Not bad at all. I actually was amazed by the geekiness I think I am going to try on some of the dorky, emotion-deviod lines in the office and see it if clicks.

Excited about Inglourious Basterds Finally, a WW2-movie with no-nonsense violence and gore. (sort of like, a 300-meets-WW2, or a WW2 gun-fu movie LOL)

Could have been a non-American unit though. (the title spelling suggests English-english?) Oh well... They're the one making the movies anyway.

The other night I had the chance to play and finish Call of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare (on the PS3 port, thanks to ) and uh... what happened to Sgt. Jackson and the rest of the devil dogs...is driving me paranoid.

I know it's just a game... but the threat...is...very...real. (*don't blame me, I was born about the same time when Chernobyl blew up ) What if some idiot out there is actually thinking the same thing?

Sweet vengeance in the end, yes. I wish the Special Air Service did have more European arms in the game though, like AUGs, SA-80s, FA-MAS, those kinds of things... (or I just wasn't searching the dead tangos) No big deal anyway, I just think the SAS should feel more European.

Today a client invited us to lunch at Sasahama.

Outside, it looks like a generic family house but when we stepped in, the place was really spacious. (but it still looks like a family home) The place is really famous among expatriates.

For me though, it was another fun but weird experience. The servants wore them kimonos (I dunno if they're the real deal, but they're a lot better than the clip-on varieties I see in other restaurants) and spoke Nipponese too. The place probably is a private home refurbished to accommodate a restaurant, the dining tables were all over the place, a sushi bar near the door, a booze bar in the middle section (with a TV set constantly tuned in to NHK world), ukiyo-es on the walls, even on the lavatories and a small library with Japanese reading articles. (sadly, no manga or anything of that sort )

When the waitress gave me the menu (with English subtitles), the client was explaining to me what kind of food the item represented. (actually, I knew but I wanted to hear a commentary) Gyudon first comes to mind but when I looked at the price it was a bit too steep The host really recommended it though, but I don't want to burn a hole in his wallet so I settled for the cheap, good old Katsudon instead. Again, a load "whoa" was heard from my expat company. (and they kept making "strong man" gestures afterwards... does that mean it takes a real man to eat the thing? ) I've no idea, I frequently order katsudon, but now I am thinking that there maybe some weird connotations to it. O_o

Took a while to arrive really, I was told by the host that it takes time to prepare. When it finally arrived though, I was surprised - the thing was in a ridiculously large bowl. I am used to them small kiddie-sized bowls they serve in restaurants so the thing was more than I could eat.

I was really excited though, so I had to say "itadakimasu!" out loud. (and another "whoa" again, with my master telling our clients about my weird exploits a few months ago) The food was great. Lots of eggs, onions, the rice was good too. After that, of course like school, they always hit on n00bs. So they had us say something in front of everyone one n00b at a time. When it was my turn, I don't know what came in to me but I suddenly clenched my fists, raised them high up and screamed "Ganbarimasu!"

Then there was a loud "WHOA" Suddenly I felt I shouldn't have done that

When I lined up for the food, the Japanese staff came to me and asked if I spoke Japanese, then I explained that I just learned them from anime, manga and 'net life. The ensuing conversation was real fun though, they're about twice my age, so the only common ground we had was DORAEMON They keep on mentioning very unfamiliar titles, classics I suppose (*when they brought up Leiji Matsumoto's Uchuu Senkan Yamato I was about to blurt out Galaxy Express 999 as a counter, good thing they mentioned that title first else I would have embarassed myself by sayin the "999" wrong - turns out you say it "triple nine" ) For once though, I did get to use practically the things I used to say to net people and myself. (and subtitiles started to appear in my peripheral vision)

I now know first hand that the word "otaku", which a lot of people take for granted, is really derogatory. (their faces suddenly turned sour when I brought up the name of the event coming this weekend) Then I was told that Akiba is the place for the likes of me. (I don't know if I'll be happy with that comment ) They did tell me not to become too engrossed though. (*I guess it's that bad... But one of them knows Densha Otoko too good lawrd - and he aptly labels it an "otaku success story" )

Now after the long talk I returned to my seat to eat my dinner my colleagues bugged me with questions on what was the talk about. =_= I suddenly became the center of attention that I had to escape the situation. In my haste, I forgot to lock my drawers. Good thing I didn't see a memo on my desk the following day.

Oh well... I'll just scrap that plan of decorating my desk with figures of girls in birthday suits

PS: Yesterday I was given a DORAEMON toy by the people who publish the Filipino version of the title. I was trying to figure out how to operate the toy when the Japanese manager suddenly showed up in front of me and saw me playing with the thing. Now he must really think I am weird.

<sub>It has already been a year since I went off to fight in this senso... Time really flies.

I remember back then how I detest the sleepovers we had to do to finish our projects (as I was always the first one asleep, because I can't handle all-nighters too much) and the professors who seem to take delight in seeing us suffer.

A year on and it's ironic that I actually miss these things... Killer subjects (I flunked my final math LOL), late night schedules (and pig out at the school's McDonald's afterwards), sleepovers (where I saw a toilet seat made of golf tees laminated in the plastic material and a bathroom filled with posters of cute puppies and inspirational quotations ), org meetings (during one of which a mate celebrated her birthday and we got treated to an all-you-can-eat-cook-it-yourself type of establishment), PE class (where someone kissed my arse, literally), ROTC (and my numbnut platoon-mates), WarPath (the hours I'll spend playing Call of Duty), finding an empty classroom to sleep in, Don Q (and their greasy TapSiLog), MoMo's (where we'd stuff our bellies with white rice), Kuya/Ate (that person who peddles fishballs and quail eggs at P.Noval), all of it...

