She always wants to play, and can sometimes annoy even the most patient horses at the stables. She's afraid of sudden noises, and seems to be a tad skittish. Ebba shows great jumping potential - and she's fast, too.
History: She was imported from another sporthorse stud in England, in Cambridgeshire. She had a comfortable journey, and settled in quickly, soon making friends. She shares a special bond with Idoled, her paddock friend. She'll start her training/competing life next season.
Awards:
Available for stud/lease: No, too young.
Progeny:
Image(s): [link]

-Anglo Arabians

Name: Idoled.
Barn Name: Diva.
Breed: Anglo Arabian (Thoroughbred x Arabian).
Gender: Mare.
Height: 15.2hh.
Age: Two (born 2008).
Bloodlines: Sherwin X Black Wind.
Colour: Born a strong black, it is likely that she will grey out sometime.
Build: Light build, with strong hindquarters and good sound legs.
Disciplines(s): Eventing, Dressage.
Temperament: Diva’s got a wonderful personality. She’s always up for whatever you put her to, providing it’s not too dirty. She hates rain, dirt, flies, and beetles, can’t stand them. Due to her dislikes, she simply refuses to jump if it’s raining or muddy, unless you apply some force with a rap of the whip. Once in the stable, she has the sweetest temperament, and with a caring nature. She can’t stand being out in the rain, so it’s always a rush to get her in should the heavens threaten to open.
History: She was born at Red&Sky half a week early, however the birth wasn’t difficult for her dam, Black Wind. She was foaled in the night, and the staff were unaware of her birth, so seeing a little newborn standing in the stall the next morning was very surprising! She gambolled around the fields and was quick to leave her mother, and was easy to wean. She made a good start to training, although the minute it started raining she became irritable and harder to control. As she has grown, she’s become easier to control and has been learning dressage well.
Awards:
Available for stud/lease:
Progeny:
Image(s):

Features

This time I'm featuring awesome pics from the HARPG Since, y'know, I'll be starting off soon..after about a year...

    <img src="http://th02.deviantart.net/fs51/150/i/2009/340/b/0/Auktion_Application_by_Jullelin.png" width=...

Generally, there are about twenty horses, including foals, housed at the stables, and about six stallions. We are just starting out our breeding, using our first foundation stallions and mares. However, do not be afraid to request a covering from one of our stallions, or a lease from a mare, but please check the horse’s fact file first.

STALLIONS

-Hanoverians

Name: MI5.
Barn Name: Pistol.
Breed: Registered and branded Hanoverian.
Gender: Stallion.
Height: 16.2hh.
Age: eight years old (born 2001).
Bloodlines: Foundation (his sire’s name began with an ‘M’, as will his progeny’s).
Colour: Liver chestnut with two socks and a stocking. Wide blaze upon face, and a light muzzle. Darker mane and tail. Branded with the Hanoverian Society’s studbook brand on his left hind.
Build: Heavier type of Hanoverian, strong and fairly graceful, but not fast.
Discipline(s): Dressage.
Temperament: It often seems as if this horse is wise beyond his years. An extremely steady horse despite his breed, MI5 has a fantastic temperament with both humans and horses. He is a very perceptive and trustworthy mount, with a great deal of experience despite his age. Due to his heavier build, he is not suitable for showjumping or eventing, but dressage is perfect for him. He has fantastic paces, and a good deal of flair, and plays to the crowd well to gain attention.
History: He came to Red&Sky an unnamed weaned yearling straight out of Germany. We decided to name him MI5, and he was settled into his new home. A few years later, and he began his training over jumps, which he seemed to enjoy greatly. It was soon apparent that he was, in fact, not a jumper, but was far better at dressage, so his training was switched. He is ridden mainly by Helen Carter.
Awards: None yet.
Available for stud/lease: Yes, note me. Available only for realistic Hanoverian mares only.
Progeny:
Image(s):

