ORIGAMI

During February, introduced me to origami, and the amazing origamist . With diagrams from Figuer, and demonstrations from Kei, I folded so many stars, roses and hearts! I would have uploaded them but since it was the month of feburary – I gave them all away before I realized I hadn’t even taken a photograph of them! Oh well. Maybe if my boyfriend takes a photo of it and uploads it. (I can’t believe he joined DA).

Things I folded:

-Arabesque stars.
A mini competition about folding the smallest ensued. I was going to fold a 1cm by 1cm one but unfortunately that spirit kinda died. Don’t worry it shall come back one day mwahahaha!
Anyway, I was going to make a deviation featuring the 1cmx1cm one, but you can see the stars that are left in my scraps: [link]

-roses
Way too pretty. I think I folded like 20. Then made chocolates to go with them.

ART TRADE

I totally fell in love with Figuer’s origami. So I asked to do an art trade. The number of hours I spend on a picture = the no of hours he will spend folding origami for me. Check out Figuer’s journal if you want origami too! But he is getting a lot of trades.

I've decided to come back on DA because I still want to draw and improve on my art. Even if life gets hectic, I've made a goal of making something digital at least every 3 months. Thanks to all the lovely people who still stop by to chat and look at my gallery~! I'm still going to //attempt// to be as active I was before

So to celebrate me back to drawing again, I've finally finished the WIP which has been on my screen for a year - New Year Spirit. I also drew another picture in the space of a single day -Beach Fun. I also become slightly obsessed with origami...Going away to the country for a week without people or the internet does this to you! I hope that I've improved somewhat, and that I'll continue to improve.

Oh and old news that I never posted, Underwater Rainbow Bridge won a competition in Dolly magazine; check out pg 115 of the December 2008 issue. I won the entire set of Fruits Basket manga.

(and spreading like wildfire. I swear I've seen this so many times.)

Colour: does rainbow count? I used to like purple a lot. But I hate pink.

Movie: atm Ratatouille which inspired me to cook non stop.

Right now I am thinking how fast everything has gone this year! But while I was ploughing away at homework and trying not to procrastinate, everything was so slow. Anyhow, I'm really glad I've finished high school -shockgasphorror- I'm pretty happy with my results (they came out yesterday) and I had better get into the university and course that I want!

It was so weird not having to study. But it means more time devoted to art! YAY! I've never really tried hard to improve my art. It was always random pictures every holidays to pass the time/procrastinate. xD From now on, I'm going to TRY -let's hope I stick to this statement-

I've started school and I already have a billion assignments. I was having a mini -stress moment yesterday...and it's only the first week back.

This yr is yr12 for me so I don't think I'll do much art. But wait for 2008 and beyond and I'll certainly be into DA. I can't wait! Then I can really try to improve and develop my own style.

So, this will probably be last thing I do this yr.

She is going to live with us for a year. I'll have to teach her English! These holidays are becoming exciting.

I went ice-skating today with Moosh, Kei, a friend affectionately known as the Mosquito (long story) and the friend who is awesome at soccer (not giving out real names...XD).
It was great meeting up. I fell over a few times and I think I have a bruise on each knee. My teeth hurt too...I had the wires on my braces changed today as well. I really hope I can have my braces off by this year.

The day before I went to see Happy Feet. YOU HAVE TO GO SEE IT! It has now become my all-time favourite movie. I want to learn tap dancing! I want to save all the penguins! The movie as so beautiful, it just made me realise all these things...I stared into empty space for about 20 min when I got home. *_* I'm going to get it on DVD when it comes out... and watch it over again. XD

These holidays I did watch Bleach. I've watch all of them except for the latest one I think was episode 109? It's exciting because the fillers are over and the anime is back to following the manga. I don't know, maybe I might do some fanart. I also watched Ouran High School Host Club. It was so funny. I loved it because it was based on stereotypes (well they got broken down) and the art/facial expressions... I wonder what anime I should watch next? I haven't watched much really. I shouldn't actually, because next yr will be yr 12! scary...

I'm kinda going backwards in writing about the holidays. Most of the holidays was really relaxing around. I read some of my English texts (reading is my one of my fav past times)...ate chocolates (is feeling bad about the many boxes of chocolates that are empty)...watched anime...sketched a lot...ran around the oval and did exercises...had picnics...did lots of housework...cooked a lot...No I found it really de-stressing actually because I never usually do much chores and the last term of school was really brain-work. XD New years and Xmas were ok. That period of time was mostly going to parties and having parties.

And now, its major packing and organising. I really am going to fly away. XD

Oh yeah, another thing Kei-chan is teaching me Japanese. The first verbs I learnt: tabemasu, shinimasu and koroshimasu (to eat, to die and to kill). I think that's how you spell them. I had another look in the scary garage and dug out two old textbooks about learning Japanese. I don't even know why we had them, because they were't the ones I had when I learnt Japanese in yr8. But still...it's so much fun! ^^
