- visited a friend who just gave birth to a baby girl. darn cute baby! then again, i've not seen a baby that's not adorable.
- attended a seminar on social entrepreneurship. very inspiring to the hidden entrepreneur in me. i've always wanted to open a shop selling craft items that i make... but that dream have yet to be realized.
- had a friend over while i babysit my niece n nephew. the girl slept early n the boy keeps wanting to play ball. such extremes! but they're good company n don't disturb you if you tell them not to. great kids with great parents.
- took neoprint photos with two gal palz. haven't done that in sooo long n it was FUN! we each have about 3 photo stickers each as memorabilia.
- went for weddings... friends n relatives alike. wedding of the year among friends was the prev weekend. bride looked gorgeous n groom was suave. best part: i get to see my 2 fave guys n the other xinlus.
- had a picnic lunch with a friend. rather spontaneous picnic too. only a couple of hours notice. lucky i'm game for spontaneity.
- assisted a friend for a library story telling session. quite an experience. big group of mix age kids. there's a technic to getting everyone's attention: be firm!
- bought quite a number of tops ranging from longsleeves tee to sleeveless short dresses. also bought shoes n hand gloves.
- watched pirates of the carribbean. johnny depp n orlando bloom!

well that's all that i can rmbr. of coz there's the chats on msn, the sms n rare phonecalls, the tv shows n the books/manga read. tmr i might be going bowling. yeah! can i get a TURKEY?

anyway, i've been busy with work. what else could it be, right? preparing portfolio (not mine but the students), PTC...what-nots. but i do try to make time for other stuffs (like sketching, reading manga, watching dvd...) so life's pretty ok. nothing particularly exciting (except those Getz rides...those are always great but not sure when i'm going on another one)

talk about holiday, i've still got to report to work for two weeks. bleargh! so much for a holiday. it's full day work no less! so weird... on normal days i work half day but during the holiday i've to work full day. tsk tsk... will i miss the kids? i duno. it's so different from last year. will see...

yeah! i finally got myself a macbook. two whole months of salary gone just like that. haha... but no regrets. i love my macbook! though it's not really the one i wanted. i wanted to get the white one but they didn't have stock. so i settled for the black one. i'm loving the features so far but have yet to explore everything.

on another note... i haven't been drawing much nor have i been snapping much photos worth posting. for the former, it's coz i've been working n can't seem to find the time (or if i've the time, i dun have the mood) to pencil down the images in my head. as for the latter, i dun have my camera with me! arrrrgh! according to my friend, my babey is sick...tsk. need to send it to d camera doc. sad sad... haiz...

1. did some relief teaching. mostly in a pri sch.
2. worked in a factory.
3. bought my canon S1 IS.
4. went for a make over. my bestfren was my make up artist. love the look she did for me.
5. enrolled in an early chdhood edu dip course.
6. fell in love.
7. caught a few beautiful sunsets and saw a couple of magical rainbows.
8. got a job as a playgroup teacher.
9. still in love.
10. celebrated my bday on the day itself (as opposed to past years where d celebrations were either before or after the day) in spore
11. went KL with parents and a very close fren
12. still very much in love.
13. watched harry potter and the goblet of fire & the chronicles of narnia: the lion, the witch and the wardrobe. loved both movies.

hmmm... yeah. i guess tat's my 2005 in a nutshell. i've not thought of any resolutions for 2006 and i dun suppose i will come up with any. i juz dun have the self-discipline to keep my resolutions hehe... oh well... but i do have hopes for 2006. i hope that i'll be able to get through watever obstacles that life throws at me and emerge from the trials a better and stronger person. i also hope that our love will never fade.

i got myself a new digital camera! it's a canon S1 IS. way cool! i'm still playing around with the camera's features. still not very familiar with it.

the expedition to belawan, medan was a success. great team, great experience, wonderful host, wonderful place... wish i could stay there longer but also glad to be back home. juz one of those times when you get conflicting emotions.

i did some sketches over there... not very good ones (though the villagers seem to think i can sketch very well) in my opinion. will consider putting them up here... i'll think abt it first.

the bookstore sells all kinds of design and art ref books and mags! best thing is... they allow u to browse the books! not like borders or kino where some of the books are wrapped in clear plastic so u can't see the insides. i bought a book and a mag. i totally luv the book! it's got ref fr several jap anime and manga artist. not really the mainstream kind. but still the techniques used will give me new ways to colour my artwork (now tat i wont be able to use digital CGing anymore). so yeah. it wasn't totally fruitless... though i still need to find a cheap tshirt printer. ]]> ~yaney http://yaney.deviantart.com/journal/3206704/ http://yaney.deviantart.com/journal/3206704/ Tue, 24 Aug 2004 23:41:20 PDT and one of the perks is to get to use psp7. yes! for those of u who dun already know, i get to use psp7 at work. at home i only have ulead photoimpact which is ok but not as great as psp coz it doesn't have the layer option. or maybe it does and i haven't discovered it yet. i dunno. anyway... so there goes my digital artwork! i've to get back to an all traditional medium of art then. sigh... sad sad...

i went to watch some fireworks yesterday at the esplanade. it was awesome! but sad thing is i went alone. oh well... i did enjoy the fireworks. i took some shots... but there was actually this pillar so the pics dun turn out too rite... stoopid pillar! there were way too many people, so i couldn't move to another spot juz to get a better shot.

after that i stayed around and watched this band called Dancing Nannies play. woohoo! great songs! raggae inspired.and there was this bare-bodied guy who did a fire dance performance! woohoo hot! didn't get to take he's pic coz my digicam batts went flat!

ya... i'm reading saiyuki and saiyuki reload together. actually i bought 2 vol of saiyuki reload first and read those... but i realised that there's actually a saiyuki which is supposed to be read before the reload ones... how blur can one get?! haha... very blur if i am that one anyway, saiyuki is an imported manga so it cost a bomb! while saiyuki reload has been traslated locally. dunno why the double standards... maybe it's a conspiracy to make me spend more money on manga! huargghh... no way! at this rate... i might juz go broke!

it's end of my studio photography class. yesterday was the last day. gonna miss me course mates... they're a bunch of cool people (fun & crazy too!) i presented my portfolio of some of my best shots to the lecturer... he really liked 2 of my shots. will probably post them here once i've scanned them.

i was checking thru the contests i've entered, and i noticed that one of them, the one by ~Sonartoo doesn't have any other entries. hmmm... why ah? do enter the contest... i mean it's a pretty different kind of fan art contest... and the prize... it's really cool (well at least i do think it is)... check out ~Sonartoo 's journal to find out more.
