the hardest part is the intonation (ranging from 1-5). since i already know japanese, i can recognize the meaning of certain kanji (or han2 zi5) quickly, but i don't know how to pronounce them in chinese.

it's a lot of work, but fun. keeps the old noggin' fresh.

managed to do some travelling. i went to D.C. over the summer
and it was phenomenal. i'm still working my ass off in law school, but i'll be a lawyer in May 2009. crazy. apparently, wisconsin has this diploma privilege thing, so i'm licensed to practice upon graduation. it's nice not having to take the wisconsin bar, but it looks like i might end up having to take the illinois bar--seeing as how i might be a prosecutor...things are uncertain. such is life.

anyways, i miss writing. that's the more important thing, ugh dammit. i need to get on that. yuh, for sure. i might submit some classic poems in the meantime.. poems that i wrote years ago but never let anyone read..

oh my gosh i feel like SUCH a loser! my muse has been M.I.A. for quite
sometime! i think i will resubmit some of my earlier works that haven't gotten a whole lot of attention, just to keep them circulating, but also so I can "look alive." *laugh*

i hope everyone is well and not entirely disappointed in me.
i just completed my first year of law school and i'm into my third semester.

i did family law full time over the summer and i'm continuing that commitment for the next year in conjunction with my classes. i'm also a member of the international law journal and i'm looking forward to writing an article on a current intellectual property issue. maybe i will get published!

i promise i will write something as soon as my muse comes back from vacation.

crap such that i cannot get back to my roots..

so i'm back home..but my heart will always be in Nishinomiya, Japan. *sigh*

i just started school..it's going great! Philosophy rocked when i left for Japan
and it's nice to know that it rocked while i was gone and continues to rock
now that i am back. hehe

umm... poetry. right. so the thing is, my whole life--the raging vortex that it is--
has sucked away my inspiration..seemingly.

however, i did write a little something last week that i will polish.. whether or not
it is submission-worthy is another factor worth consideration..yes..

anyways the point is i am back and if i survive this last semester, yes i am graduating in December and going to law school in August 06 where yet ANOTHER vortex will be added on to the already existing vortex rendering inspiration all but impossible. heh...

what was i saying? OH! if i SURVIIIIVE then, you will see some deviations possibly
between November and July....lol...so....yeah.

seeing powerful dark purple on the horizon, the ascent of [its] colors:
light pink and dark blue amidst patches of grey-ish white or [black] clouds.. such a display of the setting sun yanks my stomach's butterflies into a frenzied motion.

i receive such powerful inner excitement when the sky is looking so beautiful.. when it looks "black and blue" (my term for the aforementioned display), i call it a wound.. for it strikes me as [painfully exposed].. the sky is bearing its flesh in all its beauty.. spilling over the sky in crimson, purple delight and the sun sets it on fire such that the sky is seemingly ablaze..
the lower the sun goes, the more the sky attempts to heal itself.. hence the colors become darker..richer.. even more beautiful..

i say: bleed beautifully and heal quietly..
i pay homage to your daily struggles...
i literally look up to you.

needless to say i was happy when i finished writing it.. happy and afraid. my heart was beating really fast, like i was apprehensive.. it`s a weird process, inspiration. terrible, yet necessary. honestly, i thought my Muse would never find me again because i am so busy with school, this new part-time job i got, and just life in general. but she made time for me and i made time for her. i read it over a million times seemingly and i can`t understand what i`m getting at (as usual), but i understand the feeling in it.. it`s wierd. i can write feelings, but i can`t make sense of words. the life of a poet must always be like this i think. *laughs* one day, the meaning will come.

i receive such powerful inner excitement when the sky is looking so beautiful.. when it looks "black and blue" (my term for the aforementioned display), i call it a wound.. for it strikes me as an exposed wound.. the sky is bearing its flesh in all its beauty.. spilling over the sky in crimson, purple delight and the sun sets it on fire such that the sky is seemingly ablaze.. and the lower the sun goes, the more the sky attempts to heal itself.. hence the colors become darker..richer.. even more beautiful..

i say: bleed beautifully and heal quietly..
i pay homage to your daily struggles...
i literally look up to you.

i disagree.

inspiration can never be a fabrication. it is real and only those of us who have ever been under its spell, in the midst of its strange excitement, can speak of what it is to be inspired.

Anouilh just doesn't know what he is talking about. if he did, he would bite this tongue for fear of contradicting himself.

talent belongs to the mimetic artist. for his false works look so much like the real thing.

inspiration belongs to the artist proper. for his works are true in so far as their source:
the mind. the heart. the soul. the mental playground.
