1. What's your OTP, and what fandom are they from?

Dick/Babs from DC Comics.

2. When did they become your OTP?

About two years ago, I guess. I don't really keep track of the time, you know. XD

3. Why them? Did you see anything between them? If they are not canon, are they cuter than the canon pairings? If they are CanonxOC, why did you make a pairing involving your OC?

I suppose, at first, they were just naturally cuter to me than the obvious alternative -- that is, Dick/Kory. Eventually it became a matter of supporting the underdog, since Dick/Kory happens to be almost infinitely more popular. However, I find their character interaction and the way they've helped each other grow to be very appealing, too. I cannot and will not deny that Kory also helped Dick mature in a lot of ways, but ultimately I think it's Barbara that keeps him on the path of responsibility. Starfire, being notoriously emotional herself, has taught Dick to freely express his emotions and show a lot of honesty; Babs, on the other hand, helps him harness that, and teaches him when it is sometimes not proper to let his emotions dictate his actions. Also, because Babs is highly mature herself and has more than successfully recovered from her trauma with The Joker, she's definitely qualified to give Dick advice on pulling himself up by the bootstraps when he needs to.

Besides that though, I also think that the silly, lighthearted interaction between Dick and Babs is a lot more fun than it is between him and Starfire. Example:

Probably to that little diner featured in Nightwing Annual #2: Till Death Do Us Part.

Dick -- Blue jeans, a white shirt, and a dark brown leather jacket.
Babs -- Blue jeans, a stylish, wine-purple shirt with necklace, and earrings.

6. What would happened after their date?

They'd probably go to one or the other's apartment, watch a movie, maybe have a kissing session until one or both of them falls asleep. Then Dick would probably be up first next morning to serve Babs breakfast in bed. ^^

7. How would their friends react to them going on a date?

Most of their friends probably wouldn't be too involved in it, but for their closest friends -- Roy would immediately be asking Dick how the sex was, and Tim would just grin and say, 'I knew you couldn't keep away from her.' Dinah would probably say something like, 'Good for you, sweetie!', perhaps throw in a small joke somewhere that would make Babs roll her eyes. Also, Charlie (Misfit) -- because I sort of see Babs and Charlie almost in a mother-daughter sort of relationship with each other -- would be excited, and then say something after her initial congratulations like, 'If he breaks your heart, want me to kick his ass for you?'

8. What song that you think suits them? Which one of them would be the one singing it?

1,000 Words from Final Fantasy X-2. Babs wouldn't actually sing it, but it would be from her point of view, of course.

9. The two of them of them (with their closest friends) get thrown into a fairy tale.

Can anyone recommend some good songs for me that I might like? I've had my same old music on my iPod for a long while now, and I'd like something new on there that will give me a little creative kick. Please provide songs through youtube links, if you can.

Genres/Categories I love:
Indian - Hindi, Punjabi, Bollywood.
Traditional Chinese - Yes, please.
Electronica - Trance, Dance, Techno, Chill-Out (like Boards of Canada and stuff).
80s - Songs like Jungle Love, Material Girl, I Know What Boys Like, Our House In The Middle Of The Street, Rebel Yell, My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down; anything along those lines.
50s and 60s - With a good beat, please. A la Rock Around The Clock, Barbara Ann, Little Old Lady From Pasadena, etc.
Romantic - As long as the lyrics are good, and not overdone or way too sappy.

Teen Titans: Trouble In Tokyo. I'd just not have the Titans go to Tokyo just to insert as many anime references as possible. I'd have them go to Gotham instead, so that Robin would have some more history added to him in the show, and to work on as much character development and interaction as possible between him and Batman. Plus, the atmosphere would have been awesome, as well as the Titans facing Gotham's baddest villains.

I'm very excited! Even though I know I'm nowhere near as talented as a lot of other people on here, including many of my friends, I was asked by an acquaintance if I would teach his children art, since they love drawing; and I didn't really want to refuse. Free Comic Book Day yesterday went pretty well. I got to pick up lots of free comics (including DC Kids, Green Lantern, Worlds of Aspen, and some other stuff I suddenly forget because I'm rather tired), and I also bought some old Nightwing issues and a Birds of Prey trade on sale. Plus, I still haven't read my other comics from the past two weeks, so now I have lots of fun reading.

