseries, details here:
[link]

Thanks for reading
See you!

***UPDATE***

I have made the stamp for all the contestants, I will send it to your email accounts as soon as you provide me one.

Contest closes tomorrow Sunday 21th of September. I have lots of names to choose from already and it's better to move forward. All the people who are entering will receive a banner or a stamp or a small drawing stating that they have helped me with this

Thanks everybody!

***END UPDATE***

Hello!

CONTEST:
------------

I'm here to announce my Faerie Dreams miniseries contest. If you have read my previous journal you know that I'm planning to develope my own fantasy miniseries and sell it to the French market if possible. I have been busy with lots of coloring jobs and now is the moment to develope my own ideas and evolve as a complete artist. I'm taking a long break from jobs to relax and develope my loved miniseries.

Well, I'm doing a contest because I can't find an adecuate name for the main character. She's a young girl of... let's say... between 9 and 11 years old. She's quite unhealthy since she had serious surgery when she was born. She's mature for her age and enjoys more the company of adults than playing with children. She's a realistic and practical person, but as a child she sometimes behaves as what she is, let's say she is 80% mature, 20% child. She will be the saviour of the world althought she doesn't know it and she'll help faries to defeat the evil, although she doesn't believe in fairies and all that kind of creatures. She has some freeckles and red hair, as an unhealthy girl she is skinny and has black under the eyes (don't know what's the word for this in English) if that helps to find a name.

To know a bit about the story read the following link: [link]

The contest consists on finding a name for the girl I have described.

PRIZE:
-A drawing from the main character
-Permanent feature in my journal
-A thanks you note in the comicbook itself to the winner. Like many books have at the begining, saying: "Thanks to (name) for the support provided", something of that kind
-The winner would appear as a character in the book

All the participants would get a small banner/stamp saying that they have helped me to find the name for the main character of Faerie Dreams, that can be included in your journal or wherever you wish.

The deadline is the 30th of September. You can give as many names as you wish. If you have any name in your mind just reply to this journal with the name. All kind of names are accepted, don't mind if it has a meaning or not, just let me know your ideas

******************

KIRIBAN:
-------

I have a kiriban at 15000 pageviews, the person who gets my 15000 visit will get a free drawing from me. If several people get it I will be doing several drawings.

PRIZE: Random fantasy color drawing, to choose between a fairy, elf, unicorn, dragon or forest creature. NO OC this time, sorry.

I may or may not give prize to runner up, in case that I give a prize would be a pencil sketch of the previous things stated on the winner's prize.

Thanks everybody for reading!
Have a great time you all

Some minutes ago I felt inspired and wrote an small sentence that will be the beginning of the 1st issue of my fantasy miniseries. The miniseries will be titled: "Faerie Dreams"

The short, short, short synopsis of the miniseries would be as follows:

The bad actions and pain that humans have spread since ancient times have caused that evil forces became strong enough to control the life beings, and now the world is in danger. Only a little girl (I don't know the name yet), who’s capable of stablishing comunication with the fairies and the forest creatures while she’s dreaming, has the solution to stop the increasing power of the evil that controls the world.

Fisrt issue will be: "Faerie Dreams: The bulwark"
After lots of danger, adventures and misadventures they manage to be safe into a magical stone structure very similar similar to Stonehenge (I know, not many details, but I prefer to disclose them little by little)

The sentence for this first issue will be:
"The colors will forget their names and will vanish, the rainbow will be the dead gate between this world and heaven and the pureness of men will be, more than ever, in question".

Original sentence in Spanish:
"Los colores olvidarán su nombre y desaparacerán, el arcoiris será el inerte puente entre este mundo y el cielo y la pureza de los hombres estará, más que nunca, en entredicho".

Second issue will be: "Faerie dreams: Look at us"
They start to feel unconfortable after a long time not being able to go out of the stone structure. Suddendly the girl starts to have night terrors and acting weird at night. People start to panic (as well as her) and decided to send her out of the structure because they think that she could have the evil inside, she agrees to go out because she thinks the same and doesn't want to be a problem for all the survivors. At last something happens and they don't send her out. They go outside and fight evil.

The sentence for this second issue is:
"Glorified and honored will be the one who, finding himself weak and unsignificant discovers, from his father hand, that he's the saviour of the men and the earth. The one who marched in the last row will be the general and will march before us, there, in the first row".

