As of March 6th I'm a part of the Apple working family. My first steps in the Apple world date back about a year when I first got involved with a 5th generation iPod, now replaced by an iPod Classic.

But for some time now I knew my creativity was in need for a great tool, so I spent some time looking at the market and there it was - the Macbook pro - but all sites were indicating "don't buy - update imminent" I believed and hoped as much for a Macworld update and was disappointed.
Since then every tuesday was flooded with anticipation, hope and disappointment until feb 26th.

I follow the evolution of the SIGMA SD line for around 4 years now. I began with the SD9 back in 2003. It was my first DSLR. Then in 2005 I had the opportunity to get a SD10 at an extraordinary low price and so I went for it. I sold my SD9 back in october last year in the hope for the sson release of the SD14 after my visit to the photokina.
It took SIGMA much longer than I had hoped but now I hold her in hands - she is pretty and there are many improvements I have already discovered and hopefully more I will discover - so stay tuned for more images to come.

What a trip!!!
Yesterday I visited the cologne based photokina for the first time and I was amazed by all this wonderful toys a man can probably dream of.

I first went to the SIGMA booth that happened to be just behind the entrance I chose. I was amazed by the feel and the sound of the shutter of the new SD14. I really fell in love with it and can't wait for it's market release.

THE DP1 I discovered is also a very interesting project of SIGMA that will hit the markets in 2007 and perhaps become the digital lifestyle pendant of the Lomo cams.

There was so much to see and to learn from, photographers in studio shootings, Adobe crew showing you what you didn't know about Photoshop, ...

After 8 hours of walking and I felt really tired but I knew this was not my last visit to photokina

Wow, just some hours before the photokina in cologne opened its doors just two days ago I was the one who announced a new camera nobody in the public knew about.

The SIGMA DP1, the first compact point and shoot from SIGMA including the 14MP X3F Foveon sensor.

I came across the information while searching the german website of SIGMA for news on the SD14. Seems the programming of the CMS they use is a bit sloppy, but this gave my humble little self the opportunity to step out in public to tell the world about it.

Think I created the fastest growing poll ever on the DPREVIEW SIGMA Forum - in just some hours the maximum number of posts was reached.

I definitively will get a DP1 but first comes first - I'm waiting for the retailers to get the SD14!!

At work I just topped the magical SIGMA number - I took my 14.141th digital SIGMA picture! This clearly indicates it is time for the SD14!

Will make a short daytrip to the photokina next saturday and hope to see the new object of my desire and perhaps even touch it

Well, it's a week now that SIGMA announced the successor of my beloved SD9 DSLR. I still don't know what innovations will show up, nothing has been said and no photo has been shown by SIGMA - Mystery surrounds the SD14 as it will be called.
I'm waiting for the big day to come to see new features as improved low light function, better writing speed, improved autofocus.

I know there's a new cam on the edge that will give me new opportunities.

I want that cam!