And while on the subject of comics, the third and final issue of the Oracle mini-series finally comes out this Wednesday. And I am so looking forward to it! I'm all excited and eager to read it; I want to know what happens! And I kind of want Calculator to die, and painfully too. XP

On another note, my birthday is coming up in just four days, on Thursday the 7th. I'll be turning twenty-one years old; and my eldest brother and his friend are determined to take me out and 'get me wasted'. I'll have a drink, but I don't want to get drunk. I can get plenty of stomach- and headaches frequently without the aid of alcohol, thanks. My body seems to do that on its own just perfectly.

TOP 10 LEAST FAVOURITE PAIRINGS

10. Any non-canon slash or femme-slash pairing. -- Any fandom
I don't want to seriously offend anybody who likes slash, so I'll just say I don't like it and leave it at that. It's just not my cup of tea.

9. Cyborg/Bumblebee -- Teen Titans
No. Just, no. They simply don't work, in my opinion. I can't see them being anything closer than good friends; they're both too proud, independent, and similar to get along romance-wise. Really strong and long-lasting relationships almost always require some kind of sacrifice, I think. And they're both too proud to make any sacrifices. I think Bumblebee would be willing to sacrifice for Herald (I ship Herald/Bumblebee), because he has a different kind of pride, and isn't too terribly similar to her regarding personality. And I think Cyborg can make sacrifices for Raven (I also ship Cy/Rae) because he understands the needs she requires due to how different she is. Opposites attract.

8. Tim Drake/Cassie Sandsmark -- Teen Titans
The relationship they had in the comics -- which was rather short-lived, thank the gods -- didn't feel real or emotional to me whatsoever. It just seemed like blank impulse that they got together, like they weren't thinking or truly trying to connect. They entered into it for selfish reasons (their grief over Conner's death); it wasn't even interesting or surprising. Oooh, the best friend gets together with his dead buddy's old girlfriend. How cliche is that? Not to mention pretty disrespectful to Conner.

7. Tim Drake/Cassandra Cain -- Batman
Just because it's Robin/Batgirl doesn't mean I automatically like it. Tim doesn't like Cassandra much, I think. I don't believe he even thinks about her much unless she's being evil or it's the usual Bat Family drama. He might respect her as an individual to a certain degree, but I don't see any romance between them.

6. Tim Drake (yes, again)/Stephanie Brown -- Young Justice/Batman
Maybe I don't know their relationship well enough to fully appreciate it, or maybe I'm just biased in favour of Tim/M'gann and Tim/Zoanne. But they're...well...boring to me. They don't have any spice, particularly now that he's 'dumped' her and told her that he'd better not see her fighting crime again or else he'll give her a good, brotherly spanking.

5. Batman/Wonder Woman -- Justice League
Yeah, no. Wonder Woman is constantly stuck in Amazonian PMS mode, and Batman's an a-hole (albeit the coolest a-hole in all of existence). They just clash. Both of them are too proud, fierce, and selfish. There's no way they can respect each other like two life partners do and should. Diana goes much better with the Big Blue Boyscout, because he's sweet, understanding, caring, forgiving, and he just goes with Diana so much more, dang it.

4. Wally West/Linda Park -- Flash
Gods, I hate these two. He's Flash, he's the frickin' fastest man alive, and yet somehow he's so gosh-darn dependent on this woman for, like, everything. I know it's because their relationship is supposed to be 'destiny', and special and deep and all that, but it's not. It makes him seem like he's a worthless wimp crying for Linda-Mama when she's not there, or when she's in trouble. That, and it felt like Linda was thrown into the damsel in distress role every second issue when the Flash series was running and centred on her -- er, I mean Wally. And, I prefer Wally/Jinx. I know they're not comic canon, but I don't care. Nyah, nyah! (I do love Jai and Iris though, in case anyone was wondering.)

3. Bart Allen/Valerie Perez -- Flash
I really hated these two, too. Bart was too much of a drama queen, and too anal in his 'grown up' form; and Valerie was selfish, smug and, at times, controlling over him. I think she contributed to making Bart anal because of how controlling she was. So, they suck. There.

2. Nightwing/Huntress -- Nightwing/Birds of Prey
What. The. Hell. There is no way these two work. Huntress was a bitch for sleeping with Dick when she knew very well he harbours feelings for Barbara, and when he feels guilty about it afterward and awkwardly brings it up to try and figure out and/or justify what they did, she sm...