Things are pretty much back to normal, as it was months ago. I wake up early in the morning, pack my lunch, head off into the morning rush, leave by evening, fight my way into the bus, get a whiff of the metropolitan pollution and urban stress, yep.

Now I am a dog of a foreign company that makes us work like horses.(with a disturbingly high employee turnover rate - there was a girl who started the same date as me, I found out later than she only lasted two days. Apparently such cases are common with the company, as testified by the regulars) Not only that - now I can only get about half of what my former master gives me. (and no more all-you-can-drink-coffee-of-your-choice + yummy morning-afternoon cookies + the occasional free pizza + Krispy Kreme doughnuts + Brothers Burger power lunches) It's weird, that the amount I used to give to Mama every two weeks for general housekeeping/maintenance is now the very amount that I get. Certainly no better and definitely nowhere near. I reckon this must be tenchu.

When I think back, it was really a good time. Everything was great, I could buy myself and the people I love gifts and stuff, we could eat out at nice places that I originally thought was beyond my level, I'd give my siblings their allowance, we'd hang out at the bookstore after work to talk about books we like, things were really going fine. It was really grand. I know I have been talking about this in my previous entries, but my mind just can't abandon the thought that there must be something I did to deserve this. Why had I thrown away a good life?

I have thought about it, and I have decided to take it head on, as there is no place to run to anyway. It's the sanest thing to do as it oughta fill the hole in my record, provided that I withstand the battering. I owe them big time, they actually picked me up from the trash heap and utilized me. As for progress and growth, I have been warned from the very beginning. There is much to learn, the work is relevant and pressing but for growth, there is minimal if not none. This is the poison I have to drink. "In life, it is very rare when you get to practice what they teach you in school", said one interviewer. I hope that's the case.

It is insane... There are no end states here... You just keep on going, fly until you die. Cooking up a final goal makes everyday hurt less. I just think that I am paying the price little-by-little to achieve it, the pain disappears a little.

I had to write it down so I can look back at it from time to time. I had to vent it out. Thanks for reading.</sub>

Random Thoughts:

--> Two months on, and still no clear future... I am now beginning to think that maybe there's this something I did in the past and I am now being punished for it. I know I tried every possible way to turn the tide and I keep convincing myself, but I can't seem to get my mind off the case for some reason... I know it's pointless, crying over spilled milk.... I don't know...

--> Marched off to Yuchengco Museum today, but I didn't go inside after being disappointed by the size of the place. (I was attracted because there was an M113 displayed outside) I didn't have money for the ticket anyway.

--> Last week I liberated two volumes of Keroro Gunso from a super discount book store for a dirt cheap price. (75% off good lawrd). Browsing at BookSale is always fun, once in a while you get great, rare finds.

--> I went today to see that Kalashnikov rifle I wanted and after a thorough inspection, I decided that I did not want it after all... Would have been fun having one though, if by chance there's a viral outbreak that turns everyone in your town into zombies and monsters you can play your own Resident Evil.

--> Found out that Bibliarch (but the price tags were from Fully Booked) carries a book that I have long been searching for. From an nearby used-books store, discounted book on Volkssturm was found. I hope the titles are still there when the time comes.

--> One of my devs was mysteriously moved to scraps. Gallery director restored order, but also had no idea about the relocation... Must be one of those bugs or glitches or something.

--> Plans of having my glasses repaired (damaged during a traffic accident) may not go through after all. I wish I lived long enough to avail of the optical benefits.

--> Playing the classic Playstation games again, thanks to the ePSX emulator + my uncle's laptop PC. (memorize ko pa rin yun Resident Evils LOL )

--> Behemoth big brother ate up all the chocolate-peanut-butter-ice-cream-cake thing early today while we were sleeping.

--> "Japan, Japan, Sagot sa kahirapan" (Japan, Japan, the answer to poverty. LOL)

--> 22 years on, people here in this country still don't get sick of them revolutions.... It's stupid already. Having those idiotic sequels just mean that people never learn. Crap. Don't discuss politics.

Apparently, the establishment has a Multiply site. Further research reveal that the place is also a maid cafe. O_O

The prices...can be a bit too steep though...

On the brighter side, we did go to that traveling amusement park near Mall Of Asia last week, and it was pretty fun. There were only a few rides, but they were nice. (there was a neat one there where they'll have you turn upside down and leave you in that state for a few seconds ) The horror houses were extra scary too

Then I wasted a good portion of my "survival money" on a lovely Saber PVC figure

New Years was same as usual. I did get to do some bike-ing though, which I have not done for a long, long time

Spent the first minutes of the year sniffing suspended residue from fireworks _{see, Filipinos love blowing things up during the celebration, including limbs}

Now that the holidays are over...well... I am now:

Can't sleep because of it. They're hogging the electric fans (*we have an old air-conditioner here in the office, but it's frick'n expensive to operate )

On crap, lately I've been having some sort of artist block. (*or if there's no such term for pixelers - "fed up with pixeling") Guess it will be a while again...

