Ehehe, (nervous laugh). So for you who have been wondering where I've been, check this out ^_^;;

As I've neglected to get my computer fixed from last year and such (power cord outlet must be replaced), the messages built up!! (So that's also why I'm so slow with replying your comments). I will go to art school in the fall, busy busy. However, they have a scanner and I don't, so please look forward to my works then (unless my computer is fixed, and then sooner!)

Happy New Year's!!

This year for the first time I went to Times Square (because it was near the post office anyway) but I couldn't see anything. Then we went to a new restaurant (opened 3 months ago) in K-town called "Shilla." It was very strange. All the workers were young (relatively tall) Korean males except for one short hispanic guy (looked like a chubby version of the Napoleon Dynamite dude. Really! A little older though).

Wooo, just got back from the Cross County 3:20 showing of Cinderella Man!!!!!! It was soooooo awesome and very moving! Go Russell Crowe! ugh, I was so tense during the movie and stuff that I got a headache afterwards!!!! (At least I think that was the reason!!) But after I was so happy because the guy who played "Mike" looked really familiar, and I remembered who he was afterwards - an Irish dad in an immigration movie! How specific, right!? hehe. Oh, here we go - In America
There were so many touching scenes in Cinderella Man - almost too many! hehe. Like when they were in the church praying for Braddock and when everyone donated money and all this stuff!

Yaaay!!!! I finally saw it! I just got back a few minutes ago from the 4:35 showing at the United Artists Yonkers theatre............. Adam Sandler was sooooo great!!!!! And Chris Rock looked kinda out of place in the trailers, but I was still sad when he. Yeah, in case you haven't seen it already!!!!! Anyway, it was so awesome and it seemed like a serious movie with too many jokes (but in a good way). I just checked the ratings when I checked the name of the theatre........... I can't believe it's only PG-13!! Kids these days....... sheesh! Just kidding! Anyway, if you enjoyed this movie too (or didn't!) feel free to post your own opinions!

.....I still can't believe the movie was only PG-13....... especially with the video of Adam Sandler and the warden's secretary! And of course, Rob Schneider was shouting "You can do it!" I think tomorrow I'm seeing Cinderella Man [I wanna see Mr. and Mrs. Smith before that tho, since it came out first.......... nope, my thirst for action movies - interestingly caused by the non-action movie Howl (unless you consider that action?) is bigger 'cause of Longest Yard..... ] with my parents if my bro's not to busy with finals (I just went with him today - we had the whole theatre to ourselves for a little while. The "turn off your cellphones" announcement totally ruined that bad-looking wedding-crasher movie with owen wilson and people - no sound and stuff. Also, during the movie, people tried to clap - hell, I woulda too, but only two people out of about six did, and fifteen minutes apart! too bad...... no one clapped at the end tho? just during the game. and my bro woulnd't let me stay the whole credits. oh well.)

Conclusion (if you're skimming, the decent part): I don't really remember the game from Remember the Titans, but I feel like this movie's game was a LOT more exciting (and Titans was a REALLY good movie!). (Plus, the basketball game between Adam Sandler and the "brother" was really cool! But watching him get beat up by that guy and the guards was really painful.......) Anyway, I'm sure other people have said this, but (and coming from a football non-fan if we speak American - I don't mean soccer! ) football games in movies are so exciting! And this was no exception! (Well, I saw an R-rated football movie with a friend a few years ago and THAT was really boring, plus my grandma came in and told me my family was leaving five minutes before the end.... so we left early. Don't remember what the movie was. A lot of naked locker room scenes tho. DX)

whoo, she's finally off the comp. so yeah, my teacher caught me right when I was about to leave...... ラッキー！！

So yeah, I talked to him about internships and stuff, but I hope I wasn't too foward! >__<;;

I also met Lawrence Eng and a few other people, both that day and on Saturday, and I saw the Murakami display at the Japan Society twice! Yay! ditched me tho. I think that M-san must not have liked me because on Saturday she and the other mic woman never let me ask a question - they even avoided me when the panelists pointed me out. ^.^;;

At Thursday's panel, I made one of the volunteers upset by something I said about Akamatsu Ken's Random House books, but when she found out it wasn't my opinion but just what I read, she was happier (she had been working at Random House at the time). She randomly asked me to go to the gallery with her? (I wasn't going to go originally because I was gonna go on Sat with ~catseye436), but I guess she had to go do volunteer work, so I went by myself which was kinda cool anyway! ^-^

Anyway, it was fun.......

urgh, physics classes start tomorrow, but I've no idea of the school supplies....
Speaking of which:
Last night (rather, this morning) I had a weirdo dream about the physics class tomorrow - part of it was that we were in a theatre we were in last summer (this year it's in an atrium), but we were just waiting. Then we all migrated to the atrium, which was really a cafeteria???? And the stairs (3 sets!) were actually VEEEERRY steep ramps - my clogs (clogs????? why????) were too slippery, and ~catseye436's shoes were almost as - but she dragged me up two ramps, and our friend C got impatient and shoved me up the last one.