What can I say? They're just so right for each other. He's the ridiculous, goofy playboy with the funny hat and silly antics, and she's the sweet, world-of-men-deprived Amazon girl who's so naive about the customs of man's society that she loves him despite his flaws. And even though he's a lady-chaser, he's always respected and liked her, and would do just about anything for her and to protect her. Eee!

4. Cyborg/Raven - DC

Cyborg needs love! Seriously! And I think he and Raven could understand and support each other greatly. Both of them identify with the other by struggling with the whole 'I'm a monster' ordeal. He's also fun-loving and good-natured as a great contrast to her seriousness, but unlike Beast Boy (since BB/Rae is so over-popular), he also has wisdom, and the proper sense to know just how to act around Raven and when.

As most of you have frequently reminded me, and as the rest of you may or may not have noticed, I've been gone for a while here. I've been busy with a few things:

Firstly, my family is taking advantage of the three-day weekend and cleaning up the house pretty majorly and moving furniture around, a task in which I'm often asked to help.

Secondly, I've been taking My Little Pony and fakie pony requests for restoration/customisation from people, so there's also that.

Thirdly -- and last, but definitely not least -- Twilight Princess. That game is so much fun and so addictive! I've pretty much fallen in love with it, so much so that I want to get my hands on other Zelda games now. And I even started doodling Link here and there when I have nothing else to do...Yeah.

Any who, because I really need to get back to drawing seriously and putting some stuff up on here, I'm opening up portrait (or bust) requests. So basically, I'll draw any character of your request, canon or OC, from the torso up. That means, I'll be putting a lot of effort and detail into the face, since I won't have to worry as much about full body anatomy.

I guess it's about time I at least start trying to prepare for the next contest that I have in mind. Currently, I have two different ideas on which I'm brainstorming, trying to figure out which one I would rather host. I can't tell any of you what it is, though. That would spoil the surprise.

Any how, to make it as easy as possible on everyone, I'm putting up some questions regarding the subject. I'd appreciate feedback from as many of you as possible, if you have the time and energy to help me out.

1. Should I continue holding contests with a given deadline as to when entries should be turned in, or should I end it according to the number of pictures entered?

2. IF YOU CHOSE 'DEADLINE' AS YOUR ANSWER TO QUESTION 1, how many months should participants be allowed to work to complete entries?

3. Should each participant be permitted to hand in multiple entries? If so, how many pictures can they turn in at maximum?

4. At what rating should pictures be kept: PG, PG-13, R, etc.?

5. Should I continue to allow fellow deviants to vote on entries, or should I alone judge which are the winners?

Well, I figured it was high time to finally let you all in on the most recent (and unexciting) news in my life.

First things first: A couple of you wanted me to share what happened on Halloween this year, including photos of the costume I put together and wore. But I'll have to briefly explain to you the character as who I dressed up. Those of you who know Toyman from Superman: The Animated Series will understand of what I'm talking. Basically, I created an original character, a loyal henchwoman, for Toyman called Dollface:

(Yeah, yeah, I know it looks like I'm strangling my dog in the second picture, but I'm not! XP I was rubbing/scratching her neck. She likes scratchies there. Also, we put her in a little bumblebee outfit for Halloween, so you can probably see a little bit of that in the shot. She loves wearing clothes, believe it or not. She gets all excited and starts jumping around and wagging her tail whenever you go to put a jacket or sweater on her. )

Secondly, I've been a little slow on producing artwork because I recently got some inspiration for writing fanfics again. I just finished a Dick/Babs story, but now that that's done, I am trying to juggle both drawing and writing at the same time.

Number 2. They're such an awesome match, especially if you use Beast Boy's cartoon personality and then Bette's personality from Beast Boys and Girls. They're both hyper and happy, and two positives make, well, a positive.

Barbara finally gets a few men in her life to even out all the women Dick has in his life. XD

When I started liking Robin/Batgirl, and then slowly started realising how overdone, overrated, over-appreciated, and over-loved those two are.

Never.

Those of you to whom I still owe artwork, please remind me and tell me what it is I need to do specifically that will please you. Ergo, do you want pencil lineart, inked lineart, pencil and colour, or ink and colour?