With all the new and modern image creating software, it makes me think if all the hours spent on "lovingly placing each pixel" is all worth it. *sigh* It's like, the assembly of image programs... And that this crap ain't gonna take me anywhere...

Instead, I spend my day doing household chores and doing series marathons. (*DVD from the Pirates of Carriedo) )

On other stuff, now that I'm out of school, I need a job. (*hello Captain Obvious ) Well not being the "sharpest tack in the box" means that hell or high water will definitely come... And take toll

Have not heard from them companies that I took exams on. I knew it. Guess those were just beyond my reach...for now...I hope.

I'm not pressured or anything, it's just the thought of helping out with the family expenses as soon as possible, and to be able to give them a taste of the better life...

Perplexed at the moment. Have been collecting thoughts for almost a month now... I hope it will all clear up soon.

Thinking back, I remember mentioning about the passing year (fire dog) being lucky for us born as tigers (*no, not the PzKpfW VIE) ... It proved otherwise on my case with a lot of screwups this year...

With a lot of foodstuffs continously coming in and my mantra of "isang butil sa isang taon/tignan mo yung mga walang kinakain sa kalsada"(*think of the people who cannot afford to eat), I am forced to consume food in order to avoid waste... I need a treadmill...

Instead of doing some research and producing output for our thesis work, I am here posting.

Well everything came in so fast. Crap We'll be back to do some school work tomorrow... Oh well... The past five days have been real great. ^___^

Back Wednesday, I failed to submit my T-shirt design for class... When I came to attend the Paskuhan however, I was told that the professor got mad at us and dismissed the class. I don't know if it's a good thing or not, but oh well~

Odd though, I was to find out a few days later that the same shirt ~shonenred got for his dad was the present I was going to get from my big sister. (*lol so much for surpise~ oh well~ ) When all that was over, with ~cmico2 grabbing some booze for another party, and the uber cheap Onimusha figures from Makati Supermart, I crashed over to ~shonenred's place to play some Forgotten Hope Weeee~~

Afterwards I got this figure set from his backlog to work on. Thanks loads man.

With lots of foodstuffs coming in, I'm already stuffed to the gills. Just can't help myself over the buttery taste of Danish cookies... I'll have to burn these soon.

Caught a cold. It's been on for three days now... Been snivelling and sneezing a lot...At work, during meals, even during sleep. Must be because of that "arctic air conditioner" at the workplace plus the scorching heat outside....My head is killing me... Oh well.... (*bka kailangan kong mag ENERVON )

Met my blockmates yesterday morning. Looks like they got themselves nice jobs... Allowance (*Php 220.00/day highest), free meals, not to mention working in really cool business districts like Ayala and Ortigas (*and with a foreigner supervisor to boot! ) Oh well...It's destiny... =_=

We didn't push through with attending Fr. Lana's final report last night.... Our supervisor suddenly had some matters to attend to... I sure wanted to go to the formal dinner though...

We don't have to work on May 1~~ (*it's actually my first time to benefit from this holiday ) Next week, we'll be taking a break from working on the CCM site to take pictures of people and feature them in the school's web site. (*mga tga USTe jan punta kau next week para mapikchuran kau~~ )

I am halfway through with my job, but so is summer. The atmosphere's been humid lately and strange winged ant-like insects have appeared too.... It's going to be rainy season soon... Crap.... I want a sunny summer vacation getaway!! Come back summer!!!!!

I get goosebumps when singing the national anthem or hearing/reading about history.

I assosciate events with music. It's like assigning a theme song to an event or soomething... So everytime that song pops up, memories from events pop up with it too. Sometimes they just pop out of nowhere.. Like this afternoon - it's been a year since we tried out that expensive calcium-rich vanilla ice cream from the drug store.

I memorize/study video game character dialogues, character bios, weapon specifications, history, etc... For some reason, the memory fails to take in anything related to academics like mathematical formulas.

I can crap casually at appropriate public facilities. Other people find it weird. <_< You see my system is a bit messed up and I can't seem to predict my bowels much... >.< (*ergo a roll of toilet paper in my bag/pocket)

Waaaaaaaahh he's really a good person!!!! He even arranged a week of training so I can get a hang of the new language!! (*which will be covered by the 300 hour OJT span)

I'm starting April 3 : 0800 - 1700 ... I need to read these notes.

After the interview I went over to 's place to borrow a few stuff and get back the Hagaren Movie. We laughed our butts off streaming ol' classic Jap live action flicks. (*Machine-Man and Jiban ring any bells? ) Not to mention that strangely subbed episode of the Japanese Spider-Man. (*yes, it was licensed by Marvel. WTF there is a giant robot! )

Also got to watch a new production from the makers of "The Employee". (*@ : "I have no heart...") Can't wait to hear JM's character dialogues.

Butchered by the exams as usual... Well I could have made better answers but I chose death than shame by not copying from my classmates. (*well when the time was almost up the started copying answers amidst the chaos caused by the bell)

Afterwards I went with my our org's VP to the Commnity Development office to submit the group activities... I hope the org lives on for next year..

We were supposed to go to the Level-Up office at Makati, but it was already late afternoon so we went to attend the job fair at SM Megamall instead. Crap our noses bled as we forcibly squeezed out all out english-speaking powers talking to the company representatives.. Too bad I didn't have any CVs. I guess I'll be going back tomorrow.

