So here I am again in my school's library. In France, that is. I'm quite glad to have internet access, though I must say the school's website is... Okay, I'll get to that in a minute.

First off, I've been having a grand ol' time with my camera. We went on an excursion to Strasbourg/Alsace over the weekend, and during the two days that we were there, I took 597 photos. Definitely a record for me. I probably didn't even take that many in the last four years that I was using my old camera.

Anyway, I got a lot of photos, and a few of them even merit some artistic appreciation (though some of them were taken purely for touristy reasons). And now that I've got a few of them touched up and stuff in Photoshop, I'm going to start posting them here.

It's worth noting that the adjustments I've made to these pictures (mostly levels, brightness/contrast, saturation, etc.) were made on my laptop, which doesn't have the best screen in the world. Its colors only seem to look right from a couple of very particular angles, and I'm not even sure if those are any good compared to "real" displays. So if they turn out exceedingly dark/light/ugly/etc., it's because there's nothing I can do about it on this computer. It's not because I have weird artistic vision or because I'm incompetent, etc., I swear...

But back on the subject of my school's website, it's terrible. I guess I'm just spoiled from Lewis & Clark, or maybe my French is just really bad and I'm not seeing something that's right in front of me, but I can't find the course catalog for the life of me. It's rather aggravating, if I do say so myself. But one day I shall conquer it, and it shall be pwned. You'll see...

And on a parting note, I like Nutella. It is a brilliant substance. And they have way more of it here than back home. I found a jar of 1500 grams, but I decided against getting it, as the next size down, 875 grams, was less than half the price (3.49 euro; now I'm curious how much it costs in the States... anyone out there know?).

Okay, that's all. Goodbye, good luck, and gesundheit.

And so it is my intention to use this journal as a place for updates and such, and my gallery will be an album of my travels. I'll try to keep the touristy snapshots in the Scraps section, though I do intend to take a number of "artistic" photos, so I'll submit those as regular deviations.

More to come in the near future. Either later today if I get bored, or sometime next week.
Anyway, come Tuesday, I leave for college. In the days before that, I have to perform in a play, and pack all my stuff. Should be a busy weekend.
I guess I'll just leave it at that for now. I'll try to remember to write another journal entry after my arrival at college.

Well score, school has effectively ended for me. AP tests are over, so I'll basically be having no real work for the rest of the school year. This means that I'll have plenty of time to comment on stuff here. Though I must admit, the 300+ messages that have accumulated are looking rather daunting. I somehow don't think I'll get to them. In all likelyhood, I'll just start anew, commenting on stuff as it comes in, and more or less disregard the MASSIVE amounts of stuff in my inbox here. Sorry if any outstanding work gets unwittingly overlooked.

Also, in the past few weeks I've put together a few things that I can post, including my movie theater. I'll likely have that posted within a day or two. Other things will be posted sooner, I think.

What's your favorite thing to eat for breakfast? I'd have to say it's French toast for me. Or possibly my mom's cinnamon rolls. Also, a good batch of bacon could go with just about any breakfast. Too bad I'm not awake for breakfast that often...

Score for an interesting journal title! I figured I might as well commemorate my tenth journal with something special, and a unique title seemed like it'd be fitting.

Sorry to all as I haven't been commenting lately. Last week was spring break, and I had a great time doing nothing. I slept. I probably logged a total of 2 hours of online time for the whole week. And then this week when I finally started logging more time on my computer, I was just too lazy to actually comment or anything. As a result, I've been left with around 160 deviations to look at, 60 or so journals, and a couple comments.

Anyway, I've just made my final decision on where to go to college. After much debate, I have become convince that Lewis and Clark College will be the school for me. There were lots of things to consider in that decision, and it wasn't easy in the least. But as a result, Noah (~Sylsaryn4 ) and I will be going to school together for ANOTHER four years, for a grand total of seventeen years. That's a bloody long time. roughly 77% of our lives.

So now that I've made my decision on college, I get to turn my focus to AP tests. I have four chapters of calculus to do (which is a LOT for a two week period), two and a half books to read for French (also a lot, as the last two books took me about a month each), plus all the preparatory homework that I'll be getting in all my other classes. Fun stuff. I'm likely gonna loathe every minute of it. So if, during the next two weeks, there are long periods in which I don't spend a lot of time here on DA, that's why. Luckily, I should be pretty free to comment as much as I want afterwards. Also, it'll be the end of any real homework for this school year. That'll be nice.

Other than that, I can't think of much else interesting. I guess end this journal with another profound, thought-provoking question:

What is YOUR favorite use for duct tape? I think my favorite so far is wrapping paper. Quite a sadistic thing to use it as, but quite fun. Try it sometime.

Score for birthdays. Had a test on Hamlet in English today, which was quite painful. I do not look forward to seeing my grade on that. French and PE were ok, but not great. Thoroughly lacking in overall coolness. After school was better though. Started listening to the music I bought myself, and then proceeded to open the box with my two blades. The bat'leth is cool, but I'm especially liking the kukri. Man, that thing is gonna be awesome when it's sharp.... (Sonoma County inhabitants beware...*evil grin*) Pizza made for a good dinner, and a dessert of wonderful chocolate cake will come at some point in the near future. I like cake. And chocolate.

Well, the dueling went relatively well. I came out with less victories overall. Most of the time I was using my bat'leth, and I was fighting against a katana. I found that the katana is far more agile than the bat'leth, though the bat'leth can squash the katana like a bug with it's sheer mass. It should be interesting to see our battles when we actually get skilled with our weapons. I'll try to get pictures next time.