Bear in mind, the more I have to do, the longer it will take. I don't mind putting effort into your pictures at all, but I know some of you are getting impatient, so it's quality over waiting.

The reason I mention this is because I would like to finish everyone's pictures as much as I can, and as quickly as I can. So, depending on how much effort you want put into your picture, I will start working on the easier pictures that will take less time first. That way, once they're out of the way, I can work on the harder requests without any pressure to get it done fast, and can spend as much time on it as I need to in order to make it look as professional as possible.

1. First of all, he's a really nice guy. And I like his colouring style. It's simple enough that it doesn't take away the focus on the lineart, but still noticeably has effort and talent placed into it.

Hello again, all. First of all, I want to tell every one of you, thank you so much for the wonderful and kind support when I was feeling so depressed and sick. It really means so much to me that you guys have my back during hard times, and lets me know that I can depend on you. Your sympathy and helpful words really played a huge part in getting me on the road to recovery, and I just want you to know that I'm very grateful. I don't know what I would have done without you guys, or without my family. God is good to have given me such great friends.

That being said, I am feeling better lately. I hope I'll continue to get better. I've gotten back into my art, although projects are going slowly (sorry!). I've also started up on some MVs (music videos) for fun, mainly trying to piece together an MV using comic covers and interiors (and any fanart I might get permission to use) so that those ignorant fools at youtube will actually know that Teen Titans was a comic first and foremost, dang it!

Oh, yes, did I mention? I got into a small discussion a while back with a few people, saying that I thought that Raven and Starfire's comic incarnations were more interesting than their animated series counterparts. Now, don't get me wrong. I don't expect people on youtube to be that comic-cultured, but I usually expect internet users to be at least a bit comic-cultured. If that even makes any sense to you guys. XD Anyhow, I got several replies where people said, you lost me at raven., ok.?, and um, yea... they have a comic book???

But please don't ask me why I consider such people to be worth educating on the subject. The answer is, I don't know.

Any way, I just wanted to tell you guys, thanks again so very much! You all rock to maximum awesomeness!

P.S. Those still expecting prizes from the contest, I haven't forgotten about your lovely selves. I got one out as soon as I could, but recently I owed my bank a big overdraft payment due to some jerks taking money from my account without my permission. Hello, guys. Well, in case any of you were wondering about my ostensible absence on dA (and online in general), I've been sick these past few days due to a recent anxiety attack. I've had these kinds of attacks before, but it really doesn't make going through it any easier with which to deal. So right now I'm in a bit of a personal mess. I'm sort of depressed, which I do my best to fight daily, but it gets hard not to think about all the things that worry me. I've been feeling dizzy and tired too, sometimes nauseous, and recently I noticed that my pulse is a little fast (about 110 bpm). I have an appointment with the doctor, but it's not until the 2nd of October. However, tomorrow I'm going to try and call and see if I can be seen sooner than that, since I don't know if I can cope until the original date.

So right now, I'm just not feeling very good at all. I'm nauseous, I'm tired, I'm dehydrated, my heart rate is scaring me, I can't get any good sleep -- and I'm actually very afraid to be alone. Feeling like this gets me thinking about where I am spiritually concerning my relationship with God and Jesus Christ, and I start to have mental and emotional breakdowns, crying and praying and worrying about dying. During these kinds of anxiety attacks, I often start to worry about death, and I start thinking, 'If everything in this world is material and temporary, and has nothing to do with my relationship with Christ and my salvation, then what's the point?' I'm not having suicidal thoughts, mind you. I'm afraid of death, but at the same time, I'm afraid of living.

Thinking about any of the things I normally enjoy too -- cartoons, comics, and other personal enjoyments -- makes my stomach upset due to a guilty conscience, in that I spend too much time obsessed by these things and not enough time in my faith. So, it's hard for me to seek comfort or distraction in any of my usual hobbies, including art. I want to continue in my art, but I'm so distracted by my depression that I can't focus on it for very long.

Oh, and I just now got a headache. And I have the urge to cry. So, since Tuesday/Wednesday, I've been feeling very...crappy. Writing about it helps a little bit, though. I hope all of you are feeling better than I am, any how. If I might be so bold to bother some of you: those of you who believe in prayer, please say a little one for me. I feel like I could really use it.

Today was horribly busy. My parents decided to spontaneously give the house a thorough cleaning inside and out, and guess who got to help. The point of this is to see something fun and new.