There was a particular booth by a company who manufactures and bottles liquor... We were getting thirsty so we asked the attendant if we could borrow a plastic cup so we can drink from the fountain. Instead, he gave us a shot of vodka~ Well at least it had the cup with it so me and a friend gulped it down immediately... Strangely, it didn't feel so bad...Not at all... It's great~~!! ^__^ Hmmm maybe the attendant is really skilled in preparing liquor... I can only taste a hint of lime..

Today was a free day, and I finally had the chance to resume modeling work. Started with the washes and the figure mounts.. Did some paint stripping too... I'll have to complete these pendings and work on the tokens soon.

Summer is already here... I wish I can slack off again but I need a job. Dang... Have to make a frick'n CV...

The day before became an impromptu all-nighter over at the Uylangco Villa in Q.C. (*thanks to Regina and the Uylangco family btw for their hospitality ) We spent the night and the day after rushing the remaining parts of our case study.

I've been to many anime/toy/model conventions in the past, but this time the experience was a lot different. Instead of being a spectator, I was part of the event staff. So today, we skipped classes and I was assigned as one of the marshals. (*yes the dogface, the jarheads, the footsloggers, the drones who do all the nasty work ) When I arrived around 8am I immediately joined other org mates already making progress on the designs and the booths. (*with wasn't actually a booth, it was more of a round table with a dug out seating. )

A few minutes later, our event advisers from Kyoudo arrived. We all rounded up for a briefing. Real funny people, they were the ones who handled the Hanep Hataw Hero launching last November. (*crap.. I can't remember their names. ) A contingent from the UP AME came to our aid too. A short prayer, and we were told what we're supposed to do.

After that I was assigned to go to Recto and get some goldfish for the Fish Catching Booth. With Php100.00 I took off with two volunteers (*yeah right~ ) by foot. (*Pio and uh. I forgot the other one. ) Crap... We walked a lot.... @_@ Some 4-5kms maybe in search of a pet shop... Some 30 minutes later we finally found that market past Isetann Recto. We got there and jumped from one shop to another to find out the prices. We settled on one and closed a deal of 15 fish for Php300.00. Fish was individually priced at Php35.00 but my companions were able to get it down to Php20.00 Got some fish feed too. Dang in there I felt really sorry about the animals in cages... Damn... I mean, what if you were to be locked up in a cage an sold? Really wrong with humans...

When we returned about an hour later we set up the stuff because they already began letting people in. Improved the booths a bit, and we set up the fish bucket. (*lol walking around the Main with a bucketful of water made me look like an idiot. ) Then we thought of a place to isolate caught fish so we got Rachel to get us another free bucket. She gave it to me afterwards and I did the same idiotic trip to the Main again. (*with the guard asking about the pail of water everytime. ) Soon, everything was set up and we had a lot of players... We realized that the game was too easy to win. Well I guess we had to give away all of the fish... We wouldn't know what to do if there was anything left..

Personally, I didn't enjoy watching that fish booth.. (*well only the cute girls signing up once in a while ). The rule is if they catch a fish, it's theirs. Goldfish have life. It just disturbs me...Directly or not, the game is playing with fish life. Being caught does not guarantee a good home.... (*later that evening we found a lot of them abandoned. ) If we get another year I'll try to make sure we don't play with life again... I guess the planed "week long exhibit" was too much a task for us... And the supposedly Akira Kurosawa exhibit, which was supposed to be today, didn't go too. Maybe just too big for a budding org like ours...

So I guess it's only tomorrow...Oh well.. At least... But having seen the progress so far, I think the event would not be promising as I originally thought... Blame time, sched conflicts (*which results to less volunteers), issues with our leaders and the err... the very traditional and hard to deal with school admin. Guess we'll have to do with what we have tomorrow... We really lack manpower and supplies... I hear they're getting foreign conscripts too.... (*like the guys from the rowing team... We sure could use them muscle-bound boys for crowd control ...Use of deadly force is authorized! I just hope they have a crowd to control...)

We began by barricading Colayco Park with straw ropes, tarpaulins, garbage cans and everthing legal we can think of.. Captain Colayco... Yes... Funny how long ago, the bronze statue with a holstered M1911 in that park respresents a gallant man who was the first to die in the Battle for Manila against the Japanese.... A great man who gave his life to free our country from a race hell bent on becoming the masters of Asia...With thier lives but a small price to pay for that cause... And now, some 61 years later, we stage an event, in the presence of that selfless man, glorifying the Japanese to some extent... But it is no Imperial Japan anymore... Long gone are the armies of Ymashita and the navies of Yamamoto. The invasion is still looming, but it is that of which it intends to achieve peace, harmony and friendship through shared popular culture. (*U.S. Manga Corps )

Some errands, tired legs, buckets of sweat, a free curse from a street bum and free Coke. Still have a lot to set up tomorrow...

A lot to fear actually.... Thanks to some of them professors who should be getting an FA from us students...

We're partly to blame too... On some subjects maybe...

The scanner thing is so-not done... There were only two of us yesterday, and that didn't help much... And Military Clashes of WWII: PzKpfW VI 'Tiger' vs. M4 'Sherman' was on Discovery Channel so it kept me glued onto the couch for an hour... So..it's only a week before it's due... Kill me...

