First off, how are you?

I've continued being a busy little beaver and my work will be in this month's Judge Dredd Megazine as well as continuing on Transformers Regeneration One from IDW. In a couple of months my first pro writing gig will land too in the form of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from Panini. More details when I get them!

The 5th of May is Free Comic Book Day at your local comic store and amongst a lot of free titles available to you Transformers Regeneration 1 #80.5 is finally out! The book restarts where the US comic ended 21 years ago with the original writer, penciller and inker on board. I have had the extraordinary pleasure (and pressure) of providing the colours for the interiors of the book (with Jason Cardy on covers). The original book was my defining book growing up, my definitive Transformers so it has been an incredible ride so far and it just gets better and better!

1. Remain professional. This means not bombarding people with e-mails, phonecalls, tweets, especially editors. Editors are insanely busy trying to get hundreds of pages of art and story, promotional materials, interviews and so forth done each month so searching for new talent, looking at porfolios etc is something that they do when they can. I finish the year with an apology. I haven't been around as much as I would have liked but it has, I hope, been worth it. This past year has had me at more cons, and with more work on the shelves than any other year. A lot of this has come from years of working my butt off, and a whole heap has come from enthusiastic support from the folks on DA and beyond. James Cameron. On one hand: Terminator, Aliens, The Abyss, T2. On the other: Titanic, Dark Angel and True Lies. The Con has been and gone and I had an absolute blast of a time. I met so many amazing people there, from folks who came to the stall to chat and buy prints to the fantastic folk of Apocalypse Comics http://www.apocalypsecomics.com/web_comics.php (GO THERE, BUY THINGS) who wewre selling their exclusive covers of All Hail Megatron #1 and #12 and of course hang out with Shane McCarthy and, the getting more British every day, Mr Casey Coller :iconcaliber316:

Good times and rollickingly massive amount of hard work but it was a blast! Hopefully if the stars align I'll be back for more of the same next year.

1. Pretty much ALL comic work consists of work from different artists in the form of penciller, inker and colourist. By this reasoning nothing I or anyone does for comics can ever be used. This is plainly interpreting to the Nth degree, what about people who make desktops out of copyrighted images and just splash a few effects on top?

It isn't one of the one's that I wrote but it is one that I coloured and I got to colour Robby Musso's art! It was actually the first TF colouring I ever did really, and I think I've come on leaps and bounds since then (I hope anyway).