- Inspired by and based on Bill Bryson's I'm A Stranger Here Myself: Rules To Live By. I started thinking of the stuff I'd like to outlaw, and decided to have a bit of fun by making it into a quiz/meme/tag thing-y.

Note: DO NOT TAKE ANY OF THIS SERIOUSLY! For real. It's all in good fun, and I'm not really asking anyone to change their opinions, likes, dislikes, or lifestyle. It's just my opinions, and nothing more. Plus, it's for laughs, so chill.

Starting immediately, the following will become illegal under penalty of law (none listed are in any particular order):

1. Writing fanfiction and/or drawing fanart of RobinxStarfire and Beast BoyxRaven. Penalty: Law breakers will be forced to read Nightwing Annual #2: Till Death Do Us Part and Beast Boys And Girls.

2. Declaring to be a Teen Titans fan when one has only seen the show, and has not read any of the comics whatsoever, or has only read a few issues of the comics with halfhearted or absent interest. Penalty: You will literally be force-fed your Teen Titans DVDs and then forced to read any and all comic issues including the original five Teen Titans and the second generation Teen Titans.

3. 5. Flaming *Porcelain-Requiem for any and all of her opinions that those guilty of said crime happen to disagree with. Penalty: You will be ground up into bread and then fed to a flock of crows.

6. Stating that The Batman (the 2004 animated series) is 'a terrible show' or 'sukz ballz' as if this were fact and not opinion, and/or comparing it to Batman: The Animated Series in order to assess its quality. Penalty: Your Batman: The Animated Series DVDs will be confiscated and become the permanent property of the author, followed by the guilty party being locked in a dark room and forced to watch Hanna-Barbera's Superfriends.

7. Producing stereotypically depicted female anime characters in one's artwork, whether of one's own creation or of a fandom, in the exact same pose and bearing the exact same expression multiple times, as well as abusing the dodge tool. Penalty: Your profile page will be flooded with flames, spam, and other manner of useless ranting, and you will be repeatedly asked how your college life fares.

8. Writing in chat speak or failing to use the English language properly when English is one's first language. Penalty: You will be forced to memorise the English Dictionary, both forward and backward, until you can spell properly and use acceptable grammar.

9. Giving artists comments on their artwork consisting of five words or less and that gives the artist nothing to think about, art-related or otherwise. Penalty: You will no longer be permitted to make comments on any and all pictures, photographs, fractals, and other valid forms of art.

10. Abusing the English and Japanese languages, either separately or simultaneously (the latter is especially illegal), particularly when Japanese is not one's native language. Fanboys.
Some of them amuse me greatly with their stereotypical male-ness; some of them bewilder me, especially the ones who are guilty of inflation art. I mean when they draw them so huge that the character looks like she's going to crush The Daily Planet skyscraper beneath her breasts, or he/she is going to accidentally swallow up the planet inside their flabs.

Don't like it. Easily disturbed by it. If you like it, cool, but I don't really want to look at it.

Critique, regardless of art form or genre.
If the critique is helpful and well-presented, then I appreciate it. If I don't want any critique though, then please try to limit it.

I respect it as a valid form of art within society, but it's not always my thing.

Despite my choice of mood displayed below (I'm fairly cheerful today), there is one thing lately that's got me miffed: I seem to have lost my hand at drawing people well anymore. I don't know if it's because I haven't been practising for a while or what. Regardless, I really need to get back at it before I can be satisfied with anything I produce art-wise; so I expect that I won't really be updating for a while longer.

In other news -- some of you are going to be surprised, maybe a few of you will be annoyed, and yet the rest of you will be apathetic -- I have just discovered a new pairing that I am absolutely in love with: Jason BardxBarbara Gordon. I was reading through my old Silver Age-Showcase Batgirl comics, and apparently these two really had a thing for each other. It was totally irresistible to me, especially since I happen to love obscure and unheard of couples -- and it especially doesn't hurt if it happens to be canon. So at first they piqued my interest, but now I'm just heading down into the gutter. And it will probably get steadily worse.