Just finished that book of figures of speech our Humanities professor required us to make.. Took so much time, and I'm all sleepy now... Eyes barely open..So can't study OOP...

I'm kinda worried about "mincemeat".... Not yet due, but I'm still worried...Bloody thing....

And uh... I had an opportunity to see a footage of people falling to their death by getting out of a burning building somewhere in Russia. Hmm...Art stuff... Uh... Finally completed the M3 Stuart base model. (*finished it before 2005 ended actually..) But there are still primed stowage parts glued to chopsticks lying around.. Now I kinda regret it that I decided to put up some accessories....

As expected, we're cramming up quizzes becuse of the preliminaries two weeks from now. (*supposed to have taken them before the Chirstmas breaks but we were too busy celebrating. )

Not to mention all the projects due.... Which will bring us to my blockmate's home somewhere in QC tomorrow for another all-nighter. Another task for Christmas, but the chocolate bars were distracting me.

(*today is also the birthday of our good comrade, Jesse who is somewhere in Europe right now and prolly doing the thing he dreams of --> ) Well, we planned it as a party but with only the three of us and a bunch of unforseen circumstances, it didn't go exactly like that.

Two years ago, I spent the night over at 's place and played Resident Evil : Outbreak until morning, with frequent raids on the pizza boxes. (*and gulping on cold sake ) Back then we had more people so it was kinda more jollier. (*and those edited photo sessions ) Boy that seemed only like yesterday...

Day started at 0900 and fixed myself breakfast. Before I went to 's I did a quick trip to the hobby shop to obtain this kit to partially comply with the law of equivalent trade for this kit I got last Monday.

When I got to tha place arrived a few minutes later and we had fun trying out the new Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks game. Offers the same o'l bloody MK goodness in every bite!

Sampled a few funny videos of them guys performing acts while being held by men in black coveralls in a black backdrop. Funny, really!

The blank DVD I bought for the DVD Writer didn't work again...Maybe the problem's in the drive...

I forgot to bring the Resident Evil disc. We were supposed to have a gaming marathon that day (*and re-live the good o'l memories of ultra cheesy dialogues) but I only found out I had forgotten to put it in my bag when I got to the place. So that afternoon, drove us back to my house to get the CD. I was working on the drybrush job on the M3 upper hull I'm still building (up to now. ). When I took it for a closer look, it slipped from my hand and fell to the ground.

Gaaaaarrrgh! As a result, the stretched sprue antenna was broken and the left stowage bin on the rear went off.... The side sponsons I improvised out of plastic cards were also damaged and is beyond restoration... Crap after six months of work this is where clumsiness takes me. Waaaahhh Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!

To make matters even more crap - when I glued back the bin, the adhesive quickly dried even before I got the part into the right position. Now when I look at it, it's unusually higher than the other side. Try to pry the part away, then I risk chipping the paint job.

@#%^%$&! I sure wish I procrastinated on that job...Idiotic slip would not have happened.

I sure miss the old days where I'd bum over to 's place to play videogames the whole day, even during summer...Heck, everyday throughout summer. Sometimes, I drop there after class and go home after dinner. Waaah I'm such a freeloader. We'd play videogames until our heads ached and our eyes were bloodshot. When we finally got our own unit, well it only lasted throughout my high school life - Thanks to the same brother who burned the thing and wore off the disc spindle.

So uh, when I saw he got another one, I was excited to play classic games once more. Quite different though, it was the smaller "PlayStation One" unit, white in color. It required a boot disc to play "other games" too. Then the AC Adaptor had some weird pins sticking out. Took me a while to find the converting plugs and set up the proper connections.

Finally got the thing running, and the only game I played was Medal of Honor. i really miss that one..Back then I didn't care so much about the Second World War so I thought of it as another fps game. When I played it again, it seemed like a new experience. I found myself nitpicking on some inaccuracies like some weapons and the game systems, even the German uniforms. Well, for an old game, it's real nice. ^_^

It went up until the fifth stage, where I was only equipped with nothing else but a pistol and a SpringField '03... I got fed up with that machinegun nest...

On other stuff - Currently seeing Maburaho. The genre's a big cliche already - harem comedy as usual, but there's always something in every title of the similar genre that keeps one watching... Yum...Girls maybe...Or it's just that you don't get harems in real life.

Today we're supposed to go to school, but when I crapped this morning my classmate called and told me that our professor cancelled our classes... Yay~

It happens in the afternoon, so I attended class in the morning. We had our quizzes, two of them, and I did crap on both. I swear I did study for it, but it turned out what I studied didn't appear in the test. Crap that prof requiring us to enumerate stuff straight from the book...Grrrr you can't gauge someone's learning with that kinda crap!!!

After that I headed to Tokyo Kids at SM Manila to meet . After walking around in circles, finally came and we boarded a jeep and went off to the event.

One hour later, we reached PhilCoA. The map said to take the "ikot" route, but there was no such to be found. Waited for a few minutes and still none. The closest thing was the "UP Campus" route, but we were not quite sure if it could take us to the Bahay ng Alumni. The only place I know to get to was the Bartlet Hall, where we attend the IPMS Philippines BAC meets....

