This beast was expensive. I was able to get a discount on it since I worked at Publix and that took about $80 off. I even got a new SD card with it, 8GB. I really do hope I continue to get better now that I have this. This can do so much and I want to learn as much as possible.

I'm really excited and lucky to have this camera tho. I basically sold my soul to my dad because I owe him so much $.


P.S I find it ironic that I got the DSLR now because I got my Canon Powershot a550 in May07 as well. Happy belated birthday to my a550, it's a year old now . I'm still going to use it, just not as much.

I just posted two marco pictures that I took with it. I'm having a bit of trouble taking photography-like pictures with it. I will get the hang of it eventually. It's a lot more complex than my older camera. It has a LOT more settings. It's hard to get it to focus on stuff really close.

Why did I use that angle?
Why did I zoom in so much?
Why didn't I zoom in further?
Why do I use digital zoom too much?

Etc.

I'm stuck on using digital zoom. It gets me close to my subject of choice. The regular zoom doesn't do any justice. Of course, I could move closer... but what about when I can't?

Maybe my equipment just sucks, and needs updating.
Albeit, I do use a four year old camera that is a point and shoot.

Hopefully I get that new camera soon. Canon a540. If anyone has a better recommendation, please do share.


Also, to make matters much more complicated, I have Fine Arts coming up very soon. I am in three categories: Digital Photography, Worship Team, Guitar Solo.

Worship team, I am not afraid for.
Photography, I am very little afraid for.
Guitar solo, definitely afraid for.

It was just wow, WOWING. I wanted to stop, and watch it. I wanted that picture so bad. I mean, if you guys saw what I did...

But I guess it's good I didn't have my camera or I would have been their the whole morning and missed my bus, so I guess it has its advantages and disadvantages. You basically see some pretty inspiring stuff when you have no time.

I might walk tomorrow JUST so I can get that picture. Unless it rains. Leaving early and watch the beginning.

Last night, I was on the Olympus website and was looking at accessories for my camera. I saw a ton of different things, even an underwater case.

Today, I noticed that dA displayed the ISO, shutter speed, camera type and what not. I had no clue what it really meant so I looked it up on Wiki, and actually learned some.

I also went swimming and while underwater I realized the potential of the case. There could be a ton of really good shots. Also coming up from under I noticed quite a bit of shots that would be really good as well.

There are a TON of places I really want to visit to take pictures of now.