So anyway, imagine my delighted surprise when I read yesterday's issue of Robin, and Jason Bard was there!!! (Granted, he had some random blonde chick in his bed, which ticked me off. THROW HER OUT AND GET BABS IN THERE, DANG IT! You know you want the sexy redhead instead!) Point being, he's still part of the DCU, and even has his own business: Jason Bard Investigations. So, he's come a long way from starting out as an amateur detective in the Silver Age comics. For a character of whom I'd never heard up until recently, that's pretty impressive.

BUT! I still love DickxBabs, too. Of course. It's just that at the moment, I'm more excited about JasonxBabs because they're a new discovery for me, and therefore there's lots and lots of unexplored character interaction waiting ahead. Besides, if Dick has both Babs and Kory as major women in his life, then Babs needs a couple of men for her romantic interests, in order to even out the playing cards. So rest assured, I haven't converted; I'm just momentarily distracted.

Okay, so, I'm feeling a bit better now, thanks to everyone's willingness to listen to my gods-awful rant and actually respond. I'm pretty sure I sounded like the biggest b**** with all of my fit-throwing, but you know, I snapped; I was having a really rough time with myself and my friends being pushed around for our beliefs, so I got carried away and had to cry about it. Ooh, I'm beginning to wish I had never come back to DA. It's causing me so much stress, I can feel it in my chest and stomach, that uneasy squirming and that hard-to-breathe sensation. All of the arguments, all of the debates, all of the hatred and fury between opposing sides in this subject or that subject -- it just gets to me after a while. No, I'm not trying to compose an angsty 'IM LEAVN DA FOREVVERZ OH NOES!!!!11!' entry here to get all of you to swarm in and give me attention. I'm just trying to vent a little bit and get some honest replies from friends and watchers.

Why does everyone's opinion insult somebody, somewhere? Why is there drama on the internet?! I loathe internet drama! And yes, someone is probably going to pop in and tell me, 'If you don't like internet drama, why are you being an internet drama queen?!' Well, maybe I am. Oh, well. My fault. So I'm a loser and my opinion doesn't really matter, unless you happen to somehow, for some odd reason, find it necessary to verbally shove my face into a mud puddle for ranting (again). Before you do though, let me save you the trouble: I'm intolerant, I'm hypocritical, I'm a stereotyping/generalising jerk, I'm a bigot, I deserve to be verbally b****-slapped, I'm a retard, etc., etc. Because apparently I'm not with the times and the trend of trying to make everyone in the world happy by accepting all things good and evil. Well, if you were looking for someone with that agenda in mind, then holy shit (pardon my language)! You came to the wrong page! I'm not the Pro-Fuzzy Candy Fairy you were looking for! How can this be?!

However! Don't get me wrong: I love a good debate as well as the next educated person, but when one side implies or downright states that the person with whom they don't agree is an 'idiot' or a 'moron' or some such rotten name, then it just gets monotonous. People can't have an opinion anymore. And if you try and express it, you get wailed on. And nobody really cares about standards these days. These days, the only standard is, 'Don't step on anybody's toes!' or 'Don't get in the way of what makes a person happy!' or 'How dare you voice your opinion to me, or in general, if I don't agree with it! You're going to hurt someone's feelings or make them upset! And even worse, you've made me upset!'

I'm sorry, but the way I see it, you can't have your own opinions and ideas without making someone upset. You can't voice your opinion anymore, especially if it's from our side of an argument (myself, *Porcelain-Requiem, and *MasterPyro mostly, who both ought to know what I'm talking about). Because heaven forbid you offend somebody, or stand in the way of what makes them feel all happy, fuzzy, and horny inside. But of course we should have to deal with what they like. Because that's completely different! Because they're tolerant! -sparklesparkle- They don't go around telling people that they don't like their pairings, or their beliefs, or their standards at all! No sir! Oh, except for the part where they actually reply and argue with you about it, which in that case is perfectly okay, because, 'Well, you started it! If you hadn't voiced your opposing opinion first, I wouldn't have PMS-ed all over you and gotten my panties in a bunch! Hi, all! I am so very sorry for my long absence, and therefore the extreme lack of comments on deviations and journals. My computer crashed recently and had to be reformatted, and I had to wait to get anti-virus protection again before I could get on the internet at all. Also, if I have replied to you, but my replies are very short, that would be because I logged in to see a crap load of messages; my automatic reaction was, 'I don't have time to look through all of these!' But, now that my computer is back and running, I'm hoping that I can try and catch up successfully around here.