Name: Hello Seattle.
Barn Name: Red.
Breed: Registered and branded Hanoverian.
Gender: Stallion.
Height: 17hh.
Age: Five (born 2004).
Bloodlines: Foundation (his sire’s name began with an ‘H’, as will his progeny’s).
Colour: Bright bay with a blaze, and dapples across his back, shoulders and rump. Four white stockings. Black mane and tail.
Build: Lighter and faster type of Hanoverian, long lean legs, a long and graceful neck. He carries his tail quite high, and gives an overall impression of elegance and speed.
Disciplines(s): Eventing, showjumping.
Temperament: In four words: he loves to jump. Every time he sees a jump, he’ll fight to get over it, although with training we are hoping to curb this problem. He’s got a big, scopey jump, and tends to overjump a lot. When he’s on the cross country course it’s a battle to keep him at a steady pace; he wants to rush flat out over each fence. Red’s a fantastic jumper, though. He’s not too careful over them, but he seems to be alright, and clears them well. The main thing we are worried about is him injuring himself in cross country.
History: We saw him at a horse show – in a mares and foals class. His dam and sire were both fantastic jumpers, his sire having been competing at an international level. Having seen his papers after inquiring in to his availability, we were astounded when we saw that his sire was [unnamed]. His dam showed a jumper’s conformation, but was also sleek and fast, too. So, without a doubt, the little colt would be coming home to R&S to begin his training. We paid the stud farm at the show, and a few months later, a stunning long-legged and nosy colt arrived at the stables. He began his training with Anna, and showed willingness and determination to succeed in everything he was tasked with, becoming irritated and grumpy when he had difficulty. He’s still in training, and is getting ready for competing.
Awards: None yet.
Available for stud/lease: No, too young.
Progeny:
Images(s):

Name: Rath a Rye.
Barn Name: Rath, Gully.
Breed: Registered and branded Hanoverian.
Gender: Stallion.
Height: 17.3hh.
Age: Seven...

There are over one hundred acres of land owned by the stables, all set into the beautiful English countryside, along with indoor schools, stables, barns, courses, and even a solarium and a pool. There is quick access to the equine hospital in Newmarket, and we also have a vet on site.

BREEDS

Red&Sky is, primarily, an eventing stable. Our main speciality is warmblood breeds, particularly Hanoverians. However, we also accommodate a fair number of thoroughbreds and consider ourselves a racing stable also, which, due to the stables proximity to Newmarket, makes this the perfect to breed and train thoroughbreds with some of the best trainers in the industry. We also own and compete many other breeds, which vary over time; from Lusitanos to Andalusians to Arabs to Mustangs.

STAFF

Owner and manager
Anna Howlett (me)

Head Groom
Amelia Greening

Riders
Jennifer Harold
Daniel Morris
Olivia Smythe
Helen Carter
Beth Williams

Jockeys
Flynn Durrant
Vincent Smith
Freddie De Vere
Sam O’Connor

Trainers
all the riders and jockeys above
Anna Howlett
Graham Roberts
Florence Hart

Grooms
Sarah Adding
Rebecca Owen
Robert Fox
Charles Flint

Vet
Connie O’Bryant

Farrier
Ted Haighes

STABLING

Our stables are fairly unique. They have two doors – one looking in to one of the two American style barns, and the other door looking out over the yard and school. This is handy for the staff, keeps the barns well ventilated, provides entertainment for the horses, and also decreases risk of horses being trapped should there be a fire. The horses are not tied up in their stalls, and there is the opportunity for them to poke their head over into one of the stalls next to them to greet the other horses. The stables are all equipped with automatic water dispensers, and Auboise bedding. The horses are fed a personal diet planned out for them week by week according to their workload and temperament.

BREEDING

We prefer to have our mares covered naturally, however, if one of the two has been known to kick out or bite another horse, we will use frozen semen shipped to us from the stallion’s stable and artificially inseminate the mare. There is a teasing fence at the side of one of the paddocks, which we use to test the mare’s readiness for mating. The now pregnant mare is treated with high quality care and the added benefit of having a vet working as staff on site. Once the mare is in the later stages of pregnancy, she is moved from her usual stall to one of the larger and more deeply bedded looseboxes inside the third and smallest American barn, again with the double doors, where she can give birth and raise her foal in a safe and comfortable environment.

RULES

1.	Look at the horse’s factfile before asking to have a lease/covering.
2.	Please don’t design your stallion/mare simply so that you can get a baby from my horse.
3.	NOTE ME if you want a breeding.
4.	I don’t want foals to be like clones of their parents, be original and creative with their designs. I'd be happy to help you with designs should you get stuck.
5.	If I ask you for a breeding from your stallion to your mare, I’ll do the art. If you ask me, you’ll do the art. There are always exceptions, though.
6.	Please try to complete at least the breeding picture within two weeks.
7.	Regarding names, if possible, try to relate them to the foal’s parents’ names. Note me if you’re stuck. You may use a prefix on your new foal’s name, but only if the parent you own has a prefix.
8.	If your horse is a Hanoverian, remember the name MUST begin with the first letter of the sire’s name, regardless of whether the foal’s a colt or a filly. Remember, also, that your new Hanoverian foal must be branded and registered in Germany, as well as going through the grading pr...