Original sentence in Spanish:
"Glorificado y ensalzado será aquél que creyéndose débil e insignificante descubra, de mano de su padre, que es el salvador de los hombres y de la tierra. Aquél que marchaba en la última fila será el general y marchará ante nosotros, allá, en primera fila".

Third issue will be: "Faerie Dreams: The battle of the Dark Times"
The go outside and fight the evil with the help of the fairies and special weapons. At last the evil ends up trapped inside the wisest tree of the forest, the sacrifices himself to be able to defeat the powerful evil forever (I know that I'm not giving many information here, but I want to disclose it little by little, as I draw the characters and develope the whole thing. I have a detailed synopsis written down but I think is better to let people waiting for more hehehehe ).

The sentence for this third issue is:
"And the non believers will become the most loyal defenders of the world. More convinced than those who always believed. They will fight with great courage and althought they may fall the victory will be theirs".

Original sentence in Spanish:
"Y los incrédulos se convertirán en los más fieles defensores del mundo. Más convencidos aún que aquellos que siempre creyeron. Ellos lucharán con gran valor y aunque caigan suya será la victoria".

Hope you have enjoyed this small tiny bit of teaser hehehe

When something comes to my mind for the second and third issues I will update this journal

Remember that I have a kiriban at 15000 pageviews

Thanks for reading!
See you all!

Hello everybody!

Because of the huge amount of stress I've been under during the last couple of months I have decided that I'm going to take a rest during the last months of this year (at least). I'll be procrastinating and preparing my own comic idea in a relaxed pace (would be lovely to have a chance of seeing my miniseries published someday and it's a fullfilling thought, so, I will go for it). It's time to create a peaceful atmosphere in my life, no more crazy deadlines, no more stress. I really need it, it's a matter of health. I notice that what it was really easy to do for me now is like a huge challenge, no matter how difficult or easy is the b/w art I have to color. I'm burnt out and everything is difficult for me to do. I need a rest, a big one, and only do whatever I want to do, if I want to draw, I draw, if I want to lay in the sofa, I'll do it, if I want to go shopping or clean the house, I'll do it, whatever I want to do.

I've been working hard since I started living independently 2 years ago, working more than 8 hours a day, with no weekends and the longest holidays I can remember was of about one week only every half a year or so, the usual was one weekend each 2 or 3 months when possible. I've been always working, doing 1, 2, 6, even 12 pages per day, whetever was needed, making happy all my clients and being happy about it. I gave everything in each and every job. Now it's time to give everything to myself. As soon as I finish coloring the French comic I will have lots of spare time and you may see me more around here, posting drawings in a regular basis if I feel inspired

What a lovely break! I'm so excited. I'll be able to recover completely and relax, maybe the night terrors will end

Thanks everybody for reading
Have a great time!

Hey everybody!

Tomorrow we'll will go out until Sunday, we'll be out to see some friends in Barcelona, long time since we last met and we absolutely miss them so much. we will also go shopping and see some movies (we don't have cinema here at the village). The best thing will be to be well accompanied with our friends and not wrooy about anything at all work related, which is awesome. The last week was quite relaxed but I have had a couple of days overwhelmed again and have had to send some work to a couple of friends to handle it for me because I was so stressed and I wasn't in condition to work on crazy deadlines as I use to do, they've done a great job and everything has gone well, so... Nothing to worry about during the following 2 days! Yay! Also, yesterday night I was nervous as hell about this job, worried about the deadline, making sure they could really nandle all the workload in so few time and this morning I was surprised when the alarm clock started to ring, it was the first time I woke up yesterday night, I slept peacefully during the whole night (well, 6 hours only, but was awesome. I can't remember the last time that I slept so good as yesterday).

On Monday I'll be back on track with new pages for the French book I'm coloring, they have sent me 9 and the job will be finished soon, I think that early September or so! Yay!

Ah, BTW, thanks to I have a 1 year suscription and I'll do a drawing of a fairy the best that my skills allow me to give her thanks. I don't know when I will be able to do so though but I will do it definitely.

I'll try to post new stuff or colored pics next week if the schedule and my vitality allows, I love the path that I'm following artistically talking and I need to walk a bit more to see where it goes exactly and what kind of surpirses are waiting at the end of the way

Thanks so much for your support.
I'm tired, really sick of the fucking summer season, the weather is too hot and while I'm in a great creative moment and improving my artwork style little by little I also have changes of humour, I'm driving mad myself and my bf. Plus, I have night terrors since I was a small child, I wake up at night between loud screams and even sometimes I get up and wake up in the middle of the studio, wondering what's going on and frightened as soon as my bf turns on the light to wake me up and rescue me from that panic situation. This happens to me randomly, sometimes once a week, sometimes once a month, usually is associated to stress but sometimes I'm peaceful and quiet and it happens. During the last days it has happened 4 times , the night from Sunday to Monday didn't happen and I thought it was over, this night happened again. I'm sick of this, I think it's the weather, it's hard to sleep with this heat. And when I see how patient my bf can be with me I feel so guilty and shitty, althought this is something genetic I think, my father does the same, not exactly but he speaks a lot, screams (not loudly) and moves a bit (but never gets up) and my sister speaks (and very clearly hehe). My mom is the only one who doesn't do any of these things.

I want the summer to go away NOW! hehehehe

BTW, I'm still trying to find someone interested in getting a drawing from me in exchange of a suscription, more details here:
[link]

Thanks everybody for reading, you are so kind and supportive with me
Have a great time and wish me luck with this night LOL

Hey everybody!

I'm having a couple of weeks absolutely overwhelmed, coloring panels for children textbooks while coloring 4 pages per week of the French book I'm coloring. I've ended working fulltime on the panels and coloring the French pages after supper, being totally tired, ending everyday at 1am after midnight at the earliest. It's hard to keep this rythm during 3 weeks, struggling to have everything done on time. I'm proud of myself that I'm managing to do it quite well. I have had to ask for a bit more of time to a friend who has asked me to color a pinup (thanks God that he's very patient and comprehensive). I will end the panels job TOMORROW! yay! I just have to color 7 panels instead of 10 because I have been working during the weekend to have them done earlier. After this I will just have to do the French pages and the pinup and some comic pages more for another client. I will have time to draw more! I'm so excited!

On wednesday I will be sleeping until the blankets hurt! and then in the evening, after having lunch I will color the pinup for my friend and send it to him and draw a little bit. After Tuesday everything will be smoother. That'll be awesome. I'm too stressed now and the hot weather doesn't help at all hehehehe. Thanks God that my bf is helping me a lot, he's cooking everyday to allow me more time to work and have everything done and he's learning fast, he's becoming a master chef! lmao

That's all for now!
Bye! I have to go to bed soon, tomorrow will be a long day!
Thanks everybody

Hello everybody.

I feel so bad lately. I feel so bad about my art, I try to do good things, I try to draw from my heart but looks like what I do is not interesting at all, I have no comments, nothing at all. Yeah, I don't update very often but when I do is like if I didn't do any update at all, no repercusion. It's time to renew or die, better my skills or quit forever and just be a simple colorist, embellishing the drawings that other people have done. I want to renew myself but I need to see results to feel encouraged to do it. IT's hard to go on when you do something with all your love and you are unnoticed, like a housewife, always working and people thinking that they don't do anything at all, when they are cleaning the house and caring all family members 24 hours a day instead of having just a 8 hours per day job. I feel the same, unnoticed. I don't know if I must continue or just quit. If I quit nobody would notice it anyway, it wouldn't be a big loss...

That's all for now
Thanks for reading, that way I feel accompanied

Hello

During the last months of 2007 I felt really tired and creatively limited, thanks God that my clients have been patient and comprehensive, I have so much to thanks them all! And at the end of the year I've been ill with the flu during a long time and lost a lot of time doing nothing because of that, I felt awful and guilty because I was afraid that peope could think that it looked like I was making excuses to get rid of my tasks.

Now that 2007 has ended and 2008 has started I feel renewed, full of energy and willing to catch up with everything as well as starting other new adventures apart from that. I will be doing what I'm doing right now and trying not to overwhelm me with too much things to do. Last year I was crazy taking as many jobs as I could handle, sometimes more, because of the home economy, I mean... to try to survive but now I have some awesome clients that deserve my best and that's what I'll give them (I guess they know who they are). I'll stay with them and won't get anything else to do unless it is a great oportunity or a friend asking for help

I will take 2 days for me for my personal projects too. I want to learn how to sew plush toys, I will take one day for this each week and one day to start again doing gouache illustrations... long time since I did the last one and I achieved decent results, so... I must keep doing it again. I must tell you a secret... I've never held a needle in my life, only to sell a button or things like this, let's see what happens with the plush toys... I have found a couple of tutorials to get started and I've bought some supplies, as soon as I receive the fabric I will start and I will create a new dA account to upload the plushies as I do them. Hope to do it well. LOL

I think that right now I'm on the right track towards fullfillment!

Hi everybody!

Sorry for the long time with no updates. I'm busy, very busy during these days, preparing xmas, teaching computer coloring and with jobs. Apart from that I was ill with flu last week, it was not funny at all. I lost lot of momentum and now I'm trying to catch up.

Let's see... I want to you you all the result of a coloring challenge I did some time ago, it was 22 pages in 2 days, you can see the results here:

[link]

Hope you enjoy it! It was quite a challenge because I had to move forward as fast as possible and as automatically as possible, nearly no thinking, just keep on doing with all the basic principles in mind from the begining. It is funny and different but you have to be 100% concentrated and mentalized to do this. I recommend to try this at least once in your life, it is wonderful to learn

Thanks everybody!

Hello everybody.

Yesterday a friend of mine sent me a video where the human cruelty was shown in it's hugest dimension. It was a video about how to get the fur from animals, yeah that fur that then some people wear in coats...I saw it and my life has changed since then. I can't stop crying when I remember it. They take the fur off of the animal when he's alive and then throw away the animal's body without fur, still alive and let him die that way...all his dignity lost, without doing nothing to deserve such destiny. If you want to see what I'm talking about just take a look at this link, I recommend to mentalize yourself before clicking. I'm deeply depressed since I saw this yesterday

This is the link, it is too cruel and not recommened for children to see:
[link]layer=wm&speed=med

After seeing this...hope you are ok, not depressed as I am.

I think that us, as artists and creative people...have a way to help here. I am thinking on developing a comicbook involving this, a graphic novel or a series, whatever. I think that would be great to stop this cruelty. What is needed is a team of writer, penciler, inker and letterer (I would love to do the color). We could talk with any animal association, like Peta, Greenpeace, Adena, whatever of them... and all the earnings would go to the asociation to fight against this.

I have nothing tied up yet, a team is needed to achieve this. Would be something truly big that could change the world just a little bit, at least those that would read the comic could realise what's really going on with these small innocent creatures.

There are many other injustices that could be depicted in comics, such as bullfighting, whales hunting, fighting dogs and chickens and the list goes longer and longer.

There is no rush (well, there is...) the thing is to do something great and talk with any asociation to do this. Is better not to rush and be sure that the whole thing is done well tight up. Something so important must be doone carefully.

Would anyone like to help on this?

What is needed would be:
-A writer
-A penciler
-An inker
-A letterer
-Someone with comercial skills and kind heart to talk about his with animal associations

I would be the colorist and I think that is important to be sensitive with this subject to do this, for the love of animals, not for money, because the great hing of this would be to do it to help them, not to help us to pay the bills. It's better to do a whole comic in one year and have other artistic jobs to pay the bills rather than doing this for money, the result wouldn't be the same.

Would anyone be interested in getting involved in something like this?

Thanks everybody in advance

Hello

I have seen some great doll makers and sculptors here at dA and since a long time ago I always wanted to know how to sculpt wonderful things, or how to do beautiful dolls, but never tried, sometimes because I didn't have the time, sometimes because I'm afraid of not doing it well (when I do something not well done I feel fustrated, since I was a small child I've always been very perfectionist, my life is kinda a quest to perfection, trying to do things well done). The thing is that I would like to have time to start practicing doing some interesting things with sculptures but I don't know how to organize my schedule.

There would be 2 options:

OPTION 1: 3-4 days a week work on the jobs I have to do, drawing, coloring, whatever and the remaining days take a rest and practice sculpting and creating dolls.

OPTION 2: Doing job in the mornings and sculpting during the evening, or viceversa.

What's better?

Mmmm, another thing... If any doll maker/sculptor would like to help me with this I would be glad. For example, giving me an exercise each week to improve and have critics and direction from what I do and all that.

Is a good idea or is better to do just one thing? I think that a complete artist is the one that can draw, color/paint and sculpt and I would like to be a complete artist someday.

Any tips and suggestions?

Hello everybody!

I'm sorry as well as I'm glad to say that I won't do webcomics at last. I've changed my plans and I'm trying to submit the ideas to publishers and get them printed. By the moment I'm in talks, let's see what happens

A great web designer is helping me doing the design of the website and as soon as everything is ready I will have my own website to show what I do and what are the comics about, with all the promo packages and everything.

Sorry for the change of plans, but I think is better to get published on paper rather than webcomics. If the ideas are not picked up I will do webcomics, of course, but by the moment I prefer trying with the possibility of printing them.

I'll keep you updated, of course!

Thanks for all the support you are giving me