So, if you were wondering what the heck happened to me, that's my excuse. My stupid computer broke. Oh yeah, did I mention that I lost ALL of my files? Yes. ALL of them. Music, pictures, stories, -- the whole basket. And I don't want to hear the 'you should have backed them up' story, because I frickin' had the opportunity to. I went and got CDs and drives and everything, only to walk back in and find that my brother was being impatient again and reformatted it on his own without letting me save it first!

On a completely unrelated and happy note, though -- Teen Titans: Year One issue #5 was sooooooo adorable! It had Speedy/Wonder Girl fluff! I squealed so loudly when I read it!! With the cliff and the sea and the sunset and Roy being all suave and Donna being happy and naive and then the glow and the KISS!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! It left me a very happy Roy/Donna fan. Very, very, very, very happy. X3

Well, my first week of Beginning Photography has gone, eh, I'd say pretty well. I really like my instructor; he's a really nice and really cool guy, very patient and very one-on-one with his students and super helpful with everyone's problems. Some of what he talks about is a little hard to follow at times, but I assume that's just because I haven't been able to actually hold a camera and take pictures just yet because we've been learning the fundamentals so far. We did learn how to reel film last Thursday, which was actually kind of fun. I closed my eyes while doing it, because, of course, you have to reel your film where you can't see it, otherwise the light exposure will ruin it. But, you all knew that.

There are only two things I dislike about my class...but I guess complaining doesn't fix anything, so whatever. If only it weren't for those two anonymous deals that make me edgy about my class...

It seems like there's been the strangest weather going on just about everywhere. It's a little frightening, almost. I woke up this morning and looked out of our living room window, and there's snow on the mountains! In the end of May! In Arizona! Finally, I've updated my journal where you won't have to file through pages and pages of comments! Sorry about that. I didn't want to update anew because that's the journal link that I provided for the Contests ad here on DA. But I feel like my journal does need a bit more re-organising, so easing up on all of the comments should help.

Any how, just some random news going on with me. I felt I'd just let everyone know what's going on lately. Well, first and most exciting for me, I got a pair of anatomical models today! You know, the kinds you put on the little stands, and you can bend them any way you want for drawing reference? I got a pair of Art S. Buck grey models, and they're awesome. The woman is much more flexible than the man. C'est la vie. So yes, I'm excited to getting to using them. I'm a bit tired today to do anything with them, because I stayed up all last night until 7 this morning, so I'm rather exhausted, but yes. Maybe tomorrow, or next week.

Second exciting thing for me is that, this Monday, I'm going to my first Beginning Photography class, which I'm taking during the summer semester. I've heard that it's a pretty good class, and that the instructor is a great teacher, so I'm hoping I'll enjoy it. First though, I have to get plenty of rest. Sheesh. All I can think about it sleeping.

Oh! And we have a rabbit in our back yard that keeps coming around and eating my mother's pansies and other plants. I haven't seen him yet, but we're setting up a humane trap that should catch him so we can set him out loose somewhere else. My parents tried to shoot at him the other day, but I started getting all upset and begged them to leave it alone, so they finally got a catch-trap today. It's too windy to set it up right now, though; the wind keeps blowing the trap shut, so we have to wait until the weather gets a little better.

You are to draw any DC Comics character with a switched costume, or switched powers. For example, the episode The Quest from Teen Titans where everyone donned Robin's costume during his absence; or Teen Titans Go! issue #24, 'Power Failure', where Robin received Starfire's powers, Starfire received Cyborg's, etc. However, since these have all been done, please try something else. The point of this is to see something fun and new.

Also, you don't have to draw just one person. If you want to draw two, or three, or more characters with switched costumes/abilities, then by all means, do so. However much effort and creativity you want to put into it. Have fun!

Additional Rules:

- If you draw a female in a male character's outfit, feminise it to the obvious. That is, make it fit so that it's not loose on her. If you want to have fun feminising the outfit even more by adding or changing things, go for it, but don't feel obligated. If you draw a male in a female character's outfit, you MUST masculinise it. No superhero drag queens, please.

- Romance is allowed. Just no yaoi, yuri, or nudity (wouldn't nudity defeat the purpose of this contest? ). You can do Dick/Kory stuff if you absolutely must, but bear in mind that I'm not a big fan of those two.

- No OCs, please.