On a different note, my dad arrived from Korea today....
My Japanese host family is coming for a week next Monday! Yay! I dunno what I'll do with them though....... (I mean as in what we'll do together). Maybe dinner? I dunno. There's not really much to do here, 'specially since they're already going sightseeing!

Hm, I saw Howl's Moving Castle on Friday 6/09 with ....... It was lotsa fun, but I like the book much better........ Howl is cool! Yay! But transforming is not. It had the normal Miyazaki charas, etc....... I'm not really a fan. I drew a fan art without looking at movie art (I was at school for the seniors graduation as an honour guard........ urgh very hot!!), and Sophie had short hair, but it turned out she did in the movie too! ^-^

hrm, what else.......... anyway, it's very hot.......... *melts*

Hello, everyone. Happy (albeit late, sorry!!) holidays and new year! I hope you are all enjoying yourselves!

I am currently trying to install a shelving system (elfa) above my desk (beech veneer, hate that color. My desk came in that color instead of birch. I had so many various problems when buying that desk that I gave up. u_u;; ) I also need to study for some big tests (my brother's studying for them too! >___<;; ) and a Japanese competition (captain!! >____<;; this is my last chance ever so I'm nervous....)

My christmas was pretty uneventful. We started a couple New Year's Resolutions -esque traditions (ugh.....) and played Uno.
........
Last minute christmas shopping, of course. I'm a little annoyed. My mom couldn't buy DS. I'm not upset that I don't have it or anything. It's an odd story, so sorry if someone actually reads this and I wasted your time? She went to Best Buy, and I told her to check Toys R Us. Nintendo apparently also sent out a million-DS shipment on the 21st. I've wanted to go to that store for a couple weeks (I never went since my mom insisted that according to the Toys R Us website they were sold out). On the day I finally got to go (Sunday), though, I wasn't allowed to leave till almost dinner time, and when we got there, the DS's had just sold out, and the Kingdom Hearts game I wanted to buy had been gone since Friday (they had it at Best Buy, but at that point I decided to wait until I got DS). So the irritating part is that I feel like, since I had wanted to go to that store or something....... I dunno, I feel like I was squeezed in the grip of irony or something, like how Greek tragic heros head for their downfall or something (not saying I'm tragic). I don't know how to explain the annoying part, I guess. It's like...... Hm, I know! Starting when I was in fifth grade, my intuition started going awry. For example, I'd wake up with a feeling "It's going to rain today." However, if I brought an umbrella, it would be sunny all day and if I didn't, it would pour. Anyway, I'm not really mad or anything, just kind of like when a sibling pokes you or something, it's a little annoying. I just thought it was a kind of weird story.

so, to stop wasting your time! hm.... I think I'll maybe get something up for new years.... any suggestions? i was thinking something to do with the zodiac -- this year's the rooster, right? (kind of a goofy looking animal )

Finally not in some awful movie! And Zack was teh cool!! XDD i was like WTF how can all these amazing people just HAPPEN to be in this class XDD Their school modelled after my school =_=;; or so they say, but i think the outside look more like Bronxville Public or something....... XDD (see the SIDE of the school here) except pointy with needles >DD!!

isn't it freaky how much Sheezy Art looks like devArt but pretty? and the names ("Sheezyations"? XDD ) and layout etc. are so "similar"...... hm....... but "devArt" sounds better than "Sheezy Art" i think..... many artists are going there, that's cool i guess, but please don't leave us here alone >_o;; -

I saw FOUR movies yesterday (today too if you count the wee hours):
-Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (Borrowed a ton of stuff on purpose *cough*The Iron Giant*cough* -- where are the tiny animals from? can't remember~~ TT-TT, definitely saw some Last Exile, and Fushigi Yugi references intentional or no =_=, Jude Law and Gwenyth Paltrow disappointingly a little flat, funny ending, adventurous).
I rented:
-The Stepford Wives (The original -- haven't seen the new one yet. The ending was anticlimactic and uncharacteristic of main character Joanna?, otherwise decent acting, an interesting watch).
-Kill Bills 1 and 2 (Bugged me the most: the way Bill's death came and that he didn't know about his brother's katana, but good action, blood a bit show-offy at times, didn't like Lucy Liu but i liked her high school girl~~ Kunimura? she was cool. Exciting).

Over all, what i got from this was that Jude Law and Uma Thurman are really different than in Gattaca (had to watch it for school once, fun ). So yeah.

In Other News:

The illustrious (i love you!) has put up a breathtaking picture of Draco Malfoy (aishiteru~~!!) available here. He is drawn in the red cheek, round coloring style (sometimes used for official video game art?). Please go send her your love -- her stuff is amazing!! hehe.