It was already 4pm and the cosplay event was about to start, so we uh....deciced to walk to the building... Man... It's like we've walked kilometers along the road lined with coconut trees and wild grass. Tiring, walking such a long distance, but the vegetation around refreshes us with oxygen. When we finally reached a checkpoint post along the waiting shed "shaped like folded paper aircraft", we took directions from the guard. He pointed to the tower in the northwest and he said that the building we were looking for was just in front of that structure. From the main road we are to take left and turn right at the first intersection we see and keep going further until we see the tower.

A few jeeps passed by and we finally saw the "ikot" signboard! Too bad it was going in the opposite direction we were trekking. Kept on walking... Walking...Walking...Then began seeing strange buildings. . Bought a few more scags, kept walking and after a while, we were happy to see crowds near a building... Another error - it was a business fair-thing with a concert scheduled later in the evening. . Walked on again... Saw a building labeled "Alumni Center", but it was very quiet. School was crap - only one prof showed up. Only good thing was getting treated to a free birthday lunch by a friend, Gran. If it weren't for that, I would have regretted coming to school.

Steamed off to the event after our fill. Well, I remember seeing "diorama" and "toy/model exhibit" written on the posters, so I thought I should see them. And the toy exhibits.

I thought it was at the World Trade Center. Turned out it was at the PTTC building. Didn't have any problems because those two are just next to each other. As we got closer, traffic was piling up and we had to dismount and walk inside. When we got to the perimeter, we had to fall in line (*very very very long line, with a LOT of frick'n line jumpers ) and we had to wait for around an hour. There were too many people inside, so some batch had to come out before they let in another. Ne-san was farther in front of the line, so she got in first before the "Megane-tachi" did. (*because the rest of us all wore glasses. )

We eventually got in after an hour, then we had to fall into another line to get a "passport". We were asked our personal data - name, age and address. After that, we were issued IDs (*and ultra tough ID jackets ) We would have gotten a paper bag but they ran out of supplies. Posters were being given away, but only for children under 12. Since a LOT of people came (*because the event was for free), families and lots of other random people (*some I think don't even watch Japanese Animation and were just there to hog out on the freebies) began pouring in. The place was dirty too. Maybe it would have been better if they charged some admission fee.. That way, they could have thwarted those who weren't really serious about the exhibits...

Finally got inside the con proper. First stop was the toys/models area. Real excited to see the models but there wasn't any. Only thing kit-related was the Gundam Caravan and a Ban Kee store selling same-priced model kits. At least the toys were kinda cool....(*though the too much articulation of the Sakura Kasugano figure makes her look segmented)

Roamed around, while Ne-san was having her pictures taken with cosplayers. Browsed around booths to take something home, but to no avail. Didn't bother with the posters and scrolls because my room is filled with tons of it. There were original Jap manga, but they were quite old. (*like Ranma 1/2 & DBZ). They sell for Php 50.00 (*about $ 1.00) each volume. Not a big fan of Takahashi though...

While at it, we had quite some fun spotting costumed people amongst the crowd. There was a guy who cosplayed as a Macross Battroid, and his stuff was real neat! Costume is very well made and he carries it real good, like the real thing. So..Uh..I snuck one in the basket. Crap it's frickin' expensive for a snack. Some Php 31.00..(*Me remember seeing original Jap markings of snack together with in a Jap grocery store once...(*lolz back then over at Sakura's when we were hunting for cups to drink on that sake he's been keeping. ) Well, I guess it tastes pretty much the same as that original Jap one.. (*tho this one made somewhere else...)

As I got out, opened the box and savored the chocolatey biscuity goodness... Now I understand why Kazami Mizuho and her folks, as well as Mr. Wong are so addicted to it... I dun think I'm going to become one, though.... Php 31.00 just hurts so much in the wallet... But it's frick'n good.... Yeah...

Crap cinema expensive... (*hey, I sound like Fei-Ku! ) Cashed out Php 120.00 for movie ticket... I remember some years back one can get cinema entertainment for only Php 20.00... Stoopid economy people responsible for country's ailing ecnomic status... Not ony that, the kit prices have gone up too!!!

I was able to spot some rare kits, like the US Tankers NW Europe (*I was looking for the kit last summer during the Sherman build, but it wasn't there...) Apparently, these tankers are re-issue items from the 1994 original debut...It's soo cool...The tanker helmet doesn't come moulded on with the heads, ensuring detail...

Found the rare German Afrika Korps infantry set too... (*no, not the ones in short pants and knee-high socks with canteens and jerry cans... - the older thing with the pith helmets and the leggings! Was thinking of getting it, but I promised myself not to get one again unless I clear more boxes... Stoopid me falling for the Japanese Army Infantry set I saw in a local shop...

Well, going back to DOOM, movie was not that bad. Things realy heated up when it switched to FPS mode. Kfroom~! Grabe walang gana! Wish we could have gone with ~shonenred's dad, though... He's the real DOOM expert... No, you wouldn't want to run into him in a dark alley...Not when he has a BFG 9000 in had.. (*ne, btw BFG actually stands for Big Force Gun. I thought it was Big Frick'n Gun )

tGot treated to a free BK Chicken Sandwich meal dinner! ^__^ (includes Sprite - na lasang bubblegum ) Thankies ~shonenred for always feeding me!! ^__^ And sorry for that glass I broke this afternoon...(*Ne, it' partly your fault too for placing the thing in there. XD)

Ealier, I got me some extra stowage for the M3... I must finish the thing this vacation... Got another jerry can, an oil can, some haversacks and a pair of steel pots... I'm thinking of roling up glued-up tissue wads to simulate tent wraps...Some gauze netting dipped in OD outta add more detail....^^

Got to finsih pending pixel art..I hope to finish it soon...

I thought I'd only use this thing as a "hobby blog". Well I haven't done any hobby-realated thing for a month now due to really busy schedules.

On the bright side - two more weeks and it's sem break! But before that, the final exams and the requirements to be submitted.

Defense on the proposal will be tomorrow, as well as the report on the project. There's another project in OS as well... Then they'll shove the last quizzes up our holes to say it's covered in the "super final"...

So uh...here I am, trying to steal a few moments from studying our documentation; enjoying the brief calm before the storm... I just hope I'll be smiling happy again after this thing is over... (<-- every semester is just the same. you just don't learn anything, do you?)

I borrowed RED-sama's G-Gundam DVDs last weekend. I'm still on ep.3... I wish I had boat loads of time to watch it.
I also got my classmate's Xenosaga The Animation DVD...Currently on ep 3 too... Need to finish watching ASAP.. And yeah, KOSMOS kicks @ss!

Maybe tomorrow, I can finally get that manga scanation data DVD my friend promised me... I hope...

Too much to do, so little time! There's still a lot of academics to do and some papers and research projects to finish..

And thanks to procrastination, we're kinda short on working time. . P/L due next week. Thesis proposal and manual writing commences tomorrow. OS/NS research work still pending. To top it all up, the examinations are coming next week.

Took a break yesterday. I may have wasted time but it feels nice.

I continued working on the M3 Stuart. Sanded the upper hull and attached the side plates. I got to put on the lights and the hull MG - after drilling a muzzle and other small holes all over the gun barrel. (kit too primitive to have moulded-on holes. ) I'm still experimenting on the PE-simulating aluminum can strips...What I'm worried about is that they're kinda tough to cut up and paint may not adhere well.. We're looking for something called lead sheet but apparently we dunno where to get one.... =_= They say it's the best material to use...

I met up with RED-sama afterwards to get his sister's application form for the school. I got me two new tubes of superglue. As usual we looked over stores for potential future builds...

And..Im kinda losing the priority level for Russian armor - Now that I've seen a local 1/35 DML Deutches Afrika Korps Panzer I This oughta foster more insterest for the vehicles in the North African front... Grraagghh!! Since I'm currently working on a M3 Stuart in Tunisia, this sure would be a great follow up... Not to mention that pending Flak 36/37 88mm Gun that I plan to do in Afrika colors.. Aaaaargggh!!! Heat wave!!!

It's small and cute too. Well a few hundred bucks costlier than the original thing I had in mind, but the quality and the bonus figures more than make up. When I finish this current project I'm stashing one. My first DML armor...Wheeeee!!

Yesterday there was a suprise all-you-can eat attack.. I wasn't prepared... I did eat breakfast earlier, so there wasn't much room for those gyouzas, pork cutlets and fried breaded stuff... If I only knew about it, I would have starved myself before the onslaught. (hey RED-sama, happy birthday to you dad!!)

We left for UP with a map, since it was our first time to go there by car...(in the past, we used to commute) Lolz It was pretty suspenseful looking around road signs and remembering landmarks...We thought we might get lost or take the wrong way or something....or ending up at San Juan. Fortunately, we didn't screw up navigation and we reached the Bartlet Hall. The place was deserted. We walked to the large storeroom in the back and they were all there... Last time we went it was October last year...

We decided not to terminate our memberships after all....Well sure, the friction between the two factions have become more intense, but we'll just remain neutral when it comes to those... Having friends and connetions in the hobby is good anyway.

The high command briefed us about an upcoming operation - Trumpeteer Convention. It is to take place on August 15-21 2005, SM Megamall as usual. They were asking for volunteers to help with the exhibits, or act as watchers... I was very much interested, but I figured out that by August, we'll be having our preliminary exams. Must study.... Maybe I can volunteer for the Nationals instead...Hmmm...Maybe I'll work on a Trump kit for the exhibit too... They're really cheap, and recently their products have improved a lot.

Later on, a lot of people brought their build/unbuilt kits for reviews and photos. Someone brought an unbuilt DML's Flak 18/36/37 gun kit. I wanted to see the kit contents but since we rarely attend meets, they might think we're strangers...

Just learned that Fritz, a friend back when we were still known as the ARMORAMA Philippine Contingent goes to the same university as I do. He's working on a 1/35 K5E "Leopold" German rail gun for the con. Told me back summer he was working for 8am - 11pm on that thing... He seems to enjoy complicated model builds. His works rock, too. And he's 17 years old at that! (but he was already working much earlier than that..) Kare wa....NEWTYPE....

At 5pm, we headed back home. After freeloading dinner, I went home too. I had requested that the MP3 be sent to my mailbox. After around 2 hours of dowloading and 9.6mbytes of data transfer, I finally have it here in my PC....It's the only item in my playlist and is looped.. I'm starting to memorize it already....Yeah~ Traveling (mune wo~)

And the Saikano D/L is nearing completion! It's currently at 75%++. If it goes at this rate, it will be done in a week!! Yay!! I just hope RED-sama's computer stops restarting by itself....

I opened up my DA page today and to my surprise, instead of seeing my user page I saw something that told me of a free one week subscription to the "paid" version of Deviant Art

It's kinda cool...And complicated...@_@ There's a LOT of fields to fill up...like in this journal thing...

On other stuff - I meet all of our professors earlier this week. Our Tech Writing prof isn't a bad person. Err I mean she may look scary at first but when you get to talk to her, she's not that "man eater" she claimed to be. Yay!

Then our prof on OS finally showed up - after two weeks... He ain't a bad person too! Kinda nerdy (and sometimes he sounds gibberish..) but we really learned a lot of stuff... Cracks nerdy computer jokes, and he makes us laugh. ....Maybe we're becomeing nerds ourselves..

And the school finally has this Japanese Culture Exposure club thing!!! TomasinOtaku - that's what they named it... I dunno..Maybe this is just some cover up for an underground group that trades CDs and books. My friend and I went over to the booth yesterday (they're recruiting members..) and yep....funny, rowdy members there were.... The club got recognized by the school only this year....(That I can understant...being a Catholic University run by conservatives and all....)

They set up the booth to look like a Ramen house. lolz

We're reporting extra early today to submit our applications... This looks like soo much fun...

First, the lights went out. After a while the prof dismissed us because we were too distracted by the heat and darkness. T'was around 1830hrs then..

As we stepped out of the building, rain fell. Hard...Real hard. Some of our friends braved through the torent. We decided to stay put and wait for the rain to stop.

An hour later, it was still raining. By 2000hrs, it stopped raining..

Turned out that our decision to go back to wait was a bad thing. There was no more rain, now we had to think of how to get out of the school. It was flooding outside....

At España blvd, a lot of cars have u-turned. They simply cannot ford through the knee-high waters.

Then a faculty member rounded us up and started a headcount. Said they were going to call up the school Oberkommando to have food delivered.. Sadly, it never came..

Around 9pm, we decided to wade. We were tired, hungry and homesick. Fortunately for us, some parts were already passable so we got out of the school in a short time. Now the problem was the boulevard... The water level was still high...

We planned to walk all the way to Morayta, in hopes that the place was dry. Once there, we would ride a jeep to our next stop - Lawton. When we passed by the overpass, we cancelled our plans... Heck the sight was like a pier!

Instead we went to Lacson street and we chose to ride a real large jeepney... It's perfect for fording the waters. (don't u just wish u had a Duplex-Drive Sherman at times like these? )

Took quite a while to traverse the river, err I mean street. After we got to dry land, everything went in smoothly....

Boy what a night... Boot was wet and my documents were messed up.

When I reached home it was 2300hrs. Went to sleep afetr a nice serving of the spicy pancit - instant type...

The big con's coming next week, and I haven't even saved up...

Formal classes starting too... I missed three subjects yesterday.

One good thing about getting sick - delicious food...^_^

A lot of professors didn't show up, as usual... The profs that did show up weren't that bad too. ...so far...

The class was less "bibo" than usual. We did not see our old friends anymore... There were a lot of new faces, mostly survivors from the section that got dissolved. Even the lady from the carinderia we frequently go to noticed about our friends who will no longer be with us...

The night sched's a lot more expensive, though... Since we have a break in the afternoon and at night, it prompts us to buy dinner and lunch.... It'll be harder to save up money this way...

Since a lot of instructors didn't come, we had a big gap in our schedule for today. We decided to check out on the new mall near the school, SM San Lazaro. We were soo excited... When we got there, we saw heavy equipment, scaffolding and men clad in work suits with hard helmets. Crap.

I read a nice book about Flash animations and games at the library today... I planned to explore the program last summer, but I forgot about it since I reformatted the drive... I gotta learn how to do it...

Commenced with Phase: Mix today... I need more data...Lady at the shop was quick to point it out....

And when it was time to go, everyone was like concerned and started saying things like "good-bye" and "take care on your way" to each other.

Awwww... I see it took casualties and late night schedules to develop concern for other people... Hmm I 'm sounding rather cheesy there..

It's 11:30pm, and everyone's asleep already.... Well, I'm different... I am a vampire now....Must get used..

I organized my schedule the other day. I found out that the earliest time we can go is at 7pm, not 6pm... T_T I guess we'll be night-owls then...>.< Well, it's a sign of progress, a part of "growing up".

Almost bought another kit this afternoon. Good thing I was able to resist the temptation... I'll buy it at a later time...

I'm all worked up again on this Tamiya 1/35 M3 'Stuart' kit I got last week.... Real cheap (Php 248.00 - about $4.00++)...and real old - like 1974... That's why I'm so tempted to buy newer accessory parts..... (I already bought newer MG add-ons last Saturday..

I like to replace the other stuff, too....But my friend won't spare me the styrene strips... I'm gonna have to improvise.... Doing a lot of research on the subject lately, but results not enough... I' even thinking of "going back" to the big 'A'... Must get more data... But I can't tho... There's a "shoot-to-kill" order on me... See there's politics involved...>< And some inter-assosciation squabbling and all that... I'd rather not get into the mess...

My friend is attending the UP meet on the 19th... I'm tagging along, I guess... Maybe I'll get free food again. We're resigning from the group - various reasons...

I gotta save up for the 26th...^^ Toy Con!
