Driving on Mineral Springs rd today after dropping mom off at work, I saw a squirrel lying on it's side in the middle of the road. Obviously it had been hurt but was still alive - I mean, it was looking right at me. So I pulled over and was waiting to be able to cross the road to get to it. My plan was wrap it up carefully in a sweater and take it...somewhere. I hadn't gotten that far with my plan just yet. As I was waiting for the traffic to die down, some old fuck in a minivan came up and ran right over it, in front of my very eyes.

I cried all the way home.

Everytime I try to sit down and make something, I can't. STRESS. It's the last week of school (yay!) which means many many many projects (boo!) and much stress surrounding graduation and everything. At least prom is over with so I don't have to worry about that anymore.

So I suppose that explains my lack of activity here on dA. I'll be trying to get some stuff up this week - but if that doesn't work I
'll definitely be working all this summer.

On another note, my new job sucks. I work at southtown's animal hospital (google that if you so desire) and it bites. I work in the kennels meaning I take care of the boarders and of the surgery patients, but I am also the janitor and if someone doesn't do their job right then I have to do that as well. And at 7.40/hour - honestly, it's not worth it. Oh well - summer job!

I can't find the rechargeable batteries for my camera and it's pissing me off.

Uh...so....there was a cat around my house this morning.
cutest little kitty; a male tabby, four socks. adorable green eyes.
he's soooo skinny and dirty. and he was digging through our garbage he was so hungry. Not to mention it's been snowing something awful and 22F.

So I brought him into the house.
And now I'm really regretting it - because my dad is going to punch me when he finds out (not literally...i hope. but he is going to be PISSED).

oh well. geuss he should have raised me to kick kitties instead of love them if he wants me to act differently.

I had a really great easter and I hope the rest of you did too! I think, however, my sister had the best Easter - her boyfriend Rob proposed to her this morning! The ring is delicate and simple but gorgeous. It's fits her perfectly. She deserves this happiness, so of course I'm delighed.

I had some extra cash from relatives, so I decided to get myself two prints from my wishlist:

I've been experimenting with photography recently and I think I may continue with it. The difference between me and most other artists I know is that I like to dabble in all sorts of media - drawing [which i stink at], painting, photomanipulation, painting and airbrushing, abstract, photography...you name it I try it.

I've also opened up a print account. If theres a specific deviation you'd like me to add to my prints please let me know via comment or note. Right now I'm just waiting for either the things that get a ridiculous amount of favs or for the things that people have requested as prints.

On another note, it seems that my subscription will be up on March 6 - eleven days from now. I told various people a few months back that when my subscription is up, I would be leaving deviantart.

I don't know how much of a secret it is, but I'm not much of a dA fan. I won't go into the long list of complaints I have, considering they're so obvious (and several hundred people have already made them previously). All I want to say is that is "artistic" community is riddled with flaw and fourteen year old assholes thinking it's myspace. I want everyone to take a moment and think about what 'art' means.

I'm not saying I am never without fault. I'm not saying that I'm an extremely talented artist myself. I don't even like using the word - artist. It doesn't seem to match me. I just don't think that posting pictures of you and your friends at the mall or stealing someone's photography/manipulation and editing it in paint is art. Maybe that's just me - but I doubt it.

Enough bitching from me.

To cut to the chase - no. I won't be leaving deviantart. But I won't be resubscribing (unless someone gifts it to me) and I certainly won't be selling prints from this website.

The things I can appreciate about deviantart outweigh the reasons I want to leave.

I've met some amazing people here; I adore being able to expose my photomanips to the caring and talented people that visit me.

So that's that.

Well, considering I'm way too lazy to make my own CSS...here's a lovely one from *Lilyas

Pretty huh? Well, since my website is nearing completion and I've already got a livejournal - I've decided to make this journal exclusively for my art; i.e: letting you all know when I start selling, showing you some of my favourite deviations, etc. All my whining/pissing/moaning will be done on livejournal (hah) and most of my poems and thoughts will be going onto my website.

Thats the plan, anyway.

1. I couldn't fall asleep so I stayed up all night.
2. I go to school and find out i only have two classes today.
3. I have really bad cramps so I decide to go home after my two morning classes.
4. As soon as I get home I see my boyfriend - who cannot move beause he slept funny on his neck. fun wow.
5. Said boyfriend tells me my cat knocked over my beloved fish tank. Thankfully, Tatsuo is alive but his brilliant and flawless fins are shredded beyond repair. He was so proud of them too.
6. My cat ate my book. Yes, you read that correctly.
7. My mom finds a dead mouse in our nice, urban home.
8. I had to go to violin without my music or shoulder rest because mom took the car...and they were in there.
8. Cramps increase steadily until I cannot eat dinner and am reduced to a couch-potato with a heating pad.
9. I thought Tatsuo (my betta splenden with the now ruined fins) died...but really he was just scaring the crap out of me.
10. The cats managed to pour out have a bottle of my favourite lotion onto my bedroom carpet. Lovely.
11. I still have gravel, a shattered tank and aquarium plants to clean up - all of which are sitting happily on my lotion-ey carpet.

Yes, the day from hell.

He never comments on my artwork, and it hurts me.
It's something thats important to me - I spend hours in photoshop but I always have to fish for comments on my pictures.

He has a deviantart, and he pays more attention to the artwork of others he doesn't even know...

He'll spend days and weeks on a website for someone he's known for a few months - but he can't take the time to leave me a comment to let me know if something needs tweaking.

He's never favourited anything of mine. Even the things I make intentionally for him.


I doubt he knows what's important to me.
He doesn't know my dreams.
He doesn't know my passions.
He doesn't know my thoughts.

But he always talks of marriage.


How can I marry someone who doesn't know me?