Saw Vanity Fair today with M grandparents, mom, and bro. Not good. OMG. I checked this morning before i left home and then a couple hours ago (couldn't comment because scanner froze the screen while scanning.... TT-TT). I can't believe i went got like 400 hits (from the 390's.... 396? to 813 - including me....) during the time i was going to my grandparents' (maternal) house (5 hours + upstate TT-TT)!! (I think i checked when i came home from a test around 1, and i saw this around.... 10:30??) i was gonna put a reminder to screen cap 521 but i was gonna do it when i got here because i didn't expect so many hits.... TT-TT (don't get me wrong - i'm very happy about the hits! )

i saw Hero on friday (matinee)~!! my favorite was the music and the yellow leaves scene but i did not like the flying at the beginning of the movie especially because it was more unnatural than in the latter bits. i think The Matrix has scarred me and all visual entertainment with innumerable parodies and makes me suspicious of all flying objects TT-TT *sob!*

i saw Manchurian Candidate on Monday or so.... i understood it until the fire alarm in the little kiddies' school and then i was lost~ nyuu---- i've always liked Liev Schliebel (cannot spell his name sorry) but i thought his role really fit him here -- he never seems to get main parts - this seems like his biggest??

So I finally half-watched the first two episodes of Last Exile on dvd today while folding laundry.... I don't understand yet why everyone says its "absolutely amazing" but i'm assuming that understanding will come in time. It is beautifully animated, though, and although a bit slow-moving (btw: why do people think the X anime goes too slow?) it's interesting, and when i think back on it, i have even better memories than when i was watching it ^w^ even though it was sad from the start with the war and all, it's still a feel good anime.... but different from Risky Safety feel good. hehe. what else was i gonna say....? I don't remember.... T-T but just all my comment, it's not life and death situation, haha. or is it?

Finished Shin Sonyun Jinhwaron. heavy potents, light storytelling. Loved it!! >w< there were words that i couldn't understand, but i still pretty much understood all the sentences and stuffs. if anybody wants to read this but can't understand, i can give a bad translation, hehe.... ;w; i already loved kusanagi and the characters naoki and sugi and sana, but now i love them even more!! >w< but the japanese versions of Toy's volumes 1 and 2 and Tenshi Shukushi (yay the title has my name's kanji in it!! >w< ) volumes 1 and 2 are still sitting on my shelf, waiting to be read. anyway, the gist of it (note: left in middle of original to help with mom's first apartment era sofa that is temporarily ours):

missed the tokyopop 4th contest by like 20 minutes sob sob (entered every single one up until now regardless of being ready ; that's so horrible i know; and the manga academy one too) gave up at 11:35 no way it could print and go to manhattan (the late opened post office >w< ) in that amount of time
almost posted it online for last minute feedback but lucky i din't because tokyopop changed the rules so publicly displayed works are disqualified on top of previously published works already being banned

15th was my birthday and i wanted to see a movie but didn't because my dad, who came from korea on saturday, was sleeping and he had been upset because he hadn't seen any movies so when we went out i decided not to see a movie which really pissed me off but oh well. weren't any movies i wanted to see - just felt like seeing any old movie....

i had a feeling before i started that i wouldn't get the entry done because it was the fourth one (deeaath!!) even though i would have finished a day early instead of pulling an all-nighter the night before - but thanks to my parents forcing me to go to new jersey for celebratory dinner at matushima restaurant (by mitsuwa) for 5 hours.... T-T and kinokuniya wasn't even there anymore (they closed or something and now have a small section in the mitsuwa as part of another japanese bookstore. (btw i ended up staying up all night two nights in a row. had like couple hour long naps sometime around noon but still. and damn that 45 minute + 30 min commute piano lesson!! i so would have finished T-T) also had a feeling i wouldn't be able to see a movie (got feeling in morning, went to watch movie at night). why are all my feelings true?? (but i'm not getting any good ones) T-T

uncle drew tarot card for me and told my mom about it on the phone - said i am in a position to make good decisions but i am half-dead so screw that~

dad brought me a go/baduk board finally (been waiting like 2 years but he forgot) and the LAST COPY of Shin (new) Sonyun Jinhwaron in all of Seoul!!!! XD even though he was complaining because i asked for kusanagi-sama's stuffs at last minute.
already had japanese version [Shonen Shinkaron New (shin? dunno without atarashii - forget.... hehe) Series] (thank you book-off!!) but i could only understand like half of it. Now i can understand half and get the gist of the story too.... yay!! >.<

Viz has translated Yami no Matsuei (Descendants of Darkness)!! unfortunately, it's not released yet, and will not be until --- i don't know!! i'm not sure if Viz posts their manga and release dates like the Tokyopop site. >.<;; but kudos for releasing Megami Kouhosei (The Candidate for Goddess a.k.a. Pilot Candidate)!! XDXD!! Meintantei Conan ( Detective Conan, Case Closed - ick!!), my favorite anime/manga, was also on display at the Viz booth!! But it was a foam version, so i'm not sure if we can count on seeing it anytime soon....

i also went to the Industry on Manga panel and met:
